1200 calories a day = 28" waist Levi's 501

Hi I am starting today to eat 1200 calories a day. I'm 5'8 and currently weigh 13st. I lost 6st 2 years ago and reached 10st. Unfortunately life/work got in the way and I took my eye of the ball and regained. I did calorie counting before and it worked, so I am trying again.

I'm hoping to fit into my beloved 28 Waist Levi's 501 jeans. I treated myself to a pair, once I'd slimmed down. I want to wear them again.

@lou967 your stomach will adjust I felt better after around week I think..Just keep going and it will get better..
if you really hungry I would say have something healthy, if you go few days a bit over your limit it's ok there will be days when you will be under..x

BuntysBumperAnnual · 19/05/2020 08:30

I have been hungry the past three days too but I figure if I stop then those three days of being hungry will have been for nothing. Would it help you to think like that, lou?

I had some oats today for breakfast to fill myself up. 30g plus a teaspoon of mixed seeds all soaked in apple juice and natural yogurt with 10 raspberries. And I've just done 25 minutes of yoga off YouTube. The first time I have exercised in three years! Although I am generally fairly active due to having no car but obviously haven't been during lockdown. I've also mopped the kitchen floor! Now I'm starting work.

lou967 · 19/05/2020 08:44

I had yogurt with raspberries, blackberries, banana, apple, peach and mango. I also added some oats. It was a nice change to porridge with milk.

My teens have gone veggie / occasional piscatarian (environment consciousness) so for convenience and economy we are eating veggie meals. I think lean chicken would make life easier for staving off hunger, and avoiding cheese as protein in meals.

ITonyah · 19/05/2020 09:36

I've decided to go for 1500 cals a day so will bow out! Hoping its far more sustainable and I will be able to eat smaller portions of my normal foods. Good luck all!

Batqueen · 19/05/2020 09:48

@YinMnBlue I’m veggie - I will say lentils are definitely going to be your friends if you are switching to veggie and cutting cals at the same time!

BookSkark · 19/05/2020 09:58

Kept within my calories yesterday, although I did cheat slightly by eating back my exercise calories - I know MFP says you can, but I'm never sure it's a great idea as it just becomes an excuse to eat more.

I'll give it a week under that approach and see how it goes - if nothing else it gives me an incentive to do some more exercise, which can't be a bad thing.

And don't sell the jeans - keep them as a goal, even if it takes ages to get there! I haven't got any particular item of "goal clothing" but I have got a wardrobe full of clothes that used to fit, so it would be good to get back into those rather than admitting defeat and buying a whole new wardrobe for my current size....

Hello all, just bobbing in again to document that I’ve lost another pound. So I’m now 11st 5lbs (I’m 5”8”) and I’ve just looked at my bmi again and am now a healthy weight YAY!! BMI is 24 (it was 26.9 I think when I started). So that’s good.

BUT.....and it’s a big but...it’s my birthday tomorrow, it’s supposed to be hot and we’re having a barbecue. I’ve been so good I feel I deserve a few glasses of wine and a burger or two however I know what I’m like and once I start (and am on the wrong side of tiddly) I can’t stop sometimes!

So....we shall see!

Oh and also lou967 I’ve been digging through my old jeans - I’ve got piles - and have found some very nice Tommy Hilfiger ones and also a pair of dark blue Levi’s which I completely forgot I had (I reckon they’re from about 2005!) however they’re pretty generic style and I think I could wear them and not look hideously dated once I fit into them. So another thing to keep in mind (when I’m quaffing wine tomoz!)

WitchyMoo · 19/05/2020 10:03

I've just had a 3 egg omelette . Jamie Oliver , it was huge so I've saved half for lunch which I'll top up with salad or add tomatoes on the side . No milk,no cheese just a tiny bit of butter , oil and salt
Drinking tea , I'm going to try to cut the milk a little in the tea and probably only have 3 cups a day , the rest water . I may allow a squash to drink before bed Grin

WitchyMoo · 19/05/2020 10:05

Oh and I took the dog out this morning for 20 minutes , need to fish out my Fitbit , it's around somewhere , I'll take him out later just before teatime for another 20 mins

lou967 · 19/05/2020 10:30

@Bleepbloopblarp take some pictures. I want to see them Grin

@BookSkark I don't want to sell them. I love them. It's a case of mind over matter. I am hungry but I suppose it'll be worth it in the end.

I've been having a rummage this morning. I've been through some more drawers and also some bags in the attic.

I've come across some more jeans lol. I found 3 pairs of Levi's and a pair of Superdry.

They are all skinny fit and all 28 waist 34 leg.

I'll upload some pictures. Feeling more motivated as I really like the jeans I've found. I didn't know I had them and don't remember buying them.

The first pair here are Levi's 473 Skinny Fit - 28 waist 34 leg.

The last pair are Superdry. Not sure if I like the colour HmmThey are non stretch. Quite thick stiff denim. They do say raw denim on the back. They are heavy too. I like the design but I don't think I'll ever fit them. Superdry sizing is small. These are 28 waist 34 leg.

Great jeans OP!
I have a cammo denim shirt dress that I want to fit into, and a pair of size 12 skinnies.

I'm using my Fitbit to track calories and food and aiming for at least a 500kcal deficit a day (ideally more).
I'm running again so hopefully that will help

lou967 · 19/05/2020 15:11

@Veterinari thanks. They have motivated me to carry on. Your clothes sound great. You'll soon be in them.

Good luck running :)

@WitchyMoo Now I know I have a fairly big appetite but I demolished a 3 egg omelette for lunch and could easily have eaten more.
I am counting the hours until dinner time, I must be a greedy cow Confused
Lou you have no excuse now you have so many lovely jeans to get into Smile

lou967 · 19/05/2020 16:02

@EvenPhilip thanks. I didn't know I had them. I'm the same. Counting down the hours till I eat again.

I don't know why I do this...I've been 'feeling' slimmer because I've eaten well and drank lots of water over the past few days. So I tried on my jeans and of course there's no difference. Now I feel demotivated 😂

lou967 · 19/05/2020 17:45

@babysnowman exactly what I've been doing today. Although I'm more motivated as I can't wait to get into them!

I'm just trying to resist the temptation of a takeaway tonight. I'm still on a conference call and unlikely to finish much before 7pm, and haven't been outside all day (although I did do some HIIT this morning). So it's really tempting to go for a walk, and then pick something up on the way back, rather than staying in and cooking (can't walk and then cook otherwise DD will be far too late to bed by the time we've eaten).

I. WILL. RESIST. (hopefully)
