1200 calories a day = 28" waist Levi's 501

Hi I am starting today to eat 1200 calories a day. I'm 5'8 and currently weigh 13st. I lost 6st 2 years ago and reached 10st. Unfortunately life/work got in the way and I took my eye of the ball and regained. I did calorie counting before and it worked, so I am trying again.

I'm hoping to fit into my beloved 28 Waist Levi's 501 jeans. I treated myself to a pair, once I'd slimmed down. I want to wear them again.

@onedream I've been ok. I think being stuck inside is not helping. The walking has improved my mood but I'm still not feeling motivated. I want to eat anything and everything at the moment. I've not (obviously) but I'm still getting hungry between meals. I want to stop the snacking habit.

Hi ladies, looks like you are doing really well. I survived Monday and like a pp point I was shocked when I considered how many snacks I had been eating. I have managed to stick to 1200 and just about to go for a run

lou967 · 18/05/2020 19:44

@YinMnBlue thanks. It was a challenge but I must keep walking or some form of exercise. I need to get this tummy slim and my thighs lean.

I had Salmon, vegetables, brown rice and another yogurt for evening meal.

How's everyone else doing?

Also, I had a browse on eBay and my 501 jeans are selling for £95 or more. So if I sold them I'd potentially get a good sale. Although it did make me think that I may not find another pair as they are quite rare.

Hello everyone. Can I join? 13 st 4 and 5'6 here. I have never been so heavy before. I downloaded my fitness Pal set to 1200 calories and have done three days so far counting today which I've stuck to yay. The first two days I also went for a one hour brisk walk each day but today I haven't - hopefully tomorrow. Bloody hell I was eating loads before, really when I log everything it makes me realise that. I am feeling hungry a lot of the time which I'm taking as a good sign but my weight hasn't changed at all yet! ☹️

lou967 · 18/05/2020 20:17

@BuntysBumperAnnual yes of course you can join. Welcome. :) it's amazing how many calories are in certain foods/meals. It shocked me too.

IKR? Even things like butter on toast! I have been wildly underestimating how much I've been eating for years - eg I assumed a sandwich was 200 calories because after all it's just two slices of bread. Wrong! And just not counting little extra mouthfuls of stuff at all.

On the plus side that means I've been genuinely eating shit loads of calories which means that not eating so many will see me lose weight. Onwards!

BuntysBumperAnnual · 18/05/2020 20:24

And thank you for the welcome. 😬

onedream · 18/05/2020 20:34

@lou967 hang in there..first days are the hardest your body will adjust and it will get easier..don't sell the jeans..you will wear them!
Have a tea or coffee at snack times maybe a rice cake they are literally no calories or graze protein bars are good some are only around 80-90 kcal and are tiny but filling..

Batqueen · 18/05/2020 20:35

I’ve just finished my walk now, decided to feed the geese on the river as I couldn’t feed myself Wink

Today’s been hard as I’ve had some low blood sugars so have had to have some sugary snacks but managed to stay on target so far

lovinglavidaloca · 18/05/2020 20:37

Been for a walk/run tonight. Am building up from running for 5 minutes and managed 8 tonight.

Going to have some treats soon!

Bringonspring · 18/05/2020 21:01

Great efforts on the walk/runs. I just got back from mine. I feel so much better. It’s really hard as Working from home, normally when at work I do over 10k worth it steps without trying

lou967 · 18/05/2020 21:28

Feeling hungry. May have an early night. How long until my stomach shrinks / gets used to less food? I don't remember being this hungry last time I lost weight.

I have been getting used to going to bed slightly hungry. Normally I would get a bowl of cereal, I am terrible for bowls of cereal in the night, but I have found that if I get to sleep I don’t feel hungry in the middle of the night and am fine until morning. I did have a small glass of semi skimmed milk to stop feeling hungry before sleep the other night though.

Dinner:
Chick pea, potato and spinach curry with a bit of rice

lou967 · 18/05/2020 22:34

@YinMnBlue good idea.

lou967 · 18/05/2020 22:39

Has anyone managed to find an outfit or a piece of clothing in their wardrobe to motivate them?

OP posts:
lovinglavidaloca · 18/05/2020 22:44

Great idea Lou! I’ve definitely got some jeans (just boring old new look ones) that haven’t fitted for a good while so could aim to get into those.

Am hoping that when I put my work trousers back on after lockdown they’ll be threatening to fall down.

lou967 · 18/05/2020 22:45

@onedream thanks. I have fibre one bars and some Alpen light bars but they're my treats for when I've lost some weight. I'm trying not to snack as I want to ensure that I'm only eating 3 times a day. I need structure and discipline. I am tempted to sell the jeans but I know I'll regret it if I do. I hope it gets easier. Does the stomach shrink or get used to less food?

OP posts:
lou967 · 18/05/2020 22:46

@lovinglavidaloca it's a goal for you. Mine are tiny and every time I look at them I think to myself I couldn't have possibly been than slim!

OP posts:
BuntysBumperAnnual · 18/05/2020 22:52

I haven't got anything really lovely to wear but I will buy something when I do. I'm sorry you're losing motivation but please don't sell your jeans. You were so happy about them a couple of days ago and we all want you to be in them- plus they are the title of the thread!

I enjoyed my meal tonight - leftover roast beef (yes, I managed a roast dinner yesterday - I put all the components into myfitnesspal and it came out ok with just having three roasties, a Yorkshire pudding and loads of veg hurrah) in a little oil and tsp flour, add stock and reduce, add half fat creme fraiche (i don't go for the very low fat version as it tastes nasty imo), a small cube of blue cheese, 75g spaghetti, cauliflower and broccoli on the side.

lou967 · 18/05/2020 22:54

@BuntysBumperAnnual thanks for your vote of confidence. It's a mind game and obviously I will have ups and downs. I just feel hungry and all I can think about is food and eating. I'm used to eating lots so it's going to take a while. I don't want to sell them.

PutYourBackIntoit · 18/05/2020 23:09

I'd like to join please! I'm 5'7 and 12st, size 14/16 all flab, no boobs.😔

I'm not currently dieting as it's one thing to much; but I'm hoping this thread might focus my mind every now and then!

YinMnBlue · 19/05/2020 07:00

Actually, there is a dress I need to be able to get back into and look good!

It is the only truly expensive dress I have ever bought, and it was for a very particular high profile occasion. Designer dress, bought in Selfridges. Hips and tum just way to lumpy for it.

I need to wear it this autumn.
