52 pounds in 52 weeks for 2015?

Chooseyourplayer · 01/01/2015 20:12

Haven't seen a thread for this although i know there was one last year and i wasn't on it but i really need to do something now. I have about 4 stone to lose. I am starting to have aches and pains as i get older and feel fat and awfully self conscious. Going to try low calorie and mfp. Would anyone like to join me or point me in the direction of the right thread?
Thanks

Im joining SW on Sat and this is the target I am setting myself. I dont know how much I weigh currently but imagine it is around 13stone. I had dc2 10 weeks ago and was still carrying weight from dc1 who is three. I was at least a stone overweight when I fell pregnant with her!

Howlongtillbedtime · 01/01/2015 21:46

Me please ! I would love to see someone pop up who managed this last year .

I am so fed up being fat .

Biscetti · 01/01/2015 21:48

Yes, I'm in. Thank you for starting the thread. I'm going to do 5:2 I think, as I've found that manageable before. And lots more walking too, now that we have a dog.

Chooseyourplayer · 01/01/2015 22:21

Great, will be good to keep each other motivated. I am becoming very conscious about my health as i am getting older so this is a big motivator for me. And i am so fed up of being fat. My babies are 10 and 7 and i have just piled weight on in the past 7 years. I have logged into mfp and put my 52 pound as my target. Great to have some support. Yes it would be great to have some tips from anyone who achieved this previously

I'm in!
I hope I can do it!

hoedown · 02/01/2015 12:22

i'm in! 52lb is pretty much exactly what i'd like to lose, starting TODAY!

snozzlemaid · 02/01/2015 12:28

I'll join you. I'll start on Monday and will use mfp to monitor my food intake and just generally move more as I don't normally do any exercise. I'll start with more walking - either during my lunch break or in the evening (I have no excuse as we have a treadmill).

Cocolate · 02/01/2015 12:28

I have this idea that in order to lose a lb a week you'd need to cut 3,500 calories a week from your food (or/and up your exercise to take in that amount of calories). Approaching it from that pov has helped me before with a combination of more exercise and a lose approach to the 5:2.

Unexpected · 02/01/2015 12:39

I'm in. I need to lose pretty much that amount of weight, am sick of being too big to enjoy shopping or wearing clothes and feel that my weight is beginning to affect my health in various ways - painful knees, general lack of stamina etc. This has got to be the year to do something about it.

Chooseyourplayer · 02/01/2015 20:43

Ok I have started today. MFP and 1200 calories. I think the hardest thing will be the change of habits but i guess thats where the willpower comes in. Everytime i fancy a biscuit i must remember my aching hip!

Rockchick1984 · 03/01/2015 07:52

Oooh, please can I join in? My initial goal is losing 3st but the extra 10lb would take me to my pre-baby weight so 52lbs would be amazing.

I'm mostly calorie counting and trying to eat clean, it's a big shock to my system after surviving on cake and take away for the past year or so Blush

Methe · 03/01/2015 08:32

I'm in.. I've got 4 stone to lose to and like others on starting to struggle carrying it.. Painful feet, knees and getting breathless easily. I also look Fucking terrible at 14+ stone (I don't actually know how much I weigh now :()

I'm starting on Monday as it's did birthday on sun x

PookBob · 03/01/2015 08:36

I'm in, with MFP at 1620 a day. Really want to achieve this target in 2015 as feeling awful.

MaelstromOfLunacy · 03/01/2015 08:36

Me too! I currently weigh 13st2, 52lbs would take me to 9st6 which is what I weighed at 18, so that would be amazing! Had a baby and starting running my own business last year so haven't made my health a priority, and am 2 stone heavier than when I got pregnant :( following slimming world principles, and off to body pump at the gym in half an hour, eek!

ChocolateNutsAndCreamLiquer · 03/01/2015 08:38

.

MadeinSouthWest · 03/01/2015 09:16

Count me in. At least 3 stone to lose. Also feeling unhealthy at my size so I need to do this. Going to look at MFP now but the plan is to eat less, no takeaways and walk every day.

Good luck and willpower to us all!

Cumberlover76 · 03/01/2015 09:53

Me too. I lost nearly a stone relatively easily at the end of last summer by cutting out daily alcohol and a bit of calorie watching. I would love to loose 2-3 stone by mid-july as have a special trip planned and I'd like to look good and not struggle with hip pain. I'm currently 13st7 and would love to be 10-10.5 St. MFP goal is 1200 cals and I will be trying to keep cal intake low during the day with a healthy dinner and eating as much vegetarian as poss. Plus upping daily exercise and back to spinning.

I hate the was I look and know I can do it. Good luck ladies, we can do it!

Redling · 03/01/2015 10:50

This sounds good, starting Monday we should have got rid of the christmas junk! I never had a sweet tooth before I was pregnant and didn't eat a lot of carbs. Then horrific morning sickness most the pregnancy meant I survived on white carbs and ice cream. Now DS is 19 weeks I need to get back to it. MFP on 1200 cals :) apparently on there carrying a 15lb infant for 2 hours burns about 600 cals, so taking my 17lb son shopping in the Connecta carrier should be good excercise! Starting to day with egg and ham for lunch rather than a massive sandwich. I might do a loose 5:2 as I tend to not eat a lot with him in the day!

Chooseyourplayer · 03/01/2015 15:39

I think that makes 18 of us so far, which is fab. Today is day 2 for me. Going ok so far. Hardest thing is not grazing all day when i am at home, i just need to change my old habits as they are the reason i am now fat. Going to take my xmas decs down now to keep me busy and have got rid of leftover xmas food. Still have 2 bottles of baileys but going to ignore thoseGrin
Are we going to post our own weekly losses when we weigh ourselves?

Howlongtillbedtime · 03/01/2015 15:46

I am going to start on monday , that feels like Christmas will be done by then, we still have the tree up so in my head I can keep eating nuts and cheese Blush

But come monday I am in , well done to all of you getting a head start on me .

Isthatwhatdemonsdo · 03/01/2015 15:46

Count me in. I'm way too fat at now. Will start Monday. Going back to the running to go with the dog walks. If I can cut the crap out of my diet I should be able to do this.

hoedown · 03/01/2015 17:50

Yep i'll post after each weigh-in too, i started dieting yesterday but haven't weighed myself yet. Will weigh tomorrow and each week after that. feeling hungry but determined!!

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 03/01/2015 18:16
