Haven't seen a thread for this although i know there was one last year and i wasn't on it but i really need to do something now. I have about 4 stone to lose. I am starting to have aches and pains as i get older and feel fat and awfully self conscious. Going to try low calorie and mfp. Would anyone like to join me or point me in the direction of the right thread?
Thanks

BODYPUMP hurts!!! Grin really feeling the effects of what is basically an hour of Weightlifting today. Having said that, MFP is telling me I burnt 451 calories in an hour, and it was fun - result!

Hello, I just wanted to say good luck with 52 in 52 everyone! I did this 2 years ago, size 20/22 to size 8 in a year and it's hard but so, so worth it. I have lost another stone since and started exercising - I'm fit now! The hardest thing is just to keep going day after day when you feel like your effort is worth so much more than what you're seeing on the scales. Also when you hit a plateau, time for an honest food diary then drop the Calories. I did 5:2 (mostly 4:3 actually) and a bit of slimfast as well - doesn't matter what you do, they all work if you stick to them hard enough. Also take pictures and measurements now. I wish I had taken a before photo, but I felt so awful at that size that I didn't want any pictures. Now I really want to show off what I've done and I can't! You CAN do it everyone. You CAN be a size (whatever) by next year, make it happen, Good luck!

Slithytove I was bf at the time, it doesn't affect it - but keep well hydrated. During pregnancy your body lays down fat for you to use up when you're bf. These fat stores are supposed to be used up during this time, they're not supposed to be kept long term or permanently, so I wouldn't eat much extra so as to keep the fat stores - that defeats the point really! There is a study, which I read at the time, comparing milk from bf mothers with a rich western diet to that of mothers from the third world with a very limited diet. The nutritional value of the milk was practically identical, so baby will not be affected.

RaisinGirls · 04/01/2015 10:06

Can I join too? I'm so overweight I don't know what I weigh, I'm too I scared! I have an 8 month old baby and lost the weights put on pretty quickly but I was 2stone overweight before got pregnant. Since I started weaning her my weight has gone up again - I'm eating her food and my own meals. It's ridiculous. I'm starting SWtonorrow....

Methe · 04/01/2015 10:07

I'm going to get on the scales.., wish me luck :(

DoFliesHaveKnees · 04/01/2015 10:08

I'm totally up for this. I weighed myself yesterday and am 14st 3lbs which is heavier than when I was 9 months pregnant with my daughter. Signed up for MFP again but not sure what my username is, will check that out.

Starting weight 14st3lbs minus 52 lbs is 10st7lbs which sounds ace!

3littlerabbits · 04/01/2015 10:13

I am in. 12 stone currently, 5ft 4. 3 children close together, youngest is 2 and I haven't stopped eating since she was born. Clothes feel uncomfortable, as does my bouncing belly! I really need some support and motivation so hopefully this will help. Good luck to all the ladies here.

Howlongtillbedtime · 04/01/2015 10:14

Good luck methe ! It has taken me ages to be brave enough but this morning I just figured me not knowing the numbers wasn't making it not true .

Right I am off to the gym , wish me luck , at least in January it will be full of unfit fatties like me Grin

Methe · 04/01/2015 10:16

So I'm 14 stone 3.5oz I'm 5'4" and look about 7 months pregnant at the moment and I've got several chins.

Onwards and upwards.

Chooseyourplayer · 04/01/2015 10:17

Procast - thank you for the advice. Your weight loss is amazing. Good luck everyone starting this week and for those going to the gym and getting on the scales. I need to figure out how to increase my exercise but have a wii u fit with the pedometer thingy so will blow the dust off that today.

Marking place as am 15.9 so could use a group to encourage me!

I generally used MFP to calorie count.

RaisinGirls · 04/01/2015 10:20

what is MFP? How does it work re; tracking calories etc?

ChildOfGallifrey · 04/01/2015 10:33

I'd love to join in too. Bought myself a fancy new set of scales 2 days ago and I've put on 2 stone since my wedding in August! Very stressful last few months and lots of comfort eating due to lack of sleep (child with SN).

I'm weighing in at 15.12!!!! 52 lbs would put me around the 12 stone mark and that's where I've been my happiest. Any less and my face starts looking a bit meh. Hoping with exercise as well as diet I will be a lovely toned size 12 Smile

Already had MFP but will start using it properly again. Now just have to battle the late night gorging I indulge in to keep myself awake for DS Blush

7 minute workout app downloaded (baby steps), once I've dropped a little bit I will start the 30 day shred again. It's amazing and was noticeable after 5 days. Youngest starts per school tomorrow so will have 3 hours to myself everyday and I plan on fitting in a nice long walk/slow jog in those 3 hours.

Good luck everyone!

Oh! Are we checking in every day?

ChildOfGallifrey · 04/01/2015 10:34

Pre not per!

OpposableThumbs · 04/01/2015 10:35

I'm in. I kept it up last year for around six months and then maintained. Finished the year 2 stone lighter than I was at the start. I'd like to lose another 1.5-2 stone, preferably by the summer so a pound a week will work nicely.

slithytove · 04/01/2015 10:45

I intend to check in every day. Starting Tm with weigh in, fruit and porridge.

ChildOfGallifrey · 04/01/2015 11:04

I just did the 7 minute workout...I'm outrageously unfit Blush

Dowser · 04/01/2015 11:05

Redling. Do you use quinoa, millet, spelt grains etc in your cooking. We do to get away from pasta made from wheat.

They are nice for a change.

I was never a fan of pasta anyway.

Mrsmorton · 04/01/2015 11:27

I think I'd like to do this. I'm using MFP and a Fitbit, on 1200 calories a day which I can do. I'm sort of either all in or all out and I do well with routine.

How often do you all weigh yourselves?

Howlongtillbedtime · 04/01/2015 11:28

Gym done , managed 45 mins on the treadmill walking / jogging .

The problem is in the week I finish work just in time for school run and dh isn't in till late so will have to find something else to do at home on those days . Wii fit maybe ? I could even dig out my zumba wii .

Good luck to all . I am going to weigh in every Thursday as that will officially be the first week of the year done even though I wont have done a full week yet .

Weight 13st0
Waist 32ins
Body fat % 39.7 (eek!)
BMI 29.5

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 04/01/2015 13:21

Has anyone ever used a pedometer? Thinking it would be nice to aim for 10,000 steps a day but wondered if Id end up just chucking it in a drawer.

ineedsomeinspiration · 04/01/2015 13:53

What would you ladies say is your biggest downfall and how are you planning to overcome it?

One of Mine is my desk job, I've recently changed to a more desk based role and as it hasn't really established yet I'm a bit bored. I'll eat my lunch by ten then go toothed shop and buy seconds at lunch time. I have to go to the shop to buy milk, tea coffee etc for work so I think pure will power will be the order of the day.

The other bad habit is finishing littlest boys dinner or going back for seconds.

God I sound so greedy.

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 04/01/2015 14:17

Mine is convenience. I eat white toast for breakfast because it is quick and easy. I dont like brown bread. Then for lunch ill make a sandwich with more white bread purely because its quick and easy. Dinner will be spag bol but a jar sauce again, because its quick and easy.

I need to spend a little more time thinking and prepping and that will help me lose weight.

I Now off the bread totally. SW only allows brown, really, so id rather go without.
