Haven't seen a thread for this although i know there was one last year and i wasn't on it but i really need to do something now. I have about 4 stone to lose. I am starting to have aches and pains as i get older and feel fat and awfully self conscious. Going to try low calorie and mfp. Would anyone like to join me or point me in the direction of the right thread?
Thanks

Well if nobody else answers then at least we can buddy up anonanon! Impressed by what you've managed so far - are you using mfp? Any tips?

slithytove · 09/03/2015 08:16

Morning all, and welcome loop and anon.

It's not the busy thread I'd like unfortunately, but the posts do tend to come in on Monday with weigh ins.

I'm using mfp, have gone from 15 stone at Christmas to 12'13 at last weigh in, but for the first time im really dreading weigh in, as I was ill last week and just had the shittiest eating week involving far too many biscuits.

Still onwards and upwards, off for my poo and a weigh in Grin

anonanon71 · 09/03/2015 11:15

Yes loopstloup I use map, but only mon to fri.
My best change is that I make soup like telcos red pepper and bean soup and take it to work for my lunch. Once the soup has beans or chickpeas in it it keeps me full. I also cut back on the treats and I have a dress that nearly fits me that I keep in my wardrobe. I almost closes on me now. I weigh in on Friday and I try the dress on every second Friday.
Well done slithytove that's a great loss. Any tips?
Looking forward to hearing ur update for this week.

slithytove · 09/03/2015 13:53

Not sure I should be giving tips as I've stayed the same this week! First time though after 3lbs last week so I'm not too disheartened.

My main thing is to set my calorie target somewhere between my tdee and bmr, and I reassessed it every half stone or so. I also don't count any exercise calories, and I know some people use them for treats. Also no food is forbidden.

Next goal, lose 1lb so I'm 'overweight' rather than 'obese'

How's everyone else done?

kazzymac · 10/03/2015 07:48

Morning and welcome. I'm a Tuesday morning weigher in. So today it's only half a pound but was away the weekend(takeaways). Had a bit of a revelation this morning as I weighed myself yesterday and I had lost 2 pounds since my last weigh in. I thought about using that weight to post on here but then thought why and who am I kidding here? I need to be honest with myself and just work harder this week. So it's back to mfp todayGrin

slithytove · 16/03/2015 08:02

Woohoo lost a pound! I am no longer obese!

2 more lbs and I'll officially hit the 2 stone mark.

I'm shocked as I've had a very bad week, going to need to make up for it this week as I suspect I'll still put weight on off the back of this weekend if I'm not careful.

Bought 30 day shred too, now I just need to make the time and find the energy to use it.

How's everyone else done?

lunalovegood84 · 16/03/2015 08:26

I haven't been on for ages. I'm now 13 st 6.25 lbs. Looking back at my last post that's 7.5 lbs off in 4 weeks which I'm really pleased with. I've never managed to lose weight at this rate before. Finding my new job a bit stressful which might be helping!

Well done to everyone on your losses. Slithytove you are doing amazingly, I bet you are shrinking by the day! Kazzymac I'm a daily weigher and just go by my lowest - I'm always fluctuating up and down by a pound or so. Welcome to loop and anon.

kazzymac · 16/03/2015 11:25

Slithy - brilliant - well done to you! you should be very pleased with yourself. Keep going as that 2 stone mark is within clutching distance now.
Luna- wow 7.5 lbs in four weeks is brilliant too. I fluctuate a few pounds throughout the week but I am trying to restrict that to once a week. Fingers crossed for tomorrow for me!

kazzymac · 17/03/2015 07:15

So only another half pound for me....sigh. Better than putting it on I guessGrin

I've only ever aimed for 1lb a week loss with eating relatively high calories, and I'm officially 26lbs down since 5th January, 32lbs since Christmas

I'm in this for the long haul for the first time, and it's working

I put sedentary and with my current weight I have 1450 cals to use. Don't count any exercise I might do, and I'm breastfeeding which helps, though dd is weaning now so can't count on that for much longer!

I still have 2 stone minimum to lose though (takes me to top of healthy weight range) so maybe thats why its still coming off? How much do you have to lose?

Not intentionally, but I have a Velcro baby and a 2 year old who has just learnt to run, so probably get a lot of accidental exercise Grin plus the bf really helps.

I am on a 1lb per week weight loss now though, it was just those early days it dropped off - probably because it was such a change and I really was very very overweight for my height (5'5)

Oh also - I'm not cutting out any foods at all, so there is no starvation or cheating, but I am trying to reduce my 'added sugars' - so just making small changes in my yoghurts, cereals etc. Think the reduced sugar thing is really helping.

slithytove · 17/03/2015 13:30

Yes, home snacking I struggle with too.

I get round it by having a range of healthy pre prepared snacks. Crudités, salsa, breadsticks - all ready to munch on and it helps me avoid less healthy choices. And I've stopped buying biscuits entirely as for some reason, I have no will power when it comes to biscuits.

kazzymac · 17/03/2015 15:19

I also have my setting on 1lb per week and have 1450 (sitting down desk job) calories per day which I seem to use up and then a bit more. It's the weekends that I struggle with (oh and rocky chocolate bars on special offer-eating four in one go does not help) I think that I need to join slithy and just not buy them. Keep on going everyone

slithytove · 17/03/2015 16:49

I buy one chocolate.
Seems ridiculous, but when it's gone it's gone and usually it's enough. Something like a freddo or a mini buttons is low cal.

Also, if I fancy chocolate, I have chocolate flavoured shape yoghurts in, which are lovely. High in sugar though :)

kazzymac · 24/03/2015 07:36

Helloooooo.......is anyone there? Weigh in day today for me -2.5lbs! So pleased as it is over a year ago since I was the same weight. Not quite a pound a week but is is slowly coming off. The more i lose the more determined I am getting. So how did anyone else get on?

slithytove · 25/03/2015 15:53

Well done!

I lost 3lbs yesterday taking me down to 12st 9. That 11 stone something is in sight! I really need to start exercising though as I'm getting very wobbly.

kazzymac · 25/03/2015 19:21

Well done slithy-you are doing brilliantly!
I'm feeling the same as you with regards to the wobbly bits. I did a cardio workout on Saturday-broke a sweat! First time this week that someone at work noticed my weight loss which is great Grinkeeps the motivation going.

lunalovegood84 · 29/03/2015 13:15

Well done ladies. 13 st 2.75 lbs here, down 3.5 lbs in 2 weeks. I feel wobbly too. Never been much of an exerciser tbh. I keep thinking of doing couch to 5k but I now have a job at a school very local to me and the idea of kids I teach seeing me red-faced and sweaty lumbering along the pavement is horrifying! Am at an awkward size now, my 16s are mostly too big but 14 a bit tight.

kazzymac · 31/03/2015 07:23

Well done Luna. I did the couch to 5k k a couple of years ago. Started from barely being able to walk it to running 20mins non stop. Maybe I should restart it? So weigh in day today-put on 3lbs-eek! But I knew that would happen as it was my birthday so the weekend was all about eating and drinking. The positive thing was Monday morning I was straight back to it so hopefully I will loose that pretty swiftly.how did everyone else get on?
