...according to ridiculous, stupid article in Daily Mail today.

(Thought twice about posting this as I already posted a quote from the Mail on Sunday yesterday.
I do not buy that paper, just saw it at my in-laws on Sunday and in the library today. Phew!)

wow Tarantula would love to see you in full costume and bf - do you have discrete feeding flaps??
by the way, my favourite comment from the DM site - that baby is too old to need frequent feeding, shouldn't she be on solids? i.e. take that nipple out of your baby's mouth for god's sake and give her a crunchie!

Nightynight · 11/08/2005 12:12

at Viking costume.

Maybe Daily Mail readers should be invited to consider whether breastfeeding under these circs would be acceptable. Or maybe there weren't any babies in their sanitised view of history!

milward · 11/08/2005 12:15

or a packet of crisps & some cola!!

hunkermunker · 11/08/2005 12:20

Makes you appreciate how intelligent the vast majority of MNers are really

Norks.

Norks · 11/08/2005 12:21

LOL!

Snurk... Or should that be Snorks?

Nightynight · 11/08/2005 12:21

hunker, if you mean in comparison with Daily Mail readers, then Im not sure that is a big compliment....

Norks · 11/08/2005 12:21

Er...goog point, NN!

Norks.

Caligula · 11/08/2005 12:22

Clare from London has just really pissed me off. Have had to post another comment, but I don't know if they'll allow 2!

Norks · 11/08/2005 12:22

Good, even... The namechange has addled my brain!

Norks · 11/08/2005 12:24

People like this mother are bringing Britain down into the gutter. Just like the drunks you see after leaving a pub.

  • Fredrick , Cyprus

FFS!

harpsichordcarrier · 11/08/2005 12:24

we may be intelligent but we've all been sniggering all morning about the word norks... or is that just me?

Norks · 11/08/2005 12:29

Er...no

monkeytrousers · 11/08/2005 12:34

Oh! Go get her Caligula! Change your name.

monkeytrousers · 11/08/2005 12:46

It works BTW, I got two on!

monkeytrousers · 11/08/2005 12:47

Not the one where I'm from Norks, admittedly.

harpsichordcarrier · 11/08/2005 13:04

oh I like that one from Clare! "shoving a bare breast in her face"! bless her and her appallingly obvious sexual hang-ups... in her dreams, I reckon.

snafu · 11/08/2005 13:14

mmm, lots of these comments inadvertently revealing the private peccadillos of DM readers...

Norks · 11/08/2005 13:16

I have one on there - the pity one. I do pity them. They were weaned too early, I bet

Norks forever! PMSL!

Cadmum · 11/08/2005 13:16

Guess I just found out why my children are over-active--NOT. Norkfeeding in crowded places is bad for them! How come my comments aren't there? They must not like barbarians from the colonies...

misdee · 11/08/2005 13:17

"That warder was quite right in asking the woman not to breast-feed so openly. If she wants to feed the baby do it where it will not embarrass others. She might be a 21st century mother, and used to exhibiting herself in public, but generally it is disliked and frowned upon by others.

People like this mother are bringing Britain down into the gutter. Just like the drunks you see after leaving a pub.

  • Fredrick , Cyprus"

WTF?!!

Norks · 11/08/2005 13:18

"I remember when Betty Boothroyd was the speaker in the Commons. Women MP's were demanding the right to breast feed children in the Commons while debates were going on. Boothroyd said no, and said when Tesco allow checkout operators to breast feed while scanning customers shopping I will allow it, until then you have to go to a mother and child room.
Just because it's natural does not mean we have the right to do it in public, having sex or going to the toilet are natural, would you be happy to walk round a palace and see people doing these in public?

  • Jane Dobbie, Edinburgh, UK"

Love that bringing the right to breastfeed while actually at work has been raised - mentalist!

slightlymiffedmoorhen · 11/08/2005 13:21

I pmsl at that one Misdee. What kid of a sick wierdo is that guy? Obviouly DM brings out all the warped people. Gets funnier by the minute

harpsichordcarrier · 11/08/2005 13:22

tbh the thought of seeing people having sex in Hampton Court Palace might just make me consider paying the exhorbitant entrance fee

hercules · 11/08/2005 13:24

lol at comments on mail - I was Jo from Surrey.Lol more at this thread.
Clare was a classsic !

slightlymiffedmoorhen · 11/08/2005 13:25
