Apparently the "technical term" is not breastfeeding nazi/mafia, but BREASTAPO

...according to ridiculous, stupid article in Daily Mail today.

(Thought twice about posting this as I already posted a quote from the Mail on Sunday yesterday.
I do not buy that paper, just saw it at my in-laws on Sunday and in the library today. Phew!)

What gets me though, is that staff memebr probably reads the Sun/Star etc and looks at tits on Page 3 everyday, and I have seen plenty of women with their offensive flabby bellies hanging out for all to see (Not me, I fold my flabby belly up and tuck it in my socks ) and what about those woman who insist on having their horrid crust g strings poking out the top of thir jeans?

moozoboozo · 11/08/2005 09:59

Do you think the Daily Fascist will start a "no norks" campaign?

And will the No Norks HQ be in Bristol City?????

Off the subject slightly, but a while ago someone posted that "baby on board" signs were offensive to couples unable to conceive. They did take it back rather hastily after seeing it immortalised in black and white type.

If you do want to get intimate with a steriliser MD, I have just finished with mine. You could chat to it on a daily basis and take things from there

moondog · 11/08/2005 10:18

Oooh thanks for the offer serah.
Ds is now 13 months and off the boob, crawling around and permanently filthy (Turkey is soooooo dusty-where we live anyway)so it is obviously too late for me. Even passed the breastpumps on to an MNer.

But I do have a tiny carton of Aptamil that I bought for some reason when dd was born, which still sits on my utility room shelf to remind me of what could have been.......

(Blimey, just realised that it's still usable,5 years on... That's creepy isn't it.Imagine ginving your kid something so dead.)

monkeytrousers · 11/08/2005 10:28

"Whatever next? Women running around with norks akimbo in a breastfeeding free for all? Men with their dongers out? Black people being allowed into swimming pools with white people? Homosexuals? What's this world coming to?"

Did you post this on the site Moozo? I think you should!

hunkermunker · 11/08/2005 10:29

So should pregnant women hide in case they upset people by being so obviously fertile?! FFS!

Norks.

serah · 11/08/2005 10:31

yes, get in your cupboard HM.

snafu · 11/08/2005 10:32

Wasn't the argument (on that thread) also that it might upset women who'd had a mastectomy? Logic prevails in the breast/bottle debate, as always.

I'm away to the Daily Wail to think up hilarious and cutting pro-norks soundbites...

monkeytrousers · 11/08/2005 10:41

I just posted two! Will they get through the sensors though..?

monkeytrousers · 11/08/2005 10:42

I might post another one from Paula, Norks, UK.

snafu · 11/08/2005 10:45

"I really hate to see boobs hanging out of t-shirts with a mouth at the end of it."

Fair point though, don't you think? A NORK with a mouth on the end of it would freak me out, too.

pmsl...

fisil · 11/08/2005 10:49

I love the word norks. Dp and I use the word "dorks" to mean "door keys", and when I was breastfeeding as I headed out we would do a quick checklist to make sure we had everything we needed: "Got dorks and norks?"

harpsichordcarrier · 11/08/2005 10:58

LOL! I see from the DM website that Hampton Court has now apologised, so I don't get to send that lovely email I have been composing in the bath. Still, at least I got the chance to read those DM reader comments - hilarious.
So I was thinking, where could I conspicuously bf in order to cause the most annoyance to DM readers?
garden centres, obviously.
NT properties
matinee performances of musicals
Waitrose?
Oh I can't wait till new baby is born so I can feed him/her and my toddler at the same time!
[evil cackling laughter]

snafu · 11/08/2005 10:59

You're better off in Sainsbury's if you want to offend DMers, I reckon...

hunkermunker · 11/08/2005 11:03

Apologised? Anyone post a link to it? Have they also said that norkfeeding's welcome and will be encouraged?

snafu · 11/08/2005 11:05

Says it at the bottom of the link, hm. Although not exactly an apology, but gave the impression that the warden who asked her to move was acting as a lone nork-vigilante...

bundle · 11/08/2005 11:08

haven't had a reply from hampton court yet...

..I wonder how much they edit DM posts...

harpsichordcarrier · 11/08/2005 11:13

right, just off Sainsburys to stand next to the Suns/Stars and get my norks out.
in the interests of political campaigning, natch.
will make sure my big fat pregnant belly is on full display too, hadn't realised until readng the DM comments that that was offensive too. Double whammy, excellent.

Caligula · 11/08/2005 11:15

Ha ha ha another victory for the Breastapo. Today Hampton Court, tomorrow every single NT property in Britain, followed by a thousand years of breastfeeding...

Nyahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahha

Might be

Nightynight · 11/08/2005 11:45

NT properties must be full of Daily Mail readers I'd have thought!

Nork feeding surely most apt for babies brought by storks

monkeytrousers · 11/08/2005 11:56

You from Kent Cali..?

tarantula · 11/08/2005 12:01

Have never had a single complaint at an NT property while bfing dd. Only ever had compliments/comments from adults and questions from interested kids (and a few embarrassed parents trying to explain to said kids too ).

But then it would have looked a bit weird bottle feeding a baby while dressed in full authentic Viking/Saxon kit now wouldnt it? Not sure that they could have shoved me off to the feeding room really
