Can we start a 'club' for extended BFers?

DS just turned 1 last week. I just need some friendly support from other moms who have BF toddlers. I am definitely in the minority in RL!!

I'm a total novice at breastfeding, despite being passionate as all hell about it and women getting the right support to do it comfortably for as long as they want.

Fed DS1 till he self-weaned at nearly 17m and feeding DS2 who's 8.5m. Will feed him as long as he wants, but I'm going back to work next month two days a week (upping to three from January) so will have to get the pump out ).

as so many posts like this end with some enlightened person saying ooh lets have a cappuchino an its ok with me to get yer norks out an bf my child,lets not mind about any health probs...)

Cowmad what do you think "your norks " were made for in the first place? I've never fed past 2yrs and wouldn't dream of letting someone else feed my baby when he was little. Seems like you are the one with the problem are there no interesting threads elsewhere? PS not that I disapprove of bf past 2yrs but each to their own.

Monday is the day of our local bfeeding support
group. Dd & still go regularly, they have a big
playroom & dd is in seventh heaven in there

Was lovely being there today as a new girl came along. Shes only 16 & her ds is 6 wks now, think she had quite a few problems to start with but they're feeding beautifully now. I really admired her for sticking with it, all the young mums she know bottle feed & think she's a bit odd But shes stuck with it & I think that's great

i wish i could of bf my lil boy for longer.
h took to it great for the first 3 months never lost weight just kept gaining.
but at 4mnths he was puttin on less weight then b4,
i was very worried didnt get alot of advice from hv. so changed to formula quickly after wish i hadnt..
well done to you all for keeping it going as it is best for baby
