And Em and Larle - we're all in this together so grab a spoon and crack open the Ben&Jerry's Grin

MrsNPattz · 16/04/2013 23:37

First feed here, this sneaky early feed is annoying!

Yum to Ben and Jerry's - have you guys seen what flavours they have in the states!!

New approach tonight: DH has been much better all day at settling DD, so tonight we're going to do it all together and see what happens. If he can accomplish the miracle of sleep I may need to give him a medal / several Xboxes / Hayden Pannattiere. Fingers crossed...

larlemucker · 17/04/2013 00:02

Fingers crossed giraffe
We're up for first feed, can hardly keep eyes open.

tea I emailed them about steam sterilising and they said to only do the bottles. The rest could be done in cold water, I presume that means use Milton. The instruction book says after the initial boiling you don't need to sterilise, just wash in hot soapy water. Don't know what to do!

larlemucker · 17/04/2013 00:03

Oh and caramel chew chew or phish food for me

Anypants · 17/04/2013 00:23

Cookie dough for me.

Anypants · 17/04/2013 01:25

Still not managed to achieve anything - we're up to 5 transfer fails now. Anyone else up or am I flying solo tonight? Sad

larlemucker · 17/04/2013 01:38

We're up again any

I don't understand why he can't sleep for longer than an hour. This is killing me HmmHmm

Anypants · 17/04/2013 01:46

Me too - attempt number six in progress. Will report back when it fails, again... Angry

larlemucker · 17/04/2013 02:14

Just changed his nappy and he has green, flaky poo. Not normal poo with green bits in it.
Will have to call HV in morning. I've already been to the drs twice today Hmm

milktraylady · 17/04/2013 02:22

Hi everyone, I'm new on this thread. You all sound like you know what you are about Smile

We are on day 3 with minimilk!
Planning to ebf, waiting for my milk to come in.

Can I ask about this transfer thing that's mentioned- do you mean transfer from sleeping on you, to being put into Moses basket!
I've been sitting in the nursery with her snuggled by me & curved cushion- for hours & hours.

Fed at 8pm, 10.30pm & 12.
Too scared to put her in basket in case she wakes & wakes up DH.
He is a complete hero & I want (need) him to get sleep tonight.

We missed 2 nights sleep with the birth, awful 1st night (should have stayed in hospital really) better last night & tonight she's snoozing & not screaming.

What do you suggest? Risk the transfer? I really don't know what to do Hmm

Thanks so much

Emilythornesbff · 17/04/2013 02:27

Ah, Ben & Gerry's mmmmmmm.........

Hi. 1st feed here?? I think. That's good then.
Larle, sometimes hey get green poo with wind, or if hey've not fed as efficiently as normal, or sometimes with a bit of a cold. Does baby mucked have lots of wet nappies? Feeding/ breathing ok?
Little blighters are such a worry aren't they?
Let us know what your HV says.
Hope ypu're all sleeping happily.
Em.

Emilythornesbff · 17/04/2013 02:31

Congratulations milktraylady
Blimey. I would risk the transfer if babymilktray has been asleep for more than 10 mins.
If you think you might fall asleep then make sure your bed is safe (baby not near pillows or under duvet etc.) in case you accidentally fall asleep in the meant, ime.
Good luck with the transfer. You can always pick her up again if she grumbles.
See you soon Grin

larlemucker · 17/04/2013 02:32

Yes emily he is feeding and breathing fine (we are on 4th feed so far tonight).
HV told me that green bits in poo mean colic but he hasn't been colicy, and there isn't any normal poo just the green bits! He seems fine in himself, apart from not sleeping.
Wonder if its something I've eaten.

larlemucker · 17/04/2013 02:35

Welcome milk and congratulations.

Yes transfer means putting them in cot after they have fallen asleep on you! I'd risk it. Do the floppy arm test, if you can pick LOs arm up and drop it and they don't tense then in a deep enough sleep to transfer (just don't let arm drop on LO as may then wake them up!)

Hope you have transfer success and manage to get some sleep

Emilythornesbff · 17/04/2013 02:35

Oh, there's online info about safer bed sharing / night feeding.

Other news: my Medea pump arrived yesterday. Very efficient! Smile

Emilythornesbff · 17/04/2013 02:38

Ah, maybe something you've eaten. larle maybe something of nothing as it were.
4th feed! That's a tough night!
Brew Brew Brew Brew
Is that enough? Anyone else up? (good grief, I really could do with a Brew

MrsNPattz · 17/04/2013 02:38

Second feed here, haven't even had 3 hours sleep in a row yet - this is what kills me! I was hoping swimming had tired him out too. There is still hope if he goes to a sensible hour after this feed who am I kidding

Welcome milk tray lady. Congratulations! Yes transfers are from you to Moses basket/cot. Maybe attempt transfer so you can get some sleep??

Poor baby Larle - please let us know what hv says.

Any hope you are sleeping soundly now!

Emilythornesbff · 17/04/2013 02:40

Ah, "minimilk" cute name.
I second the floppy arm test.

MrsNPattz · 17/04/2013 02:40

Is my little man the oldest baby still waking now??

OP posts:
milktraylady · 17/04/2013 02:48

Thanks for the lovely welcome!
Larle thanks for the arm drop test. Though she is lightly swaddled, as that settles her really fast after a nappy change.

Emily- I had inspiration after reading all your LO mumsnet names Smile

Ok am going to brave putting her in her basket in our bedroom & getting an hours sleep before 4am feed.

DH been asleep since 10.30 so that's a good stretch for him.

abi2790 · 17/04/2013 04:04

Woohoo ds had a good sleep from 8ish to 3:30 Smile . Let's hope this isn't a one-off who am I kidding!

Sorry to all those having a bad night Brew

Congratulations milktraylady.

We have swimming tomorrow so hopefully he will be tired enough to sleep in the day.

SoYoFromKokomo · 17/04/2013 04:11

Evening all

New pack of choc digestives are open & we shared a tub of B&J Cookie Dough earlier.....I'm not sure these 500 extra cals a day you supposedly get from BFing are all supposed to be 'biscuit calories'. Give it another couple of months & I'll be joining the WW massive & stalking MrsN for tips now she's a fully fledged WW professional!

MiniYo has once again gone a lovely, long 10.30-3.40 stretch. Last night I finally got her back off at 4.15 but she was up again at 5. My problem is I only feel as good as my last sleep so at 6 this morning I was in full zombie mode. Shoud have just given in & got up at 5! Fingers crossed for longer this morning. If all else fails we tend to have a co-snooze from 8-9.30 anyway!

Today's aim is to buy some form of baby nail cutting device, she's destroying her face & my chest! Also, how the ell does a 7 week old baby get so much dirt behind her fingernails......?

MrsNPattz · 17/04/2013 05:31

Third feed - not a good night.

OP posts:
larlemucker · 17/04/2013 05:50

soyo try filing them. Baby larle also gets dirty nails, god knows how.
We're up again for feed 3001, that's how it feels.
