A nice shiny new thread!

Hi.
Looks like there's a few tricky nights here tonight.
A quick scroll so sorry if I've missed something important.

larle you did not let him CIO you big silly! He was held and comforted through his crying. Sometimes I think we don't know what's wrong. Tiredness, tummy ache... But he went to slep being rocked and cuddles by daddy. That's not a bad way to go off to sleep in my book.

giraffes cluster feeding central here! Plus failed transfers since around 11pm. Do you thin these babies are all talking to each other on some kind of "babiesnet"? Cheeky monkeys!

goats poor BG. Hope he's all better soon.

That's a good night mrsn and he's had a good stretch in his cot (as it were). Hope you got some good sleep yourself.

babybeesmama glad you've had a better night. Hopefully that new milk has one the trick.

*abi, hopefully you're fast asleep lucky thing.

Well good night to all you wakeful, feeding mums. Going to try for a bit of sleep now babythorne is sleeping after several failed transfers and mini feeds. Smile

Babybeesmama · 16/04/2013 03:34

2 steps forward ....10 back... He's woken up full of snot, coughing his little heart out again :(

larlemucker · 16/04/2013 03:42

Thanks for the reassurance everyone.
We're on our third feed. I'm totally knackered and can't keep eyes open.
Sorry no name checking

SoYoFromKokomo · 16/04/2013 03:47

Well MiniYo was an absolute horror all evening, basically did nothing but scream & feed from 3pm to 9pm. Took her to bed at 9.20 & she fed very noisily with lots of pulling off until 10.45. Was all set for a horror night & she's just woken up at 3.30. That's the longest sleep I've had since she was born! Now we'll see if that's it for the night.

Hope all the babies with coughs & poorly tummies improve quickly!

Fingers crossed all these babies are bak to sleep for a good few hours yet.

Emilythornesbff · 16/04/2013 03:53

Still awake here too. Someone put the kettle on. Brew
Hope babybees is ok.

SoYoFromKokomo · 16/04/2013 04:05
Anypants · 16/04/2013 04:15

Oh yes, i'll have me one of those Brew
First feed here since the not-so-dream-feed and, although i've had three and a half hours' sleep (in a row!) I still feel shattered. Still, no evil plans in force from DD yet. Don't mind if I do Biscuit Biscuit Biscuit

GiraffesAndButterflies · 16/04/2013 04:45

And here's me being good eating oatcakes... Sod that, pass those digestives over Grin

I like the idea of 'babiesnet', and that has made me want to go and reread the cutted up pear thread... Except I fear I would keep DD awake by laughing!

MrsNPattz · 16/04/2013 05:48

Second feed, I must have been in a deep sleep cause I'm shattered!

Another mixed bag of nights, these babies like to keep us guessing don't they!!

thanks! Lol

IAmJacksRagingBileDuct · 16/04/2013 06:53

Any digestives left? Yum :)

larle you did not CIO, he was being comforted and as giraffes says even if you are crying inconsolably its far better to do it with a cuddle than alone. I always say I'd rather my girls cry in my arms than alone in their bed, at least that way you're doing all you can and sometimes you try everything but it just doesn't work. You are a wonderful mum don't let it get you down.

giraffes I think of that thread every time I have to ask the dreaded "would you like me to cut it up for you" to dd1 who has been known to meltdown spectacularly when presented with banana in an incorrect manner Confused

Had a good start to the night, 7pm until half 2 but then awake at half 4 for a top up feed, and at 6 I brought her into bed as that usually gets us another hour but instead she vommed all over me/the bed/herself so we've had to get up instead and do the washing. Hoping possibly might get a little nap in an hour or so though

larlemucker · 16/04/2013 07:22

We're up again. He has fed ever hour and a half tonight. I am exhausted

GiraffesAndButterflies · 16/04/2013 08:29

You poor thing larle. Can anyone take your LO today and give you a chance for a nap?

larlemucker · 16/04/2013 12:19

Unfortunately giraffethere isn't any family that can help.
However to cheer me up I've just come home to a letter from work confirming I can go back 4 days a week instead of full time come September.Grin

abi2790 · 16/04/2013 18:59

Sorry you had a bad night larle Flowers

DS is having his bedtime feed. He's asleep at the minute but not going to put him down until I know he won't wake up.

Does anyone have any tips on dribble rash? I do my best to keep his face dry but his rash is getting worse Sad

Anypants · 16/04/2013 19:10

On the bedtime feed here too although i'm not holding on to the hope that yesterday was anything other than a fluke. DD's been rubbish today - very short naps and feeding every two hours. Praying I have time to make dinner after I put her down before she's up again Envy
Sleep is so overrated.

larlemucker · 16/04/2013 19:45

Agree any sleep is overrated!

abi HV said Vaseline. We bought some oils from a organic shop in the village, it's solid and a mixture of avocado, coconut and something else. DS has rash on chest, it's still a little dry but redness has gone. If you want the details of the shop PM me. All the stuff is made on site, putting it on baby larle has helped my dry hands too!!

abi2790 · 16/04/2013 19:46

I know how you feel AnyPants. DS has been shattered all day yet he refuses to sleep! He then gets really tired and acts like it's my fault!

DS did go to sleep in his crib but then woke up whilst I was having a shower. He's now back on my boob again.

The annoying thing about it staying light longer is the parents on the street think it's alright to have their kids shouting in the street until 9 o' clock Angry

MrsNPattz · 16/04/2013 20:17

Bed time feed here - hopefully!

I lost 1.5lb at WW today taking my total loss to 21.5lb. I'm happy now so now I am going to try and maintain!

Then we were back at Water Babies this afternoon after Easter break - little man was very good!

We lost our Sophie the Giraffe today in the wind - sad times Sad

Larle ouch that's a tough night - hope tonight is better!

OP posts:
Anypants · 16/04/2013 20:18

I can top that - i've just heard an ice-cream van go past, ffs. Although, i'm that tired, i'm tempted to go and get one... If only he came round at 3am Grin

TeaandHobnobs · 16/04/2013 21:05

Mmmm ice cream.

That's good news about work larle! Smile Hope you don't get a repeat tonight.

Sorry about Sophie MrsN Sad well done on your weight loss, you have done so well Flowers

Abi that is really annoying of your neighbours, I remember that happened where we lived when I was younger - makes it really hard to get to sleep, especially when there are little ones who need early bedtimes.

Sadly I think that sleeping through the other night was just a precursor to a virus Sad DS has been running a temp for over 24 hrs now - it got up to 39.7 this afternoon which was really starting to worry me, but once I could give him another dose of nurofen it went down again very quickly. He went to bed with it slightly raised, but having had calpol, so I hope that will keep it under control for a few hours. He's only in his nappy and at least the weather is mild enough to have the window open too. I hope the fever is gone by tomorrow afternoon, when he had one a few weeks ago with croup it only lasted 48 hours. Fingers crossed.

Now waiting for DH to get home so we can have some sodding dinner not at all tempted to go make toast, not at all

larlemucker · 16/04/2013 21:26

Well done on weight loss MrsN.

I've just eaten a big bag of giant buttons, too knackered to care about WW!! I needed something to make me feel better!

Thankfully all the kids on our cul-de-sac are either older teenagers or under 5.

Please god let us have a better night!!

larlemucker · 16/04/2013 21:27

Oh tea how do you sterilise your ameda lactiline?

Emilythornesbff · 16/04/2013 21:41

Evening girls.

So tired.
Hope you all have a good night.
Em.

TeaandHobnobs · 16/04/2013 21:54

larle I have a steam steriliser - just do the flanges (is that what they are called?), the valves and the bits that pop in the top (why do I not know what they are called?!), no need to do the tubes or caps. Oh and the bottles of course Grin I think I have managed to squeeze them into my microwave steriliser before, although perhaps not all in one go.

If you don't have a steriliser, you can make a microwave one by using a tupperware box with the lid on, but make a small hole in the lid - you then add 100ml of water and microwave for 4 mins. Or you can boil in a pan - best if you can have something for the bits to stand on, I melted one of my bottles by forgetting that Sad

Does that help?

Anypants · 16/04/2013 23:28

Well, I was right about little miss Anypants saving her evil plan. We had a poonami earlier which called for a bath at 3pm. That's thrown everything out the window as, aside from a snooze in the pram on a walk at about 4, she will not give in to sleep. She was screaming through Eastenders and Holby City so I Sky+'d them for the inevitable night shift she has in store for me later. Winner.Brew
