Hellooooo!

Just checking in and marking my spot! Not posted in ages sadly not due to large quantities of sleep, in fact now getting less probably as back at work on nightsSad Missmarbles is improving. DH is suffering bit I think me not being around at night has actually helped. He said she grizzles on sometimes but he thinks it may be in her sleep anyway. In essence I may have been too quick to get out of bed. She certainly wasn't hysterical in my absence and has been doing some self settling. It will be I retesting to see what she is like tonight as each night has been better than before apparently.

Well done MrsNGrin I have joined WW online tonight. Have done SW in the past but have no motivation at the minute so thought a change of plan might help. I certainly do want shot of my excess 21lb.

Night night all so much for my early night tonight

Well done MrsN that brilliant news.
Went to cinema in the end, DH in a massive mood about it and won't talk to me. Been asleep half an hour and DS woken up hungry.

Hope everyone has good nights.

Oh and take a look at the AIBU yoni thread!!

Aarrgghh stressed and tired :( DS has been awake since 12 and we've had 2 transfer fails probably going to be three. He is a good self-settler too but for some reason he doesn't want to sleep he just wants to play :(

Glad you got to go to the cinema larle. DH will get over it :) What did you see?

DS has just fallen asleep again. Wish me luck!

Congratulations Mrs N, excellent news! Hope you're going to plan a suitable celebration!

The Yoni thread is one of the funniest things I've read in a long time, there's some seriously witty women around these parts!

Second feed here & she seems a bit agitated. I've had an upset stomach this evening & really hoping she hasn't got it too otherwise it'll make for a wakey night & some very interesting nappies!

Hope you successfully transferred abi

I went to see the host. Not great but ok. As I was leaving the dog barked, I went back on to make sure he hadn't woken DS and he barked some more. That's when DH told me to get out. I then got a text saying that DS was still asleep, no thanks to me.
He also said that he doesn't want to do 10.5 hours at work to come home and be shouted at for some slight.
Earlier in the day he had asked if I had left him any milk. I told him I had 2.5 oz in fridge but DS had been feeding all afternoon. His response "well I'm going to have a fun night then" so I said I wouldn't go.
Eventually after some tooing and froing I got back "we'll cope".

I know I was probably being over sensitive but it felt as if I was being guilt tripped for going out. There were more comments when he got home about how little milk I had left him.
When I said I wouldn't go I got shouted at and told to go. Couldn't win Hmm

I have to point out that DH is off work today (Friday) and me and DS are out all day so he has the house to himself for the day.

Think the underlying cause of this is DTD. I'm too knackered every night and don't feel very attractive with the jelly belly and stretch marks (and huge bags under my eyes). I also had an episiotomy, tear and stitches so things just don't feel quite right down there (maybe I need a yoni massage ). Sorry if TMI

Was I being over sensitive! Also DS was asleep when I got in and he only had the milk I left, the emergency formula is still in the cupboard.

Sorry very me,me,me

Hope you're all sleeping

Sounds like DH is being very insensitive larle. We all need a break sometimes and it's not your fault you couldn't get much milk.

DS finally went to sleep at 2 but just woke up again at 4. I'm going to be a zombie at baby massage! I hope it doesn't take another two hours to get him to sleep.

Argh, so much for staying awake for night feeds, I just woke up on the sofa with DD :( :( so disappointed and annoyed with myself!! Angry That's about 3 hours we've been here I suspect. Damn!!!

Congratulations MrsN on your new job Grin

larle YANBU, it does sound to me like your DH was trying to guilt trip you :( I would have been pretty upset and pissed off in your shoes.

Hello to those of you I haven't met yet :)

I am totally intrigued to read what a couple of you have said about your DC 'straining'. DD makes an almost squeaky, straining type noise when we try to put her down, it usually starts while she's still asleep and then she wakes herself up as if in pain. HV said wind and told us to get infacol which is helping a bit, but frankly DH and I have been wondering wtf is going on!

It's the main cause of our sleepless nights tbh, DD goes to sleep ok and we can usually manage a transfer, but 20 mins later she will wake up with squeaky groany noises. Help!!

Just up again but after her 1.30 feed she had 4 failed transfers, lots of wailing & finally went to sleep at 4 so I'm shattered. Urgh.

Larle he's being a knob. How long ago did you have LO? I'm now 6.5 weeks & not ready, my epis healed quickly but still sometimes just feels pully & is sensitive plus frankly I'm just too knackered. Luckily DH feels the same, at the moment we'd both rather have an extra 15mins kip! Also he needs to realise you've both been working all day & so free time needs to be split. DH said after 2nd day back when I handed him the screaming baby "but I've just got in from work....", I think when I looked at him like Hmm & asked if he'd rather have swapped he realised he was BU.

Larle I agree that he's being a bit of a dick but I think it's a standard defensive manoevre from a DH. Mine reacts similarly when I want to go out (just to do a supermarket shop) which seems to be down to a slight resentment of the decision to bf as it's the one thing he can't do and he panics that there won't be enough ebm. He'll get over it, esp as he obviously didn't have a problem while you were out in the end so it may not have been as bad as he was imagining - it's the fear of the unknown. This baby malarkey has certainly changed my DH so I never know quite how he's going to react but, aside from a few wobbles, he's doing far better than I thought he would and is very good at pulling me down from the ceiling when we're having one of those nights.
FYI I am waiting until after my check up before I even consider letting him near me as it's all been rearranged downstairs and the tiredness is killing the mood. i'm quite fond of a really good cuddle though as it's a nice change to hold someone the same size as me and not have them burp over my shoulder... Grin
Sending you more hugs and Biscuit

Congratulations on the job MrsN, fantastic news!

larle that is so not on about your DH making you feel bad for "not leaving enough milk". It's his job as a daddy to find his own way to settle babylarle, you were only at the cinema for gods sake, not like you were out all day! Am very Angry on your behalf. I wouldn't be surprised if his mood is connected to the DTD thing though, we have the same issue (DS is almost a year and we still haven't done it Blush). At the moment I am slightly off the hook as we are trying to get DS to sleep through the night in his own room (which is utterly knackering), but I know as soon as we are successful the pressure will be back on. It is really tough so you have my sympathy Flowers

Feeling like such a failure as a mother today, there's so much that needs to change and if I had got it right in the first place we wouldn't be in this mess. He doesn't nap long enough in the day and he will only nap on me or when he's in his pushchair out walking. Just tried to transfer him to his cot and he woke each time crying. I need to break the feed to sleep cycle. I want to stop the night feeds. I just don't know how to do any of it because I hate leaving him to cry. Tonight we are going to try an earlier bed time, and then a dream feed and then hubby getting up with him in the night instead of me feeding him. Dreading it already. I just don't know what to do if he won't settle with out me feeding him.

Hello, just running in quickly in between running after a speedily crawling baby who also tries to pull himself up on anything that isn't a floor. A few bumps had already...
Congratulations Mrsn ! You will be fab. Lucky group who gets you.
larle that is indeed Angry of your DH. Agree that it is to do also with feeling a bit helpless because they can't breastfed, but it really isn't rocket science to realise that you are on call 24/7 and working incredibly hard!
Hello tea lovely to see you although Sad that you have not yet graduated! Hope it's just around the corner with the cc.
Argh. Got to rescue the mountaineer. See you all later!

Uggghh last night was terrible! DS woke up at 12 then went back to sleep at 2. He then woke up at 4 and didn't get to sleep until 6! He's having his bedtime feed now cos he's shattered which hopefully means he'll have a good sleep.

Sorry your feeling down MrsN. Hope you get a good night's sleep Smile

MrsN total sympathies, I am also grappling with DD not sleeping except on me/in pram. Just had a failed transfer, am desperate for some sleep- and so is she I think, poor mite keeps being woken by me putting her down!

So I guess what I'm unhelpfully saying is that if you're a bad mother I must be too!

Abi good luck for tonight!

Aww mrsn don't feel bad! You are doing amazing!! Don't worry about it all! My advice with naps is to try baby whisperer ssh pat, I could never get bb to nap unless on me & I was amazed how quick it worked, just laying him on his side and patting between shoulder blades but picking up if he cried. He slept longer if he went to sleep in the cot rather than in my arms. long naps will come, we still have days where he only does 45 mins and other where its 2 hours! DD much better thanks, just tired but we are at DM's tonight so she's getting lots of cuddles! Don't be sad! XxxThanks

mrsn sometimes it can just be the release from stress, whether its a good stress or bad, I think. Just take care of yourself and give yourself time to recover from the last few weeks.
