A nice shiny new thread!

OP posts:
SoYo · 15/05/2013 02:17

I'm wondering the same Any because we're definitely going backwards here. A few weeks ago she would reliably go 4-5.5hrs after first feed. I'm just hoping we don't go too much further backwards. I've just put her down but I can already tell she won't settle, plus I can hear her tummy gurgling so a full nappy cant be far off. Urgh.

Anypants · 15/05/2013 02:24

The only thing I can think is she had a bit more sleep today (yesterday) and her bedtime was brought forward a bit (despite her still not actually falling asleep at the usual time). I will stretch her out a bit more today and get her to bed a wee bit later to see if it makes a difference.

Anypants · 15/05/2013 02:25

until the usual time, obviously Envy

abi2790 · 15/05/2013 03:06

We've finally had some success tonight. Ds slept from around 8:30 to 2:30. I knew it was just a growth spurt and not readiness for solids Smile.

Had more silly comments about solids today Sad. "___ gave her baby porridge ages ago and he's younger than Ds." "He'll be really picky with foods if you don't give him anything." Arrrrggghhh Angry.

Ds is not very happy with me. Dp clearly didn't put his nappy on properly earlier in the evening as he was drenched when I got him out of his cot so I had to change his sleepsuit and grobag. He screamed at me the whole time in hunger. Dp is still fast asleep though Shock.

Hope everyone is fast asleep now.

larlemucker · 15/05/2013 04:42

First feed here. Baby larle has slept for 6 hours!!! Still on our bed though! Tomorrow night it's back into the cot!!

Bought some weaning spoons today to let him play with and get used to. Went to put it in his mouth, like he was being fed, mouth wide open! Sucked on spoon and chewed it!! Think that's a good sign!! 3 days to go!!!!

Well done MrsN, it's my weigh in day tomorrow.

Busy day tomorrow so glad he has slept well, we're going to a free rhythm time session in the morning and in the afternoon we're off to antenatal class to tell them about booby group.

Hope you're all sleeping

SoYo · 15/05/2013 05:16

We're trying not to do too much sleeping here. I think she's worried I'll end up spoilt! Our current speciality is the transfer fail....I think if it was an Olympic sport no other country would stand a chance!

Anypants · 15/05/2013 05:26

Up again. So - we're back to only going for three hours at night, are we? Splendid Envy
She's not even feeding properly now so she's not that hungry, but i've been losing the feeling of my hand for the last hour, with it on her chest, in her basket next to me but she's just started kicking off. And to top it all, I think i'm getting a cold. Aaaaaatchooooo. Brilliant. I'm in for a fun few days......

SoYo · 15/05/2013 05:30

Ah Any, at least you're not alone. I've got a cold too! Been chugging paracetamol & covering myself in carvol for 2 days. Fun!

Miss just had a full feed, looked nicely sleepy, failed transfer, had a massive poo, became fully wide awake while I changed her, all smiles & ready to start the day & is obviously not interested in more food because the magic refilling boobs are empty. Sad

lazzaroo · 15/05/2013 05:45

Morning all! So 99% sure that little one has chicken pox. Has cold symptoms & few more spots this morning. Will get to dr's to be sure but seeing as her sister is just getting over it, it's pretty likely. Hope we prove the bf theory right & it stays mild.

She slept in with me last night & was understandably unsettled. Happy as larry at the mo though! The pox means we won't be able to get out & about so may have to try & call in my mum as back up to entertain dd1!

Newmum2013 · 15/05/2013 05:45

We are up again after ds finally falling asleep at 4am. Wonder if by some miracle he will fall asleep now til 8? Hope so!

Anypants · 15/05/2013 06:46

And once more, with feeling. Clearly didn't give her enough an hour ago (15 mins and she got sleepy) so she's up and loud, again. Still, i'm getting to watch the gale blowing my garden to bits. DH is up now as well so when i'm done he can change and settle her.
Welcome, newmum. Did you bring cake?

larlemucker · 15/05/2013 07:45

Oh no poor baby lazza, hope it is just a mild case.

We were only up for one feed last night!! Miracles do happen!! It does mean I have one massive boob this morning!!

Sorry for all the bad nights, I have WW lemon cake or tunnocks tea cakes

Newmum2013 · 15/05/2013 07:49

I did bring cake but eat it along the way due to tiredness and grumpiness! Poor little man up again and trying his best to smile even though he's clearly not well.

He's really bunged up and has a chesty cough and bringing up a lot of mucus. Don't think there's anything I can give him as he's only 5 weeks

Emilythornesbff · 15/05/2013 08:03

Ah poor sleepy mums out there.

Co sleeping has made for a reasonable night here but ......
tunnocks tea cakes!!! Any left???

Where was I? Oh yes, fed around 11' then maybe 2 and 6. Good I 'spose. Fasting today and already feel hungry Grin

larlemucker · 15/05/2013 08:57

NewMum you can use a saline nasal spray from boots, baby larle hated it but it cleared his nose so he could breathe when feeding. You might be able to use a karvol plug in or something too. Hope your little one feels better soon.

Emily there's tea cakes left, are you allowed one on a fasting day?Wink

MrsNPattz · 15/05/2013 13:30

Not the best night last night again, I tried to go back into our room with hubby (I have been sleeping in nursery), but little man woke at 10:30, 11 and 12 so I just went and co slept with him after that.

Hi Brain!

Good luck at weigh in Larle!

OP posts:
abi2790 · 15/05/2013 15:57

Newmum- Ds has just gotten rid of a really nasty cold. I agree that the saline nasal drops are really good since you can't give paracetamol. It's horrible when they're not well :(

Hope you get back in your bed with DH soon MrsN.

Ds is having a good nap now so I'm crossing fingers for another successful night.

larlemucker · 15/05/2013 19:29

I lost 1lb!

Worried about my friend who comes with me though as she now weighs more than we she started Shock

Newmum2013 · 15/05/2013 20:18

Thanks for advice. Have been and bought
the nasal drops so hopefully they will help the poor little man. I've come up to bed early in hope of catching some sleep before the night shift but he's awake already!

Hope everyone gets some sleep!

Anypants · 15/05/2013 20:51

The colic is back. Nuff said.

Emilythornesbff · 15/05/2013 21:32

Poor baby lazzaro hope she gets over it soon poor lamb.

Well done larle good work losing that Lb.

any Sad have a choccy biscuit with that coffee.

I put babythorne to bed an hour ago

newmum I hope you get some sleep.

soyo hope you're better soon.

abi Angry at ppl talking rubbish. Just tell them you're going to wait until he's old enough to order his own pizza.

Goodnight all.

SoYo · 15/05/2013 21:49

Thanks Em, still snotty but definitely feeling less rubbish.

Emilythornesbff · 15/05/2013 22:02

Hi soyo

First feed here.
That is all.

MrsNPattz · 15/05/2013 22:06

First feed here. I'd been asleep about an hour and struggled to get up and not just co sleep but gonna try and avoid that for as long as possible tonight to see what happens!!

OP posts:
larlemucker · 15/05/2013 22:19

MrsN we're doing the same tonight. DS is back in cot, fingers crossed for us both.

New bed comes tomorrow so last night in the bed in which baby larle was conceived!!! Sorry if TMI!!!
