A nice shiny new thread!

They're crap sometimes aren't they Any, if this bubba wasn't breastfed & would take a bloody bottle I'd leave him with her for 24hrs & let him see how difficult it is!

First waking here which is the longest it's been for an age. Think it's because I've left the window open & te rooms pretty cold tonight. Her ands are cold but the rest of her feels lovely & snug.

SoYo · 09/05/2013 03:55

Spoke too soon,transfer fail.

larlemucker · 09/05/2013 04:17

any sorry to hear that, they are so thoughtless sometimes.
We've given up on the book as he screams his head off when we try isn't keen.

We gave in tonight and co-slept and the beginning of the night, took 2 hours to get baby larle to sleep, he was asleep for about 30 mins and then up again wailing. Fed again and watched a bit of the apprentice, transferred then started crying 10 mins later. DH got up to rock him but everytime he went to transfer DS woke up.
Put him in bed with us, slept 3 hours!!
He has just managed an hour and a half in his cot too.
Si this might have to be what we do from now on, DH is worried it'll teach him bad habits but at the min I don't care I just want some sleep.

Sorry for the bad nights out there. Keeping a bit of sleepy dust obviously helped!!

Emilythornesbff · 09/05/2013 04:42

any grrrrr. Men can be so very rubbish and annoying can't they. Hope you are sleeping now.

We're co sleeping as I czn't bear the transfer fails.ds was the same, would go in his cot for "bedtime" but I found it really hard to settle him after subsequent feeds.

Soyo, dd gets to share ds's bedtime story. Pooh tonight. I always read to him. I think he liked it.
Well done on getting some sleep larle what are these men of ours like with their "helpful" comments and child are expertise? I reckon it would be back to brandy in baby bottles if thy had responsibility for ll this night time parenting.

Emilythornesbff · 09/05/2013 04:50

Dh just woke up. "emergency Mumsnet meeting is it?" Grin
Straight back to sleep Envy

Oh I really fancy a Brew.

Fwiw transfers for us work better if I wait for a deep sleep (not guaranteed though) but I can't manage to wait that long during the night
I think she misses her grobag too, but I was worried it was too warm for tonight.

Sleep well fellow night owls.

abi2790 · 09/05/2013 05:14

Glad you got some sleep larle. Don't worry about creating bad habits. You're sleep is more important!

Sorry to those having bad nights Brew. Our night hasn't been great either. This is our 2nd feed (just as we'd gone nearly a week of sleeping through. I think it might be his cold waking him as he's really upset when he wakes and has a phlegmy cough. Luckily I'm feeling much better so I've managed to cope with the extra feeds Smile

SoYo · 09/05/2013 07:08

So pleased you got some sleep Larle, tell your DH if he's worried about bad habits how about he takes over the nights & makes sure those good habits are instilled, otherwise do what you need to survive & be happy. You've never met a co-sleeping teenager have you? It'll be fine!

After our initial 10.45-3.30 stretch we were then up at 5.30 and 6.45 and I think this is us for the day. At least we had one good bit!

Emilythornesbff · 09/05/2013 07:45

Oh good grief. I think dd would sleep for longer but ds had me up at 5:30 this morning. Dh is still in bed.
Just saying.

larlemucker · 09/05/2013 09:00

soyo that's a good idea! Don't think he would manage more than a couple of hours! I go back to work for the last week of term and DH has baby larle for the week, I wonder how long he'll cope till he goes to his mums!!

Hope you all manage to get your own back on DHs catch up on sleep today

Babybeesmama · 09/05/2013 09:40

Sorry for absence! I have tonsillitis :( but have been told by a nurse at walk in centre that I don't meet the new strict criteria to be given antibiotics, I need more pus on tonsils & a higher temperature. Ridiculous. So pissed off, holiday in a few days :( my throat is killing. X

MrsNPattz · 09/05/2013 11:59

Poor you Amey - get better soon!!

I'm an emotional wreck about leaving little man later for the weekend Sad

OP posts:
larlemucker · 09/05/2013 12:08

Oh amey hope you get better soon, get some chloroseptic throat spray (think that is what it's called)

MrsN why are you going away? I'm sure your little man will be fine, your boobs will probably suffer the most!!!! Big (((hugs)))

MrsNPattz · 09/05/2013 12:47

It's a weekend workshop for my WW leader training. I'm looking forward to it but feel so sad right now, gonna miss him so much. I know, I'm going to have to express a lot!!

OP posts:
larlemucker · 09/05/2013 16:18

Major boo boo today, changing baby larles nappy. Picked him up to pull his trousers up, as I went to put him back down, I'm not sure what happened but his head hit the change mat/change table with a massive bang Shock. A split second later he started crying. I still feel sick. He is fine now but there is a little bruise on the back of his head.

I feel awful, my poor boy. Hmm

MrsNPattz · 09/05/2013 17:49

Hand hold please, am on the train after leaving my little man. Bit of a wreck Sad

OP posts:
larlemucker · 09/05/2013 17:52

Here's a hand MrsN, he will be fine

SoYo · 09/05/2013 20:04

Hope you feel better soon Amey, Difflam spray from the chemist will numb your throat and gargling with dispersible aspirin helps.

Another hand to hold MrsN. He'll be fine and you'll be able to get some proper sleep & recharge for lots of fun with him next week.

Hand for you too Larle, I caught DDs on the stair gate the other day & felt terrible but as you say he's fine & it'll be gone from him memory but stay in yours for a bit. Think of all the bangs & scrapes they'll give themselves swinging too high, climbing trees & building dens once they're a bit bigger (& sleeping better)!

I'm trying to start bedtime an hour earlier than the rest of the week just to see how we get on because she was looking tired (although isn't now, typical) & I didn't want her to nap just before bed. Wish us luck!

larlemucker · 09/05/2013 20:06

Our bedtime has gone to pot, baby larle screamed when I lay him down to go to sleep so he is now downstairs watching game of thrones!!

MrsNPattz · 09/05/2013 22:52

Here safe and sound. Just expressed and now off to bed. Will check in tomorrow! Hope you have good nights xx

Emilythornesbff · 10/05/2013 01:32

I hope you're feeling better babybees tonsillitis is horrible. Maybe the pharmacist can give you something.

larle how's baby larle? This parenting malarkey is an emotional roller coaster right?

Poor toddlerthorne just woke up crying (thankfully dh went to him) and now I'm worried that his day was too much because he had quite a long walk and no nap today. Sad. Luckily he's back sleeping now, poor sausage. (see? Guilt -roller coaster.)

So I'm waiting for babythorne to be in a deep enough sleep to avoid another transfer ail. OMG I am so tired lately. Sometimes it really catches up.

mrsn sleep well. Your lovely little man will be fine, as you know. Enjoy the "break" you deserve it.

Emilythornesbff · 10/05/2013 01:56

Transfer fail Sad

lazzaroo · 10/05/2013 02:10

Evening all. Up for second feed. She fed at 7pm before bed & then slept till 10.30. Has just woken again but has been in her cot the whole night so far! I don't think I'll be so lucky after this feed!

Hope all is quiet elsewhere.

SoYo · 10/05/2013 02:44

So initially got her to sleep at 8.30 & I had some Wine and a natter so didn't go to bed until 11. Fed at 11.15 & up at 2.20 but one transfer fail so far. Hope I haven't ruined the rest of the night by bringing bedtime forward. Here we go again with the transfer!

larlemucker · 10/05/2013 03:08

We've co-slept up till now, first waking. Massive feed and transfer fail.
Having other boob now so hopefully I can fill him up!

Had a massive screaming fit early during a nappy change. He was in pain, hoping its teething and not the memory if hitting his head!
Apart from that he has been fine so u don't think there is any lasting damage.

MrsN enjoy your uninterrupted sleep!!

Emilythornesbff · 10/05/2013 03:28

Hi.
Another feed. I'm so tired. This is the worst time because I know that I have a narrow window of opportunity to sleep as DS will be up at the crack of dawn.

Hope you got back to sleep larle soyo and lazz
Shhh. Let's not wake mrsn Wink
