I enjoyed about 2.5 hours' sleep in the end - I have a bad cold and kept waking up parched or struggling to breathe through my nose Sad. but feeling better than before!

larle sorry it was hard today but it will be worth making sure baby grows up knowing about his grandma. I can't imagine how hard it must be to lose your mum, though I guess one day I will have to find out. it comes to us all in the end. More hugs.

Babyfunch having a big nap after refusing to sleep at the cm's save two ten minute stints. Oh dear. I foresee a bad night now. CM reports that babyfunch has become aware enough to do an attention seeking cry....I know it isn't fashionable to say this on MN but I agree - sometimes she just wants a cuddle!

Oh larle I'm sorry i missed the part about your mum, it must be so hard. funch baby small sometimes just wants a cuddle too, I think all babies do, all part and parcel of being so tiny I think. I sometimes want a cuddle too if I'm honest!!
Baby small is going to bed now. I might try that tip amey about waking them. We've managed to get the morning nap in the cot with shush patting but its still only 30 minutes and then he wakes tired. Am working one nap at a time so will sort this one before we move on to lunchtime nap.

So sorry those if you who have lost parents Thanks I'm lucky to be close to both mine and DH's and the thought of losing them is hard, big hugs to you all.

larle I thought I was bonkers for thinking that about bra straps but yes both babylump now and dd1 as a baby seemed to be tuned to it! Why do they have to click so loudly?!

small hope you get your job situation sorted, what type of business are you thinking of?

funch hooray for a few hours uninterrupted sleep :) Hope you get lots more tonight.

goat how're the raspberries going?!

Who mentioned ginger shortbread?' Yes please Grin

Just feeding and about to attempt transfer, hoping to go to the cinema tonight with my sister, will be first time leaving DH with babylump and a bottle of ebm as previously he and DM have done it together. I know he's a fully capable grown man but for some reason I'm still fretting.

See you all later, good luck all round.

Hi all, I'm hoping it's bed time here as I'm shattered after last night! Hoping for an easier night tonight.

I walked to the Drs which felt good. The Dr looked at my sore side and doesn't think it's thrush, I'm just to keep an eye on his latch but it's actually getting better! She also said that as I'm feeling better mentally it must be the tablets kicking in now and it should only get better.

How are you feeling Amey?

Hope you enjoy the cinema Heff - what are you going to see?

Oh dear first wake up so sat here in the dark, not hungry just wanted cuddling.
An upholstery business heff so curtains, chair coverings, soft furnishings. Stuff i can do at home on a machine, dog beds anything really. I don't need to make loads. My wage after childcare costs and commuting money would be tiny anyway so I only need to make the tiny amount as baby small wouldn't need childcare. Any of you need curtains making?!

amey what download is that? Is it an app?

Sorry not to name check. Reading what everyone is up to but can't face typing out a long reply on my teeny phone screen.

Sleepy dust to all of you and babies [smile|

Hello, loving the shiny new thread.

Haven't managed to read through it all yet and missed the end of the last thread, so apologies for not name checking everyone.

Sorry to hear of your losses larle and goat Thanks

A better night last night, thank goodness. Hoping for the same tonight.

Sleepy wishes for us all tonight, I going to attempt transfer now so will be back on later I am sure.

Looking like a bad night already for me :( he has a horrible dry cough which keeps waking him up!

Brain its a book download for kindle/iPad kindle app called the no cry sleep solution, I'm just taking the bits I think are good from it, I'd never thought of going in before they wake up too early from nap so they don't get chance to properly wake themselves up. Its got some good strategies in it.... Will keep you posted on progress! X

Mrsn I am starting to feel much better thank you, still have days where I feel anxious & a bit low but nothing like last week. Made it to baby massage today! Glad yours are kicking in too & you feel a bit better! X

Thank you for all the kind words Thanks.
Baby larle has had an extra bottle today to see if it will help him sleep, so far it has worked. I feel awful giving him formula as I really wanted to ebf but I just don't seem to make enough for him, I can feed him all afternoon but he'll still be hungry so doesn't sleep for long.
We've also ordered a travel cot today in the hope that we can get our bed back! Not enough room in a double for the 3 of us and I think he won't sleep in his Moses basket as its too narrow and he hits the sides in his sleep.
small you must be quite talented (and patient) to do that. Can you make a christening gown out of a wedding dress?!!
Dh been baking so as well as ginger shortbread there's honeycomb tiffin, chocolate chip and raison cookies or mocha marble cake. Send in your orders for tonights feeds!

Yay for MrsN and Amey feeling a little better Smile

We've been back on 9pm and 2:30am screamfests the last few days (as well as a feed when I go to bed around 11pm), but DS has been pretty much asleep since 8pm now, so things are looking a bit better, I hope.

He has been a right monkey at napping in the day lately, especially if we are out - I have to sacrifice my phone to put it in his buggy playing white noise in order to get him to sleep!

Still haven't moved him out of our room at 9m. I keep saying to DH that we will, but I will miss him Sad

Honeycomb tiffin for meeeeeeeeeeeeee please!!! Disastrous night already- baby small feels he needs our kingsize bed in order to be able to sleep Confused. Screams blue murder when transferred to cot, sleeps soundly on our bed though even though I'm not in it yet- just how does he know the difference?
Not talented larle but acceptable with a sewing machine. Although I will need to go on a proper upholstery course so I can be sure I'm doing things properly if in going to charge people for it.
Going to attempt to get into bed without waking sleeping beauty

Wow larle your DH sounds useful in the kitchen! mocha marble cake for me please!

Sooo pleased mrsn and amey to hear you are feeling better...long may it continue!

I have downloaded the no cry sleep solution too, will start reading it tomorrow.

babyfunch was sooo tired this evening but DH managed to delay bedtime to 8.30, our new earliest bedtime, while I went to a residents' association meeting. I went in to dream feed her (going to try it again for a week to see if it helps her sleep longer) but she was so sound asleep I couldn't bring myself to wake her! I am not usually such a softie! So now in bed nursing horrible cold and anticipating a crap night of nose blowing, dry mouth and baby comforting. hope all of you have lovely sleepy babies!

Ah. Thanks amey. Thought someone had invented an app that would solve all our problems!

Ooh larle. Tiffin for me please. I made some glace cherry loaf cake yesterday which has nearly all gone already.

Not doing well with babybrain. No idea what the problem is. Finally put down for bed at 9.30. Up at 10.30, now again at 11pm. Wakes crying even though he's so tired he's dropping to sleep on my shoulder, which he hasn't done for months. Not giving any signs to the problem -no chewing, pulling up legs or anything just tears Sad. Even woke after calpol 20 mins ago.

small that sounds great Smile

funch hope the night goes better than expected...

Sorry everyone. No name checking. Had a bit of a rubbish night last night, ended up in floods of tears waking DP up at 4:30. Trouble with boys opening their mouths far enough, had had barely any sleep and couldn't deal with it. Saw mw today who helped me, but we've a way to go yet. Given both boys ebm bottles tonight to allow me some more sleep.

Currently however I've dd on my lap who has developed a cough that sounds slightly croupy, I hope it isn't and that it's a sore throat that is making her bark a little. I think she's dozed off now so I'm going to try getting my head down.

Up every hour almost to the minute - if I wasn't so tired I'd marvel at his timekeeping. He's so stuffed up he's having such trouble breathing I'm actually a bit surprised he hasn't woken more.
Poor funch, sending you some nice soft tissues and a hot toddy.
small business sounds fab, I hope baby small made it into his cot.
Please may I have some Tiffin larle?
I'm sure I'll be back next hour, scattering sleepy dust for all in the meantime.

Dd slept after I put her down Smile no coughing heard since.

Just doing another bottle feed, I'm too tired and needing sleep to try bf as it takes far too long. Bf might be saved for day times at the moment. Mw coming again today so will chat over things with her.

Virtual hugs look! Hope you are ok & DD too, its horrible when they are poorly.

Second bottle here, he really is a nocturnal feeder! Everyone keeps telling me he needs to drink more milk in day - err I know, but how on earth do I make him??! HV wasn't impressed that I'd started weaning but DS seems to love it Grin & my gut tells me he's ready for baby rice so I'm going with it, its not like our nights are worse since I started it (they've been bad a while!)! In fact doing 1140-now in cot is a marvel we've not had in a while!

Wonder if he will go back in now???! X

Babybrain just slept through till 3 so just had 3 hours sleep. Think I must be in the middle of a cycle as I'm mostly asleep still.

Wishing all you up people happy trsnsfers, and all you down people continued sleep. Attempting transfer, hopefully I won't be back for a while.

Thanks amey. My dd was the same, fed loads at night, I got v fed up with hearing about how she should be sleeping at night, maybe she 'should' but she didn't until 11 months! Lots of babies are the same

Twins. Double the transfer fail potential! One down one to go!

Another bad night here, first fees at 12:30 and up every hour since. she just cannot settle to sleep without sucking, but dummy no use as she wakes when it falls out, so have been giving boob but now that has failed and she is thrashing about with wind and has woken fully, even though she is tired Sad

Have read some of ncss - looks really good and is clear that this needing to suck thing is really common but isn't that clear on how to fix it. Will read again when fully functioning.

sorry for me me me post, am feeling very sorry for myself! About to put white noise app on and see if that calms her.

sleepy dust to all!

Evening all, first feed here. Looks like just a little one.
Cakes on their way! Dh used to be a pastry chef, he loves baking but not bothered about eating the stuff he bakes, not good for me!
look sorry to hear you're having problems, have you tried the breast feeding support network? Lots of mus on the end of the phone. I'll look for the number and post it tomorrow for you.
Good luck with transfers (sprinkles sleepy dust over everyone)
