Yey Pink that would be great! Whereabouts in Aberdeenshire? We are in Bridge of Don. Been living here 4 years this month. Are you from Aberdeen?

Susie where are you again?

We got another hour earlier and up at half 7. Have the Drs and weigh clinic this morning, was going to walk but it's snowing!

StitchAteMySleep · 13/02/2013 10:11

My prediction came true, it was the calm before the storm. Stitch fed at 12.30 am was sound asleep, went for transfer, as I was leaving the bedroom dh spoke to me.

She then woke up and didn't get her back to sleep until 3.20am after leaving her in her cot with her lightshow, pick up, put down sitting by the cot wrapped in a blanket holding her hand and finally feeding again.

She woke at 5am for another feed and was just settling to sleep next to me in bed when dd1 woke from another nightmare. DH was high as a kite on strong painkillers, but I had to leave stitch with him to get dd1.

Luckily both then went back to sleep until 8.30am. Stitch's head was very hot and she now has a cold so I am thinking her next missing fang might appear soon. At least my mum is coming up today so dd1 can chatter incessantly to her, I haven't the brain for it today.

larlemucker · 13/02/2013 11:11

Not a great night here either stitch. Baby larle slept 9 till 2 so not bad but then had multiple transfer fails till 5am. At one point he was wide awake and gurgling at me. Feed at 6am and then back to sleep 6.30 till 9. Got sleep in the end but broken.
A get together sounds good, anyone near the Lake District?
Lots of snow here today but we're not leaving the house, in fact I don't think I'll even get dressed today!!

Thinking of starting ww, any ladies breast feeding and doing ww? How do you get on?

Thanks for the understanding re: MIL, glad I wasn't over reacting. She is having baby larle on Tuesday when I go to Pilates so will have to speak to her before then.

Hope you all have a good day and don't get too much snow

MrsNPattz · 13/02/2013 11:27

I'm doing WW and EBF Larle, I have lost 8.5lb so far Smile definitely need the extra points as I have found the hunger tough! But it's great seeing the results.

funchum8am · 13/02/2013 13:14

Larle I have signed up for ww and am mostly bfing, but am not really following the programme. Maybe I will start when I go back to work properly after half term, so may check in with you and mrsn to compare notes!

I am so sorry to hear of all the bad nights. Our improvements have continued for now, with two proper wakings for feeds at 1:00 and 4:30, and up at 7. Lots of random brief wake ups between 4:30 and 7 and a bit of wailing but she went back to sleep each time either before I went in at 5 mins, or when DH put Ewan on at the five minute reassurance check. I know how awful those long waking and settling spells are and am sending huge hugs to you all. I will try to find where babyfunch is keeping her newfound stash of sleepy dust and share it about a bit.

Need to get DM to take babyfunch when she arrives in a bit so I can get DH a valentine's card...I messed up big time at Christmas by giving him a load of weaning stuff as a present (long story) so I am trying to make up some lost brownie points! What is the equivalent of flowers for men?!

Love the idea of a Scottish meet up, hope it works out pink and mrsn! My PILs live on the isle of Barra in the outer Hebrides and my SIL and her hubby live on Sanday in the Orkneys....they are a family who love their Scottish islands!

Stitch sorry to hear of nappy disaster yesterday! I forgot to say a car ran into the back of me yesterday on the way home. No damage or injuries fortunately so no further action needed but it was a shock at the time!

larlemucker · 13/02/2013 13:34

Funch does he play the ps3 or something like that?

MrsNPattz · 13/02/2013 15:27

Oh no did he not like the weaning things Funch?

I have done some cleaning, little mine napping on me so just watching TV. Had him weighed this morning - he's 14lb 7oz now Grin

MrsNPattz · 13/02/2013 15:27

Man not mine lol

funchum8am · 13/02/2013 16:06

We don't have a console though are considering getting one but I don't have time to get to town to buy one today....might get him a bottle of his favourite wine (red zinfandel) and some chocs as he has a real sweet tooth.

The weaning stuff as gifts was amusing when he opened the first of the 8 parcels under the tree but I think he though the rest were all lovely gifts carefully selected for him (despite his continual insistence that he didn't want or need anything! which is why I got him stuff for baby work). Several of my family took me aside later and warned me not to take him for granted...I think they like him more than they like me Grin

StitchAteMySleep · 13/02/2013 16:17

Oh no funch, that must have been a shock!

Right just cleaned out guinea pigs. Got to cook stew now. Where does the time go?

TheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 13/02/2013 17:50

Oh my gosh funch that must have been scary, glad you are both ok. Is there much damage to your car?

stitch and larle hope you both managed a bit or rest today after your terrible nights, although I know how unlikely that actually is with uncooperative little ones!

goat how did the jab go today? I dragged myself to buggyfit on my own and it wasn't as bad as I'd feared, still not the most enjoyable hour of my week though!

Just got back from coffee in town with my work friend which was really nice. I've decided I'm going to have to go back earlier than planned so bit the bullet and spoke to my boss to confirm 1st May as date of return :( only two months away :( When does everyone else go back?

Susieloo · 13/02/2013 18:03

Hello all-last feed before bed and we managed a two hour nap today which was my h needed but not sure what we will be in store for tonight.

heff I go back full time on the 15th April and I'm dreading it, I love the people I work with and I love my job but its quite dark and not sure how I will cope with it post babyloo.

mrsn I'm in Herefordshire which is technically the midlands but welsh borders really.

Dp on duty tomorrow night so I can have a glass bottle of wine and I can't wait.

Hope your okay after your bump funch, its scary.

See you for the night shift all and releasing the sleepy mice as I go.

Ameybee · 13/02/2013 19:00

We've had loads of snow today! I had a friend round for coffee this morning then picked up another friend and headed to meadowhall shopping but was like a blizzard when we came out! We live on border of Peak District in sheffield and are high up so always worse at ours - car slid down drive! I was terrified - not a good snow driver!

I go back to work beginning of July and am dreading it Confused x

Smallgreenone · 13/02/2013 19:39

Hi all, couldn't post last night, it was too awful! Baby small is definitely teething, poor guy is miserable with it and is making poor sleep even worse.
We had snow here too amey we are Buxton so in the Peak District and high, seriously arctic at the moment! I only just made it back from my parents before the roads got too bad. Hoping it melts soon.
I'm so excited.......booked flights for a week in Italy in may with DH and Dm and my oldest brother. Can't wait for some sun Smile. Even the bags under my eyes will look better with a tan Grin
Sorry not to name check but I'm not caught up with the thread. Will try harder later!

BrainGoneAwol · 13/02/2013 20:06

Luckily no snow here, but very cold and I'm wishing it was spring. I really don't like winter! Dp got me really thick knitted and belted cardigan because I kept going on about getting up at night and being cold so I'm all wrapped up in that.

Planning to take a whole year mat leave if I can and don't go crazy. I miss work but they are doing lots of restructure stuff that I don't like so trying to stay away until I have no choice but to deal with it and can put it back to how it was Wink

Last night wasn't too bad. 2 wakings before up at 7.30. Had an appointment to visit a nursery but turns out we had the date completely wrong! Oh dear. Could have stayed in bed after all. Sad

Really struggling to be awake for the nights at the mo. Dp is now settling babybrain if he wakes too soon after first feed and takes him if he wakes between 6.30 and 8. This is much better for me! So far though babybrain seems to be returning to 2-3 wakes between 8-8 which is a real improvement. Long may it continue.

Dp is out at a work thing this evening. I'm wondering if I can go to bed now Grin

Oh, valentines. We're a bit soppy so we'll do something. Probably lunch out and cards.

Hoping you all get good nights

MrsNPattz · 13/02/2013 20:42

Evening, hopefully final feed here! We had snow all day but not much has stuck.

I go back to work in September - already dreading it! I'm going to look for something else once I'm back, but I have to go back or repay my Maternity pay!!

Pinkponiesrock · 13/02/2013 21:16

Eventually got home after a very long and rather too exciting journey. Usually takes 3 hours, 8 hours with 2 stops later we eventually got home. Totally shattered now so feeding baby pink them going out to see all my ponies who have been looked after by DH whilst I was away then bed hopefully!

I'm very lucky that I was able to give up working after DS2. I do help DH on the farm and I breed, buy and sell ponies which is supposed to pay for keeping the ponies but doesn't even come close.

MrsN that doesn't sound right for your maternity pay, I know I didn't go back after DS2 and I never had to pay anything back

I'm terrible and I haven't got DH anything for valentines, I really should as he is one in a million :) :) pass the bucket, far too soppy

Hopefully every has a good night tonight, lots of sleepy vibes going out.

MissingMyMarbles · 13/02/2013 22:25

Doing second feed since bedtime and have been up every hour so far[hmm[ Praying its bit setting the tone for the night. We've just given a dose of calpol as cheeks a bit red but that could be tiredness. We've had quite a busy day. It's half term so we've been swimming. Afternoon nap was 29 mins and should have been much longer so could also be over tiredness.

I'm back to work on Monday officially, but am taking a years worth if annual leave before the new financial year so am not physically back til 1st April. I'm dreading it, but u am going to new job which is quite exciting.

It depends on your company policy for paying stuff back, Pink. You don't have to repay SMP just any perks according to your organisation's contracts etc.

Grin at all the penis nudging! I would like to have the energy and the confidence that we aren't going to be interrupted. Poor DH.

Hope you're ok, Funch. It is a shock and a pain in the arse even if no further action required.

Was going to do long post but can't remember who said what do apologies for that.

See you all later, no doubt.

funchum8am · 13/02/2013 22:27

small, stitch, larle and everyone else hope you have much better nights tonight and forever!

We have been out for an early Valentine's meal as DM is here and it was lovely.

No damage to car (well DH reckons he can see a mark on the bumper but I can't see it!). Was just a shock.

heff I went to see my friend who has a 3 week old this morning so she could have a nap...managed to juggle two babies for 2.5 hours and she got a good sleep so I have paid forward your kindness of last week. Now need to pay you back, let me know when you need a babysitter or favour Smile

Off to bed now. For some ridiculous reason I hardly drank any booze at our meal so can bf tonight which is good for babyfunch but means first waking has to be me, not DH or DM!

larlemucker · 13/02/2013 23:09

Evening. Think I'm in for a bad night, baby larle thrown up over his bed, our bed and gro bag.
Think we're having 6 week growth spurt as emptying both breasts then screaming for more, he doesn't like working too hard for his milk!
I'm going back to work for a week in July, summer holidays off then hopefully back 4 days a week in sep but waiting to hear about that.
amey I think you were very brave going out in this! Sounds like you had a good day tho. We've had a PJ and rom con day today, didn't manage to catch up on any sleep though Sad
Sorry you had a bad night small but at least you have something to look forward to, I'm well jel!! Really need a holiday.
Glad no damage to the car funch and sounds like you had a lovely night out.
Ok. Baby larle asleep, my arse cheek is going numb from the way I'm sat and I can't keep my eyes open so going to attempt transfer.

Hope everyone has a good night!!

MissingMyMarbles · 14/02/2013 00:04

Been up again. In for a crappy night. Suggested co sleeping, DH took the sulks and his sleeping bag to the sofa Sad Missmarbles in her own bed at present (I'm in our king size on my own -resultGrin) but not sure for how long. Wouldn't it be funny if she slept through that'd teach him Sorry but I am sick of his need for sleep taking precedence over everything elseAngry and breathe.
He's one in a million really, and pulls his weight mostly, just irritated by his sulking tonight

funchum8am · 14/02/2013 00:37

Sympathy marbles DH sulking about sleep would make me feel exactly the same way. Does your DH have a job that needs him to be 100% fresh eg brain surgeon? That is the only acceptable excuse for that kind of behaviour!

Hope your arse cheek is now enjoying full sensation once again larle Grin. Are you a teacher?

StitchAteMySleep · 14/02/2013 00:48

Hello all, Stitch is ill and teething, finally got her to sleep at 10.30pm after ibuprofen. She woke a minute ago and is sounding slightly croupy, so I hope she will stay asleep after her feed. Heff, funch and goat apologies in advance if she has passed anything on to your DC's.

Hope everyone has a decent night's sleep tonight. I am sure I will be back in the wee hours.

GoatBongosAnonymous · 14/02/2013 00:58

Greetings from me and from the snot monster Hmm
Sorry for non-delicacy, but honestly, I didn't know one small creature could produce quite so much! [hope no one is having dinner while reading Grin
stitch it was lovely to meet the three of you and DH was most entertained when I passed on your DD1's explanation of the two types of crocodile living on the park - the friendly ones and the VERY friendly ones. Sorry you had a bad night afterwards though...
funch a shock about the bump thank goodness you are both ok ( and the car).
heff I am impressed at your dedication, turning up to buggyfit on your own!! The jab went fine, the nurse was fab I have to say, cue some flirting action from Kid!
pink and mrsn a Scottish meet-up how exciting!
susie snap, I am back at work April 15 too. We have just found a childminder. She is lovely if eyewateringly expensive. I do want to go back though, and I do bring in more than she will cost. And I think it will do Kid good to be socialised. He gets a bit overwhelmed by other people/babies quite easily, although mean mummy keeps taking him to busy classes, and today he lasted 40 minutes in baby sensory which is a record, hurrah!
Went to the paediatrician on Monday, Kid is now officially a great lump at 17 lbs and nearly 27 in in length. He is growing before my eyes! We haven't been discharged yet though, because of allergies and because of some "asymmetry of movement" caused by the bleed on the brain he had at birth Confused ie he always rolls to the left and heavily favours his left hand. Ah, they always think of something to worry you! He seems fine really!
Hadn't thought about Valentines day, bad wife I can't even remember if we did anything last year! Very close to anniversary anyway soppy and bucket inducing emoticon
Sorry not to name check completely, am on non-scrolly phone. marbles hope you are enjoying lots of space in your bed!

StitchAteMySleep · 14/02/2013 04:32

Second feed done, the ibuprofen seems to be helping, Stitch fast asleep until.now. Transfer time.
