Can't believe we are on part 7! and I'm still here

Welcome one and all Smile

OP posts:
MissingMyMarbles · 12/02/2013 10:32

Grin at Kid's rival! I think Missmarbles thinks the same!

Grin sore legs not dire kegs! Stoopid autocorrect!

Pinkponiesrock · 12/02/2013 10:42

larle I would be so cross! It's totally different you deciding to implement a routine/technique/schedule/Anything else than someone else suggesting it as it is YOUR baby! Anyone you trust to look after your baby should respect your decisions as a parent regardless of their views on it.

MrsN congrats on the weight loss, I must do something! The thought of losing my 3rd lot of baby weight is not appealing! keeping my greedy little paw out of the biscuits would help I got split abdominal muscles this time so it will be a lot more work than weigh loss from the DSs.

Our night was better, think the calpol helped. Up at 4.30 but back asleep before 6 then up at 8.30. Heading out for more lunching, shopping and catching up today :)

Hope everyone has a lovely day swimming/sleeping/snuggling with LOs

Susieloo · 12/02/2013 11:24

Well done mrsn-woop woop!!! Brilliant news

Put babyloo in his cot this morning with his muslin and sounds and lights on to try and get him to have a nap, left him to grizzle for five minutes feeling guilty then he started really screaming so ran up stairs and he had got his leg stuck through the bars of his cot and couldn't get it out Sad

He's had an hours sleep now which means by the time mil gets here at half two he will be on the downward slide into tiredness, really don't want to leave him but I've cancelled my last two dentist appts and think they will strike me off if I don't go. I've got to start leaving him with her because she will be having him two days a week when I go back to work feel sick at the thought of going back to work because I don't want to leave him

funchum8am · 12/02/2013 16:40

nice work mrsn! 5% is brilliant! I realised the other day I am still using my 10% keyring...they really should confiscate them if you put it all back on and more, for about the fifth time

susie Sad at poor boy's trapped leg, hope he is ok. and it is totally natural not to want to leave your LO - I am here feeling guilty because I DON'T feel that bad about going back to work! we cannot win. I am telling myself I don't mind because I am leaving babyfunch with DH who is wonderful with her and not because I am a career-obsessed birch with no maternal instincts though!

Just back from lovely meet up including consumption of chips with goat, Heff and stitch. Fabulous to meet another thread buddy stitch, and your DDs are wonderful Smile. we reckon we need to mark everyone on the thread's location on a map and work out a place to have a residential get together piss up!

Ameybee · 12/02/2013 18:55

Well done mrsn! Grin You are definitely motivating me! I've been good last 2 days & have a quorn bolognaise in slow cooker just tasted it & its grim but low points!

Ah wish I lived closer to you guys for meet ups! But sheffield is a bit too far for me to come down!

Been swimming with DB and Niece! Was lovely, am hoping we get lots of sleep tonight now!!

DH off out again so I'm home alone!

Susie hope baby loos leg is ok! DD did that a few times! Xx

ChilliBanana · 12/02/2013 19:08

Aah funch you mustn't feel guilty about looking forward to work! I look forward to some of it - I'm pretty good at my job and I (mostly) know what I'm doing, which is the polar opposite to how I feel about raising baby chilli most days Grin

Well done mrsn, I find dieting impossible so am in awe of those who are successful.

susie

ChilliBanana · 12/02/2013 19:18

Aha, sorry, fat fingers on a phone, posted too soon!
susie poor you and babyloo, I hope your dentist appointment went ok.

amey quorn spag bol eh? I hope the taste improves for you.

pink it sounds like you were in for a nice day Smile

marbles I quite liked the sound of dire kegs, I thought it was some quaint English saying I was unaware of!

We have bought a humidifier to stick in baby chillies room as his cold refuses to die and has progressed to a nasty cough which I'm sure contributes to his waking (clutches at straws). Hopefully we will get a halfway decent night!

funchum8am · 12/02/2013 19:46

chilli thanks for your reassurance! Sorry to hear baby chilli has a cough, it is so awful hearing them hacking away isn't it?

amey think about it this way, the taste is gone in minutes but the health effects are there forevermore! no idea why I get to give diet advice, am about 2 stone overweight

DM coming tomorrow again, bless her, so I can start lesson planning and go into work on Friday for last KIT day...means we get to.go out tomorrow night to lovely steak place nearby once babyfunch is in bed. We will.toast the end of my mat leave and the start of DH's Wink Can't wait!

What are people doing for Valentine's Day? We always say it is a commercial swizz to be ignored but then get cards (and DH knows I expect flowers really!)

TheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 12/02/2013 19:52

Wow well done mrsn on brilliant weight loss Grin I've managed 5lbs so far but not expecting much this week due to excessive cake and wine consumption.

Lol at the penis nudge susie Grin poor DH hasn't tried that in a while, probably given up all hope! Mrsn We've managed to DTD about 4 times since babylump was born, so averaging once a month! Its getting better, having the complications from the coil haven't helped though. How was swimming today?

larle is be really Angry at that kind if comment too, luckily my DM & MIL are both mostly either on the same wavelength or at least respectful of my views so its not come up much, although mil did try the spoiling line on SIL when her DS was born in the summer and I couldnt help saying rather loudly "oh don't be daft you can't spoil a little baby with cuddles" and I think she realised what she'd said as she's not usually like that. Agree with other posters that if you're going to be leaving baby with her she needs to respect your views regardless of her own. Hopefully by the time it comes round she'll have accepted things.

stitch it was so nice to meet you and your two beautiful DDs today. We definitely should do it again, it only took us 20ish minutes to get there and I bet its lovely in the summer.

goat thanks for letting me bore you silly offload about my DSis in the car the whole way there! I promise to come up with a more cheerful topic of conversation next week!

Babylump is exhausted, we popped to my grandads on the way home tonight as he's not new well but its delayed bedtime by an hour so she's protesting quite loudly. Hopefully that means she'll drop off quickly but we'll see!

Wishing for good nights all round, see you in the wee small hours xx

MrsNPattz · 12/02/2013 19:59

Thanks guys!

I'm envious of the meet ups too Amey, maybe when I'm in Chester one time we could meet in the middle?? Glad you all had a lovely time though Smile

Water Babies was great again thanks Heff, so lovely seeing him in the water. Hope you feel a bit better after some company.

Funch I am getting my wisdom tooth out on V day SadConfused we do cards and I have got him little silly things, but we don't tend to do anything major.

MissingMyMarbles · 12/02/2013 21:16

On first feed about half an hour earlier than last night but still hopeful for a good run.

Did everyone enjoy their pancakes today Grin? DH just made them when DD1 went it bed coz she's not that bothered Hmm

We don't do much for Valentine's, mainly because it is DH's birthday, this week as well.

Releasing the Sleepy Mice as I attempt transfer...

jemima86 · 12/02/2013 22:47

MrsN thanks for bringing up the subject of sex. I've read answers to questions I was too embarrassed to ask!

SusieLoo I also had a c section (supposedly elective) and have been too scared to try yet as am still a little tender and dreading its going to hurt my insides, it's only been 3weeks so still early days. But not sure how much more penis nudging I can take lol.

Pinkponiesrock · 12/02/2013 23:06

Hopefully on our way to the land of nod here but Baby Pinks snuffling would rival Peppa Pig any day so not holding out much hope. Heading back home tomo after a fab few days of catching up with school friends, got one last play date tomo morn before driving home. Hopefully the weather isn't as bad as it's forecast to be, we live in the north of Scotland, as I took the car instead of the 4x4 through, might regret this tho!

Sounds like you all had a lovely day meeting up stitch, goat and heff :)

Amey, Mrs N the meet ups do sound fun. Don't think there is anyone this 'oop north tho. Any Scottish nocturnal babies here?

chilli hope LO's cold improves, I'm feeling very sorry for baby pink just now too:( they are just too little to be poorly.

Wishing a sleepy night for you all, away to attempt transfer plonk on to empty side of huge bed as too scared to put in cot without DH to help me settle DD

StitchAteMySleep · 12/02/2013 23:18

Was lovely to meet you too, funch, goat, Heff and your beautiful babies :)

When we left you I went to change stitch's nappy and just as I was about to slip the clean nappy under her she weed everywhere. Cue full change of clothes in the freezing toilets and I will have to wash the cosytoes too (the baby changer was so cold I was changing her lying down in the buggy). Dd1 was so tired she fell asleep standing up on the buggy board being wheeled back from our local tube station!

Yay MrsN on losing your first half stone :) Not so good about the tooth, but being as it is valentines day it gives your DH no excuse not to completely pamper you. Hope you get lots of lovely sleep after water babies.

:( Susie at babyloo's trapped leg, poor lad.

Grin though at the penis nudge. We are quite active when DH is not laid up with sciatica, twice a week average, hence my recent POAS quandary Blush

Amey, I have never made anything in a slow cooker that tasted better than soggy cardboard, must be going wrong somewhere.

Chilli, I hope baby chilli's cough improves.

Marbles! I knew I forgot something today! Was going to give the girls pancakes for breakfast, but had so much to do I forgot. Ah well there is always tomorrow (any excuse me, we love pancakes, all my nieces come to stay just for pancakes, as I always make them if they are staying).

Not really Valentine's people here, we try to do special things throughout the year and I can't stand the whole competition of everyone trying to look like the most loved up couple in the restaurant when you go out on Valentine's day, plus it is so much more expensive.

Just had a lovely relaxing bath and washed my hair, bliss. Dd1 just had another nightmare and stitch has fed twice, bedtime feed and another at 9.30pm. I am hoping that means it will be quiet for a while now, but it could be the calm before the storm.

Larle, Pink, Brain hope you get some zzz.

Sweet dreams to all.

StitchAteMySleep · 12/02/2013 23:28

Oh Jemima, just seen your post. I waited 5 weeks after my first EMCS, it was too soon really, scar was fine, but inside not quite. I did attempt VB though, got to 10cm pushing, baby stuck, attempted ventouse, forceps etc.. So was quite damaged internally not just from cs. With elective that shouldn't be a problem. I would wait until you get the all clear at the six week check and if you want to start slowly and see how you feel. 3 weeks post c-section too soon though you will feel lots better by 6 weeks.

Pink hope babypink doesn't have too bad a night, do you have saline solution for her nose? It is brilliant when they are tiny, failing that a few drops of breastmilk works too.

Pinkponiesrock · 12/02/2013 23:36

Back again, transfer fail! I think there is saline at home but not at DM house. Do you just put BM up their nose?!!

I gave Babypink calpol again tonight incase that's what helped yesterday but we will see. Also has any one ever had calpol stop them pooping? Babypink is usually v regular saves it for when DH is giving bedtime FF, clever girl. The FF is a pre mixed bottle so it's not the different water as I don't think the few drops left on bottle after sterilising would be enough to make a difference.

StitchAteMySleep · 13/02/2013 00:17

Yes you put the milk up their nose, it is good for eyes too.

ChilliBanana · 13/02/2013 02:08

Poor baby chilli - fed him at 11, settled him in his cot and hopped back into bed. He began fussing so spent 5 mins shh/patting to get him back to sleep but when that didn't work begrudgingly brought him into bed for another feed thinking it had only been 5 mins. Actually it was 1.45am!Shock I must have fallen asleep the second my head hit the pillow.

Stitch I've used breast milk on baby chili's eyes but didn't occur to me to stick it up his nose, I'll have to have a go at that.

Pink calpol doesn't seem to have that affect on baby chilli, but all babies are different I guess. So clever of babypink timing her poos just right!

jemima sections here also and I'd also recommend waiting until after your 6 week check. Not much action around here as I feel like we're barely in the sameroom for long enough!

Susieloo · 13/02/2013 02:46

1st feed of the night so longest stretch for a while-why then can I not keep my eyes open? Need matchsticks.

Hello everyone-love the fact there is an actual thread meet up-wish I was nearer.

Hope everyone having good nights.

Susieloo · 13/02/2013 02:50

Forgot to say re valentines day that we get cards and dp normally gets me flowers and cooks me my favourite spaghetti bolognaise using his secret recipe the only thing he can cook and he adds marmiteGrin and I don't really do anything for him which has become our norm so selfish but a bit if a result for me!!

Susieloo · 13/02/2013 04:23

Is there anything worse than falling asleep and being woken 20 minutes later? We are still up but attempting transfer .......

TheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 13/02/2013 04:50

Been up since about 3 here, its freezing so that's not helping but she does have plenty of layers on so I'm not sure the cold can be entirely to blame. Wish I had more layers on though, sat up feeding again feeling like a great big icicle.

We're not doing anything much on valentines day, dd1 will probably help me make DH a glitter explosion card and I thought we might attempt some cookies as I've got a heart shaped cookie cutter somewhere but we won't go out. I agree with stitch about the off putting competitive lovey doveyness of it all if you're in a restaurant, and we're tight short on cash anyway. DM said she'd babysit at the weekend though so we'll pop to our local for a couple of hours child free which will be lovely.

mrsn what are the chances of you and pink being anywhere near each other? My geography is appalling Confused We should do as funch suggested one day, plot us all on a map and chose a mid way point for a residential meet up also like suggestion of piss up

stich oh no poor DDs and you! They always time their moments don't they! Dd2 did that to me in December when we were visiting a national trust place in the middle of nowhere, thick frost everywhere, explosive poo requiring full change followed by weeing all over the buggy and throwing up all in my coat Confused Glad you got a nice relaxing bath at the end of it all, next time you're welcome to come change her in my car instead!

I've been writing this so long I've forgotten what else I was going to say. Babylump still not properly asleep and the night is now running out please sleepy mice, if you're out there, come and visit us!

Ameybee · 13/02/2013 05:11

Well, think we would of had our longest stretch yet but DD needed a wee at 3am n woke DS up! He settled quick tho without bottle so has gone from 1130 till now without feed Grin! Hoping I can sneak another couple of hour in now by sticking him in bed with me x

MrsNPattz · 13/02/2013 05:27

First feed - have had another 7 hours Shock had a nightmare though so was glad to wake up!

Pink - I am from Chester but live in Aberdeen, where are you?

Jemima glad it helped, I was a bit embarrassed but knew these girls would help!

Pinkponiesrock · 13/02/2013 07:13

Oooooooo MrsN I live in Aberdeen too! Actually we live in Aberdeenshire as there are no obviously farms in actual Aberdeen. We should have our own meet up. How long have you been up here?

Not the best night lots of trashing about, multiple lying down feeds. I have up checking the time. Best get up and going as meeting my friend and her LOs at 9.30, between us we have 6 kids that are 6 and under, will be a fun morning!
Will catch up with you all later, hope there was lots of sleeping going on and that you all have good days today.
