Oh this is disappointing - Sophie is feeding the twins to reduce her risk of breast cancer; Dolores is feeding the 4 year old so she can feed the adopted 18 month old; and Veronica is just too alternative for me even to be able to talk rationally about it and is by no means an interesting or useful precedent for anyone who lives in the mainstream........ and my husband is just saying bitty bitty bitty bitty bitty bitty bitty .....

Turquoise · 01/02/2006 21:20

The mother of twins seems to be using her breasts as dummies imo.

mrspitt · 01/02/2006 21:21

I think the older girls age 8 & 9 come across as quite childish? Or is it just me?

wantedmyboobsback · 01/02/2006 21:21

they are all weird so far!!

FrannyandZooey · 01/02/2006 21:22

Nah, I just thought "who needs it?" I honestly don't care if she wants to breastfeed her 10 year old - feel no need to gawp at 8 year olds breastfeeding - you lot will tell me if there's anything really new or inspiring on it. I personally have never had anyone make critical comments to me about my breastfeeding and I can do without hearing them made in general. I intend to go on feeding for as long as ds and I both feel comfortable and I think I can do that more effectively and happily if I haven't absorbed a lot of negative stuff about it.

I have been so lucky and am so happy about breastfeeding. If this programme might make me feel uncomfortable about it then they can stick it up their jacksies

RTKangaMummy · 01/02/2006 21:22

The 2 girls don't go to school they are home schooled so therefore no friends at school who wuill be watrching this

IMHO she is deffo BARKING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JendleWendleBells · 01/02/2006 21:22

Did Arsenal just score a goal?

mrspitt · 01/02/2006 21:23

Obviously they are children so childish but not what i would of expected at their age.

BonyM · 01/02/2006 21:23

Agree - the twins' mother seems a bit obsessed - I don't think I even fed my newborns as much as she feeds her 2yr olds.

Find the 8 year old feeding a bit odd tbh but the 4 year old seems very natural and before seeing this I felt that was a bit too old.

harpsichordcarrier · 01/02/2006 21:23

well Kirsty is LOVELY

Hulababy · 01/02/2006 21:23

mumfor1standfinaltime - they are home educated. I assume that they do have friends from elsewhere though.

Earlybird · 01/02/2006 21:24

Would love to hear from mumsnetters who live in other countries - do you think it's correct when the narrator says that in most other countries children are breastfed until 4? Is that the norm where you live??

harpsichordcarrier · 01/02/2006 21:24

I like that

RTKangaMummy · 01/02/2006 21:25

I don't have a problem with home schooling btw one of my best friends home schools her 3 teenage boys and has done all the time -- they have never been to school

wantedmyboobsback · 01/02/2006 21:25

one of the twins had breast feed then went to drink out of cup straight after doesnt that tell her she no longer needs to breast feed?

mumfor1standfinaltime · 01/02/2006 21:26

Agree that Kirsty is lovely. Also agree that the twins are using breast as dummy.

Didnt hear the older girls were home educated..good job!

harpsichordcarrier · 01/02/2006 21:27

RTKangaMummy · 01/02/2006 21:27

wantedmyboobsback · 01/02/2006 21:27

harpsichordcarrier · 01/02/2006 21:27

there you go about "need" again
do you only give your children what they "need"
and how can you tell??

RTKangaMummy · 01/02/2006 21:28

HC

wantedmyboobsback · 01/02/2006 21:28

her mum is crazy too!!

Hulababy · 01/02/2006 21:28

Sounds like twin's mum is weaning them from the breast then? I missed why.

BonyM · 01/02/2006 21:29

The grandmother nursed the elder girl! Sorry - that really is weird.
