This is why I don't support England and was dreading them winning as I don't think the fans deserve it. They don't deserve those boys.

The boys are English when they score goals but monkeys and the N word when they don't.

Rashford runs a campaign to feed starving kids and gets nothing but racial and other types of abuse week in week out. Sterling regularly vilified in the press for buying his mum a house and his wife shopping at Primark 🙄. Both rise above it and are nothing but professional in their measured comments. And they have to be or it would just get worse.

The right wing press if this country feeds the jingoism, racism and xenophobia and this place is just a cesspool now.

The lip service paid to the situation: the statements 'condeming' the racism and the pathetic kneeing (which the English fans have charmingly taken to booing). A nation that has to tell it's fans not to racially abuse its team because they lost a football game is not one to be proud of.

Someone on another thread said most of the abuse is coming from abroad because lots of black and brown people don't like BLM. Makes sense. Racially abuse your own race to protest against BLM. Because someone missed the goal in a ball game. Genius. Obviously just a goady fucker.

Listen, England showed it's true colours on Sunday, and no amount of 'investigations' are going to convince me otherwise.

It's absolutely disgusting, glad people are getting called out on it.
Been reporting some of the vile stuff on Instagram and Facebook and they're absolutely useless - just get a message saying "this probably doesn't go against our standards, you can just block the user if you like?!"
How the fuck does it not violate I don't even want to repeat here but they were most definitely racist.
Tell you what is making me a bit Hmm though - those like Priti Patel condemning the abuse.
You what?! You were saying people were entitled to boo taking the knee a minute ago!!
Also if Prince William can come out and condemn the abuse too - where was he with all the racist shit towards Meghan and Harry?!

Hi OP I was sickened by what happened on Sunday as I am by any racism at any time . I just want to say that my children are football fans as well as all of their friends. Not one of them are racist and they are so shocked and disgusted .Unfortunately there are people/ creatures out there that you really cannot reason with…they are too stupid and probably havnt done anything worthwhile with their lives…they really are vile .
As for Boris and co …I really have no words.

So many posters on here are being ultra defensive. I’ve come across this before. Nobody is saying that all non-black people are racists, just that racism is a problem in this country. You may not face this problem however this doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist. Talking about racist Indian SM accounts doesn’t excuse the racism in this country. It really isn’t hard to understand and what you are doing is known as minimising. HTH.
Either ignore their whataboutery or call it out for what it is per their individual post.

The former is easier to do with ignorant people.

I didn't. I posted about the investigation into social media racial abuse of premiership footballers. On a board about black people, in a topic about black premiership football players.

Where posters are expressing their anger and upset with all the racism, and all you have done is try to tell people how do they know that any English heritage people are responsible. You are being silly now.

@Lndnmummy nothing has changed with the moderating on MN. Despite several posters questioning it- you and I included.

The lack of proactive moderation by @mnhq on ANY issue is so shockingly bad- they clearly use the same playbook as Instagram as I’ve had the same trite phrases back from both of them whether I’ve reported racism, blatantly misleading health info, bullying and self harm. All massive issues- all mostly ignored because it suits them.

I struggle with the idea that it's imported racism. I grew up in South London during the 70s and 80s. It was ALL white, English racists. They advertised with very short hair and beating up my black and Asian friends. Do people really believe they all went POOF and disappeared?

It's gaslighting that it's from abroad. What bollocks.

I wouldn't be surprised if this narrative has come from the government or the media. Just watching Sky news right now and it is very interesting the language they use. I just heard a journalist use 'woke' in the perjorative, without explaining what it really means.

Saw a lovely photo of a woman on Twitter this morning when I woke up posting hearts on the wall.
Just her, being the first one putting a few hearts on the wall - then it escalated with hundreds of others coming out and doing the same with hearts and messages.
Now the demonstration too Flowers
Just shows for all those with hate there's loads more of us out there ready to help and stand up and say "er no, not in my name."
