great to see more newbies.

Just wanted to say sorry for being so down in my post earlier - ignore everything I said! I've just been feeling really rough and it's been getting me down, especially not being able to talk to many people about it as trying not to tell anyone.

debka you're not in the west kent area??? I'm choosing pembury hospital if you know it.

oh- and if anyone rememebers my work issue last week where they rung to know exactly what was wrong despite doc note? well, the manager I spoke to has already blabbed my news to at least one other collegue despite me wanting no one else to know - just why I didn't want to tell her! sigh. I thought this was private personal medical stuff they wern't suppose to tell other staff about.

No, east kent, I'll have this one in William Harvey where I had DD. Would love to go to birthing centre but I bet they won't let me because of my 'Raised BMI' (NHS-speak for lardy-arse), DESPITE the fact that my last pg and birth was textbook (apart from the induction part...).

angels your work sounds awful, take as much maternity leave as you can then leave the miserable buggers. re your previous post, I find that being tired makes absolutely everything seem worse- any way you can get some more rest? I've been on the go all day today and feel sick as a dog and tired as a ... well, 8wk pg person!

I'm feeling really nauseaus today, and everytime I sit down I very nearly fall asleep, is this normal?

About telling people, I told my inmediate family because my grandma needed something to cheer her up, and a close friend who knew we were trying, and decided that if DH wanted to tell his side of the family that'd be ok, since I had told mine, and just heard him tell his sister on the phone and felt even more nauseaous...

how anoying the wait for the scan! but can't help thinking of all teh nice things I could get for the price of a private one... do I want more yarn or to see it? I think it is going to be yarn.

Just updating my age (36) and location N.Ireland, ps constant nausea to point of being unable to sleep!!! Was actually sick with previous 2 pregnancies, this is much worse, even my failsafe ice-cream snickers aren't helping!!

Hi all. Went for scan today. 7 weeks plus 1 and heartbeat visible so fingers crossed everything will be ok. They did notice I have developed a tilted womb though which is worrying me. Has anyone else got or had one and still had viable pregnancies? Please help reassure me if you can

Oh and to update i'm from hartlepool

Next time someone updates the stats I'm in Devon and my due date has changed to the 16th according to my scan (no longer a Valentines baby!)

I'm home from work now and feeling slightly better but still pretty rough. Taken 2 paracetomol and might call GP in the morning to see if they have an appointment to look in my ears. Have DS tomo and he hates waiting around at the doctors and will no doubt kick off so might be more trouble than it's worth!!!!

Hi all, am new to all this but looks a lovely group
I'm 28 and this is baby number 3, I'm in Nottingham and est. due date is 13/02/11...

Have not told anybody I know yet as had a mc earlier this year, so erring on side of caution - so nice to 'out' myself as pregnant on here!!!

linz i think i have been told that before(how rude)dont think it makes any difference apart from they seem to have to dig a bit deeper to check dilation during labour.
I have a really horrible bloated feeling tonight.I feel about 8 mos. Just off to bed with some peppermint tea how very rock and roll is that. Oh well girls another day has passed us by and isnt it dragging already?
Knitta thanks for that i feel all humble now! I like to share as i remember hearing positive stories really spurred me on. BTW people also love to tell you horror stories. eg, when you tell them they reply "oh right. My mum dies of that!" CHEERS THEN haha

kat2504 I'm completely paranoid too! I haven't done lots of tests because from what I've heard it takes a while after a mc before the hormones drop enough for a negative (sorry if telling you that makes you more paranoid!).

So I'm thinking of having an early scan done. I'm just under 6 weeks atm, I'm holding out until its more likely a heart beat can be heard.

i cracked my mat jeans out from my preg with DD and they still fit nicely
i wore them and nearly accidentally outed myself to MIL earlier but OMG the comfort i have been feeling more and more uncomfortable by the day and when i put them on i actually looked noticably preg!! i will need to tell people soon before they guess
i had a call from the hospital earlier which i missed and they left a message asking me to call tomorrow morning with regards to my appointment i am hoping they will have something for me ASAP so i can get it out of the way and see my baby at long last

very pleased with myself for landing new job this evening - much better hours, handier to home and made all the more impressive by my realising while waiting for the interview that my period was late, it never is and I was probably up the duff (new favourite phrase). Might celebrate with copious amounts of alcohol, sneaky cig, some brie, some coffee, a bit of pate and maybe some nuts!! oops

I am looking a bit on the round side tonight but I'm not sure if it's down to all the spaghetti I ate at dinner I certainly won't be fitting into my normal jeans again anyway!

Hi all,

I caved in and told work on Friday. I had to in the end as the things they wanted me to do this week could have put the baby at risk. I am so glad! They have been really nice about everything and are totaly understanding, told me not to worry and that it was only a job. Such a relief not to have to worry about it anymore, it was getting me so stressed.

Not really feeling pregnant at the moment, but I also have IBS so the odd tummy upset. Can't wait for my scan to know it is real and not just a dream.

We've been rather quiet today ladies!

So the ms has finally kicked in for me and I had a particularly unpleasant experience in a (nice) public loo on Saturday!!! At first, I was like 'Yeay! I'm properly pregnant!' Now, I'm just trying to work out how to deal with it!

I thought that was enough excitement to deal with for one weekend, but I now also have a very definite bump! It just seemed to happen overnight! I am beginning to think I may have my dates all wrong, but I'll find out on Wednesday when I go for my scan. My dad was telling me something about some research that's been done that suggests that if a woman really wants to be pregnant and is happy to share it with the world, then she is more likely to show earlier and have a bigger bump - so far, that seems to be true!

DH and I agreed on a 10pm bedtime this evening, as we keep going to bed far too late, even thought I am desperately tired, so I'd best be off (although his parents are now on the phone - they always call so late!)

I don't think I can keep up with this thread either! My location is Oregon, USA btw but I had my first two in York Hospital which I liked.

God this computer is ridiculous slow so I hope I can remember what I needed to say and who too as there's no chance of scrolling again!!

Angels - that's out of order your boss telling another colleague. Depends what type of character you are but you could def get them in trouble for that, they can NOT discuss medical certificates with anyone!

Linz - I have apparantly got a tilted pelvis which I was told about a few months ago when I went to see a fertility consultant. I have had a ds and I would love to say without hiccups but I am pretty sure the hiccups I had would have had nothing to do with my tilted womb. The consultant asked if sex was sometimes a little painful if deep and it is to be honest so he said that is the only issue with a tilted uterus.

Wiggles - congrats on the new job.

All those talking about gaining weight well I can def join you there, I feel enormous, nothing fits and it def has nothing to do with the GUI (sp) pudding I had last night

Morning to all bloated and otherwise,

My DD (10 months) was up most of the night last night and yesterday I hit a tiredness wall and was praying for a good nites sleep! Ah well, pretty good wake up call as to what its going to be like having a new born and an 18month old, YAWN YAWN YAWN! I'm also so over emotional, its just pathetic, cried on and off most of the day yesterday, didn't really have a reason other than DH was not being particularly sensitive, as is his way but then he came home and cooked my dinner and tickled my back, no all bad lol. I've updated the stats with my location.

Good morning ladies,

How are you all doing today? Lovely to read all of your experiences thus far.

I've been feeling sick for over a week now, but this morning was the first time I thought I actually was going to follow through a few times. First when my other half sat next to me with his breakfast of peanut butter on toast, then when I walked down the flats stairs and smet burn toast, and again when on my way to work in the hot sun! I managed to breath my way through it, I hope I can continue, as I really hate being sick!
