PinkiePoo · 12/07/2010 07:30

Morning....i am new here.

I am 9 weeks pregnant but REALLY worried. All my symptoms have gone. I never suffered from MS but had very sore boobs and extreme tiredness, but all have gone. All i get now is mild cramping.

Anyone been here?? just convinced its a bad sign :-(

angels1 · 12/07/2010 07:38

Morning all,

Not wishing to be a drama queen, but I had bleeding yesterday won't rant too much as feel I've done more than my fair share of worrying here with you all in the last few days. I'm sure I've read somewhere that bleeding can happen when your period would have been due (am now 8 weeks) - anyone else heard of that? Luckily I have a routine appointment with my doc this morning so will see what she says/suggests. Btw - this could be tmi (sorry) but the bleeding was bright red and very blood like (not a good sign I know), not mucasy or anything like a period, and I also had at the same time completely seperate lots of 'normal' white discharge, so maybe this is a good sign (I'll talk myself into anything!!). Talk about having a bad time being pregnant so far!

Hope you're all having a better morning.

pinkiepoo I know symptoms can get heaps better for a few days and then come back again as I've had that and paniked myself, but if you're worried speak to your doctor today and they might think about booking you for a scan to make sure. I hope that helps.

PinkiePoo · 12/07/2010 08:49

Morning Angel,

Hopefully your bleeding subsides to nothing and i am sure your doctor will reassure you, or at least give you a checkover. Fingers Crossed!

I hope your right about my symptoms.....i want them back!! I miss my sore boobs! I am little miss negative at the best of times, but i really have a horrible feeling

tabbycat76 · 12/07/2010 09:04

This is a bad day - feeling rotten again and I am playing host to a dear friend who is the only one outside of family who knows our secret!! Problem is i don't feel up to it. And plus like you tadjennyp my tummy seems more round. Infact, you'll never guess what, but I'm 8 weeks today and last night I swear i saw the beginnings of stretch marks on the left side of my abdomen!!! At 8 weeks??!?!?!?! I've definitely changed shape and i know I'm twins but still! Out with the Bio-Oil straight away and I have commited myself now to using it twice daily for the duration!!!! Amazingly they're not there now but last night really freaked me out about it. I've got quite dry skin on the sides of my belly and got some stretch marks elsewhere during puberty so I'm sure I'm going to get them Has anyone else had this fear yet or like me actually seen any yet?!??!?!?

Yay for the TWINS column in the stats list knitternottwitter!

tabbycat76 · 12/07/2010 09:09

By the way angles - keeping all crossed for you that this bleeding episode resolves and comes to nothing. Are you still losing anything now?? Do you have any pain with it? It's so worrying isn't it whne you see something you don't expect to see at all, but hopefully your GP will help. Press for a scan for reassurance or self admit to A+E. Let us know how you get on.

KnitterNotTwitter · 12/07/2010 09:18

angels yes someone else posted on here about getting a bleed the same time as when they would have been expecting their period - you really have had the roughest time of it - bring on the bloom!!

pinkiepoo welcome and don't worry - symptoms come and go - we've all had 'not pregnante feeing' days and then it comes back with avengance and you'll wish you enjoyed those days more!! I've added you to the stats as being due on the 14th of Feb as that's when other people who are 9 weeks pregnant are due - but let me know if you have a different/better date! Oooh and if you fancy letting us know how many other children you have, yoru age and where you live I'll add that too.

or even 'not pregnant feeling'

AGGG - Mondays!!!

xkatyx · 12/07/2010 09:50

Hi everyone,

Im 8+5 weeks .. has anyone noticed there nausea come and go?

I was feel very sick for about 2 weeks, never got sick but since about thursday it has vanished?!

Still tired, very sore boobs

Please tell me this happens.

xxx

tabbycat76 · 12/07/2010 09:59

katy - I'm finding that my nausea is easing a little. I was really nauseated almost constantly from 5 weeks to maybe late last week and then I've noticed it's subsided. I still get bad waves and have to lay down but not as often. I've been told that the baby does it's most development between 5-8 weeks so I think that would explain it. Hope that helps.

xkatyx · 12/07/2010 10:02

Thank you, i have been so upset, i did have a early scan at 6+5 weeks just for reassurance and all was good, so i was relaxed untill this now im a nervous wreck again.

angels1 · 12/07/2010 10:10

tabby I have stretch marks too!! I've started on the bio oil.

Just to report my GP has got me an NHS scan at EPU....but not until thursday! Just rung DH and he said to get private one - which I've managed for 11:30 today - that's how the NHS should be!! Plus, DH is self employed and the cost of him dashing over for the appointment to the hospital I've booked which is near his work won't lose him too much money, whereas the NHS one he would have to take 1/2 day off for as it's miles away to get to for him and in the middle of the morning, so the cost of the private scan is sort of outweighed by less loss of income, if that makes sense. At least I'll know by lunch what's going on. So nervous - no more bleeding touch wood, but am getting crampy pains increasing, which can't be good...

Hope the others having scans today that it goes well ( I remember there are a couple)

tabbycat76 · 12/07/2010 10:12

Feel reassured katy by your scan results. MS does ease and so does the tender boob syndrome! Mine have certainly got more comfortable but sorry to be so graffic but my nipples are sooooo sensitive they hurt!!!! The fact that ms can be sooo horrible, I'd be thankful if mine eased completely. I'm desperate to get back to work and have a life again... the dr at the hospital said she'd known a lady with twins to have the full first 12 weeks off with ms.... hope that won't be me - getting cabin fever! So katy, enjoy the fact your symptoms are easing, it doesn't mean your pregnancy isn't progressing. Relax and enjoy!

tabbycat76 · 12/07/2010 10:16

Aw angels - keeping everything crossed for you and I pray you'll be back on here later on with some positive news. Try, as hard as it may be, to remain positive - thinking of you loads! Take care.

leelteloo · 12/07/2010 10:34

Angels I'm glad you booked a scan and crossing everything for you.
I have been quietly worried since all the talk of MS being a sign of healthy preg as I have had absolutly none. So have just had a serious word with my self about us all being different and relaxed!Funny to worry about not feeling rotten, but there is always something to worry about!
Enjoy the cooler weather.

KnitterNotTwitter · 12/07/2010 11:12

angels just a thought but have they managed to hear your babies' heart beat yet? If yes you might want to investigate buying a doppler machine to use at home to hear it yourself - then you could have a listen any time you wanted... But obviously don't get one if they've not managed to listen to the heartbeat as that would definitely freak you out if you then couldn't find it....

OP posts:
GinaFB · 12/07/2010 11:16

angels you really have been unlucky you poor thing. I really hope that things go well later on, let us know. I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you!

tabby good to hear from you! Was getting worried as you hadn't been on for a while! Really glad that both twins are doing well! I hope that the nausea eases soon!

Katy and Pinki I haven't really had much in the way of nausea, a littel at about 7/8 weeks and now it has gone completely! I'm not too worried as I am still exhausted but I think its only about 80% of women who suffer with nausea\MS anyway! Congratulations BTW!

Lovely to see so many people on here now! It moves so fast it takes me ages to catch up on a Monday!

I had an exhausting weekend I spent most of it asleep! It was heaven!! Am very nervous about the scan in 2 weeks time. Has anyoe started to think about CVS/Amnio if the results from the scan & bloods comes back with a high chance of DS?

KnitterNotTwitter · 12/07/2010 11:25

Gina Yes we'd have every test going if they said our risk profile for anything DS/other disability/disease was high - we've already agreed that we'd terminate too although I obviously hope it wouldn't come to that...

OP posts:
angels1 · 12/07/2010 12:28

happy happy news - all good The baby had grown a whole 1.6 mm in 2 days I feel like a complete over worrier mad woman now , but the blood really did freak me out - it WAS like when I started my mc last time, eek, so thankful everything still OK.

I found out when seeing my doc this morning that she hasn't yet referred me to midwife and she wouldn't until I had my scan results...which I sort of understand, so I'm seeing her again at 9 weeks and then she'll refer me - hope I don't have to wait weeks more to get an appointment.

I think I might have worked out why I bled. I think it was sex that did it!! after weeks of feeling too rough for any action, we managed our first bit of proper nookie yesterday in ages. I read that in pregnancy it can be common to bleed after sex (or the hours after. Don't think it does any damage to the baby this bleeding, just very scary. Anyone else found this, or just me?! DH so worried now he's said we have to abstain for at least the rest of the 1st trimester!!

I am currently eating fresh pea and mint soup. mmmmmm, it's like the only 'different' food I've tried in ages and really enjoying it. only sad thing is I know I could easily make it for 1/4 price but I just can't face it, so brought some.

knitternottwitter we have now seen the heartbeat, and this doppler you talk of I can see would be just the sort of thing that would be very reassuring for me, but would it work this early?

Tarlia · 12/07/2010 12:39

I'm so sorry there have been a few scares recently, I'm thinking of you.

Thank you for the advice re my blanket, knitter. I've decided to go for rectangles anyway as I think it'll be a bit different, plus I get a bit bored of the same colour. Yep, going to use all cotton and buying it from the same shop/brand etc. Will double check its the same thickness, thank you for the tip.

Yep, Gina I've decided that whatever the result I'll be keeping the baby. My partner is not too sure, but personally I couldn't go through with the alternative. I know of a few people to be told they are very high risk and offered a termination which they refused, they have all had perfectly healthy children. I would always think what if.

Its such a hard decision to make, I really hope it doesn't come down to that for any of us.

Honeywitch · 12/07/2010 13:16

tabby Knittakid* angels - great to hear your good news. Anyone recommend bio-oil over palmers and vice versa?

leelteloo - I haven't had much ms really either, but my mum says she didn't either - so I guess it's just luck. Have been very faint though (really low blood pressure) but otherwise no symptoms other than boobs gieeting bigger, so I spend the time worrying too. Had my booking-in on Saturday, and the midwife said she didn't have good enough equipment to find a heartbeat this early (9 weeks?) so that was no reassurance either. Also, she reckons I'm due on the 16th Feruary - but my doctor said 12th, BBc said 13th and mumsnet said 14th? I know my last first day was 9th May and I know the baby was probably conceived on 23rd. So do yu think this is likely to change again at my scan on 2 August? She put me at 8 weeks, I'd say I'm currently in my 10th week...

My DP isn't really getting into this either. He is still smoking in the house.

His 19 year old daughter has just started living with us and they are (occasionally) BOTH doing it! I've said how they feel and they both agree with me and then carry on!

It doesn't happen all the time but if they can't cope with going in the garden when it's fine, how are they going to do this in the winter? I've never smoked and this is making me wild.

Deliaskis · 12/07/2010 13:22

Hi all,

Not been on for a bit as haven't really had anything to report - and still haven't!

Glad to hear you're feeling a little better angels1 and that you have had a reassuring scan.

Hoorah for all the others who have had good scan news. It's starting to get exciting. I have my 'proper' booking in appointment on Friday this week and scan on the 27th.

I've been mostly OK health/symptoms/MS wise, just nausea in the evenings really rather than the mornings so am having to make an effort to have a proper balanced meal at lunchtime in case I can't eat much in the evening.

Annoyingly, all the 'pregnancy' nibbles I bought myself to have at my desk at work last week (ginger biccies, breakfast cereal and fruit), which all seemed very appealing and just the ticket last week, now don't appeal at all and I am desparate for cheese sandwiches and foods with gravy!

Gina we have decided to go ahead with the amnio if the bloods and nuchal come back with high risk. It does of course open up a whole can of worms about what to do then, but we decided that whatever we decided to do, being better informed was the way to go for us.

I'm finding it harder to keep this secret as the weeks go by though! It's consuming my thoughts so much it's really hard having conversations with friends where I can't refer to it at all.

I am finding I'm struggling to stay focused at work...not good as I've a long way to go yet!

Best wishes and +ve vibes to everyone for a happy and healthy end to the first trimester! It's hard to believe in a couple of weeks we'll be a third of the way there!

Dx

Tarlia · 12/07/2010 13:26

Honeywitch If it helps, my doctor confirmed the date that I got from mumsnet. Do you have very long cycles or something?

KnitterNotTwitter · 12/07/2010 13:55

angels - there's quite a few dopplers on ebay - but if you do get one read the instructions carefully and remember that if you can't find a heartbeat one day it doesn't mean that it's gone... it just means that you can't find it - baby has turned round or something equally inocuous (sp) - but it might be cheaper than lots of scans :-)

I was so tempted to get one when pregnant with DS - it's lovely when you can hear the heartbeat - so reassuring. But soon you'll be feeling kicks and will have that to reassure you too...

OP posts:
KnitterNotTwitter · 12/07/2010 13:58

Delia - I'm a gravy fiend too at the moment!!

OP posts:
KnitterNotTwitter · 12/07/2010 14:01

Honey at smoking in the house - very poor behaviour. Maybe start a thread on this to get other people's suggestions for how to get them to take it outside. So bad for eveyrone - especially the baby
