zerominuszero hello and welcome - a fellow kent lady

knittakid · 10/07/2010 10:30

Hello all,
really bad, after light spotting yesterday morning after swimming, had a tiny bit again in the evenning. Now this morning there has been a bit more, really worriyng sick, although nausea is gone away. It's not looking good, is it? Don't know what to do.

angels1 · 10/07/2010 10:34

knitakid, I really hope all is OK. I spoke to my doc yesterday as I was worried about things myself, she told me to ring the out of hours doc over the weekend if I started bleeding for advice - do you have something similar to that with your GP? They might be able to book you a scan to check everythings OK. If you'[re really worried, you could go to a and e to get a scan done (that's what I had to do last time).

fingers crossed

I am so tired today and i cant stop eating all the time.last night when i got up to make a bottle for my little one when i was doing it everywhere blacked out and i nearly fainted, it felt horrible then i had this ringing noise in my ears. I really cant wait for my scan to see baby is doing well and all is healthy. Not long until i reach second trimester now which is exciting and hopfully i will enjoy pregnancy with more energy.
congratulations on the twins, so exciting.x

tabbycat76 · 10/07/2010 11:33

knitakid - fingers crossed for you taht all is ok. I'd probably do the same as angels - either ring your on call doctor to refer you into the early preg unit or turn up at a+e. They can't turn you away so you'd get your scan I'm sure. There's nothing like spotting or bleeding in pregnancy to make you worry, like it's not worrying enough eh?! Really hope you report something positive back.

Readin your posts re friends etc really reassures me. I too have few friends, I've drifted away from school friends and my uni friends which I remain in touch with are all over the country, then of course you have people move away and have families themselves, it all changes. I could count the amount of friends I have on 2 hands if I'm honest and they're all over the country but they're the kind of friends you could turn up on their doorstep at any time for help and they'd be there, so I've concluded it's not how many you have it's the quality of them. This thread is really good for social networking as I'm sure people will meet up. By the way, where are some fellow Suffolk folk!?!? ;) I'd love to meet up with folk from here when we're all feeling a bit better about things.

Grannyapple · 10/07/2010 11:53

Morning everyone! Just back from private scan - all looking healthy & normal & even heard the heartbeat!.

For some reason I still feel that it isn't too real yet...wierd I know. I guess it also may be due to the fact I have virtually no symptoms (apoligies to all those of you who are suffering!).

Guess we may start to tell a few others now that we have actual proof!

Hope everyone manages to have a nice relaxing w/e & enjoy some sunshine!

knittakid · 10/07/2010 12:09

Hi, I've spoken to the out of hours gp service, they said to take a pg test, and if it came out neg then assume that's it, and if not to rest and wait, and if things get worse then to call them back.
Can't bring myself to do the test, but when i do i'll let you know.

angels1 · 10/07/2010 12:24

thinking of you knittakid

Grannyapple · 10/07/2010 13:19

knittakid-everything crossed for some good news for u x. U too angels x.

Tarlia · 10/07/2010 15:22

Thinking of you knittakid. Good luck with the scan angel let us know how it goes. Welcome new recruits :D

how are you all coping with the heat? I'm positivly cooking, there is no air and our flat temperature has reached 30 - my bf has gone to buy a fan. My body thermosat seems to have broken since I became preg-has anyone else found this?

Question for the knitters So I'm going to make a patchwork blanket using cotton as I'm pretty sensitive to itching. Am I right in thinking if I cast on say 50 stitches, then 50 rows will make a square? I want to make big squares as the sewing together is going to bore me and I don't want to fall at the last hurdle!

angels1 · 10/07/2010 18:20

afternoon all,

Just wanted to report I had my scan and thankfully good news - they found a heart beat and everything looked fine. My dating seemed pretty dot on with the size. It was incredible to see - they had a big screen tv hooked up in front of me so I could see it all so big and clearly

And the fact that I'm pregnant is also reminded to me by the fact that I now feel totally rubbish - but I'm hoping it's worse as I was so stressed with the scan.

Any news yet knittakid ?

leelteloo · 10/07/2010 18:32

Yippy Angles, been worried all day!! I'm so happy now. Still got all crossed for knittakid. x

tadjennyp · 10/07/2010 18:40

Thinking of you knittakid.

Thanks Angels and Tabby. Feeling a lot better this morning as it's the weekend, it's sunny and dh is at home. He's not the most sociable of people either but I think he realises that he gets enough when he goes for coffee with his mates at work and there are days when that doesn't even happen for me! It is great to have an online community to talk to - makes life so much easier and more fun!

knittakid · 10/07/2010 18:41

great news angels1! very happy for you.

I finally did the test and it was a BFP, as oppossed to the very thin faint line I got 3 weeks ago. The nausea is back tentatively, and slept all afternoon dreaming of great rivers of blood... but have not bled anymore since this morning. Will do very little and see how it goes.

Tarlia 50 rows to 50 sts don't necessarily make a square, on the yarn it will tell you its gauge in terms of, for example, 28 sts x 32 rows = 4 inches, and that is a better guide to how you make a square, but you might want to make a sample and see from it what you personally get, because people knit in different gauges.

Thank you all ladies for your good wishes.

tadjennyp · 10/07/2010 18:41

Great news about your scan too Angels - hearing the heartbeat is so special!

tadjennyp · 10/07/2010 18:48

More good news knittakid - so pleased for you!

angels1 · 10/07/2010 19:30

knittakid what a relief. So it's good news all round

I'm so hot right now - this weather is just too much.

sweetnitanitro · 10/07/2010 20:15

Glad to hear 2 bits of good news! It has been toooo hot today, poor DD has been very grouchy. I've been OK considering I've been outside almost all day (albeit in the lovely shade!), have hardly felt sick at all. Still very hungry though.

leelteloo · 10/07/2010 20:49

DD and I survived the heat with an hour long cool bath together, she loved it, thought she was at the pool! Hopefully that will have knackered her out and she will sleep tonight; DH did night duty last nite and she did not wake once, typical, think it is favouritism!
I'm so please knittakid

kat2504 · 10/07/2010 21:16

very glad to hear the good news angels and knittakid

It's so hot today here! Don't like to complain cos its nice and sunny but the heat seems much worse with nausea added in. Have drunk about a gallon of water today so will be up every half hour for the loo!

earlgreyismynectar · 10/07/2010 21:35

So pleased for you knittakid and angels what a huge relief for you, now to relax and enjoy the pregnancy (if that's possible with MS!).

I've gone from almost symptom free right back to nausea again which only eating and (I've discovered) Coca Cola can ease, cannot usually abide the stuff but to hang with it not being the healthiest option, I need to get through this whatever it takes and a little each day is helping! Overwhelming tiredness too, not to mention trapped nerve - like twinges of pain! Maybe I'm just becoming a hypochondriac wreck. Come on the bloom stage!

linz hope you get reassurance from the consultant & hope you're feeling ok.

tabby lovely to have the definate confirmation of twins! There has to be more on here!!

I agree that this thread is really great for reassuring on many levels and just linking up, you girls have become firm virtual friends!

Take care all

brockleyD · 10/07/2010 22:27

Really pleased to hear the good news! What a relief!

I am about eight weeks now and today woke up with sore back and feel like I have had very mild cramps in my womb and not gagged today, which is unusual. Last time I was pregnant, at eight weeks, when my period should have been due I also got these pains and apparently that is common? Really hoping that is all it is and I feel better because it's the weekend like I did last Saturday. I had my scan yesterday and all fine so think I am being paranoid!

Anyone else period like symptoms when their period would have been due?

cordiality · 11/07/2010 10:00

Hi all,

I haven't posted here for ages, I was ellieinshock but I think I've got over the shock so I've changed my name!

Had a scan on Friday at FMC, all was good, we're 8+1 today and the little shrimp is 15mm with a tiny heartbeat and everything! Bless!

Could someone update my stats please? EDD is now 19th Feb and I'm in north west London.

Lots of love and best wishes to everyone on here cxx

kat2504 · 11/07/2010 10:17

Hi cordiality nice to hear your scan went well. I'm having an early one on Tues, I'll be about 8 weeks then. What was it like? Did they do it on your tummmy or do they have to do it internally? I'll feel so much better when i hear a heartbeat.
Perhaps it might also shock my boyfriend into some sort of action! He is talking about things he wants to do this time next year, seemingly oblivious to the fact that we will have a newborn baby, who might not really be up for a weekend watching motor racing!!!! Or the bit about me not being at work and only on SMP therefore no money. grrrr will have to have some words tonight.
Anyone else on here live around Milton Keynes?

cordiality · 11/07/2010 10:45

Hi Kat, good luck with your scan, it's so exciting and nervewracking at the same time. I thought that they were going to do it internally, especially as I'm carrying a lot little extra fat padding around my tummy, but actually he didn't even suggest that, just popped me straight up on the couch and did it on my tummy. It was all really quick and un dramatic. I know that we are very lucky.

My DH kept on saying 'wow, it's amazing, isn't it amazing' and I was like 'awww, at last it's hit home that we're having a baby' but then it turned out that he was referring to the ultrasound machine! I think we're going to have a very geeky little child .

I guess it just takes the guys longer to get their heads round it, but I assume they'll get there in the end!
