ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 06/07/2010 14:35

I'm so sorry, Panda. It's not fair at all. Take care of yourself.

applecharlotte · 06/07/2010 14:41

So sorry Panda. Take care xx

GinaFB · 06/07/2010 14:44

PandaEis I am so sorry to hear your news, be gentle with yourself and I hope you have good news later in the year. Much love. xxx

TallulahBelly14 I run the family business so they already know!! But I am planning to tell the staff here at 12 weeks! I would tell your boss at 12 weeks so they can plan, you can tell everyone else later on at say 20 weeks if you are not showing too much beforehand!!

angels1 · 06/07/2010 15:04

Panda, really sorry to hear that. I hope you're OK and have been getting lots of hugs. xx

americanexpat · 06/07/2010 15:10

Panda, I'm so sorry.

My H is very keen to be involved so I think he'll be attending most of my appointments with me. I didn't expect him to attend the booking appt but he asked if he could.

I'm intending to tell work sometime after my first scan. I think it's going to be a bit of a shock to them. BTW, am I the only one petrified of running into someone from work on MN?

KnitterNotTwitter · 06/07/2010 15:15

Panda I'm so sorry to hear your news. Fingers crossed for a happier time in the future...

RE telling work. I told work at 16 weeks last time after i'd burst into tears when someone had a conversation with someone else over the top of me while i was on the phone...!

This time i've told my line manager, boss and administrator informally i.e. not in writing. This is because they all were lovely to me when I had my ectopic pregnancy and I knew they would be very happy to hear my news this time round...

OP posts:
smallblackflowers · 06/07/2010 15:54

panda so sorry [big hugs]

wigglesrock · 06/07/2010 16:07

Panda such desperate news, thinking of you

Chloe55 · 06/07/2010 16:48

Oh Panda, I am so sorry, please stay strong and rest.

HAd my friend over today (the one who had/has breast cancer). She was telling me all the chemo has to entail, she is such a strong woman - I was desperately trying not to cry when she mentioned the possibility of early menopause and potential infertility . She still seemed strong and positive like she did the other day but I think now the side effects of the chemo are starting to sink in for her whereas before she was just grateful to be given another chance at life iykwim.

I have told some other friends today, mainly because my tummy will give me away when I see them on Sat. Honestly, it's ridiculous how much I have swelled/bloated. Mum has asked me if I have got my dates right as she said I look extremely big for only 7 weeks. I certainly didn't look this big this early with ds. I did have a period last month so I presume my dates are right but now I'm starting to wonder whether I am further along or perhaps my medium was right and it is twins I am tempted to somehow send you all a pic of my tummy so you can give me an opinion how it looks in comparison to your own!

tadjennyp · 06/07/2010 17:56

So sorry, panda, take care of yourself.
Chloe my stomach seems enormous for 9 weeks too! I'm surprised people haven't noticed but then I was wearing fleeces etc when we were camping at the weekend! How would you feel about twins? I would be terrified, personally, but that's because I already have 2! Only the scan will tell!

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 06/07/2010 18:52

My stomach seemed enormous before I was pregnant, so I'm sure it's even more impressive now...

Chloe55 · 06/07/2010 18:52

Tadjenny....terrified

moocowmrs · 06/07/2010 19:05

Gosh alot has happened in the two weeks I have been on holiday,

Sorry but I think I will be leaving you shortly, I started bleeding yesterday while still on holiday, at legoland ! I am having a scan at my local hospital tomorrow as I travelled home north today. I did go you hospital in slough, they where quite laid back and did very little but got me an appointment tomorrow at my local hospital, I am not sure if this is normal or what to expect tomorrow, I didn't have these type of problems witht the previous two so it has come as a big suprise and I am in a bit of a daze at the moment.
I am still bleeding a bit so not hopeful for the results of the scan.

x

tadjennyp · 06/07/2010 19:37

Good luck moocowmrs - hope it all works out well for you tomorrow.

BrownPaperandString · 06/07/2010 19:47

Hi Knitter!

My LMP was the 7th May and that's what puts me at 8+4 today. My cycle is 31 days long which gives me the due date of 15th Feb but an early scan I had at 6 weeks gives me a due date of 11th Feb based on a 28 day cycle.

I'm 39 and this is DC3 except that my sickness has dropped off and I'm panicking

leelteloo · 06/07/2010 19:49

Panda my thoughts are with you. Such a sad day .
moocowmrs, fingers and toes crossed for good news. Xx

brockleyD · 06/07/2010 20:55

Panda, I am so sorry. Make sure to take some time off work and rest up, I had a mc in March and your body will need a lot of rest and good food.

Moocowmrs, thinking of you. It could just be pregnancy bleeding, wishing you the best.

Sweet dreams everyone.

PDR · 06/07/2010 21:14

Panda so sorry to hear your news. Agree with brockleyD that you should take some time to yourself. I had a MC in December and just carried on normally, even went straight back to the office after my scan to confirm it and that was not healthly.

Moocowmrs wishing you luck for tomorrow - I had spotting with DS1 and everything was fine. Fingers crossed for you.

gigglet · 06/07/2010 21:30

DH and I have decided to move back to Australia, where we are from, in September. Eek! Two months to plan a relocation! I can hopefully keep my job, just work remotely, but it does mean I need to tell my boss as soon as possible.

I should be able to keep my job and work remotely, but I'm still pretty scared of telling my boss, esp so soon. I have an early scan tomorrow, if that goes ok I'm going to pluck up the courage and tell him.

ledkr · 06/07/2010 21:57

Don't know if you will see this Panda but I am totally gutted for you. I have loved talking to you as we were due on same day. I know how worried you have been too. so so sorry. will be thinking of you x moo cow I had massive bleed w/th dd I was convinced she was gone....kept kids off school to tell them went for scan and all was well! she 8 now. don't lose heart

ledkr · 06/07/2010 22:02

Chloe tell your mate I had b c when 27 had chemotherapy etc. Have had 3 kids since. keep positive

scubamummy · 06/07/2010 22:48

Hi girls

So sorry to hear about the ladies that are leaving, rest well and good luck for the future...x

I have a bit of a dilemma - I am jobhunting at the moment (currently unemployed) and going to be 10 weeks gone tomorrow....have a first interview in 2 weeks time. Do you think I should say anything about being pg at the interview?

Apparently legally I only have to tell an employer at 16 weeks but morally I think they'd need to know as I'd only be working for them for 5 or 6 months at the most.

Do you think I'd be entitled to any maternity leave?

Any advice would be welcome, thanks!
