morning ladies

im in work all day today and i really cant be bothered!! i am meant to be going for a meal with my friend later but i may have to cancel! i am feeling so tired and not up to eating much recently also, i dont know whether anyone else has this but...i have a sharp pain near the top of my back in between my shoulder blades and every time i swallow it feels like whatever i am swallowing is scratching its way down my throat its been rather painful to say the least

anywho...i am starting to get nervous thinking about the scan on tuesday has anyone else (whether MCs or not) kept getting a thought that when the scan comes around, the sonographer will not be able to find the baby and they will be laughed out of the room i am terrified this is going to happen i have waited so long for this to finally happen and go to plan and i doubt my mind will do well with that outcome!! has anyone else been thinking like this or is it just crazy old me??

PandaEis · 04/07/2010 09:57

ledkr spooky x-post there

ledkr · 04/07/2010 10:51

panda sorry cant understand your last message explain to the old one please!!

ledkr · 04/07/2010 10:57

oh you mean same concerns. Think i get it. I actually imagined being laughed at too."haha did she really think she'd be pregnant at 43?hahahaha"pity your at work today. I went onto 9-5 a while back and love it. Not looking forward to work this week tho have such a busy day. Only good thing is they know there so i can let it all hang out. Feel very homely too everyone.Put up big pool in garden so i dont even have to leave the house. Loving just hangin out and flitting between garden and tv i have been watching old re runs of the hills how sad is that.I will have a dating scan week after next so in my mind that will be the day of reckoning for me.help!!

cler · 04/07/2010 11:23

I managed to drag myself to gym yesturday for h alf an hour which was probably a waste of time with the amount of junk ive eaten. Im dreading my scan on 27th july. I had one 2 weeks ago and everything looked fine but i always seem to think the worse.x

sweetnitanitro · 04/07/2010 12:46

Morning all. We had a barbeque yesterday and I'm so exhausted! I'm glad my parents and step-parents were there, they know so they were helping out. I also came clean to one of my best friends only for her to tell me that she just found out she is pregnant too! She thinks she is due in early March. I am so so so pleased, our DCs are already good friends and now we will have 2 very close together if all goes to plan.

Tabby- sorry you are feeling so rough I hope you manage to find something that calms it down.

Ledkr- how awful of your friend to spill the beans, I am for you!

PandaEis · 04/07/2010 13:02

exactly ledkr we both said the same thing at the same time it is more like i had already convinced myself i was never going to have another baby and DH and i decided to stop TTC after 2.5 years and my last MC at 6+4 in january. we only had a bit once last month due to some relationship issues and then i got a BFP after all this time and all the problems we have had i cant let myself believe it would be so easy to just happen for us like that!! i am trying to expect the worst for the scan so i will be ok if things arent great but its hard not to get my hopes up just a little...

ledkr · 04/07/2010 13:31

i feel better for knowing that other people expect the worse at the scan-it must be normal. Just had mw here to book me in and she is hillarious. We were having a right old chin wag and forgot the time but then we heard a car and my ex husband (who doesnt know)had turned up to bring back dd. We were running about panicking and laughing and i said oh we will just tell him you are here about my back. she then pointed out that she had a massive mw sticker on her car. As she snuck out the front he came through the back and i noticed my bounty pack on the sofa which i swiftly hid.Thankfully hes very dim so didnt twig.

PandaEis · 04/07/2010 13:42

we have to go to the clinic for our MW appointments! i want a home visit MW i will have to speak to the GP surgery as i havent been referred for the community MW team as far as i know! i have the consultant led care for my scans etc as i have a clotting disorder so they are supposed to have been scanning me every 2 weeks until 37 weeks but im not sure what the plan will be...i will find out either way on tuesday though

knitter was it you who said about movements??(cant remember sorry)
i could swear i have felt some flutters mainly when im sat still and i havent got much wind to speak of the past few days so im confused

angels1 · 04/07/2010 15:27

tabby I too can admit to enjoying a bit of cross stitch. Infact, I did a victorian style sampler a few years ago which I have had framed, and have already decided this would be a nice thing to put in the babies room (that is, when we move, which could be just before/after having the baby - argh!). I'm currently doing an embriodery, but am too tired to pick it up in the past few weeks.

grannyapple cheesechomper yes, I'm nr oprington, so close to both of you, but I'm not at Kings. I got to choose between Farnborough Hospital and Pembury (tun wells). I chose pembury as the midwife/scan bits are in sevenoaks hospital which works very easily for me to get to with where I work.

pandaeis I had a scan nd there was nothing there. It was when I had a mc. They didn't laugh me out the room or anything, quite the opposite. Said whatever was there had gone down out of the womb so not visable on the scan, so don't worry about that.

I continue to feel down and dodgy - vaugeuly normal every now and again but mostly ravenous but unable to eat much and sicky, not to mention now not being able to get by without a nap in the afternoon!

PandaEis · 04/07/2010 16:11

thanks angels that makes me feel a little better i was wondering...had you already MCd at that point? or was it the scan that told you things were wrong? up to now i have had all my MCs naturally so i wouldnt know what the protocol would be for a MC confirmed by scan with no pain or bleeding... i dont think i could go through a MC as bad as my first again (i was 14 weeks) my recent MCs were between 5 and 7 weeks and relatively mild in comparison i was hospitalised for 2 days and anaemic for about 3 months afterwards i almost hoped to MC before now if i was going to as i cant bear the thought of it happening later again i am swinging between being terrified and being hopeful...MC ruins early pregnancy it really does

sorry for the doom and gloom!!

Honeywitch · 04/07/2010 16:43

Hi

Ledkr I think Cheesechomper accidentally copied the wrong stats - Dee is still on there (she wanted to come off because of MC) and I'd corrected mine to say boy.

Can someone else do them as I'm a bit scared of getting them wrong!

I think mine was the last correct one, but it will need Cheesechompers new stats on too.

Thanks whoever's brave enough!

brockleyD · 04/07/2010 16:45

Try not to worry too much Panda, I know it's hard, I have only had one mc and so desperate to know resultof scan but also trying to give myself something little to look forward to everyday as a distraction. This weekend I went away to Norfolk with in laws and felt so much better! Haven't been able to eat so much in weeks! Distraction is key.

Also about craft. I am a keen crochet lady but have made a concsious decision to wait till 12 week scan as last time I started and then had a mc at 10.5 weeks and still have the half made blanket. Also I found this cheesy American nursery site, think it's called Nursery projects and it had the most baeutiful bird mobile, under diy bird mobile I think, gives instructions how to make.

I am having my 8 week scan on Friday at FMC. Is it true if that goes well there is only 2% chance of mc?

ledkr · 04/07/2010 17:12

brockley i havent heard of that would be nice to know tho.Panda I had that experience too was 12 weeks and had little bit of pain n spotting scan was due anyway so went and they very sensitively told me it had only got to 9 weeks(what i am today wobble wobble)I then had to go in for a d and c. I was extrememly upset but did think that it probably had something wrong to just die off. Had dd 3 years later with no probs at all-oh apart from a massive bleed at 12 weeks but all was well-i think its very common to worry about the early scans but that makes me feel better cos i know im not having a preminition(yes i really did think that)when i was pg with dd my concern moved from miscarriage to prem birth to birth defects and then afterwards cot death! And now with this suprise baby i am convinced its got ds. Natural but yes extrememly annoyibng that you cant relax and just enjoy it.

panda I didn't know I was having a mc....well, I guessed but wasn't sure. I started spotting just after 6 weeks last time for 2 days, went to the doc who said they'd scan me just to check all OK, but as it was christmas/new year I'd have had to wait over a week. Couldn't wait that long so booked a private scan for the following day. It was then I found out I had mc'ed. I think I had a feeling as the symptoms had been getting better for several days..but there was still the hope before I had the scan. I was told to go straight to a and e and by the time I got there I'd started bleeding a bit more (more like a period) and had another scan and blood tests. I spent 5 hrs in a and e on new years eve not a good start to this year. But it all sorted itself out naturally - no need for any intervention, which was something I guess. It has ruined my excitement this time around though...still, I've got further now than last time

ledkr · 04/07/2010 20:02

woo i got a 9 on the stats feels like ive passed a test. Still hungry tired fat nauseous moody and constipated/windy so i presume its all still ok. Off to watch cdwm now to celebrate.

gigglet · 04/07/2010 21:01

Ugh, that wasn't good...

I went for a run and 8 minutes in I threw up

I walked home in disgrace. This is my first incident of actually throwing up, its always been gagging or just feeling nauseous previously.

ledkr · 04/07/2010 22:26

Gigglet I would throw up if I ran and haven't had any ms. I am really missing exercise but far too tired to do anything. May try some swimming this week my legs and bum look really flabby! I am in bed now shattered.

brockleyD · 04/07/2010 22:38

I feel your pain gigglet, I so nearly threw up earlier, had to take deep breathes and hold it in, haven't been sick in about six years and dh away, really don't want to do it! Hope it doesn't happen again to you!

Good night all.

hubbard86 · 05/07/2010 00:21

hi all, i'm 24 pregnant with num2 est due date 26th feb. Feels like a lifetime away. Had very bad sickness from 4th week (didn't even know then) nothing seems to help other than pints and pints of water and ice lollys. Didn't have anything like this with ds1. The tiredness has kicked in like a twister turning everything upside down. My 19month old doesn't understand why mommy either has her head down the loo or is struggling to keep her eyes open while playing cars. Bless him. Dh works a lot so never see him as i'm in bed 10mins after littleun unless the exhausted insomniac whose addicted to google takes over. Hopefully it'll get better soon good luck to everyone

ledkr · 05/07/2010 07:33

Felt really sick when woke up. Not really had ms so far. I had tea n biccy and its gone for now! got my new trouser extenders now so I feel like I got my wardrobe back. 3 more wks till I can tell my dd I just can't wait and It will be a nice start to the summer hols. Work today have a nice day all

ledkr · 05/07/2010 07:36

welcome hubbard you will love it on here. Great bunch of women

Chloe55 · 05/07/2010 08:10

Welcome Hubbarb

Good luck to all those with scans this week. I have been toying with the idea of pushing for an early scan but am thinking (if I can control my impatience) that I am best waiting for my 12wk scan when there will be more to see. But, as someone said, it would be devastating to see that something went wrong weeks before and I had carried on regardless. Hey ho, what will be will be I guess, I keep telling myself that.

My weekend away went ok. Went to the cinema Fri to watch the Russell Brand thing which was hilarious! Went to a comedy club sat night which again was very funny however the girls I was out with were absolutely hammered and had a serious case of heckle tourettes so I made a swift exit back to the hotel on my own before the last act as they were beginning to piss me off, prob that I wasn't drunk though I guess!

I do cleaning on a monday morning for my nanna and I can't actually think of anything worse to do today, booooo!

angels1 · 05/07/2010 09:11

Morning all,

warning long rant coming up!

I now feel completely miserable - I've not really been out of the house in over 3 weeks (other than the shop round the corner when I've run out of 'essentials' like loo roll!). Everyone else on this thread seems to be able to continue with work/social life (allbeit perhaps less so) and I just feel like I'm stuck at home keeping myself occupied with TV/reading and feeling terrible ALL the time. The sickness meds from the doc arn't the wonder cure I expected and I keep having to increase my dose (within the allowed amounts) as they just don't do it. I've hardly spoken to anyone in the past few weeks as I don't want people to know I'm pg yet, so can't ring for a chat as I know I coulnd't keep the secret. I just feel so useless and that I'll never feel back to my old self again. I have to eat all the time or I get worse, but there's nothing I can stomach, I feel like I'm getting so fat after spending 2 years in the gym working hard to try and lose weight, I feel really tired/sick with no let up, I can't do tasks even like unloading the dishwasher as it makes me dizzy/feel perculiar and I have to sit down. All this and I'm only 7 weeks, so I imagine there's only worse to come in the next few weeks (???). DH is doing the best he can in the circumstances, but my mum (who lives locally) isn't being as sympathetic as I expected amd can't understand why I feel so rough I just can't do things. Maybe I am being a wimp, but all I can do is cry and sleep and hope I don't feel too much worse in the next few weeks.

sigh

Sorry for the rant, I don't want to appear selfish, it's just hard to vent anywhere. Feels a bit better now though - am I the only one feeling like this? I mean, I know it'll be worth it in the end (grrr, if I get told that one more time!) but I just feel so down and rotten all the time
