yeah isnt it strange i never got big before about 4 mos before! My tummy hurts when i wear my now tight trousers.I will buy some jeans too when all is well i found h and m ones lovely last time.I drink loads of water and have been treating myself to nice cordial like elderflower and yesterday i got morrello cherry on e from waitrose but overnight i literally pee about ten times or more, it drives me insane luckily i have a small en suite or id be stumbling about on the landing all night. I hope that stops after 3 mos.I was just watching tv and the tiredness came over me,its like i'm drugged. Had to get up and move. My dh is working nights tonight so am having a girly with dd nachos chocolate and big brother.I had just lost some weight too and was determined not to put on too much but am well and truly off the wagon was stil gyming but so tired going to go back after 12 wks and my tests are done. Can always do weight watchers after.

ledkr · 02/07/2010 18:28

Prof-its not trapped-thats the problem haha i know how painfull that can be tho but t least you can go out in public! Also i am usually a very careful eater and at the moment eat a bit too much crap to control extreme hunger and occasional nausea.dh made me fresh pinapple this am it was lovely but not as easy as toast or cereal. I need a chef.

RunDMC · 02/07/2010 19:07

Hi just wanted to pop in - I was Dee36 but have changed my user name to RunDMC. Just to say I had my second scan today (at 8 weeks) and it wasn't good news. No development of the embryo since 2 weeks ago and no heartbeat - we had a slow heartbeat at 6 weeks. Booked into the local EPU on Monday morning to finalise things.

So if someone could please remove me from the stats I'd appreciate it.

Good luck to everyone x

cler · 02/07/2010 19:13

Sounds like a good evening to me. My husband works nights to so can be abit lonely when hes in work so i tend to go to bed early. I was doing slimming world and found the diet great and was also at gym every other day. I to havnt been to gym lately because of tiredness but i had a programm set for pregnancy on monday so i might start going again even if its just abit and i was thinking of doing aquanatel aswell. Hopefully after 12 weeks we will get an energy boost and not have nausea so diet and exercise will be alot easier.

leelteloo · 02/07/2010 19:40

Evening everyone, I have been having a few relaxing days as have come to stay with my mum and she is mostly looking after DD and saying nice mummy things like "why don't you go and put your feet up dear!" Yes yea yea for Grandmas, its just a shame mine lives 3 hours away so don't get this spoilt very often.
I've not got any MS just exhaustion and the evil wind as discussed earlier, it really is embarrassing and I've started snoring again, I snored like an animal all last pregnancy, poor DH will be glad of the break from my snoring and DD nocturnal habits.
I went and got my toes painted this afternoon and it reminded me of all the things you start to not to be able to do as pregnancy progresses, like paint your toes and as I got bigger other v important lower down grooming and I had a little chuckle about my attempts to try.
As for being bigger, I never got round to losing baby weight from DD, darn!! I did start to just before getting preg, but am whole stone heavier than last time, I'm gonna be a weeble and I may fall over

ledkr · 02/07/2010 19:53

i got down really small 5 yrs ago and maintained it until recently. Feel bit miffed that i didnt lose it before got pg as i am going to end up with loads to lose now.Was going to end gym memebership but yes maybe after 1st trim energy will come back. I was going to swim a lot and gym a bit but tiredness and worry about tummy ache got the better of me. Cler i love it when hes on nights is that terrible? But i lived on my own for 4 years before i met him and got very stuck in my ways eg sleeping like a starfish or falling asleep with the tv on and book an my face.I will be so glad when these tests are out of the way they are a real cloud on the horizon trying to be positive but not easy.

ledkr · 02/07/2010 19:55

leeltoo-I love the lower grooming comment.I was in the shower today and suddenly noticed several long dark hairs on the back of my calf. How long have they been there i asked myself mortified!I have never really needed to shave the back of my legs now i will have to start at a most inconvienient time!

debka · 02/07/2010 20:34

sorry to hear your bad news rundmc

TMI ALERT!!

Re the toilet issues- OMG was on beach with DD yesterday and suddenly knew I HAD to get to a toilet QUICK QUICK QUICK so grabbed her and our shoes, ran (ok wobbled) to public loos, had quick breathless search for one with toilet paper then aaaahhhhh raging trots..... to make it worse managed to pick the loo with no lock on the door and DD kept trying to escape....

After that haven't needed to go........

Have been eating weird pregnant foods too- Heinz chicken soup and lemonade mmmmmmmmmmmm, have craving for a cold can of Coke- haven't drunk Coke since I was a teenager!

gigglet · 02/07/2010 21:01

I hope you're ok rundmc

I think I'm starting to feel a little nausea at 6+1. I hope it stays just a little! My hunger comes out of nowhere - I seem to go from feeling fine to rumbling stomach at the drop of a hat.

No more spotting since the one time on Monday, it was only a small amount so probably nothing. I've decided to have an early scan done just to put my mind at rest so I'm booked in for Wednesday and will be just shy of 7 weeks. I'm really looking forward to it.

I also feel exhausted these days! I'm finding it so hard to sleep in with the heat, I wouldn't be surprised if its not preg related.

brockleyD · 03/07/2010 08:09

Hi giglet, I am the same, I get extreme hunger which makes me feel very weak and a bit dick when I then actually have to force myself to eat.

I am a bit worried though as this time round I haven't needed to go for a wee once during the night! Anyone else managing to sleep through? I guess because I had a mc in march I amvery sensitive.

Have a good weekend all!

X

Honeywitch · 03/07/2010 09:56

Sorry to hear that, rundmc Hope to see you on another thread with happier news in the future. Hugs.

Hello all, sorry to hear some of the news here, it's not an easy ride is it?
I went to see my GP yesterday and 'confirmed' my perg. by asking how many tests I'd done... appart from that he was very nice. Now have to book witht he midwife (sorry, first-timer).
Nausea is now prety much constant, eating weird things, like cold left-over porridge (I normally hate cold food) and non-stop carrots.
Also having very vivid dreams.
Have just finished my previous job, and unemployed at least till September (teaching), knitter how soon is too soon to start knitting for the blob?

grigglepuff · 03/07/2010 12:01

Hi knittakid , I was wondering the same thing... I knit all the time and have started a little blanket (alphabet blanket by Debbie Bliss if you're interested ;) ) that I'd already made for my best friend's baby last year and loved. I'm well and truly keeping this new project under wraps at the mo - only myself and DH know and my friends are very suspicious!
At the same time I am worried that by knitting for myself I'm tempting fate - which is silly really - what happens happens!

ledkr · 03/07/2010 13:03

i get hungry very suddenly too.its really intense i have to eat and then feel bit sick.
IIts difficult to find something you fancy at times i am just making a jacket potato as i couldnt face any bread. Today i feel more nauseaus that ever i hpe its not going to kick in now.

varicoseveined · 03/07/2010 14:46

ledkr - I get that too, ravenous then get filled up quickly then feel too full/sick. I'm going to try to eat little but often rather than usual meals and see how that goes.

My nausea/MS is starting to ramp up now...I had a low grade fever last night and still feel a bit poorly, but glad to be able to rest

CheeseChomper · 03/07/2010 18:31

Hello all,

Haven't been on for a while, so just thought i'd update my stats! Hadn't heard of the Chinese Preg Predictor before, but it's quite interesting!

Been feeling sick on and off- some days fine and ravenous, other days either sick or just have a 'meh' attitude to food.

Got my official scan date through after having an early scan, and it's not until the 26th July, when i'll be one day off 13 weeks- the wait is going to kill me! I was hoping for a slightly earlier one! Got my first midwife appointment though on Tuesday which i'm quite excited about! How's everyone else feeling? Anyone else got their 12 week scan at Kings in London?

Oh, and also, is anyone else feeling anti-social at the moment? I know I should be making the most of seeing people pre-baby, but at the moment I really can't be arsed i'm just so tired, that i've been working and then just coming home to chill. It's Saturday today, and i've done sweet fa! Normally i'm a bit of a social animal. Perhaps i'm finding it weird, as normally sunny afternoons would be spent with friends in a pub garden, and as i'm not drinking interest has waned! That's bad isn't it???!!! I'm not an alcoholic I promise!

My scan date has come through today as well - 27th July, just short of 12 wks. One of my fears is that everything will seem fine with my pregnancy then discover no heartbeat at the scan. I don't know how I'd recover from something like that.

The letter also says to bring a urine sample. Err, in what? Should I get a sample pot from my GP's surgery?

To all the other knitters, I'm waiting til I've had my scan. I've been browsing the baby patterns on Ravelry but have had to exercise some self-control in adding them to my queue. Big red flag to my friends also on there!

knittakid · 03/07/2010 19:20

yes, americanexpat I added a whole lot to my faves on ravelry and then panicked they would notice, will they if they are not in my qeue? the thing is I had been making things for some cousins, so that might be my excuse.

grigglepuff my family have a taboo about knitting too soon, but nobody has a specific date about how soon is too soon... so I guess is a bit of what you call tempting fate... I don't think I can wait much longer though, how bad is it to knit and then mc and then keep it for in case it it works sometime in the future?

If the Latvians can knit all those mittens for their wedding and still manage to get married I'm sure it's ok for us to knit!

americanexpat when is your scan?

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 03/07/2010 19:45

I love the Rowan apple tree blanket but sadly can't knit and it looks too complicated for me to be able to learn in time.

Yes, get a sample pot from the GP, or arrive early with a full bladder and ask for a pot when you get there. And remember to take an empty pot at each appointment to bring with you at the next one.

I have booking appointment (4 August) and scan appointment (16 August) through now. Gulp. I generally m/c before now if I'm going to, so perhaps I'm really having another baby...

linz17xxx · 03/07/2010 22:24

Good luck prof. That's how I feel as I miscarried at 5 weeks last time so every week over that now is a bonus and a bit closer to things being ok. Fingers crossed x

Grannyapple · 04/07/2010 08:58

Hey cheesechomper-yes my scan date @ kings means I'll also be just shy of 13 weeks. Got mine on 10th aug. I'm in bromley also so perhaps we should arrange a wee catch up after we've both had our scans? Think angels is in Orpington too, so fairly nearby.

Snap with the attitude to food-feeling sick past few days on way to work, but seems to have passed over the w/e-will be just my luck that start to feel sick next week on way to work. Don't know what I want to ear at the mo either.

tabbycat76 · 04/07/2010 09:13

Hi everyone... not been on here for a few days as I've been feeling absolutely rotten. I'm now 6+4 and am suffering with terrible ms. Started vomiting Thursday night and it has appeared as a regular occurance of an evening since, the days in which are spent confined to my bed. It really is nasty. Thankfully my husband is off work and brings me things as I need bless him. A mw friend of mine suggested bland foods only, no grease and no spice, so for eg jacket potatoes, mashed potatoes. Yesterday I had my husband make me a bowl of mash and do you know, it went down so well. Just what I needed so for you girls suffering like me, try it! Also, I tried the eat small but often rule Friday and it failed, back in the bathroom I went So glad to have next week off work as still feeling rubbish and even the mere thought of reading all these posts, or doing Bejewlled Blitz (sorry, I'm addicted) or even watching tv makes me want to heave.... what's that all about? It must be the raging hormones I've got unsettling me!

Anyway, re the knitting. I never was any good at knitting but I do enjoy X stitch. Any one else going to own up to that one?!?!? ;) I'm currently doing a fantastic baby birth sampler by Dimensions (Toy Shelf Birth Record). I did one 6 years ago when my niece was born and it looked amazing when done so thought I'd do one for me. Well actually, it was for a friend who's due any day and since then I've learnt that I'm pregnant and didn't fancy doing another. Plus another friend in the same circle is due Nov so I'd have had to do 3 before Feb next year which is a tall order! They make great gifts tho!

I have my next scan for next Friday at whoch point I'll be 7+3. It's to confirm if our pregnancy is still twins or if the smaller of the two gestational sacs has absorbed resulting in a singleton. Apparently earlier ms is a sign of twin pregnancy so I've been told by a mw friend but I'm not sure. I started with ms at 5+ weeks but though it could come on at any time. Hopefully the scan will be ok tho.

Also, on the ms front, anyone else trying ginger biscuits and ginger and lemongrass cordial?!? A biccy before you get up in the morning and sipping the cordial thoughout the day which I must admit sounded rank to me but is actually quite nice! Maybe that's why I wasn't quite so bad yesterday!??

Anyway, hope everyone has a good Sunday and maybe I'll pop on again later if I'm feeling up to it. Take care all. x

gigglet · 04/07/2010 09:31

CheeseChomper I'm feeling anti-social too. I just turned down a sunday roast at the pub and I'm considering pulling a sickie for the company bbq next weekend - both of which I'd normally jump at.

I don't think its the inability to drink. Its just plain lethargy. The week was exhausting, all I want to do is bum around at home.

ledkr · 04/07/2010 09:41

Hi all .Whats going on with the stats? I was looking forward to seeing my 9 on there today but i am going backwards and last one i was 8+3 noooooooo dont do this to me!
Cant remember who said what but yes i too am dreading scan showing a phantom or non viable pregnancy(it has happened before)but the concern over my upcoming nuchal scan has overidden that fear. I think it is normal to worry tho. i dont think my mind has let me think baby only pregnancy. Prof great that you are moving on this time i think we all have certain milestones we want to get past mine is 9 weeks so wooo today(shall i lie down all day?)Went to see dd in her dancing show last night. Went with Mum and Gran and wore loose dress but still felt like i looked preg but they didnt seem to notice. They probably think i have put on loads of weight. I also just found out that so called mate has told someone about my pg. I am fuming my own children dont know yet. I really thought i could trust her. Anyway my hormones wouldnt let me be my usual reserved self and i have sent her the snottiest message ever. Good old hormones.
