Oh crap. Just realised I screwed up the title!

OP posts:
justbeme · 20/06/2010 20:21

Congratulations to all the many babies that have arrived in the last few days - Im afraid I havent taken notes so cant congratulate you all individually.

We still have no name here for baby "Nobody" (Boy), still no nearer deciding...

What was the consensus re setting up a Postnatal thread now? I know when I was on a previous antenatal one, as soon as the first few babies were born then a postnatal June thread was set up. Or are we waiting for everyone to "pop" first??

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/06/2010 20:29

Don't worry about the title Ginger - it's fine . Thanks for starting it.

I imagine that I will quite possibly be the last to drop, as my babies like a bit of extra cooking. Please don't feel the need to wait for me before starting a post-natal thread though. I'll hunt you down wherever you are, and I reckon that LaT will keep me company here til close to the end anyway .

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/06/2010 20:30

Oh and very best of British to filly for tomorrow .

NizzyNoodles · 20/06/2010 20:37

Just marking my place - congrats to all the new arrivals!!

dinosaurinmybelly · 20/06/2010 21:29

Thanks for the new thread Gibbering - don't worry, title is fine. We are exhausted but happy here..

Sunworshipper · 20/06/2010 21:33

Wow, babies arriving all over the place. Congratulations playftse, madamefreckle, gaelicsheep, chestnut and monkeymargot.

Wishing you all the best for tomorrow Filly. Hope it will be an easier birth for you.

NowWeAre4 · 20/06/2010 21:37

hi everyone (new nickname from MomBanks)

Parker Thomas arrived on friday the 18th, a day past due. 8lb 14oz so a big one! Waters broke at 9:15am and he was with us before 1:00 that afternoon. No time for pain relief so glad he came quickly! A really positive birth actually, just like I wanted with a wonderfully supportive midwife and of course dh helping me through it all.

Feeding well so far and ds1 is being very sweet.

Good luck to all of you still to pop and congrats everyone who has made it!

Happy Fathers Day to any partners reading.

sunshineday · 20/06/2010 21:40

congratulations to all the new mummys i love all the names hope every thing is going well for you all.

Good luck to all that are still waiting hopefully not to long to go.

well I have finally brought Faye home from hospital, its been along time coming but I could not be happier. She now weighs 5lb and is a little cutie, looking forward to getting back to normal (well as normal as you can be with a baby on board)

imkeepingmum · 20/06/2010 21:50

Congratulations on the arrivals - just marking my place. Impatiently waiting for baby to arrive and not even overdue yet!

LaTrucha · 20/06/2010 22:02

I'll keep you company CSWS, and if I'm the last I'll tidy up and turn out the lights. . Bound to be the last, I'm sure. Baby boy seems very comfortable in there ATM.

Congratulations on bringing home Faye Sunshineday. Must feel lovely! Although, after my nearly two week stay in hospital with DD I felt like staying!

I'm much less impatient than I though I would be. TBH, I've felt so horrible through most of my two pregnancies I actually feel better right now than I have in nearly a year and a half of gestation. Freaky, I know. This is the day in my last pregnancy (38+4, I believe) that I had the section for DD, so we'll see how patient I am from now on.

FortunateHamster · 20/06/2010 22:49

I have just found this thread - guh!

I'm due on Tuesday (22nd) and am expecting, if the sonographer got it right, a little boy.

Can't help but feel that I'm going to be overdue. No signs yet at all. If I've had BH I haven't recognised them and no mucus plug either. Occasionally I feel a bit heavier/period-painy at night, but then feel fine in the morning. Is it possible to go into labour without having loads of signs first?

Congrats to everyone who's already given birth :D

fillybuster · 20/06/2010 23:24

Thanks for new thread GG and don't worry about the drop/pop title - at least we still have a 'home'

Thanks also to everyone for the good wishes

DH and I decided to 'do the deed'. not for baby-extrapolation purposes but because it has been quite a while and we know from experience it isn't something we come back to quickly post-birth...anyway, it was incredibly enjoyable (rather surprising for both of us) and....oddly, weirdly random contractions have started this evening so DH and I are rather hoping that this might be it, after all.

Either way, I shan't be online again until I'm back home with the fillyflump as my blackberry can't cope with MN ....so will update you all at some point soon...

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/06/2010 08:22

Congratulations nowweare4 .

Welcome fortunatehamster. You don't need to have signs beforehand to go into labour. I had none at all with dd (my first), and woke up at 5am having contractions 7 mins apart, and had a baby less than 12 hours later.

Ilovemyterrier · 21/06/2010 08:26

Hi All,

Congratulations to all the new arrivals...and thanks for the new thread and list GG - it's lovely reading about everyone's stories and makes me feel alot more positive about what lies in store for me...
Am due on 26th but would happily have him arrive any time from now!
FortunateHamster I have the same pattern of pains at night then am fine during the day until the evening. DP and I are trying everything in the book to entice him out soon
:-)
Good Luck to all who are still in the waiting room & I look forward to hearing about all of the new arrivals soon x

whenwillisleepagain · 21/06/2010 09:24

thank you for new thread - and congratulations to all new arrivals - sorry not to do individual welcomes, will try and be more welcoming again when am not permanently bf and able to type with more than one finger.

Good luck to all due in next few days

JoKettle · 21/06/2010 09:42

Urgh, 40+5 today and absolutely nothing happening. Had a sweep at 40+2 and another is booked for 41 weeks but just doesn't feel like labour is imminent at all! I'm never late for anything!!! Worst of all, the house now needs cleaned again, having made it spotless a couple of weeks ago!

Hope everyone else is doing well & coping with babies & bumps in this heat

myhandslooksoold · 21/06/2010 10:32

Hello
Congratulations to all the new mums!
LaTrucha don't worry I'm sure I'll be the last I usually am
fortunatehamster good question- I too am hoping for a labour to start without any of the warning signs!
I must say I don't want to go into labour today (despite being 40+2) as I got sunburnt around my neck yesterday (picking strawberries on our allotment- trying to keep active) and feel a bit of an idiot with a red neckline. Don't really want that on the photos.
I've got some reflexology tomorrow to try and encourage things along- I'll let you know how it goes.

herewegrow · 21/06/2010 13:37

Wow, so many babies in the last few days. Congratulations everyone.

MonkeyMargot · 21/06/2010 13:54

just bookmarking...

congrats on all the other new arrival - well done PlayFtse on your twin boys - can't believe all 3 sets of twins on our thread are boys!

good luck today filly - hope you managed to avoid induction and that the rudie business did the job.

greensnail · 21/06/2010 14:16

Congratulations to all the new arrivals, and big congratulations to sunshineday for finally getting faye home.

I'm feeling incredibly exhausted but very happy. Am finding tandem feeding exhausting - DD1 went through a few days when she practically gave up food in favour of milk, which was very hard work for me, but she's now eating again which is a relief.

Feeling slightly nervous about HV coming tomorrow as Alice is still jaundiced so I think we're going to end up having to get her checked out at the hospital. Also I have to go for a liver scan on wednesday so think it will be a busy few days of appointments for us.

Anyone got any ideas for titles for a postnatal thread then?

roundabout1 · 21/06/2010 14:17

Just marking my place

filly - good luck for today hope doing the business last night helped things along & fingers crossed you avoided the induction

sunshineday - so pleased you have brought Faye home, it must feel great to have her home with you at last. Mind you I'm wishing I could pop back into hospital for a night or two so I could put my feet up!

fortunatehamster - I went into labour with no warning signs, I had been doing loads of housework on the actual day, not through nesting just as it really needed doing! I started with backache about 10pm ish, by midnight realised yes this was it at last & by 2.40 had my baby.

RnB · 21/06/2010 16:57

Wow so many births! Congratulations to you all

MonkeyMargot am astonished by the weights of your boys! and fab names!

Just updating the list as I have finally named my little lady - Artemis, a little sister for Benedict and Rex.

bluesnowfalcon · 21/06/2010 17:05

Hi all just thought I'd give an update as we've moved to a new thread.

Saw midwife yesterday and she did internal to see if there was any movement towards bubs arriving! Anyway found that cervix was soft and admitted one finger but she couldn't manage to do an effective stretch and sweep. Since did have a bit of a bloody show yesterday afternoon and have had more mucusy stuff today and back ache on and off since yesterday. She is seeing us again on Saturday to do another stretch and sweep and then is going to book us for an induction next Tues(29th) if nothing happens before.

Anyone able to tell me how long after show people started in labour? I'm really hoping not to have to be induced as that means going to the main hospital rather than our local midwife unit and I really don't want to go there!

Wishing everyone well - both those witheir bundles and those like me who are waiting and watching!
