So sorry for Ski. Hope all goes well and I'll be thinking of you. Fingers crossed, you will soon be home with your darling boy, sipping champers and getting Jailbait to run around after you.

Cosmosis · 29/06/2010 23:18

SilverSky · 30/06/2010 06:47

cos noooooo wet look leggings ! Awesome if the preggo has long slim legs, not so lush if the preggo has shapely womanly legs fo' sho'. Did you spot any bargains ???

ski hope you had restful night !

laurielou · 30/06/2010 08:41

Yey for Cunty, congratulations!! Love the "smarted a bit" comment

Bloody Hell Ski you don't do things by halves, do you? Hope you're OK, will be sending positive BESH vibes your way....

Muser · 30/06/2010 08:59

I am feeling a bit menkul this morning. The last few days it's felt like someone is pulling my stomach inwards by the belly button. It's just tight and uncomfortable in a muscular way. Is that a normal thing? At the moment every twinge has me worrying this thing is in the wrong place again.

SomethingSuitablyWitty · 30/06/2010 09:15

Well, you certainly have been busy!

cunty - amazing news about your little boy! And I forgive you for terrifying me with other details you may have shared. Congratulations! Hope to get to hear the name outcome soon...

ski - sorry the home birth plan has gone tits up but exciting news that Julian will soon be here! Thinking of you lots and lots. Hope you are not feeling like crap with the pre-eclampsia by the way. Will be waiting for news!

My oh my, this place will never be the same !

muser - sounds normal to me. I remember all sorts of funny tuggy muscular pains at the start - sometimes very strong when I rolled over in bed etc. Not long to go 'til your scan missis! Hope it will be fab for you. I was also really happy when a quick lurk in the palais revealed that cho had also had a scan showing things all in the right place!

As for me, depending on what I wear, I now look pregnant. A couple of people have even asked me. So there you go, I've arrived in bumpsville. My belly button is also looking weird - Clearly, it's on its journey outwards and the inside feels incredibly soft and weird - any one else on this voyage of discovery?

reginaMonologue · 30/06/2010 09:58

yay for cunty - I hope she does spill the trials and tribulations of labour - best to be prepared IMHO!

Update from ski - she had a good night in hospital and her BP has gone down nicely - she gets to harass a consultant later today and they're gonna scan her too to check out Julian's growth to see how he's doing. Will let you know more when I do.

muser I had weird belly button tug thing, albelit a bit later than you.... fear not lady, scan date is edging closer by the hour.

swits I can't see the bottom of my belly button - who knows if it'll ever pop out or feel squidgy! How is the rib pain btw?

organiccarrotcake · 30/06/2010 10:01

Spoken to ski this morning. I'm sure you're all doing so but if you do have her number I think she'd really appreciate texts or calls as, poor thing, she's stuck in for a while She's obviously disappointed about the HB and is reading up as much as poss about pre-eclampsia but on the positive side her blood pressure has come down to a normal level (a bit high for her but ok) and everything else is fine, so it's well under control and she feels absolutely fine (just fed up).

Still on track for induction around the weekend assuming she remains stable. Either way she's in the best place and they're looking after her well.

On another note, silver, cos has a perfect body for wearing anything

muser V normal to feel lots of pulls and stuff. One which may get you is an excruciating pain on the side of your abdomen (they call it round ligament pain). I got it when turning over in bed and it was horrible, and lasted about 30 seconds or more. It passed after a few weeks but was to do with everything stretching etc. I know you'll be thinking of every twinge but all I can say is that twinges and pains are absolutely to be expected and don't necessarily mean things are going wrong (in fact it's a good sign). Obviously you know the symptoms of ectopic (assume you know the shoulder pain one?) anyway and I guess a lot will be similar, if perhaps more isolated (?) so I know it will be tough until you get that scan. When is it? Thinking of you...

fanny It's not my thing (really!) but it's quite a movement (pun intended). I do know people who have done it. But it seems like a lot of hard work to me and I've never worked out what you do overenight!

organiccarrotcake · 30/06/2010 10:02

X post reggie, sorry wasn't intending to duplicate your news re ski!

Muser · 30/06/2010 10:04

Scan is on Monday, so not long to wait. Wibble.

I don't have ski;s number, but pass on a few chinese burns from me.

Cosmosis · 30/06/2010 10:18

Had mw appointment this morning, iron count low (unsurprising, it often is, so will need to up my iron tablets) and some protein in my urine ? but not enough to worry about at the moment, just need to keep an eye on it. She also booked all my appointments, right through to the end! That felt a bit final.

And no, I don?t have the body for wet look leggings!

PollyPoo · 30/06/2010 10:34

I don't think anyone has the body for wet look leggings... yuck!

Muser I also felt similar tuggings and twinges - for a few weeks I just couldn't bear to have any pressure across lower abdo at all. And I am also getting those ligament pains when I turn over in bed or try to get up off sofa using stomach muscles. I find bending knees in bed before rolling over helps.

Right, I'm going off radar for a couple of days, plz no-one else to give birth before I get back?!

Cosmosis · 30/06/2010 12:53

ski update, the hosp are serving rare beef and peanuts for lunch. washed down with some raw prawns no doubt

SkaterGrrrrl · 30/06/2010 13:14

Hey dudes

YAY cunty, huge congrats to you & the boy. And sending my best to mainland Europe to our Ski.

Back from Glastonbury and all I can say is, next time you go to a festival, stuff a cushion up your shirt - I was treated like royalty, bumped to the front of queues and got a lot of love. Probably because I was walking around with my bump painted like this.

laurielou · 30/06/2010 13:48

Skater definitely didn't see you at Glasto, think I would've remembered you!! Tis bumpclicious!!

Curly what is this Platypus of which you speak?

Don't have ski's number but please send her a few fish-slaps from me. I'm still laughing at her post yesterday on the "OMG I've eaten an ice-cream" fred. I just wish ski would get off the fence sometimes

CurlyCasper · 30/06/2010 16:45

i love that skates! I do face painting myself and now wish i'dused my bump as a canvas before it got too big and stretch marked. Glad you and loz had a good time.
Platypus is a drink bladder. Google platypus hoser to see what i mean: gas and air in one hand, water in other!

Sneaked a read through my labour and other hosp notes today. From 10cm to birth was just under an hour and there's no mention of my menkulism. In fact, it reads as though i did sneeze her out. Funny there's little mention of her coming out nose up, pooing in her waters and dragging her hand across my genitalia, leaving some nasty grazes. (first degree tear too, not stitched). but you know what? It already doesn't seem that bad. And reading back, debriefing, really has helped. Lots oftalk of me being calm, breathing and reading through the pains, and refusing even cocodamol until i was almost 5cm. Feeling proud today.

Hope any bad memories are slipping away cunty

Any news of the skiduction? Actually, i'll drop her antext after this feed, must before i lose a nipple.

organiccarrotcake · 30/06/2010 17:24

Sounds good, cas. Always good to review these things. She was nose up? You mean back to back? That's how LC was (although turned before delivery) - usually means longer, harder labour. You did amazingly

skater LUVIN the belly! Gorgeous!

polly have fun!

I'm leaving on maternity leave!!!!!! Now!!!!!

rollerbaby · 30/06/2010 17:50

Hooray for mat leave rots. I hope you are reclined on a sunlounger as we speak with a mojito.

Skates your bump is fab. I might get the lipstick out later. Sadly my bump isn't quite as well formed yet, so might make a mess if I sit down. I have total Glasto envy. How did you manage with loos etc/drunk people? Oh well, guess I will never go as a childless woman now...

Curly back to back is supposed to be hideous. Props to you luvver.

saltyair · 30/06/2010 18:35

Hello

Well done to Ms Tuesday!

Am menkuling like a good 'un today. Due to lack of symptoms, or at least lack of pronounced enough symptoms, i did a stupid digital test. The 'number of weeks pregnant' indicator is the same as it was a week and a half ago. I know think my hormones are not increasing, which means everything is definitely going astray. Bugger.

rollerbaby · 30/06/2010 18:43

Hold your horses, the levels of HCG can differ in every woman, so not necessarily an indicator. How many weeks were you when you tested with digi test and how many are you now? You know that they tell you not to test after 2 o 3 weeks due to inaccuracies?

saltyair · 30/06/2010 18:51

I am 6ish weeks - so 4 after conception and it said 2-3 weeks. Same as it did a week and a half ago....

Don't know why I tested tbh is merely another way to torture self.

I need to stop menkuling and chill the fuck out is what I need to do!

SilverSky · 30/06/2010 19:03

I will never ever be able to wear wet look leggings. I was not blessed with long lithe legs. Just ones that are considered to be generous in the thigh curves department.

Poor ski totally frustrating.

skaterr that is some bump !!

witty welcome to the bump club. Today a girl at work did not realise I was pregs. It's not like you can't tell! I did ask if she thought I was just Badly bloated!!!

Work is exhausting at the minute. I am totally shattered. I've got to make lunchboxes tonight but can't be arsed. Can't leave it til morning as I need a compulsory half hour to panic that I have clothes to wear and then change into about three or four different combinations. Seriously you should see the state of me today.

Got a Drs appt this week for a check up tho I cocked the weeks up and I think I am a week early but we'll see.

Little person seems to have changed routine. Not so active first thing now. Just a few flickers throughtout the day. Not much. Then as soon as I sit down for the evening it's dance city, which is nice.

I am noticing that I have already adopted the preggo waddle.

On a plus point my ache in my side has virtually gone so that is very good.

It's been really nice that today has been cooler heat wise. Tho I am sleeping well as we have a fan. However, peeing in the night is back!!!!

So what's new???
