:P to rots. And for all I know hippy babies like yours are into 'free pooing'.

Update: Now on left breast. Still wearing the same thing. Nappy change imminent.

moo re breast pumps - I've shortlisted the Medela Swing and the Philips Avent one you mentioned - both I think are 2 phase but the medela one is only around 90 squid rather than the big buckaroos of the Philips... I'm pretty sure it's not the sort of thing you can try before you buy, which is most annoying!

Muser · 29/06/2010 15:44

I am booked to go to a spa for my birthday. I was perusing the list of treatments dreaming what I could have. Then I got to the list of what treatments you're allowed in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy.

Hand massage it is then. And I had a freebie hammam stint booked as well. I've been in it before and it's not super hot, but it's still not recommended. Ah well, I shall laze in the ordinary pool instead.

rollerbaby · 29/06/2010 15:45

yes BUT, the Phillips one has the advantage of being compatible with the steriliser that I've bought as well as cool bags and stuff that you;d need if you want to take it to work to express in the loos. Additional benefit is that it is mega quick apparently, so 5 minute jobby in the ladies should do it.

I might sleep on it for a month or two. John Lewis is not going anywhere.

rollerbaby · 29/06/2010 15:48

Musalicious you could have a head massage (ooh yes please), reflexology, pedicure, manicure, eyelash tinting????

I have to say massage I had a few weeks ago when we went away for night, not that relaxing as had to lie on my side in the recovery position and the bloody spa woman kept on talking to me. I also had it straight after full english so had additional concern of thinking I might be sick. Nice.

reginaMonologue · 29/06/2010 15:51

moo ooh good call on the sterilizer compatibility issues, I think you just made my mind up for me (chalks up another 250 quid to squander out of the baby fund...)

rollerbaby · 29/06/2010 15:55

he he he. maybe we should start a new thread called "how to spend your maternity pay before you actually get it."

reginaMonologue · 29/06/2010 16:05

moo best not put us in charge of the country's budget eh?

muser I had my aura read and a reiki session - that was rather cool, and I got a picture of my "glow" which was a nice keepsake! I have to say the profile they built of me was pretty accurate!

Muser · 29/06/2010 16:07

No pedicures! I hate people touching my feet. I bite my nails so manicures are basically pointless. I am going for a head, neck & face massage. It's on the safe list.

PerfectDromedary · 29/06/2010 16:15

I did just read that as if you bite your toenails, muse. And then I was a little bit sick in my mouth.

Muser · 29/06/2010 16:22

My sister does that camelly one

PerfectDromedary · 29/06/2010 16:23

Really? How very flexible of her.

Oh God, now I'm thinking of those fungal-toenail adverts. And now I really am going to vom everywhere. Damn you, vile Muser!

Cosmosis · 29/06/2010 16:28

I haz had text from skibird to say she has been admitted to hosp with pre-eclampsia and will be induced at weekend. She says she is not fucking ready and asks for cunty news. Come on cunty, ski needs you!!!!

CurlyCasper · 29/06/2010 16:34

been using a top grade medela in hosp and have just bought the Swing on great Mw's recommendation. Just been discharged so off to try it out! Tommy T steam sterilisation kit chosen by SFF. Will report back, when i have used it. Hadn't expected to need these things yet.

To whoever suggested taking a Platypus in for labour (cos?) you are a godess and a life saver. Best thing i packed. Thank you!

Muser · 29/06/2010 16:39

Oh gosh, ski! What's with the July babies all deciding to arrive early?

Hope she's doing ok along with apres-ski.

FannyPriceless · 29/06/2010 16:40

Oh noes... worrying for ski. Why is everyone suddenly tyring to jump their place in the queue? It's not good for my nerves, you know. Thinking of you muchly.

Yay for casp going home.

Cosmosis · 29/06/2010 16:43

yes curls the platypus was not me, I cannot take the credit.

reginaMonologue · 29/06/2010 16:45

ski fleece! What's going on you crazy Muther! (almost!) Wishing you the best of luck with it all! I have everything crossed for you (in a preggo kinda way - so in fact it's all gaping open a bit like a luge shoot cos Julian is just gonna slide right outta there!

rollerbaby · 29/06/2010 16:50

Ski bloody hell woman, hope you are ok. Uncross your legs and prepare to be ready. I'm sure you'll have the midwives jumping with demands for cold beer etc.

GOOD LUCK

PerfectDromedary · 29/06/2010 16:51

ski Waaaah! Hope you is ok. Best of luck, lady, will all be fine.

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 29/06/2010 16:55

Argh Ski! Hope you are ok - will be back on the tenterhook until we hear!

June seems to be the raspberry leaf tea of the calendar!

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 29/06/2010 17:02

Come on Rots and Iggy - own up, are you also secretly in labour?

Ski is not supposed to be in hospital at all - she will not be happy! I'm glad I'm not there!

Scorpette · 29/06/2010 17:15

Christ on a bike, came to lurk for Cunty's news, just read about Ski. You'll be tip-top, old chap. Try not to scare the MWs too much
