Yes I sympathise with all those with the untidy DHs, mine's favourites are putting teabags in the sink instead of the bin and dirty dishes etc on top of the dishwasher, oh and also throwing clothes at the washbin which go down the back, even when i point out that it is so hard for me to bend down at the moment. They just don't see it do they and i end up being a nag the whole time ...

I never saw HV until after with DD either, think it just depends on area you live.

I know what you mean MLIC - starting 5th week of mat leave now, kind of wish that i hadn't stopped so early, but only did it as DD was 2 weeks early, so assumed would be the same this time...should have known!!

Think i need to check hospital bag again, sure i don't have everything in it, but can't be bothered to do anything. Know i will regret it if i don't though. Thanks for the useful list again wonder i will use that

kapars · 28/06/2010 13:28

wonder What is the red book for lo you have in your hopsital bag??

Wonderstuff · 28/06/2010 13:31

Still have done bugger all today - tried to go and book a long overdue hair appt, but is Monday and half the village is closed - is like living back in the 70's! (I imagine, I'm not actually that old).

Dh called - he did offer to come home early if I needed him - he seemed to think the house was tidy and there was no washing up to be done! He did also offer to do it all when he gets home. He genuinly wants me to be able to chill and have a relaxing time of it at the moment, he's a good man, just a bit egocentric at times - we'll have a few words when he gets home, it'll all be good.

My constipation seems to have reversed - and my diet hasn't changed at all, last time I had a major bowel emptying before going into labour - sorry for tmi, but between that and bh, can't help getting a little excited.

Right, can't sleep so going to push through it - going to do as much washing up as I can be arsed, tidy front room, make up moses basket, pack hospital bag. All baby washing is now done. If all that gets done before dd comes back I'll order some knitting supplies - need a project and if I have any energy (unlikely) I'll wash the diningroom floor, would really like that done before lo turns up.

Big sympathies to those of you now past due dates/expected birth dates - I'm 3 weeks off edd and thoroughly fed up, final stretch now.

Fab titles spireal I like the last one best.

Sorry for all my frequent posts today - a bit stream of consciousness - going to get off the web and on with some real life now.

Wonderstuff · 28/06/2010 13:33

kapers the one the HV gave me when she did a pre-visit - if you live in an area where health visitors don't come round until after the birth, then you won't get one until then. Its were they record results of 6 week check up and baby clinic weigh-ins and vaccination information.

kapars · 28/06/2010 13:35

ok guess I'll get one after the birth then. Thanks.

viksam · 28/06/2010 13:37

Jojo you sound very happy and relaxed, thats a lovely way to go into tomorrow, i do hope im in the same frame of mind when its my turn. I think its the not knowing thats very difficult isnt it. I feel preassured to do all my jobs but at the same time am very consious that i may have another FIVE weeks!!!!! Crazy. Ur DH sounds lovely, isnt it great when they step up like that, he's a good boy!!

Kapars my HV got in touch about two weeks ago and made an appointement, i had no idea they would come before hand but thanks guys i now know what to expect. I an very curious about this 'red book'???

emster I am really enjoying my Mat leave...well technically im on holiday for last week and the rest of this week but have done exactly what u said and washed everything, i had to make do with them being on the clothes horse though, had to sacrifice my washing line for the conservatory! Have u got anything else planned?

spireal I like;
July 2010: Our babes are due! Within the month, they'll all début.
Might not be strictly accurate but its very clever, im dreadfull at that stuff!

Funny u should ask about anifers i was wondering about her earlier, if ur lurking anifers how u doing?

Right, im going to sort clothes and maybe do a bit of ironing i think..........and/or i might sit and eat pancakes and syrup! I have also brought some cookie mix to make later, im telling myself its propper baking but u only have to add water so im not sure it counts!!hehe!

gracie if she said 'excellent' and your mum's having to replace the runners then you need to put negative feedback for her. You could email her first and say that the runners all needed replacing cos none of the drawers could be used and see if she has a decent excuse, otherwise it'll have to be negative. (I hate leaving negative feedback but it's there for a reason)

I haven't had a red book for the next one yet, might have to hassle them since we'll be moving soon-ish after it's born.
Speaking of which, we know we have to move in August but the army in its wisdom still haven't told us where or when, just sometimes in August...DH got told today he can't take all his paternity either so it just gets better and better in this fricking job...

wonder I hope something starts soon for you!

I'm really, really hoping for an early one just so I can get used to having 2 DCs before moving somewhere completely new!

Jojobil · 28/06/2010 15:26

Kapars I'm in London and with DD the HV came after she was born.. Have not heard from no one yet this time so I assume it will be after too. ;)

Gracie123 · 28/06/2010 15:39

Chulita That completely sucks and is soooo like the military!! I'm feeling really for a friend at the moment who hasn't seen her DH since she found out she is pg and has been told he can have four days leave starting on her EDD.

So if she goes overdue (pretty likely as it's her first) he won't get to see his baby. The dates are apparently inflexible - sods!

I think I have decided to leave neutral feedback, as it seems less mean than negative and hopefully she will be less likely to leave me negative? I have tried emailing her, but no response. I'm probably being a bit impatient though.

How long do you have to leave feedback?

WickedWitchSouthWest · 28/06/2010 15:40

Ergh. Sweep = Not Nice. And nothing is imminent at all. Only dilated 2cm which is obviously normal after already having one baby go through there and she says it's very hard still However she gave me a thorough going over - I've left nail marks in my thighs!!

On my notes she's put membranes -2. Any idea what that means?

She'll do it again next Monday, then if still nothing I have to go to the hosp on Thursday for monitoring and another sweep and they'll book induction for Saturday 10th. I really don't want to be induced!

So I'm bouncing on my ball, I've walked round the shops for 45 mins, I've hoovered and washed the floors and dusted everywhere. The house is sparkling, I've got back ache but am a bit down that nothing seems to be happening...I really hoped to be dilated more

Sorry to moan.

glasto I didn't realised you had started mw training! Are you going to take it up again?

spirael your hv sounds like a gem, the one I had with dd found it wierd that I was bf, was a terrible gossip so couldn't tell her anything and was just vile. Fingers crossed I get a nice one this time, it put me off speaking to anyone with dd, and in fact she hasn't seen anyone since she was 9 months - she's now 4!

I vote for "July 2010: Our babes are due! Within the month, they'll all début." Really nice and positive

Haven't seen anything from anifers for a while either. Hope you're ok if you're reading.

wonder I'm having emergency dash to the loo twice a day at the mo, had that right before dd was born but it's been going on a few days now so maybe not! Still, I'd prefer to be clear than not when it comes to giving birth!!

I'll keep bouncing....

Chulita · 28/06/2010 15:44

gracie that's awful for your friend! we're always talking about signing off...it's just what to do next.
Feedback can be left months later so no rush, and she can't leave you negative feedback, sellers can only leave positive so you're perfectly safe

Hope anifers is alright, thought of her last night...

Spirael · 28/06/2010 15:47

I can't just refuse the CTF? You wouldn't think they'd make it so hard to not claim money.

Oh well... It can be their problem. They can have the bother of setting up the account and stuff, which I'll most likely ignore and/or forget about when I leave the country! If it is only £50, then LO can buy a lovely bag of sweets with it in eighteen years time when that's worth practically nothing.

DH is an accountant and has looked into the various accounts, and basically said he is not using one of the CTF accounts as our LO's main savings accounts, due to the restrictions imposed and the poor rates of interest. Since it's his area of expertise, I'm just leaving him to it.

I'm just starting my third week of not working, but technically I'm on holiday and not maternity leave at present. I had to use up all my holiday for the year before starting maternity leave, I have this week and another one to get through before I'm officially counted as on maternity.

I kind of hope LO isn't born before I do start maternity leave, because it'll be awkward in regards to reorganising things with work, as they'll have to move my maternity leave date forwards to match the birth date. Which in turn will mean I have left over holiday that they apparently can't just pay me for, so will need to be somehow tacked on to the end. Weird systems!

Hee, you sound similar to me, Viksam. I made some brownies yesterday, and some waffle batter too. The waffle recipe makes the fluffiest waffles ever, gorgeous with maple syrup! I know what I'm having for dinner.

Gracie123 · 28/06/2010 16:41

Mmmmmmm.... Waffles sound good.

If only SPD wasn't so bloody painful I'd be able to stand up long enough to make some!!

Still getting brace and zimmerframe tomorrow, so things should start easing up (please?)

TBH I found the most helpful thing is DH pressing hard on either side of my hips whilst I walk up the stairs (fairly comical to watch) it actually allows me to put weight on my right leg almost pain free.

memphis83 · 28/06/2010 16:42

mlic i got my 1st heartburn tablets at hospital and they dont wont just do me a script for me to collect, its crazy im trying to save them a wasted appointment!
wwsw my mw was convinced too that she wouldnt be seeing me at tomorrows app she thought it would be on home visit with a baby! im very jealous as my mw said that mw's arent allowed to sweep until 41 weeks as its against their code of conduct and only a consultant is allowed to sweep b4 then, i will ask her again tomorrow though!!
wonder picking stuff up off the floor??? my dh comes home every night to me dropping lots of things that he has to pick up for me as i cant reach floor so my dh wouldnt have a chance of me picking his stuff up! my dh is very good normally and has been even better since pregnancy, we had one major blow out when i was 4 months as i had the 'cheek' to leave the milk pan dirty when he needed it! we only have about 10 other pans he could use!! i was so annoyed as it was so pathetic so i kicked him out bolted the door and went bed at 5 am next morning he came creeping back for car keys to go work, so think he doesnt dare be like that again!!!
finally got a scan time for wednesday ony 8 days after they said i needed an emergency scan!
really didnt think i would have a july baby but him being a june baby is looking unlikely!

WickedWitchSouthWest · 28/06/2010 16:50

Really memphis? maybe I'm looking suitably fat and fed up

Can't believe you've waited 8 days for an emergency scan...

I'm bloody fed up of this ball now.

beckyg123 · 28/06/2010 17:12

TMI alert- oooohhhh these piles hurt so much... anyone got any good advice? the pressure is so bad, i swear they get worse everytime i go to the loo today. My bowels are also quite loose so not constipation but still getting agrivated every time i go i think. I'm using baby wipes to clean and anusol cream

cleaned my bedroom and put on fresh bedding- so looking forward to going to bed tonight! i love a fresh bed, would love to have the energy to change every day been so lazy lately feels like forever since i changed it and in the heat i couldn't bear it any more!

memphis83 · 28/06/2010 17:22

wwsw yes i honestly thought she would say 40 weeks, my regular mw gets married on my edd so i will have a stranger doing mine if i go that far, im sick of mine too my bump looks like a giant egg it goes into a point! yes it was 8 days for scan i rang 3 times to go mad down phone too, i know my lo is ok but to think of poor women whos babies arent ok and having to wait in that time their babies could be saved! when i was 6 weeks i had an ectopic twin and luckily it had died and started to disperse as they left me on ward 4 days b4 i had an emergency scan! if it hadnt dispersered it could have ruptured tubes and been fatal! they are messing with womens lives! when i was having that scan a poor woman was losing her twins she was foriegn and didnt understand nurses so for 3 days she thought one baby had survived until they finally scanned her and both were gone! horrible to see! (sorry for long post ive gone all angry about it again now)

beckyg123 · 28/06/2010 17:29

memphis that is awful hope you send in a letter of complaint to head of department and your nhs trust!

gracie hope the seller offers some refund! its only right, needing new runners is definately not excellent condition! hope the brace and walking frame make a difference to your last while of pregnancy- should you expect things to go back to normal after birth or take a while?

WickedWitchSouthWest · 28/06/2010 17:38

oh my god memphis that's horrendous! It's frightening to think what could happen.

becky sorry I can't help you but ouch...hope someone has some good advice.

Gracie123 · 28/06/2010 18:06

Took about 12 weeks before I was of the frame last time, but I came off painkillers in about 8 - lots of physio!

That was with complete bed rest though (as in the MW's passed me DS to feed, I was not even allowed to sit up!) but I hear down south they make you get up next morning for brekkie after a section so they can try and kick you out ASAP

Not looking forward to that! Hopefully should still be allowed my zimmerframe, although sis was saying that they made her push DDs everywhere in a cot (so she wouldn't drop her) and I don't know how I'll do that and manage a frame

viksam · 28/06/2010 18:07

chulita cant believe they cant/wont tell u where u have to move to, thats ridiculous. Have u moved many times? Are the people friendly on the whole?

I have been really really tired today, just cant seem to apply myself to anything. Still got the ironing to do and all the other jobs on the list too. I think its the heat thats doing it, i have no energy at all. And now DH is home but going straight out again to the gym. Does anyone elses DH not respond when u have told them something e.g. when i tell him something about, say, work he doesnt ask any questions or make any comments he just says 'Hmm' or something equally non comittal, yet when he is talking i will ask probing questions and be interested. Im probably just taking things to heart too much because im tired and a bit fed up. Talk about mood swings, i was quite happy this morning!

memphis OMG thats terrible, cant believe ur just having ur scan, thats crazy. I do think u should write a letter, theres surley no excuse for that treatment is there.

beckyg123 · 28/06/2010 18:08

thanks anyway wwsw- hope someone can help! think i'm going to google as so so so sore right now
Sorry to hear your sweep wasn't very pleasant, hope is has some success tho. Sorry no idea about the membrane thing, sure someone will tho! maybe glaston?

oooh spireal choc brownies! can you point me in the direction of a good recipe? last time i tried they were crunchy- i want chewy ones!!!

Chulita · 28/06/2010 19:11

beckyg I'm sorry you've got piles I had the most horrendously painful ones about a month ago and it's unbelievable how much it hurts! I had an icepack wrapped in a muslin against them for about half an hour. Looked ridiculous but it helped a bit.

gracie I hope the brace helps - not long to go now! And they can't 'make' you do anything. If you can't manage walking without the frame they'll just have to work around you - it's their job...just make sure you don't let them bully you!

memphis that's shocking. Here they do random scans when I go in for the heartrate checks. Last week I asked which way LO was lying and the MW said - ooh, we'll get the scanner out and see! The week before they were getting a really fast rate and we were down getting a proper sonographer scan within 5 mins. It is one of the better maternity units in England though so I'm very lucky!

viks I've only moved twice with the army. The last place was really friendly, this place is horrible. I haven't got any army friends but have made some lovely friends through the Sure Start.

Ok, I've just dusted the living room for the first time in 10 months I've got the squits after being constipated for nearly 3 months, I'm feeling a little bit nauseous and the BH have been taking my breath away. I'm only 36+4 though so this could go on a while. Mind you if I go early DH can get time off, EDD is right around big exam time so early baby would be a good thing!
