Possibly our last ante-natal thread ladies!

gracie I can't believe you eat at 10:30pm! that's an hour past my bedtime! Hope your lo is really wriggly for the last few weeks!

I had to go back to hospital yesterday because the lo's heartbeat was a bit low. Turned out fine but because it's still ectopic they now want to check it every week - annoying cos you'd think you could just lie there with the monitor and get a reading but you can't, you have to hold the stinking sensor in place for 30 mins so you can't read/knit/play games, and the bed isn't comfy at all - grr!

I'm looking for a bouncy chair for this lo and a comfort blanket/toy but no luck yet. I don't like the blankets that are just a head on a piece of cloth, I think they're a bit macabre! And I don't want to pay £80 for a bouncy chair...

dh I washed lo's clothes about a month ago just so they're done

Chulita · 09/06/2010 09:47

stac good luck today! Of my friends who had GD they ended up with larger babies but none of the lo's were affected in any other ways.

kapars · 09/06/2010 09:53

Hey ladies, this thread is zooming fast as usual!
perhaps anifers doesn't know we've moved thread as we are all keen to hear more news from her? Though it sounded positive and she might be sent home.
gracie could they not tell from the scan what lo was doing from movements etc?

Had lovely day off yesterday, coffee with new NCT friends and then dinner with close friends in central London - though don't think I will be braving the tube again. Get knackered just walking to the station so got taxi back.

stac my cousin apparently had gd and it didn't present problems in itself, she had to have a c-section because of heart problems that she was born with but nothing to do with gd. Her lo is now a healthy 5 year old and very cheeky girl.

A friend has lent us a baby bath, a bouncer and a car seat that they hardly used as they don't have a car which was very kind of them.

Gracie123 · 09/06/2010 10:30

Recent scans have all shown LO sleeping, which is why they are concerned I think. It does move, just not as much as they'd like.

I don't normally eat at 10.30!! I think it just took DH that long to realise I wasn't going to wake up and make him anything!!

DH says I did get up for the loo, but I don't remember it. Apparently. I stumbled around the bedroom falling into bed on top of him and carried on sleeping, so he gently extracted himself and moved onto my side of bed. I think stress must of worn me out, I haven't slept that well for ages!

WickedWitchSouthWest · 09/06/2010 10:33

Morning all

DD finally went to sleep just before 1am last night so I'm pretty shattered now. Just done another clean through and off to have a shower. Husband is off on a jolly overnight tonight but at least he was home last night to help with madam or I might have lost the plot.

glasto I'm starting to get on my husband's nerves faffing with things in the house so he'd probably hire me out at the mo!

Poor you with the wisdom tooth! One of mine was playing up a few weeks ago but luckily it was just something caught on it and the dentist sorted it out Lovely.

gracie the heartbeat is too regular? Crikey what will they come up with next? I really hope you just have a very chilled out baby there, unfortunately I'm either carrying a star can-can girl or the next David Beckham.

dh I've done all the clothes and bedding I've been on one for a good 8 weeks now and we're ready to go. Asked husband to build the crib and he said "would the weekend be too late?" ummm, well I don't know! I doubt it but I've been really frantic with the nesting this last 10 days or so.

anifers hope all is well this morning.

Gracie123 · 09/06/2010 11:16

Yeah, I thought regular was a good thing, but apparently it means the baby is not experiencing any emotions/thoughts/movement etc...

Anyhow, a glass of iced water is apparently the trick they always use to wake up sleepy babies, so next time you girls are worried, reach for the freezer box

Jojobil · 09/06/2010 11:36

I hope all is weel Anifers and Gracie and Stac hope you feel ok.

I've ben slowly loosing the plot. Waking up at night a lot and a zombie during the day... It does not help that DD is up before 6am and ready for action! Today after the school drop off I was speaking to another mum in the shop. Arranging a play date for DD and we were exchanging numbers. She said she will call me and I will have her number, I told her my number and she put it in her phone. But when my phone rang I jumped up in scare. Then I proceeded to give her my number again "Oh but you already have it as you just called me!'. Anyway she was laughing at me. My brain just does not work anymore.

memphis83 · 09/06/2010 13:02

afternoon ladies, just got back from hospital appointment, i told them about my palms and soles itching they have given me some tablets for it (had to wait an hour and a half for prescription!!) at 1st it sounded like they were planning to induce me as originally planned then my consultant came in and said baby is extremly happy and he has grown again so he isnt concerned and i have lost my plug but it doesnt mean anything as cervix is closed, so my next appointment is in 5 weeks a week after dd!!! he is hoping i will have lo by then though and that app will be cancelled
came out all hot and bothered and spoke to dh on phone saying i was frustrated and he said well you have been ok past few weeks, i flew off the handle as i was up all night in pain and nothing would wake him!!! so i shouted how would you f ing know your always at work or asleep!! he also wound me up by telling me i drink too much fizzy drink since being pregnant so that got my back up!!and breeeeeath, rant over!
hope everyone is ok today still nothing from anifers wonder if shes a mummy or just resting?

Jojobil · 09/06/2010 13:24

Memphis do you feel like they are looking after you enough? If you don't call and make an appointment with the Head Consultant. It sound very odd that with your history they will not see you until after due date...
I had to take care of my own appointments and made a couple of extra ones- which is why I feel I've been looked after!

memphis83 · 09/06/2010 14:02

jojo he was the head consultant who got called in to discuss inducing, i will still see my midwife and if anything comes up on bloods i will get called in,im a bit shocked as my neurologist needs me to have the mri so i thought that if they left me to full term they would start me off at 40 weeks!

Jojobil · 09/06/2010 14:14

You should make another appointment and tell them you are confused and worried. You need a peaceful mind and getting mixed messages like this is not good.. I hope I'm not sticking my nose in ;)

Gracie123 · 09/06/2010 14:44

I agree. If you are unclear whether the consultant understands your neurologists concerns you should definitely make another appointment. Could you ring and leave a message re: your concerns and maybe they could call you back so that you don't have to go into the clinic?

I'm a bit of a hypocrite, DH has just pointed out that as a dr-phobic I'd never make an extra appointment!!!

DesperateHousewife21 · 09/06/2010 16:07

In that case I might do the washing this weekend along with sorting his room out and then I know everything has been done in preparation, oooh its so exciting now!!

Ive been reading the funny birth stories in mumsnet classics (as Ive only JUST found out how to get to it, keep seeing people talk about "classics" but could never find it ha!) and its been keeping me going nearly all day, theres 26 pages!! Alot have been used as quotes in the mumsnet pregnancy book, I recommend the thread though if anyone is stuck for something to do.

OP posts:
memphis83 · 09/06/2010 16:27

jojo and gracie maybe your right, i see mw next tuesday i will discuss it with her to see if she thinks i should go back again until then i think i will bounce on my ball!! my bad mood has got even worse, as i didnt sleep thought i would have a nap b4 dh returns so as i didnt pick up he has rang mobile house mobile house, ive just had another tired rant at him clearly not wanting me to sleep, he just kept saying you didnt pick up, i said you dont when YOUR asleep, oh im now cringing now i realise i was on spealer in his work van with his foreman!!!
dh i was reading pregnancy plight in discussions of the day and thats funny, wil have to look for the classics myself, i have washed all baby clothes i think i will sort out rest of nursery tomorrow!! youve inspired me

Jojobil · 09/06/2010 16:40

When I was in doubt I also went and saw my GP and that was very helpful

stac14 · 09/06/2010 17:00

Hey ladies, loads going on again. Thanks for the info on GD. I have been put on insulin, 4 times per day and baby will either be here on 2nd or 7th july due to her size. I have to go to the hospital weekly and have to inform dvla and insurance company about it so not a lot of driving for me.

memphis i agree with the others that you should be getting better treatment. I would have thought they could have induced before 40wks especially as the neurologist wants an mri scan.

gracie what a sleep hun, wish i could do that. When are they checking the heartbeat again?

Lol at baby brain jojo mine is crap too

dh i done all my washing when the weather was good, just getting the room painted so baby stuff will be set up.

My baby shower is on saturday yay x

Chulita · 09/06/2010 17:05

LOL!
pregnant or fat?

memphis just turn the phones off and sleep. I text DH if I think he'll ring, he knows that I try to nap around lunchtime, my dad still hasn't learnt though. I definitely need my nap most days, especially after a sleepless night like last night!

evening all,

baby is going mental tonight and I think some of the plug went earlier. Difficult to tell as I was in the shower and couldn't get to it fast enough to check properly. It wasn't as big as what I remember with dd but from what I did see of it it looked pretty similar. Masses of discharge since then so maybe.... Doesn't mean anything tho, I lost part of it with dd a good 10 days before she turned up!

Still nothing from anifers? Hope you're ok...

Emster30 · 09/06/2010 20:56

Hope anifers is OK.

My ball arrived yesterday but luckily DH was there to do most of the pumping up. I am currently bouncing on it with the laptop in front of me on the coffee table.

So uncomfortable at the moment - I grimace as I walk! Never mind, we're off to the Welsh borders tomorrow for our last baby-free holiday. We're staying in a nice hotel with a pool and I can't wait. Then there's two more weeks at work and then mat leave!

I have my 34 week appointment tomorrow with the GP this time, not the midwife. Not quite sure what to expect but I'll soon see.

Stay well all of you!

Had my 35 week appt with the mw today, had keytones in my wee which is not suprising as until last night Id not eaten for 30hours lol. baby is head down and ready to go which is good, dp thinks it has dropped considerably, which when I put my hand under my boobs I realised it has quite alot.

my oldest son came out in chickenpox today so a week off school for him, it of a nightmare after a week off for half term! docter rang today to say she has personally put the refferal through for camhs and apologised for the cock up of the letter being lost their end, so should hear something within the next week-10 days.

still no word for annifers? wonder if she has had her little one?

Wonderstuff · 09/06/2010 22:03

Hi all, seems the last few weeks are a testing time
glastonbury poor you with your tooth - last thing you need with so much on your plate
I had a minor meltdown earlier, I have nothing major to stress about, but was up last night with awful cramps and have generally got to the size where I am pacing about and uncomfy. I haven't had a poo for a few days and now I think I have 'the fear' just hate being constipated - am munching fruit and will get some lactolose from chemist tomorrow, that sorted me out last pregnancy - I'm just generally feeling sorry for myself.
BUT did have lovely chat with a dear friend who lives a very long way away but has just had number 2 - she reassured me that it is all fine (if totally knackering) when they arrive, was fab to catch up. Also going to sort out my swimming suit (and bikini line ) and go swimming at the weekend because I know that will make me feel more human for a while.
Anyway, sorry for self-indulgent rant, all small fry problems compared to some I know - I just can not wait until this baby arrives now.

emster enjoy your holiday - God's own country should be beautiful, hope the weather is kind

Haven't posted in a while but have been dipping in and out to keep up with your news. Trying to get everything tied up before I start maternity leave, which was supposed to be tomorrow but looks more like it'll be Monday now cos I've not finished everything that needs finished and will need to work Saturday and Sunday.
I'll be 37 weeks on Saturday - so exciting!
