Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Hello ladies - I'm still snowed under at work (36 weeks today eek) but just wanted to make a quick post. I hope you are all well -I am reading quickly your news each evening and welcome to the newbies!

Pample, I'm glad you heard from Caz - I think a new thread to post her birth story and for any related posts etc is a good idea but hope that doesn't seem like sweeping it away. I'm sure Caz will realise that is not the intention.

Ladies - you're about to give birth. There is nothing mundane or trivial about any of your concerns and feelings about what you are experiencing right now or the things you are thinking about. If anything, then for me, Caz's terrible exoerience just highlights the specialness of all these things, not the mundanity.

I for one love this weather. I hope it is not bothering too many of you.

pamplem0usse · 22/06/2010 11:00

Completely right Aussie -- I don't think it's a reason to stop talking about Caz here, but to have another special place for her, her husband and belle.

Alicetheinvisible · 22/06/2010 11:25

Pample so glad you have heard from Caz. I think a special thread especially for them is ideal. There may be others on MN who will be able to offer her support, those who have gone through this first hand. It is also something that she can refer back to at any time should she wish to.

soontobefatnat · 22/06/2010 13:48

Pample Thanks for the update from Caz

mrsZaC · 22/06/2010 14:01

just saw Caz's update of Fbook and thought I'd best check in with you girls. Got a bit of reading back to do after a very busy week. My thoughts are with Cas at this very very sad time.

Hope everyone else is keeping ok, I've got a really sore infected toe that I can't get an appointment for anyone to give me anything for yet but this pales into significance compared with what poor Caz is going through.

love you you all and your bumps xxx

marzipananimal · 22/06/2010 14:30

pample so glad you've heard from caz

mw just phoned to tell me i have group B strep (boo). Anyone else had this with previous babies? How do they give you the antibiotics during labour? Will it mean i have to be attached to something?

mrsZaC · 22/06/2010 15:26

I think I've caught up on most that I've missed this last week.

pample glad you've heard from CaZ.

Please count me in to the Caz's donations/rose idea I think it's a very good idea.

I'm happy to help out with organising if anyone would like me to? I'm happy to set up a seperate email address & paypal account so long as you ladies trust me? I'm not 100% on how paypal works but we could have a few people with access?

I think a seperate thread would be best so it is easier to keep track of responses relevant to CaZ.

Let me know what you lovely's think.

Chulita · 22/06/2010 15:42

mrsZac I got halfway there, I set up a gmail account yesterday but haven't got round to the Paypal thing yet. If you have CAT enabled or somesuch I could let you know the password if you like, just then need to link it to a Paypal account.

mrsZaC · 22/06/2010 15:55

fab chulita don't worry if you have it in hand just thought I'd offer to help, what do you mean by CAT?

LittleMissSnowShine · 22/06/2010 16:00

dibbydab - i wonder are we looking at the same chair on kiddicare? i'm very tempted but i spent HIP grant on laminate flooring for nursery, maternity clothes, paint for the walls and a sleep sheep!!

Loved Ina May's Spiritual Midwifery - made me feel really positive about being pregnant and privileged to be lucky enough to be able to carry a baby. Been listening to Ante Natal Hypnotherapy CDs, finding them very good for keeping me calm. So far anyway...

2 weeks til next MW appointment so going to be trying a lot of silly headstands and all fours positions to try and coax baby to move out of transverse... Hope everyone is well today

Chulita · 22/06/2010 16:06

CAT is just a mner to mner thing, no worries if you haven't. And I don't have it in hand by any stretch, I just got the email set up but haven't got anywhere with the Paypal cos I've never set one up and not sure if you have to link it into a bank account or something!

kcoffin27 · 22/06/2010 16:30

I had wrote a long message to post on here this morning, then when i went to post it the post message tab wasn't there! I haven't got a clue what it was I was writing about now either

Hows everyone coping with the heat? I want to put the pool up my feet/kankles are massive

Anyone heard from cherrypie she hasnt been on in a while?

kcoffin27 · 22/06/2010 16:34

how weird I was just sitting here reading posts, and my heart rate went really fast and it was hard to breath anybody else had this? It hurt a bit too not sure what it was or why.

Dibbydab · 22/06/2010 16:51

kcoffin I think cherrypie is on holiday - seem to remember it being mentioned a few days ago (but I might be imagining it).

Are you feeling better now - keep an eye on it, if you get really short of breath/pain give your MW a call. I'm not due to see MW until next week for my 35 week appt, but I'm going to a drop in MW session tomorrow - have a very localised pain in my side that has been niggling me since the weekend, just want a bit of reassurance really.

LittleMiss this is the chair and footstool I was thinking about - seems to have quite good reviews and my chiropractor says it will be good for the weeks running up to the birth as well to help my back/shoulders/everything else that's falling to pieces Baby Weavers Recline Glider & Stool

kcoffin27 · 22/06/2010 17:00

dibbydab thanks for seeing cherry is on holiday. Im still feeling abit odd, think it may be down to the heartburn as it is burning right now im seeing mw on thursday. Thats good you can go to drop in tomorrow, hope it goes ok. I also had pain down one side, the doctor said it was just stretching muscles. I have also got a headache now, which im sure is due to the heat.
im 34 weeks tomorrow and now have got the waddle walk sometimes it feels like she may be trying to come out , think this may mean she is engaged?

pamplem0usse · 22/06/2010 17:01

Cherry is away....
I've started a new thread with Caz's birth story....
xx

Dibbydab · 22/06/2010 17:33

Caz's Birth Story here

mrsZaC · 22/06/2010 17:34

chulita I've enabled CAT so fire away, happy to help if you want me to set it up. pample where is the thread? x

Chulita · 22/06/2010 19:19

mrsZaC I've sent you the email details.

Thanks for setting up the thread pample - do you want to be included in the email/paypal thing? Makes sense if you know about the rose

kcoffin I hope your LO is engaged and stays there! I've got the leaning back with belly waving from side to side walk...highly attractive. I also really don't want to be touched so DH is going to need a lot of cuddles once this LO gets here!

pamplem0usse · 22/06/2010 19:40

dibbydab thanks for linking the thread.... I'm rubbish at that sort of thing.
Would be good to be included.... let me know what I need to do. I'm in the process of chasing the rose people so hopefully should have more info v soon!
Back on holiday tomorrow (we came back for an NCT class which I'm now too tired to go to so DH has gone alone!)... but have iPhone contact...

Chulita · 22/06/2010 19:45

pample if you have CAT I can let you know the email address/password, still haven't done Paypal but the website isn't working properly at the mo, I'm trying to find out about linking bank details cos for obvious reasons I don't want to link mine and DH's to it

Chulita · 22/06/2010 19:56

Ok, paypal's set up now so we're ready to go.

pamplem0usse · 22/06/2010 20:27

CAT? My goodness I'm dumb!!

xxx

cazzybabs · 22/06/2010 20:35

so I knew there was a reason I was avoiding the midwife...blood pressure up to something over 96 ... its never been this high so early on. She is coming to see me on Friday and I better hope it is lower! But baby is now head down!!!!

My Amby hammock arrived today as well.

But I am just sat here crying reading Caz's birth story!

Alicetheinvisible · 22/06/2010 21:02

I have just stupidly eaten some kettle chips and salsa dip. Heartburn is going to kill me this evening!
