New thread

We really are getting through a thread a month lol!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
sparkle101 · 16/06/2010 11:28

Okay - so the dolmio characters on this morning are really starting to annoy me. I don't even like dolmio!

The thread has gone very quiet all of a sudden, I suppose the ladies at the beginning of the month are getting bits ready and leaving work etc. Still have 7 weeks to go although am on holiday next week!

marzi regarding the chocolate orange question - it's absolutely fine... it has orange in it so must be healthy.

LCRLCR · 16/06/2010 12:08

Morning all!

31 week check up today and baby has gone from breech to transverse.....moving slowly round or just plain awkaward?

pamplem0usse · 16/06/2010 12:09

sparkle there's holidays too.....
hehehe at the orange!
I'm off the the apple 'genius bar' which is conveniently(?!) situated over the road from Mamas and Papas. Can I survive without buying anything.
And eek my to do list for today has 15 items on it and so far I've done... three! After all my exertions yesterday I felt awful and had to leave my Antenatal class 30 minutes early due to dizziness. Boo. So supposed to be taking it easier today. Will post nursery piccies when done! xxx

hi ladies
i hope you don't mind if i come back in..i was on the original thread at the start but then life took over and i dropped off..sorry!! anyway, work is winding down now and with maternity leave due to start in just 2 weeks i would love to join back in and have a natter with you all..? ;) it sounds like everyone's blooming and enjoying the last trimester..
time has flown by this pregnancy..can't believe just 7 weeks to go (and prob less if I get the the ELC i want!)
it's been a hard pregnancy this time - i think after the first time perhaps pregnancies are just more 'functional' or at least not ever as magical as the first...and i just want the baby here now. i have also got blimin SPD which is so painful!! anyway, i wont go on for too long in case i'm not welcome back !!

mrsZaC · 16/06/2010 12:50

owh apricots course your welcome back! Sorry to hear about your SPD, but good news on finishing up in 2 weeks! I can't wait, 5 weeks left for me.

mrsZaC · 16/06/2010 12:50

pample I think that retail therapy is justified if you were feeling rubbish yesterday ;0)

bouncingblueberries · 16/06/2010 13:53

Hi girls

Working from home today so desperately trying to resist the lure of mumsnet!

I don't think I washed any teddies before ds was born - but I practically boil wash them now! Some of his favourites look a sorry state!

Welcome back apricots pample it would be rude not to pop into M&P - especially as I'm pretty sure their sale starts today.

weehector glad you had a lovely weekend but boo hiss for Bicester village and a lack of bags!

Caz great news about the appointment for your dh - fingers crossed.

As for whole chocolate oranges - completely reasonable!

Off for my 34 week check with the midwife later. Need to quiz her on my options if consultant decides I'm having a big baby (despite measuring ok for dates ). Will see what I'm measuring today and take it from there I think. I'm definitely much, much neater than when I had ds, and he wasn't a huge baby, so fingers crossed.

Groan - really don't want to get back to work...could do with a snooze tbh!

driedapricots · 16/06/2010 16:37

hey
i saw some posts a few days ago about buying dc1 a little gift from the new baby..i've heard that's a must but yes, what should it be?! i'm also quite adamant i want my dd1 to come with my dh alone to meet the new baby once it's born as i think it could be quite emotional and don't really fancy the entire extended family witnessing that (which will happen if we don't state otherwise!!).
is anyone else on here having an ELC - if so do you have your date yet? i'm due to see consultant on 29th june and am wondering if they'll give me a set date then..i want to know how much maternity leave i have to endure enjoy before life changes forever more! i'm starting to get so nervous about caring for a newborn again..i can't remember what we did last time, all i remember is the sleep deprivation (praying for a good baby this time!!)

pamplem0usse · 16/06/2010 19:45

ARGHHH
Seriously annoyed with DH for the second time in a week.

So I go out and buy his Dad's Father's Day card and remind him that we need to write it before his Dad arrives.... He comes in to do it and I find that he's written it entirely from himself and sealed it.

Now we ALWAYS write cards together, and it was particularly insensitive as I don't have anyone to send a FD card to.

Silly boy; he's got loads on but really don't feel like he's thinking of me v much atm

cakeywakey · 16/06/2010 19:56

DriedApricots my DH and I have also been discussing DD being the first in to see the new baby too. I want her to get the chance to meet her new sister first and for us to have a bit of time as a family before all of the Mums and Dads pile in. Don't think it's necessarily going to be understood, but I don't care! DD comes first.

Alicetheinvisible · 16/06/2010 20:33

Pample perhaps he is a bit distracted atm. Not an excuse, just that it may be getting to him too iyswim?

Apricots i saw my consultant in march and although i am going for a VBAC this time, i have my cs booked for 10days over, and my pre-op booked for 7days over.

I am so sore and uncomfortable now. Did too much yesterday and started having contractions on the way home every 11-12mins, but luckily they eased off once i got to bed. Have still been sore and tight today though.

Bubbabear · 16/06/2010 20:41

Welcome Apricots. Hope everyone has had a sunny day & is feeling okay, if a bit exhausted.

Just had a lovely surprise. My ex-lodger who moved out abt 2 weeks ago popped round out of the blue. She handed me a goodie bag of presents & some flowers as a part b/day, part thank you & part baby present! Was very sweet & unexpected. Only thing is ive just sat & eaten about 6 of the chocs in one go. Although going by the chocolate orange theory the strawberry chocs obviously dont count & im sure there must some rule about the coffee ones too... Then that only makes two

A friend of mine at work always says that when two biscuits are stuck together in the pack they only count as one really

Nursery is almost empty of surplus furniture now so decorating is imminent! So exciting!

CazEM · 16/06/2010 20:48

Lovely ladies

I can only write this in a matter of fact way as at the moment I'm completely in shock and numb.

We went to the hospital this morning - baby had gone quiet again. After monitoring and a scan we were told our precious little Belle had died.

I've been started on medication to bring on labour but have been told it may take quite a few days and doses before anything begins to happen. We are at my parents house for a few days now as they live closer to the hospital for when we've gotta go back and we just couldn't face all Belle's things at home tonight. When things do start happening they will put me on a morphine drip so I won't have to feel any pain and will then be quite out of it.

I wish you all the very best with the rest of pregnancies and enjoy your lovely little babies as they arrive.

Alicetheinvisible · 16/06/2010 20:54
