PatsyIsPreggers · 20/05/2010 15:50

Turkish delight??? Convinced now you are all tormenting me with your tasy treats!

Satsuma anyone?

PatsyIsPreggers · 20/05/2010 15:51

tasty treats

AbFabT · 20/05/2010 15:52

Hurry up and retrain then, Dilly - we'll go get them! I do feel part of me wants to fight the unfairness (especially as he's done it to others (not all pregnant women), and they've just left, rather than fight, and maybe I'll pave the way for others, though I think he's going to be a bit more careful from now on with everyone else), but mostly I just feel like I don't want to have to go through the added stress of fighting it, especially if financially I am at least looked after. I also know the kind of person he is, and what I am up against, and it would be a hard battle (even though I KNOW I am right). Somehow, he gets away with it. I've got a baby on the way, and that's my focus now. That stupid job doesn't really matter, compared to this baby.

Right, enough about me!

Mm, cake! I am over the Turkish Delight, but swigging chocolate soya milk by the gallon. Yum!

dontstopmenow · 20/05/2010 15:52

ooo - carrot cake. Mmmmm. Now that would surely come under the heading of healthy(ish)! Am off to get some!

Ivytheterrible · 20/05/2010 15:56

I've just eaten a whole bag of marshmallows and they didn't even touch the sides... oooopps I feel a bit sick now.

DillyDora · 20/05/2010 16:06

I just ate all the cake...about a third of one of those m&s ones...coffee and walnut...o dear...

AbFabT · 20/05/2010 16:08

Yes, carrot cake must be healthy. If you have five slices, that is easily your five a day.

I still feel sick from the Turkish Delight. Bleh. And it's given me a headache.

PatsyIsPreggers · 20/05/2010 16:09

Right, that's it. I'm leaving work to buy cake this very instant. Don't try and stop me, it could get messy!

shieldbug · 20/05/2010 16:18

Noooooo!! Please stop talking about cake. I've just taken a wee break from my experiment to eat a banana and a very unsatisfactory choc mini roll (too mini and not enough choc)and would love cake...mmmmm, but there's no chance. I hardly ever seem to feel full any more, I just stop eating when I feel guilty or run out of food (like now).Glad to know others are as ravenous, makes me feel less guilty now.

ILoveGregoryHouse · 20/05/2010 17:03

GIRL!!! Allegedly.
And my lovely friends surprised me after school pick up with a high tea - sausage rolls, cakes, trifle. Bless 'em. Think they're more excited than I am.

AbFabT · 20/05/2010 17:05

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's awesome, ILGH! Woo hoo! So happy for you.

Only allegedly though? Were they not 100% sure?

ILoveGregoryHouse · 20/05/2010 17:24

"Only" 95% - as sure as she can be until you can look for yourself when they're born. She had another doc come in and look too and that doc was "It's XX". Saw no willy - and they were very obvious with the boysies.

AbFabT · 20/05/2010 17:31

Sounds like 99.9% to me! Oh, it's great. Not that I'd be unhappy to have four boys, of course - I'll be grateful whatever I get.

My scan tomorrow, but we're not finding out.

Hermya321 · 20/05/2010 18:03

ILGH Fantastic news!!!!

Abfab See how it goes and IF it still goes bad just go down the formal route. At least you'll have been seen to try and sort this out without taking it over their heads. Keep talking to your union rep, I can not tell you how good unions are in situations like this. I've seen unions get involved in stuff like this and they're all so invaluable for support as well as having someone on your side.

I'm eating ice lollys!!! Just thought I'd share that one.

Also was sat at work today and I actually felt the BIGGEST kick I've ever felt from LO and I felt it on the outside of my tummy as well. It was very exciting!! Unfortunatly was being talked at, so couldn't really stop and go 'baby just kicked me!!! How cool is that!!'.

Someone told me today that the flutters/tickles/bubbles at this stage aren't the baby moving, just my uterus contracting.

I'm 20 weeks.

Anyone know if this is true? Was kind of miserable to hear. The midwife said they're the baby moving...

Xavielli · 20/05/2010 18:34

They are the baby, Bongo

Congrats ILGH
Seem to be quite a few girls now! Everyone I know IRL is having boys (secretly hoping for a boy this time myself)

BongoWinslow · 20/05/2010 18:44

I'm having a boy! No doubt after scan this morning

Nymphadora · 20/05/2010 18:50

Def baby Bongo

Been to GP got another 2 weeks off, getting sent for ECG & tests on my lungs. If they are all working ok they will change my meds. GP seems pretty sure its my meds basically poisoning me but the alternative is beta blockers which don't go with asthma. No ECG machine next week so have appt for week after with GP appt next day. He kept saying I look ill and I should be starting to bloom now and he isnt happy about all this.

GP did heart beat and baby went mad for about 15mins after, seemed absolutely fuming shunting from one side to the other! GP said lots of babies don't like the doppler as it sends sound waves across the womb. Had dd1 with me and she was v excited (and gloated over dd2 when we got in!)

Hermya321 · 20/05/2010 18:53

Bongo Definately the baby moving!!

OP posts:
shieldbug · 20/05/2010 18:54

congrats bongo. Great news. I reckon the tickling/fizzing is sproglet too (I'm 18 +5). Like you, I'd be upset to hear it's not. Surely it has to be- how can the uterus feel tickly?

shieldbug · 20/05/2010 18:56

nymph that sounds pretty scary stuff. Hope they can get it all sorted soon and you will be able to bloom. At least it sounds like your baby is doing fine.

ILGH are your boys excited about a wee sister or don't they know yet? So glad to hear all went well.

BongoWinslow · 20/05/2010 18:59

ILGH - envious you're having a girl! I was so set on one, but I'm happy about a boy now.

It IS obvious they're boys, isn't it!
