Here we go, pull up a deck chair, catch some rays and help yourselves to a mini eggs ice cream.

Thankyou for all the good luck posts.xxxxx My scan was lovely, everything seemed fine, I have one very wriggly little baby in there. BUT the cord was in the way so we don't know the sex!!!! Argh! I do have a rescan in 2 weeks to recheck the heart as she needed an extra view (saw 4 chambers and all looked well), so we might find out then (if I don't cave in and get a gender scan b4 lol). I feel reassured seeing a happy busy little baby. Oh and my baby has the cutest little baby feet..

Katy!!!! That's a boy lol!

Welcome MMooMar. I hope the amnio goes well next week.xxx

Evening all.

I'm pretty new to mumsnet, and just found this thread.

I'm 18/40 tomorrow, due Oct 7th. 1st pregnancy to get this far....

Next scan at 22/40 (ish) on May 28th.

First felt Eggbert/Eggberta moving on Monday, which was very exciting. Of course having felt it, I then got completely distracted in the middle of a job interview yesterday, when someone gave a massive wriggle! I think I went bright scarlet and totally lost the train of thought. Must have looked a right fool.

I'll add myself to the sats page after dinner. Mmmmmm.

Hermya321 · 05/05/2010 22:18

Antidote Congratulations on your pregnancy, fantastic news. Welcome to the thread!!! Are you going to find out the sex?

AbFabT · 05/05/2010 22:22

Big warm welcome to you, MMooMar and Antidote.

tiredfeet, if I wear a coat, I think I just look marginally chunkier than usual. In jeans and a top I look like I've eaten too much pizza. I have taken to wearing a badge from London Underground that says 'Baby On Board', so people know for sure!

I believe you, Tyson. Both DH and I have no preference whatsoever. We just hope our baby is healthy.

Great news re scans and checkups, Ladies.

I looked around the shops today, saw the Stokke in real life and it felt gooooood! I am so leaning towards it! And I saw four mummies with their babies walking around with them, and I was staring like a crazy lady smiling at one she kinda stopped so I just said I admired her pram and how did she find it and she said it was fab, so I am thinking even more it is the one for me!
Had a look at some baby outfits too, some really cute stuff, but I resisted buying anything.

Antidote · 05/05/2010 22:35

Hi Hermya & AbFaT

We're not planning to 'officially' find out the sex, but obviously it might wave its bits at us at the next scan.
My latest reply to people who ask if I want a boy or a girl is 'Yes, one or the other would be lovely'
My major worry with finding out the sex is my MIL might go bonkers with the pink girly things (my least favorite colour).

time for bed methinks

Nymphadora · 06/05/2010 09:08

Am just waiting to phone in sick then am off back to bed. fell asleep at 4:30 yesterday and apart from 1/2 hour toilet/drink stop slept til7:30 this am. Really struggled getting back from school run and no way am I safe to drive.

I am so tired of being tired

Antidote · 06/05/2010 09:22

Poor you. Hope you get some sleep today.

Hermya321 · 06/05/2010 09:36

Nymph Poor you, look after yourself.

I went for my triple test today and I got to hear my LO's heartbeat. They warned me that they might not be able to find it, but as soon as they pressed the thing to my tummy there it was beating away nice and strongly. It was so so cool!!!

Morning Beautifuls,

Hello, congratulations and welcome to newbies! Hope you feel better soon Nymph you're not a well girl just lately, can you get signed off for a proper chunk of time so you can recover a bit?

I'm also way tired this week, probably a result of those menty busy weeks at work and busy weekends. 16 weeks today! Appt on Monday so hope I get to hear LO's heartbeat.

Lovely to hear about scans and the pics were most instructive - thanks!

Have a brilliant day everyone.
xx

AbFabT · 06/05/2010 10:25

Antidote, yes - am hoping we don't inadvertently see something at the scan we don't want to see. I really want the surprise at the end.
I like pink, but I don't want to be all pink pink pink for a girl or blue blue blue for a boy. I prefer more neutral tones. Am sure we'll get gifted a few pink or blue things, of course, I just don't want to actively go down that route.

Nymph, perhaps you should take a couple of days off, have a really good rest. Take it easy.

RooBear · 06/05/2010 11:02

Good Morning ladies, Welcome antidote like yourself and AbFab we aren't finding out either. Anyone watch midsummer last night? quite a spooky one

LeviJess · 06/05/2010 11:10

Hi Everyone,

I don't know why I hadn't found this thread sooner! Lovely to electronically meet everyone. This is my second pregnancy - DS also an October baby! (As is daddy, grandma, and his uncle - i'm surrounded by Scorpios...)

Congrats to everyone also due in Oct! so glad I've found you all...

I'm 17 weeks this week and not feeling pregnant at all (my son hasn't slept through the night ever so exhaustion is the norm - I feel your pain Nymph, but hope you feel better soon), that is until I catch myself in the nearest shop window - I'm massive!! I'm sure I didn't look this pregnant until about 28 weeks last time. Eek! I don't even need one of those 'baby on board' signs...

Anyway, hello!
xxx

shieldbug · 06/05/2010 11:23

welcome LeviJess and other newbies. Good to have you on board.
Congrats meanbeansmum so pleased everything is going well, although the position of the cord sounds very frustrating.

Hooray for all who have heard a heartbeat. It seems such a simple thing, but it's sooo amazing too.

Antidote I so don't want to dress a little girl in pink cutesie things. What's wrong with other colours? I knitted my sil a pale blue jacket (with dark blue flecks) for her girl (now nearly 2 months old) and she looks gorgeous in it.

Had a consultant's appt yesterday with a scan and there's good news and not so good news. The best bit is that sproglet is fine and growing normally. The problem is that my fibroids are still growing. The biggest is now over 10cm diameter and the others are 8 and 5 cms. I look (officially) as though I am 24 weeks (I'm 16) and my bump is seriously lumpy. I'm worried in case the fibroids don't leave sproglet enough space to develop properly.

Sorry for long post, seriously waffly mood!

Maclaren · 06/05/2010 12:18

Hi All I have not been on for a long while just felt very nerves that something would go wrong this time - for no real reason just me being an idiot!

Anyway I had my 12 weeks scan and all was ok I now have a PV scan booked for next Saturday a reassurance and gender scan!

I decided it was safe to come and post as I have now been feeling baby move for aver a week which puts my mind at rest

My due date has changed slightly after my 12 week scan I am now due on the 26th Oct do we have a list or is there a link to another thead?

Nymphadora · 06/05/2010 12:40

Thanks people am awakeagain now just in time for lunch. Have only worked one day this week and left at 3 so not exactly over working atm. Am not in til Mon but away tomorrow night for the weekend dh can drive though so at least am not worrying about being asleep at the wheel. Am on v restricted hours for next 2 weeks as I have no childcare so am only working a couple of meetings. Three 1/2 days I think altogether.

MMooMar · 06/05/2010 12:42

Hi ladies,
Thanks for the warm welcome guys.
Hope everyone is feeling ok today.
Just had the midwife in and had my first listen to bears( looks like a bear on 12wk scan lol) heartbeat...fab stuff!
Was in a panic when she turned up as ,I presume dc2,had hidden my notes.Spent bloody ten minutes looking for them when she arrived, felt so ....little devil! Found them in the porch hid behind his buggy, wouldnt mind but I had only put them in the sitting room about half an hour before she came, they are normally kept out of reach ....GRRRR!!.

FLOOZIETOOZIE
No didnt have high risk result on nuchal as I didnt have it done,it`s purely a personal thing.Really with having the two lads I decided I needed to know as they would be effected greatly if things didnt turn out you would expect them to.Putting a third child into the mix will obviously cut down on their quality time that they spend with dp and myself now so a child with special needs would impact even more so.It was just something we felt that was right for us to do although the mc rate hovers constantly in my mind but I do try to push it to the furthest corner and get on with stuff.
Did consider a CVS but with the mc rate slightly higher and the rate of inconclusive results also being slightly higher opted for the amnio.Oh by the way its on the old NHS too.
Will get this out of the way worry myself sick till full results come through, then if all is well worry myself stupid about the 20wk scan as there is a family history of SB.

Sorry for the long post but wanted to answer floozietoozie.

shieldbug · 06/05/2010 12:47

maclaren welcome back! There is a link to the stats list on the post at the top of each page so you can change your date there.
Glad to hear everything is ok and good luck for Saturday's scan. Are you going to tell people the sex?

DillyDora · 06/05/2010 12:52

Hey MMooMar sounds like a series of tough decisions about the tests so hope all goes well again this time.

Glad you feel a bit better Nymph

Sorry about the fibroids shieldbug can you have extra appointments to keep an eye on things? Did the doc say the fibroids were a risk?

Cor, worrying business innit, being pg? I've still got my itchy rash (4 weeks and counting...great...can last up to 3 months) but 16 wk appt on Monday with consultants (cos of my asthma) so will ask if they have any genius ideas. Just want to hear that heartbeat really....

xx

shieldbug · 06/05/2010 13:30

dilly the fibroids may give an increased risk of mc, also of premature birth (may well need cs) and lots of bleeding afterwards. BUT, so far, all they've done is grow and give me pain, and the consultant (who sees me every 4 weeks at present) seems happy enough. As with anything, they give you worst case scenarios and chances are everything will actually be ok. Hope your rash gets sorted soon. I remember when we were little Mum always put camomile lotion on rashes to soothe them, but don't know if that would be helpful or not (or indeed ok in pg). Good luck for Monday. Hope you get a nice clear heartbeat.

DillyDora · 06/05/2010 13:47

Hi shieldbug thanks - I'm covered in calamine, nearly used a whole bottle now as it's about the only thing that is safe in pg! I'm quite a sight!

Right, so these fibroids are being a right bugger then, glad you have the consultant to see you so frequently and keep an eye. You're right about them giving you the worst case scenario! Keep your chin up. Don't worry about how big you are either - we know the truth!!! My friend has scoliosis so had very wonky bumps both times, it happens!

Hermya321 · 06/05/2010 14:48

Nymph If you need any help, gimme a shout. I do pass by your way on my way to work most weeks. I hope you're feeling better though. I can sympathise as I took DH to work this morning, came back and fell asleep on the sofa for over two hours.

Dilly You poor thing!! I've got a rotton cough and sore throat at the moment and was told by the chemist that hot drinks are the safest option. What is it about being pregnant that makes EVERYTHING so unsafe?? I hope you feel better soon.

Shieldbug Gosh I hope they stop growing soon. Glad everything else seems tickity boo though.

Nymphadora · 06/05/2010 16:10

I walked into town before (500yards downhill) and spent more time sitting than walking. My mam ended up picking me up in the car. Really spinning and weak.
Spoke to mw at hosp and she thought it sounded ott for pg tiredness & told me to get gp appt. Going later & hoping dh home by then. Bit concerned the meds don't help. Also not had much movement in last couple of days although that could just be me missing it.

DillyDora · 06/05/2010 16:37

Cheers Hermya I've sort of got used to how it looks but the itch is a nightmare!

Eeh, Nymph get thee to a dr, Girlie!
xx

Tyson86 · 06/05/2010 16:43

Hi all,
Nymph hope the gp's go well and they sort you out.

Feeling tired and sicky again today but only eaten 2 sausage rolls so proberly my fault. So scared about gender scan tomorrow, keep having nightmares that something will be wrong and ill have 13 yr old brother and my ds will be in room as got noone to look after ds and my brother really wants to see baby.
