Here we go, pull up a deck chair, catch some rays and help yourselves to a mini eggs ice cream.

Backagain- well done on exam- enjoy the weekend

Xav- we have been calling the bump Jeff- no idea why- just hope it doesn't stick when it is born esp if it is a girl!

Just had a call to say my SIL waters have just broken so hopefully will have a niece or nephew by the end of the weekend.

Hope you all enjoying the sun x

floozietoozie · 24/04/2010 19:08

Xavielli- DS was Eeeny Weeny as a bump and this one is Incy Wincy. Dp named it both times.

HermyaBC321 · 24/04/2010 22:52

Ooooo Sam thats so exciting!! Let us know what happens.

BionicEar · 25/04/2010 09:10

Hi!

Sam12 - any news on the new niece/nephew?

Anyone else starting to feel that their clothes getting a bit tight and needing to undo top button? Am trying to fig out what to do clothes wise as think it's too early for mat clothes, but can't really go around with buttons undone! Not sure that would look very professional at work!

Have a massive purple angry looking bruise from where MW took blood from me. Think will have to wear long sleeve tops until it calms down as otherwise going to be getting some funny looks!

Right well best go and get sorted for the day - having an indoor picnic at our church seeing as it's raining now! Shame as would have been good to have had one in the park.

floozietoozie · 25/04/2010 09:43

It's gone quiet on here. All having too much fun this weekend?

I'm debating taking ds swimming. It would be much less of a debate if dp could/would come but he doesn't swim.

VMumToBe · 25/04/2010 10:55

It's rainin here. After a lovely day in the garden yesterday. No planting possible today although roses have loved a soaking

Re maternity clothes. jojomamanbebe have great dresses for around £40, but sizing is big I have found. Also M&S online has a good selection, have just bought some jeans from them which are brilliant.

I don't have a bump yet but there must be some change as can no longer fit into normal trousers!

20 week scan 24 May, and then appt with Anaethesicist (sp?!) 1 June to see if broken backs and epidurals could ever mix...

Would thoroughly recommend acquanatal btw - anyone vaugely near Reading should get there! x

AbFabT · 25/04/2010 11:40

Well done, BackAgain. Enjoy your family.

sam12, any latest on the nephew or niece? How nice that yours will be close in age to their cousin.

Raining here too, but if saves me watering the plants so I'm happy enough!

Nymphadora · 25/04/2010 12:11

I def have a bump have been in mat clothes for 2 weeks (not completely though) and is obvious am pg. Seeing the rest of my team at work tomorrow & haven't seen them for 2 weeks & wasn't telling anyone then. See how long it takes for comments!

We are having a lazy day since it's raining. Off to pictures this pm to watch how to train your dragon!

lilmissmummy · 25/04/2010 12:45

It is raining here too was looking forward to a BBQ this afternoon. think we are going to go swimming instead. In fact I think it might have been my fault that it is raining today as bought dc a paddling pool! oops! sorry about that!

We have mamed bump mini, ds was jelly bean, dd was boris and mmc was bluebery! dont know where they come from!

I have a definate bump too! People have started to pat it! Luckily only people I know so far - hate it when strangers do it

Bought some mat trousers yesterday, tried on 16 but it was too big round waist hip and leg so bought the 14 and it is tight round the hip and too big in the waist still just want some comfy clothes to wear. (Still very weepy!! but not being sick anymore which is a bonus!)

Right off to go swimming with the family!

floozietoozie · 25/04/2010 15:34

Finally checked my scan date. I am last on the list, but as I'm nearly last on the due date I suppose it's not surprising.

Went swimming. Was great fun as there's a separate big leisure pool with lots of fun bits. Ds was knackered afterwards and fell asleep in the pram before I'd had a chance to dry his hair, so I had to keep waking him up with the hairdryer, bless. As a result, I ended up staying for yonks while he slept and I ate in the cafe. Now I'm the knackered one! We were probably only in the pool for 30-40 minutes too, but that's long enough really as I have to hold DS all the time so it's quite tiring. I must look into getting him armbands, but I just have a feeling he would object to them.

tiredfeet · 25/04/2010 15:38

hello all, sorry to hear so many of you have had rainy Sundays we have narrowly avoided the rain here, very lucky by the sound of things! I've got to cook a roast dinner in a bit, its the first time I've ever attempted one I'm a bit scared!

I'm definitely slowly moving into maternity clothes now, its quite weird, starts to make it feel more real! I'm doing ok for finding some nice casual clothes, but got a black tie party at end of May and a very smart dinner out in London in early June and no idea what to get for them, also its hard because I have no idea how much bigger I will be by then so its a bit hard to shop for stuff yet. Plus I don't want to spend much as they won't be worn for long...

Hope everyone has had good weekends and they haven't been ruined too much by the rain.

Got my 16 week appointment with the midwife tomorrow, not really sure what happens at this one... pleeese tell me they won't be taking any blood...

Hermya321 · 25/04/2010 16:34

Yeah it's a bit grey here as well, so not really done much today as we're having a lazy day today.

Really tired today, I feel a nap coming on.

Nymphadora · 25/04/2010 18:04

floozie have you tried one of those floatation jacket things? My dds swimming teacher didn't recommend armbands but suggested these instead. You then take out floats as they get more able.

ellabella2 · 25/04/2010 19:46

Wow, a lot of reading to do after being off line for the week on holiday in Cornwall. Beautiful sunshine all week and then rain to send us home today

I'm 16 weeks today, so feeling well chuffed to be able to now say 'I'm four months pregnant'

Very of all the lovely maternity clothes shopping going on. Am off to browse some nice websites after this. My bump is slowly growing but only look pregnant in fitted stuff, otherwise just look a bit podgy!

We call baby 'buba beanie' now that it has grown so much. Was initially teenie weenie beanie. Very twee I know

Also of all those feeling their bubies moving. At my scan I was told I have an anterior placenta, which means that I'm not likely to feel any movement until at least 20 weeks as it is acting like a cushion. Good to know though as would no doubt have been starting to worry about it otherwise!!

Well, hello everyone and good to hear all your news. xx

Hermya321 · 25/04/2010 20:01

Now that I'm actively looking for Maternity type clothes, I'm reminded of how much I dislike clothes shopping at the best of times.

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 25/04/2010 20:38

Hi everyone, hope you've had good weekends we've been lucky to have rain last night but dry today thank goodness.

Bump is known as bump or little one, not very exciting I know! Looking forward to next scan so it can turn into he/she etc.

Back to work tomorrow, going to be strange as first day office open since my new boss died. Will be emotional for the staff

I need to go shopping for maternity trousers! My tops/tunics etc are ok but my trousers arenot at all!!

DillyDora · 25/04/2010 20:39

Hi All,

I'm with you Hermya really loathe clothes shopping, but DH Is brill at it so I'll get him to come with me. I still think I just look like I have a podgy tum rather than a bump.

Itchy rash is fading much sooner than expected so that's a result, but yesterday I threw up for the first time and so violently that I burst a load of blood vessels in my neck and the side of my face and round my eyes so I look pretty daft - fading rash and flecky red spots all over the show. Ah the joys of pregnancy!!

Hope you all have a mellow evening.

sam12 · 25/04/2010 22:49

Nephew was born at 4.35am today- she only went into labour at 3am so very quick! so have had a lovely day shopping for baby clothes then up to the hospital for a cuddle- he is 6lb 4 and absolutely tiny- so cute It is great that mine will be so close in age to its cousin.

Maternity clothes are still too big for me and my normal clothes too small- found a brill pair of drawstring trousers in River Island which are perfect for this in-between stage. Went and bought another pair in a different colour today cos they are so comfy.

Tiredfeet they don't take blood at 16 week appointment- after my massive melt down last time they took it they assured me I wouldn't have to have it done again till 24 weeks. Have to get over this needle phobia

floozietoozie · 25/04/2010 23:14

nymph that's a great idea. I actually saw one of those on the swimming pool today but didn't even think of it for ds. Doh! Yes, I haven't got bands b4 cos I used to take him to baby swimming way back and the hv who ran the sessions advised against it. He was rather smaller then. .

Another 5.30 alarm awaits. OH JOY.

Sam12 congrats on your nephew. Awwww. And - eek, that'll be us soon!

Dilly glad your rash has gone.

AbFabT · 26/04/2010 00:28

Congratulations on your nephew, sam12. tiredfeet, I too have my 16-week appointment tomorrow (well, today, as I am writing gone midnight!). I'm 17 weeks now!

ILoveGregoryHouse · 26/04/2010 06:43

Off for a big shop at hypermarket today. Have just started making my own bread so will be stocking up on a ton of flour.

jennimoo · 26/04/2010 07:36

ILoveGH hopefully we'll both be finding out what we're having on the same day

I have a headache today, so think i'm going to stay off work today. Headaches been there since Saturday, but got really bad last night and was there all night. Paracetamol this mornings taken the edge off. Not sure if I am supposed to call midwife, i haven't suffered at all since becoming pg. Anyone know?

Not that I actually have a mw at the mo! I do have a phone number though...

Xavielli · 26/04/2010 07:51

I'm not at the bottom of the scan list!

I'm having my bloods done at 16 weeks. I refused them at booking as I need a bit of time to psych myself up for it. Very strange, no needle phobia at all (have 11 piercings in various places) but the idea of having my blood taken has always freaked me out! In my previous pregnancies, first bloods were done at 16 weeks anyway so guess it probably wont make much difference.

BackAgain · 26/04/2010 07:56

Hermya thanks for the tips about petite maternity clothes - found some good work trousers on yummy mummy.

I definitely have a bump which even strangers notice but I was wearing a wrap dress yesterday when we were out so did make it obvious. I can't believe how big I have gotten so soon - am only 14 weeks, midwife says it because it's number 2.

Sam12 congratulations on your little nephew

tiredfeet · 26/04/2010 08:06

thats good to know sam12 and congratulations on the baby nephew . I don't have needle phobia but do have a phobia of having blood taken! Like you Xavielli I guesss, I am fine with injections etc but pretty much pass out if giving blood is even mentioned. I have been known to have hysterics when they try and take my blood, even though plenty of worse things ( dentist, local anaesthetic ops, endoscopy) I have managed without fuss

Hermya I hate shopping too normally, and particularly if I need something specific or I'm on the chubby side (so double whammy at the minute!). DH has talked me into ordering a few bits online, so will see what they are like when they get here!

seashells I hope today goes ok, it will be tough for everyone I guess

dillydora I hope you feel better soon!

I have been awake since 6.30 for no reason at all, and I slept quite badly anyway. Think its a pregnancy thing, I've been like this about a week now, is anyone else struggling with sleep?
