Here we go, pull up a deck chair, catch some rays and help yourselves to a mini eggs ice cream.

Tiredfeet I'm the same, I've been awake since early this morning. I know if I tell people, they'll tell me it's practise. Thing is, I'm afraid if they do I'll hit them out of sheer frustration.

Hi All,

Can I join with you guys??? Was on the other October thread but no one seems to be on that any more!

I am currently 16 weeks and 2 days and have a very round and obvious baby bump, albeit a small one!

Has anyone else lost their appetite completly???

tiredfeet.... I am totally with you, sleep seems to be damn near next to impossible despite the fact that I am constantly shattered!

Hope everyone is well and having a lovely Monday morning, after a week off it's really hard to remotivate myself at the moment!

x

AbFabT · 26/04/2010 11:26

Of course you can, babybunting! Welcome!

FINALLY got around to calling my dentist to see if could claim back the charges as I found out I was pregnant just after my last dental check-up, but they have to know in advance, grrr, not very happy about that! £55 down the drain. Well, not down the drain - I have nice teeth, but you know, bad timing, could have saved £55. Darn!

Off to the midwife in two hours. It is about a three minute walk from my house - result!!!

SoozleQ · 26/04/2010 11:54

Hi All

Room for a little one? I'm 15 weeks pregnant with my first baby - due on 16th October. Currently swinging between excited and terrified - I'm hoping this is normal!

I've been calling the little one "Splodge" because it really did just look like a splodge on my first scan at 10 weeks. Obviously looked far more like an actual baby at the 13 week scan but Splodge seems to have stuck now!

I have my 20 week scan on 2 June and can't wait to see Splodge again. Also can't wait to feel it move, although I'm guessing I might have to wait a few more weeks for that.

Hope you are all having a good Monday morning.
X

Hi babybunting lovely to see you!

AbFabT thats rubbish about the dentist!! I went to the dentist and showed them my exemption certificate and had a check up without having to pay. They recommended that I saw the nurse for a scale and polish (so as it is free I made my appointment) when I went to the appointment they advised me that the nurse was employed privately and would cost me £27 I didnt even need it done I just thought it would be nice to have extra shiney teeth... and it hurt

Have fun at the midwife!! Let us know how you get on! Have you heard the heartbeat yet? I cant wait for that!!!

tiredfeet I dont think phobias get better with practice! I have moved into a cottage and we have got hundreds of spiders and I still scream and shake when I see the big ones and its usually every other day!

congratulations Auntie sam

Hope today goes okay seashells

Love hearing about all your shopping!

Hi soozle lovely for you to join us! Yes the exciting/terrified is totally normal! I am on no. 3 and I still feel like that!

shieldbug · 26/04/2010 13:06

welcome SoozleQ. Like you, I am expecting my first on the 16th October and am alternating between excitement and fear, mostly because there's so many unknowns.

The baby is currently called sproglet and lives inside the most gignormous bump now. When I went for my 12 week appt, the consultant said I was the size of most women at 20 weeks! It's had 3 months growing since then, and funnily enough people are rather surprised when i confess I'm only 15 weeks. I've been in mat clothes for weeks. On Sunday, I was inundated with people offering congrats (which was lovely) since our curate thought it was a good idea to get me to do the reading (so everybody could see my bump on display) then gave me a reading about settling down and having kids. Honestly! (Jeremiah 29 if you don't believe me!)

shieldbug · 26/04/2010 13:06

ps sam congrats on becoming an auntie. How lovely.

SoozleQ · 26/04/2010 13:22

Thanks lilmissmummy, glad to know I'm not mental... Blimey shieldbug, that sounds like some bump!

I don't think I've got much of a bump at all at the moment but I can see people at work surreptitiously checking out the size of my stomach when they think I'm not looking so maybe it's a bit bigger than I think. Not in maternity clothes just yet but my work trousers are safety pinned, rather that properly buttoned up!

Size of bump also depends very much on if I need the loo or not! - TMI?

Nymphadora · 26/04/2010 14:22

Anyone else extremely grumpy & on a v short fuse? Am snapping at everyone

piesey · 26/04/2010 15:58

Hi everyone

I was on the other thread but haven't posted for ages! I'm currently 13+5 and due 27th October.

I had my scan last week and all was well - I am so relieved as I had spotting and bleeding at 6 weeks and again at 7 weeks.

My sickness seems to be going and I'm not half as tired as I was which is good news. I still don't really feel pregnant though - does anyone else feel like this? I don't really have a bump although I get one in the evenings, but am wearing maternity jeans as my others just don't fit any more.

floozietoozie · 26/04/2010 16:44

Hello piesey, soozle, and babybunting. We're growing (in all ways)...

I don't have a bump but I'm definitely thickening, particularly in the evenings. I don't really feel pregnant either apart from still feeling sick quite often, which is annoying. But, my lower back has got quite sore the past week, which apart from being pg related is from lifting DS, so I'm really trying to watch my posture and bend at the knees. I didn't have any problems like that last time, but of course I didn't have 17kg plus tall child to lift either!

Soozle - excited/terrified - absolutely. Much more so this time round actually on the terrified front. I was fairly blase last time I think.

Have to go and borrow our neighbour's hoover as ours has packed up and we've got a visitor this evening. I don't think we can keep them in the (lovely) new kitchen/diner all evening, so better hoover the front room as it's a bit of a disaster. Byeee for now.

floozietoozie · 26/04/2010 16:45

That should be 17kg+ tall child....

AbFabT · 26/04/2010 16:49

Welcome, SoozieQ. I am excited and ..... something. Not terrified, I think more 'aaargh, how am I going to have read enough about what to do and researched enough which carseat is the best and worked out this and that and the other etc etc'! But mostly I am so excited and thrilled to be here.
And we love TMI on here! In fact, there's no such thing - tell us everything!!!

Welcome to piesey too. Lovely to have you here. Hope there's no more bleeding for you and you can relax, though I have heard of people bleeding throughout, and all has been fine. I don't really feel that pregnant, I only have a slight bump, and in general, I feel well and 'normal'!

lilmiss, yeah, I was a bit hacked off, but such is life. They said when I go for my next check-up in July it will be free, but they couldn't do a refund as the accounts had been done and I needed to have shown my exemption card in advance. Tough for me, as I didn't know at the time I was pregnant. Oh well. Worse things happen.

Midwife appointment was fine, heart was beating away nicely! Yippee! Got my blood results too, and everything is great, great iron levels and everything.
And on my way back, I bumped into a lady with boy/girl twins of four weeks old, ohhhhhh, they were so gorgeous. I didn't know her, but did have to pass comment on how gorgeous they were! I'm not usually one to say things to random people in the street! She was really friendly, I told her I was 17 weeks along, and she said I wasn't showing, was I! No, I don't suppose I am! (Not in clothes, anyway). Maybe I'll not be one of those big pregnant ladies.
I then bumped into a friend from the gym, we talked a bit about her first, and she was looking at me funny, then I said I was pregnant, and she said she could tell from looking at my glowing face! Not my tummy, but apparently I have the pregnant glow! Woo hoo!

Hermya321 · 26/04/2010 16:50

Nymph Yep I can sympathise with that one!!

I've got a dentist appointment later (shudder), I hate dentists.

AbFabT · 26/04/2010 16:51

Sorry, SoozleQ, not SoozieQ.

AbFabT · 26/04/2010 16:54

Ooh, I actually like going to the dentist, Hermya! My teeth never feel as clean when I do them myself, but when he does that scrape and polish, ooh, I love it! My teeth feel shiny and fab! I even bought one of those scrapey things to do it myself but it's not the same!

NinthWave · 26/04/2010 18:56

Have added myself to the 20-week scan list - had my MW appointment this morning, and scan has been arranged for the morning of my 30th birthday! But what an amazing present it will be to see the baby (and maybe find out the sex...)

She found the heartbeat with the doppler, so I let the news out on Facebook this afternoon...my mobile has been pinging with textx ever since!

Abfab I think I'm going to be a small bump lady as well. I'm tall and skinny and am not even showing yet at 14 weeks. I have a friend who is 20 weeks and similar kind of build to me, she has a curve and thats about it. I'm a bit jealous over your love of the dentist, it takes me all my power not to bolt like some startled horse when I'm there. They gave a filling today.
