Here we go, pull up a deck chair, catch some rays and help yourselves to a mini eggs ice cream.

Foiled again. Got into work an hour ago to discover my manager is in London for the day....I just don't feel I can tell other people before her, so looks like another day's delay!

Happy birthday Hermya.

Ooh, kicks AbFab. I was 16 weeks last time when I first felt ds moving. It's lovely lovely lovely.

Better do some work now .

tiredfeet · 20/04/2010 16:29

happy birthday Hermya hope you are having a good day

AbFab I think I felt a kick for the first time today! In fact I'm sure I did. I thought I had a few days ago, but wasn't sure, but this time I'm convinced. It doesn't feel like anything I've ever felt before etc. It was so lovely

on other good news, I discovered that my local authority have a new initiative that means pregnant women can swim for free, its excellent, it cost nothing to join the scheme (although I believe they will send loads of junk mail about healthy eating etc) and I can swim as much as I like. I went today for the first time since getting morning sickness, and the lower back pain I had constantly has completely gone (for now at least

Tyson I'm sorry you're feeling so poorly today, that's rubbish.

lilmiss I hope the scan went well

Hermya321 · 20/04/2010 16:39

Abfab I'm trying to deny my change in age, so I'm probably not going to change my age for a little while.

Thanks for all your wishes guys, I celebrated over the weekend by going out and eating lots of nandos type food and eating a lot of sweets.

I've been mostly vegging out and watching DVD's today. I went for a walk (to try and counter act the sweets) and had to come back early as my hips and pelvis were aching as I was walking along. They're still hurting now and on top of that I had a right dizzy spell half way round as well.

LO's just been rolling around in there without a care in the world. It's the shape of things to come I feel.

I haven't posted in a while as been busy and slightly overwhelmed by all the new people and messages!

Someone mentioned dry skin: my face is really dry, but atleast my greasy hair and forehead (and spots!) have all cleared up!

I'm half way through painting the nursery now, then just the rest of the house to get decorated before October comes!

I have a definite bump now (although still bigger some days than others) and I 'm guessing that as this is my first that means I have rubbish tummy muscles! Have lots of maternity clothes though, as bought 4 bin bags full for £50 on eBay, so am already wearing mostly maternity clothes as it's more comfy.

Last week I weighed myself and I'd put on 4 or 5 pounds, which I think was about right for 15 weeks when I checked. Have been eating LOADS though, so was a bit worried I might have put on a stone or something!

I have felt something wriggling in my tummy for a few weeks, but felt a definite prod yesterday, which was quite exciting!

Sorry for the long message, just wanted to try and reply to as much that people have been saying as I can: I have been reading just no time to post!

Hope everyone is feeling well, and enjoy the sunshine!

jennimoo · 20/04/2010 17:03

tiredfeet - I've been thinking about swimming, as don't have a lot of energy and there is a pool near where I've moved to. Don't think it's free round here though, but will check!

I have been trying to find a swimsuit though, preferably something that will last through a summer holiday and swimming as late in to pregnancy as I feel up to it. Anyone got any ideas? I hate ones that don't have enough support usually, so as i've increased several cup sizes already most maternity really don't look like they are up to the job!

DillyDora · 20/04/2010 17:19

God, tiredfeet I love the sound of the swimming - I shall be seeing if there's anything like that around here!

I am such a twit, I came on here earlier and forgot to tell you that I got a letter from the hospital today giving me a low risk for downs woohoo!!!! 1 in 760 which isn't as low as some I know but good for my age (37)

I was doing some yoga the other day and when I did my deep breathing I'm sure I could feel the baby zooming about! It was hilarious, I was trying to be all serene and all I could do was pay attention to this fluttering right inside me!

Sorry to those feeling poorly .

I'd be interested in the swimsuit thing too as I usually wear bikinis, might have to change that, eh?

ILoveGregoryHouse · 20/04/2010 17:20

Just felt a flutter in my tum. 12+3. Felt babies at 16 weeks, 14 weeks and 12 weeks with previous 3.

How's everyone sleeping? I'm waking at 4am every day with horrible heartburn and nausea. Not nice.

Am waiting for mum to come back for the airport - her flight back to Heathrow was supposed to leave at 2.45 but has just been cancelled. She'll be really peed off having been in the airport since lunchtime. But I've made some lovely macaroni cheese for her.

Jennimoo, try figleaves.com for maternity swimwear.

Hermya Happy Birthday.

tiredfeet · 20/04/2010 17:24

I found my costume in mamas and papas. It was the only place selling any at all in the huge shopping centre I went too, and I really wanted to try one on rather than get one on the internet in case it was the wrong size. Its quite good as its very adjustable so I'm hoping it will last me through most of pregnancy. They also had a couple of tankini's which looked nice, but I'm wary in case I get stretch marks, don't fancy flashing them to the world! I did find mamas and papas a bit overwhelming though, all those prams and enormously pregnant women, it was a bit of a reminder of whats to come

dillydora so pleased you got a low risk for downs

DillyDora · 20/04/2010 17:24

ILGH where has your mum come from? My stepsons are stuck in S Africa (with their mum! not alone!). Sorry about the 4 am waking - yeugh.

Cheers for figleaves suggestion

ILoveGregoryHouse · 20/04/2010 18:05

Dilly, we're in Bahrain. Mum has been with us since Feb and had planned to go back to day as I'm into second trimester and am supposed to be feeling better . Anyhoo, she's just walked back in the door but her case is still on the plane so there's hope she'll get back home to London tomorrow.

DillyDora · 20/04/2010 18:07

Of course, I forget who's where sometimes, poor thing, it's a right old saga trying to travel at the mo. Macaroni cheese sounds like a great idea though (pregnant woman's heaven too - I can't get enough carbs!)

AbFabT · 20/04/2010 19:41

I'm just unsure about the kick though - I think it felt different from anything I've felt before, but then I am wondering if I wanted it so much I imagined it!

I was in bed and DH was still up, but I got up and went to tell him. He looked soooooo excited and thrilled, even though I said I wasn't sure. Bless his heart.

Lovely to hear you lot are feeling kicks too!

Hermya - you are one of the young ones! I'm going to be 36!

tiredfeet, wow re the free swimming! I am going to email my council now - I still need to ask about reusable nappies and if they offer anything to help.

jennimoo, I ordered one from Blooming Marvellous (don't forget the MN discount) - it's a tankini so should cover my bump between now and nine months, and any belly I have after the birth! Haven't worn it yet, but I am looking forward to doing so.
FTR, I see nothing wrong with a pregnant woman in a bikini. I might do it when I have more of a bump - if I were to do it now, I think I just look like I've eaten too much cake!

lilmissmummy · 20/04/2010 19:43

Scan went well, baby still wouldnt get in the right position for NT though even after 15 minutes and a walk AND something to eat still baby wouldnt get in the right position and the sonographer had to give up! I think we have a naughty baby on our hands . Baby measured at 13+3 so I will have to put my date back to the 24th October.

So I am having the quadruple test at 15 weeks instead (havent read my notes yet so dont know what that is!)

Also saw the midwife today who was all happy and smiley which was nice and did all my booking in stuff!

AND got the date for my next scan which is the 10th June (which I will put on the list in a mo)

Anyway my pil are stuck in Uganda they were out there for 3 weeks and due back last Friday they are now due to get a flight back on Monday 26th (hopefully). DH is a bit worried but one of his brothers (he has 4) has spoken to the and they are fine, just a bit bored!

Dont like the sound of the 4am waking! yuck!

Macaroni cheese sounds lush, this baby doesnt like me having much Dairy though, gives me a terrible tummy! My DD is Dairy Intolerant so it is probably a sign of things to come!

YAY I am having a baby

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 20/04/2010 19:48

Dillydora- congrats on results! What a relief

Tyson86 · 20/04/2010 19:54

KSal · 20/04/2010 20:18

congrats on the test results dillydora, i'm still waiting for mine, its been nearly two weeks now so can't be long.

congratulations lilmiss too on your scan!

I am now sure i can feel movement (am 15 weeks and its my second)... for the last few days i have been wondering but couldn't be sure it wasn't wind but today i was absolutely sure that it was the tiddler doing tumbles. I emailed DH and he was pretty excited too!

Also i told work today, everyone was cool about it... and completely unsurprised due to the number of doctors appointment i have had!

Tiny, I am so sorry.x Thinkng of you,x.

Samantha, my last pg I remember looking at the science lab sinks and wanting to hurl in them. It was so hard. I'm so glad I'm not teaching through thisd pregnancy. You have all of my sympathy.

Haribo....mmmm....I'd love some fungums cola bottles right now!

All is fine my end, I'm 17 and a half (the half is important) weeks now. My 20 week scan is soon. I'm nervous, sooo nervous. Just hoping all is ok with baby. I'm getting subtle movements and what feels like a baby arching it's back and pshing bum/heads into the side of me.

Is everyone else nervous about the 20 week scans approaching?

Who's hoping to find out the sex?

loobyboo · 20/04/2010 21:36

Seeing mw on 27th for 16wk check and 20wk scan on 25th may. Will update list.

Lilmiss Yeah we are! I also had Mac and cheese last night, it was well lush.

Dilly Fantastic news, congrats!

Abfab I do forget that for a lot of people my age babies don't even feature in their world view. I mean a lot of my friends in church who got married around the same time as me now do have babies or want them. If I'm honest, I didn't really fit in with that group as my interests lay elsewhere (fast cars, general geekiness, low brow comedies my DH thinks he's really lucked out on that score), so my LO has come as a bit of surprise to them.

I did try going swimming a few weeks ago, but there are some very pervy men at my local pool. I think I offended them with my youth. Seriously one of them had such a bad dye job I could spot his roots at fifty metres. They probably thought I was going to start frolicking and generally start some antisocial type shenanigans. Ha! I'd most likely be the one solving such things. I'm trying to find a more discerning pool with more acceptable pervy men.

I mean don't get me wrong, I don't like being stared at like I'm desert. But there is a big difference between being stared at like that by a nice looking George Clooney type or some bloke who looks like he could be that weird Uncle your Mum never talks about.

SilverSky · 20/04/2010 21:52

Tyson - do you have an email address I can contact you on???

I am 14+1 today I think, still not told work, supposed to have another blood test on Thurs but don't see the point as the FMC did theirs already and I am running out of reasons to bunk work not to mention that I want to wait til next week to tell them. So do I wait and have the bloods done at my 16wk appt or go on Thurs??

Haven't told any of my chums yet, as my BF is away and want to wait for her to come back and tell her first as don't want her to read about it on blooming Facebook.

Why is life so complicated?

AbFabT · 20/04/2010 22:43

LOL @ 'more acceptable pervy men'!!!

Silver, if you don't see the point in further tests, if you have already had them privately, as long as you have the results for your records, maybe don't bother? I would call them though, and explain, and take professional advice.

When is your BF back?
