Here we go, pull up a deck chair, catch some rays and help yourselves to a mini eggs ice cream.

Katy Thats so cool! Are you going to be doing 3D or just the normal bog standard one? I really really want to book a 3D one, I'm not sure if DH will let me though.

I've had such a nice day, just been sat outside in the garden having a good old catch up with family and then went out for some tea. It's been fantastic, just what the Doctor ordered!!

Hermya its amazing how great the sun can make you feel isnt it?
Glad you also had a good day

Nymphadora · 18/04/2010 07:13

hermya me too BUT I would be worried about seeing too much & spoiling the surprise IYSWIM

Katy86 · 18/04/2010 09:54

Hi everyone!!!!!!

Hermya Im just going to have the bog standard one because i only want to know the sex. Like Nymph said i would like a little suprise like what they look like. Im just way to impatient to have the sex be a suprise lol. But some of my friends have had the 3D scans and say they are amazing! Ive seen some of the pics and they look so cool!

Hermya even if you dont get a 3D one do you think you will find out the sex?

Another lovely sunny day ladies so enjoy!!!

xx

I have just been looking at prams and the pram threads on here

So I went on Ikea and looked at cots then looked at mattresses

Not going near car seats

Think I'm just going to go to the baby shop and get the people to tell me what to buy!

Hermya V good baby shop in B (well used to be and they have expanded loads)

Hermya321 · 18/04/2010 11:16

Oh dear, attempted to go out this morning to church. I spent a sum total of twenty minutes there before giving up and coming back home. I feel so knackered today and so sick, might go have a nap on the sofa and attempt to rustle up some of that thing called energy that people keep telling me about.

Katy I'm leaning more towards that I will, more for DH to bond with baby. I think if it was just me, I'd probably not bother.

Nymph I've been past that shop a few times and it does look quite good, personally I've already decided on a pram that I like and am going to try and get it second hand off of ebay or the like. Prams seem to be a bit overpriced these days, I could buy a car for what some of them are asking for. I don't mind second hand stuff, it makes more sense to me, plus I'm not exactly rolling in dough these days. I guess you're right about the 3D ones, I don't think I will end up getting one but I think it would be quite nice as an experience.

Nymphadora · 18/04/2010 13:57

I am knackered too woke at 8 read for a bit then slept til 1 still wiped out though. Supposed to be sweeping stairs but stopped for a rest half way

Still got some stuff from dd1&2 but got rid if most. Have v good lightweight buggy I used to use on trains with them as toddlers but had a crap pram last timewhich didn't last 2 so want a decent one this time as the plan is to get 2 kids out of it! Also planning on walking more this time as will be on school run a lot & can do majority of shopping on foot.

Last cot was mine, then my cousins then my Mams friends daughter then dd1 then dd2 ate chunks of it and broke the side. I was v upset to get rid of it

Hermya321 · 18/04/2010 14:53

Nymph I'm going to get a Quinny buzz, I just quite like the look of it to be honest. Regarding a cot I'm going to try and get hold of a semi decent second hand one if I can. Are you going to go to any NCT classes? I was thinking about it, but they're so expensive I'm having second thoughts about it.

OP posts:
Nymphadora · 18/04/2010 16:54

No not a lot of point with classes as I'm having a section & most of the class is about birth. Looking at yoga if I can work round it although if they do it at K I could go in my breaks & aquanatal which is in a different town too so nothing v useful for meeting people! Going to have to rely on toddler groups!

Elsa123 · 18/04/2010 16:55

Hello! Hermya- I jst looked up NCT classes and there are none exactly close by and for the long drive they are costly, so I'm going to see what else is around.

Prams- I'm after one that will cope with rough terrain for twice daily dog walking and don't want one of those big 3 wheelers as my sister had one and I found it really hard to manoeuvre, so at the moment, I'm liking the silvercross sleepover classic as the suspension looks good and the wheels look like they'd be easy to hose down.

Nymphadora · 18/04/2010 17:01

hermyaweds evening in K so no good for me!

elsa mine will have to cope with cobbles and tiny shops plus lots of lifting in & out of house & car!

Hermya321 · 18/04/2010 17:09

Oh well nymph elsa, at least I know there'll be people on here who I talk to in the wee hours whilst I go quietly insane trying to get LO sleep and well theres always meet ups isn't there.

Nymph i'm going to try and get along to those sort of things when I can, probably will be an intermitant thing tbh.

OP posts:
Nymphadora · 18/04/2010 17:19

The yoga thing is in 6 week blocks & have to be 16 weeks so I could start the next block but will have to work round it like yoga & not dine any for ages

tiredfeet · 18/04/2010 17:23

hello all, I've finally been and bought my first maternity clothes just some tops, my breasts had grown so much and I have the beginnings of a bump so it seemed a good excuse to go shopping! Also had a lovely lunch in the sunshine with a friend so its been a good day.

sorry you are struggling today Hermya I hope it improves soon

will do the questions now, never felt well enough to answer the last lot!

met dp- on holiday sailing in the Baltic, we were on the same boat, lovely memories

first gig - Space in Leeds I thinnk

place I'd be - definitely Yorkshire

best thing about pregnancy - the baby at the end, but also that my nails have grown and stayed strong for the first time ever

dp changing nappies - yes I think so, he largely sets his own work hours so we're hoping he can cover some of the childcare if I go back to work, so poor child will suffer if he doesn't!!

hope you have all had lovely sunny Sundays

moonstorm · 18/04/2010 17:47

Hello everyone!

I've been lurking for a while as I can't keep up with the speed of the thread . I wanted to come out of lurkerdom to ask a question - hope you don't mind.

I'm due 14.10.10, so about 14.5 weeks. Is anyone else's bump really achy? It seems to be affecting me already (slower walking etc) - I remember this from last time, but I don't think it was before the 3rd trimester. Does anyone else have an aching bump? (Not period pain-like, but in the same places IYSWIM)

Thanks

Nymphadora · 18/04/2010 17:56

Yes to aching! And slow walking

Tyson86 · 18/04/2010 18:16

Not on my bump but bottom of my back is agony by evening time.
Went out for a picnic on the racecourse today and it was nice but got chilly. Dh is upsetting me atm as got to go to Hunstanton, maybe, on the 8th May for a birthday thing and he wont get the details to make sure its def Hunstanton as i want to book a hotel for the friday night as im the driver and will need a break IYSWIM. It is for his side of the family and he is really irratating me about it now

Has everyone had their scans now? Any left?

nunnie · 18/04/2010 19:50

I have my scan tomorrow afternoon first one, last pregnancy I had had three by now. So I feel like I've been waiting forever .

DillyDora · 18/04/2010 20:12

Hi All,

Glad to hear you're mostly well, sorry to those who're still feeling rough. I am relishing feeling like a human being again, good to hear I am not alone otherwise I would have worried a bit I think. I'm a bloaty creature today but had had a few days of no bloat which was fab. Great to have the energy, even more than before I got pregnant.

Told my head of dept - she was lovely and full of advice about my other co-worker, very down to earth and I felt much better.

In other news though I have developed a rash and broken a tooth - ugh. The rash is benign though I'll see the gp again Tuesday so he can have another look, of course I found one scary paper on the internet that links it to problems for the baby but I am trying to ignore - I posted about it in a separate thread and a couple of reassuring answers have come back. As for the tooth - guess I'd better find a dentist pdq - and all this in a really stressy busy work week. So, all in all it's a good job I'm feeling better!

More soon, have a lovely evening all and good luck with your scan nunnie

VMumToBe · 18/04/2010 20:15

AbFabT - a TT! Totally impractical but a whole load of fun. A last hurrah. Decided it was that or some cots/bugggies/nappies etc. DH is undecided which is better value!!! A convertible campervan sounds like an awesome idea though, and a whole lot more practical!

Elsa123 / nunnie isn't it horrible studying in this lovely weather! I forced myself to stay in and finish off my dissertation for my diploma, which felt like a huge punishment in the sunshine. Done now though thank goodness, and last one of the dimploma. Think I will have a bit of a break before I start the foundation course (and good luck to you both - lets go for passes all round ladies!)

Hermya321 know exaclty how you feel on the sickness front. Thought it was supposed to get better from now on in! DH has just made a beautiful veggie soup and the mere smell of it is making me hurl. Quite strange, as pre-preg I ate vegetables in industrial quantities and now all I seem to want is tomatoes and ham. And ginger biccies. Hope that the preg vitamins are providing pippy with what s/he needs. Nymph I'm loving the sleeping still too! take my hats off to all those ladies with DCs already - you guys are amazin!

Still in isolation from this chick pox thing, and working from home tomorrow. Hope I get something done!

Good luck tomorrow nunnie!

Nymphadora · 18/04/2010 20:43

Someone remind me tomorrow to phone the MW & GP. I need perscription form & some hayfever stuff!

floozietoozie · 18/04/2010 20:45

Hi all, hope you had a lovely weekend. What amazing weather! Yesterday we went and parked next to this tiny little church in a really quiet area,
lots of twittering birds, next to the sea and took it in turns to go for a walk down
to the rocky shore while ds slept (I also napped while dp walked!), then went on to a country park and took ds on the playpark bit. Lots of bbqs going on. Today we went for a picnic in the park with friends then to a flower show with my mum. It was just gorgeous. Our kitchen is nearly finished and today was the first day the builders haven't been in for a week so we could enjoy it a bit.

I think I'm going to tell work tomorrow. I was debating hanging on for the bloods results on Friday but I kind of think if the nuchal is ok doesn't that mean my risk is lowish anyway? I'm dying to tell more people. I should have told my friends today but because of running around children they were never quite all together at the same time and I also couldn't quite think
how to bring it up. Stupid really because I was offered a glass of wine - perfect opportunity but I was driving anyway.

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 18/04/2010 21:01

Hi everyone!

Wow vmum, a tt! I stupidly got the baby before thesportscar, am now realising the sports car is unlikely to happen until my midlife crisis

Moonstorm welcome! I've got an itchy belly too, but currently putting it down to sand/suncream combo as surely too soon for stretchy skin?!

So, had sad news today, my new boss was killed yesterday in an accident. So tragic, he'd just come back from holiday with family. His business partner will be devastated: it's just the 2 of then plus me/other temp. From a selfish point of view I've been rung not to go in tomorrow, so have a days's nursery to pay for and no pay: and didn't get paid last week as he is the one to sign my hours sheet. Really hope I get called in and can help, it will be chaos this week. I just keep thinking of his poor family

gave ds and dh a rather large hug and kiss this evening- and counted my many lucky stars

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 18/04/2010 21:08

Floozietoozie - sounds a gorgeous weekend we had a similar one: outside for most of daylight hours. Dh even swam in the sea yesterday! What a relief the builders are out for a day- nearly there! Sure it will be amazing when done.

Nymph, I forget everyhing for me, so I'll remind you tonight and hopefully some one else will tomorrow nymph get your prescriptions sorted

Hermya321 · 18/04/2010 21:12

Nymph Don't forget to ring your Doctor!!

Seashells What horrid news, I hope the family are as ok as they can be.
