Hi all

I am due 3rd August with DC2 a little surprise. My DD is 13 months and is a happy little bunny.

I hope everyone is well and enjoying their pregnancies to the full.

Bumps are awesome! But they do get in the way when cuddling.

Chulita · 09/05/2010 21:45

cazzy I just peeked at your photos and that pic of your dd3 is adorable!
alice I've always been an early-to-bed-early-to-rise person. (not so early to rise now if I can help it!) So it is lovely to have a decent excuse
hello fuzzybunny!

marzipananimal · 09/05/2010 21:47

welcome fuzzybunny I'm enjoying pregnancy (mostly) but so impatient to have my baby!

pample it's my birthday tomorrow too! I hope you have a great day. cherry maybe you could update my age to 24 next time you do the list?

cazzybabs · 09/05/2010 21:49

well - dd3 id the cutest out of all my children (and the cheekiest and naughtiest too - but so cute and so funny).

It is dd1's birthday tomorrow! can't believe i have an almost 8 year old

thecoffeelady · 09/05/2010 23:08

neenz I just added you on facebook! my name is Sarah and my profile pic is b&w of me and dd when she was little

starshaker · 10/05/2010 09:54

Good morning ladies. How are we all feeling today?

DD and i are gonna have a day out. Am keeping her off nursery (naughty mummy) and we are gonna go into town and have a pedicure and get our hair done. Then we are meeting friends for lunch. Want to have a special day as i think she feels a bit left out as lately anything that comes into the house is for the babies. I also need to get bio oil as my tummy is getting to look like a road map lol. Only had a few last time and i was a bit shocked when i saw them all yesterday lol.

Alicetheinvisible · 10/05/2010 10:08

Morning

Does anyone want a pair of petite maternity jeans (foc)? I bought them last pg, but didn't get on with the low bump fit. Similar to these but bootcut. I am 5ft3 and they are too short for me (i didn't take into account first wash shrinkage ) So if anyone wants them, let me know here or FB.

Off to Toys R Us this afternoon to get DD a toddler seat for the loo and a change mat for the baby if they still have it in stock. There is a big Asda next door too, so may see if they have maternity wear.

Chulita · 10/05/2010 11:21

Argh! Never, never enjoy the quiet while your toddler potters around in another room...DD just emptied the nappy bucket onto the dining room carpet. The sodden inserts have been lying there for about half an hour and the whole dining room/kitchen stinks. Serves me right for not checking on her - she was out there less than 5 mins before I called her back! She didn't look guilty so I didn't suspect
Hope everyone has a chilled out Monday!

CherryPie3 · 10/05/2010 13:20

Cherrypie3 Thank you for adding me. I am 27 btw from Somerset.

Pregnany is great, although a little worn out by working too much and trying to be superwoman at home too.

I have a 34 week scan at the end of June to check where my placenta is, as was a little on the low side at previous scan. But I am confident that it wuill have moved so I can have the same relaxed home birth with no2 as I did with DD.

I used and am using bio oil, from about 20 weeks and have 1 stretch mark from 1st pregnancy only so far. Fingers crossed it will stay that way.

Chocolate time!

Alicetheinvisible · 10/05/2010 14:26

Just been to Toys R Us and i got......

this absolute bargain!

these quite a good price

and this

I didn't get the full size change mat as they didn't have the one i wanted, but very pleased with my shopping trip. I was going to go today to get DD a toddler seat for the loo (quite desperate) so had a quick look online to see if there was anything else before i went. Glad i did now!

weehector · 10/05/2010 15:07

Afternoon all

Life is a hundred times better than it was last week - knackered with the cold, sore throat & rampant indigestion, I was feeling that that was me on the downwards slope to being buggered for the rest of the pregnancy. After 24 hrs with my nieces on Saturday, I had to take to me bed until last night. But hurrah, I'm back to normal today!

I shouldn't be on here...I'm obviously skulking to avoid tidying up some work things (the consultancy job I was working on for an agency has gone to a final pitch on Wednesday & they've come back to ask me to do a few extra things & a client induction for the pitch team tomorrow - which I won't get paid for but I'm too nice to say no to, hence me being slightly resentful & reluctant)...and this morning, I've already completed my MA application (which took me forever because of my patchwork year of work), swanned about the garden cutting rhubarb & making rhubarb muffins, plotted out a garden shed (which my FIL is currently digging out), done 3 loads of washing and cleaned the kitchen. All v lovely and Cath Kidson-esque but definitely stalling...

V jealous of the bathroom chat too, ladies - I have a horrible downstairs toilet which would have been re-done by now if I wasn't currently a Jobseeker on 65 bangers a week - so your chat has brought back happy memories of swooning over Bathstore catalogues, porcelain & slate samples. I've just wistfully put away the Fired Earth tile samples this morning but I hope you can all see past the hassle to the sqeaky clean bathrooms you'll have for bathing your little babies soon.

Chulita grimus maximum on the carpet front. What a picture of motherhood you paint..

CazEM · 10/05/2010 16:55

Afternoon ladies!

Seems quiet on here today! I've usually about 3 pages of stuff to catch up on my return from work!

I've had one of those days at work where I've not done any teaching but spent the entire day sorting stuff out with the Deputy, sorting out meetings which have been booked in for exactly the same time as I'm at a MW appointment next week (my senior teaching assistant will have to attend in my absense cuz its my 28 week check, bloods etc, and I'm not missing or rearranging MW when MW was booked in first and people book me meetings without checking the diary with appointment already in!), on phone to social workers and on phone to local mainstream school regarding our joint pupil. So I was out of the classroom more than in it today!

Really pleased to home and sat down on sofa - I'm absolutely shattered I must say between lots of travelling over the weekend and one of those days today! 3 weeks till half term, which means 10 weeks till ML starts! Hooray!

Lucky DH had the day off today to recover from the business of the weekend. (I really wish I was in a job where I could book days off to make my weekends long when I liked!!) He is still pretty much the same as he was, he phoned GP/Hospital today to chase up appointment, to be told he'd only been referred as a routine paitient not urgent as Dr had promised, so I'm pleased I made him do some chasing today cuz who knows how long we would be waiting on routine referral?!!! Annoyed too because he now has to go back to the GP AGAIN tomorrow for another reassessment and then another referral to make it urgent this time. I mean how long has this been going on for now? A month... I'm not impressed with our GP at all I must say.

On the stretchmark front, I don't want to speak too soon but nothing appearing as yet. Using bio-oil twice a day and hope that is helping! Plenty of time to appear as I balllon even more yet though I suppose! (27+2 now!) My skin does feel really tight now, and I'm starting to wonder just how big I'm going to get! Haha!

Getting a pain at the top of my bump - anyone know what it could be? Is it just one of the normal expected pains as baby grows? I'm wondering if its cuz I spend a lot of the day bending down to children's level, sitting on little chairs etc and everything is getting squashed there with my ribs?... Any feeling quite uncomfortable with it.

Welcome fuzzybunny - I am also enjoying pregnancy!

Chulita - I feel really sorry for your smelly dining room but I did have a giggle I must admit.

Alice - sounds like you had a lovely trip to ToyRUs! Will be encouraging DH to take me there again soon!

Sorry if I've forgotten to catch up with anything else others have mentioned. Happy birthday to everyone who is celebrating this week!

Off to eat a lovely bowl of Honey Waffles!

bouncingblueberries · 10/05/2010 17:06

Hi girls

Had my glucose tolerance test this morning. Yuck. Really didn't want to, but decided I should play the game as it were. Totally expect it to come back negative as there is absolutely nothing to suggest I have gestational diabetes. Was only referred because my dad has diabetes. Hey ho.

Lots of good bargain hunting going on I see alice

chulita hope you managed to get your carpet cleaned - been there, done that honey! interesting to hear that the itti bitti's leaked with your dd they are sooooooo gorgeous!

Ready to go home now but I'd better put in another half hour at work I suppose given I didn't get in til 1pm!

Really fancy a big bowl of strawberries and vanilla ice-cream...or a strawberry mivvi!

girlsyearapart · 10/05/2010 17:43

hello all

had my growth on scan today- baby weighs in at approx 3lb so is only a little bit above average.

Bit wierd though as my nephew was born at 31 wks and weighed 3lb so I know what a 3lber looks like..

Having that GTT on thursday as had a baby over 4kg so come into the category.

All sounds like a giant waste of time tbh..

weehector · 10/05/2010 17:44

CazEm (my 7th August buddy) - I'm getting pains here too, those rib ones you describe (which I've put down to the baby getting pretty big in there and now squashing up under the ribs) and last night, a really sore throbbing pain across my side that woke me up. For about 20 seconds until I properly came to and moved, I thought I was in labour...I was terrified!

CazEM · 10/05/2010 19:40

Thanks weehector - I was pretty sure it was a "Mummy your squashing me against your ribs by constantly bending down" type pain - but reassuring to here your experiencing something simular! Must be our babies up under our rib cages now! Aren't the weeks flying by!!

My lovely DH has cooked a lovely chicken roast for tea while I went to bed for a nap! He's just got me up to eat! He's good to me!

Alicetheinvisible · 11/05/2010 08:10

Morning

Had a rubbish nights sleep. Had a tingly crampy leg and bum cheek, and couldn't get comfortable. and then this morning i have spilt sugar all over the kitchen and burnt my toast. Not a great start.

DD came up to me yesterday with the bag of baby stuff we bought at toys r us. "Mummy, open bag" so i took the stuff out and showed her what we had bought and explained that it was for the baby in mummy's tummy. "Hmm" she said and wandered off.
Later she came up to me with the travel change mat and said "out, baby out!" I bloody wish!! i have had enough of this pregnancy lark now and we haven't even got to the hard part

Chulita · 11/05/2010 08:11

Morning all!
CazEm I find when I bend down I get pains, but we're pretty far on now so the baby's only going to get bigger.
I dreamt I had the baby, a little boy, but he was Asian when I mentioned it to DH he said, 'yes, well he's not my child, it's his' and pointed to some random Asian man...I was sitting there thinking 'I don't want that man's baby, I want DH's baby' but no one seemed to be particularly bothered about it and then I thought I couldn't call an Asian baby Samson but it'd better be called Mohammed but that didn't sound right with my last name...[sigh] pregancy dreams are soooo odd!
On top of crazy dreams I've rediscovered my love of cleaning sponges Can't get enough of them, just smelling and squeezing them...trouble is when pg with DD I could just get on with it but now she nicks my sponge and sits there sniffing it - oops! She's going to develop a very strange love of smelling sponges.
Sorry for mammoth post, I'll leave you to enjoy your breakfasts

ElusiveMoose · 11/05/2010 08:18

Caz, sorry to disappoint you, but I didn't get stretchmarks last time until around 38 weeks, then they suddenly popped up overnight. So you're not out of the woods yet . Still, you might be lucky .

Not getting any bump pains here, as such, but did get my first proper BH last night (no pain, but bump went rock hard across the top).

Got a muffin stand for my birthday last week(one of those twisty wire ones), and had my toddler group round for coffee yesterday, so decided to make proper cupcakes. Lovely recipe - you make the basic cake and then soak them with homemade vanilla syrup. And then I did proper piped frosting (lemon flavour) with little sugar flowers on top. Very not me (I'm quite a good cook, but presentation is not my strong point ), but I was very chuffed with them. Anyway, there are loads left, so thought I'd hand some round .

CherryPie3 · 11/05/2010 08:19

Morning lovelies

Twas a very quiet day indeed yesterday. I didn't even have to read a million posts - think it was about 8 . Are you lot ok???

Physio yesterday was pointless, they gave me crutches which I just cannot use!! Well, I can but I look silly and how am I going to hold dd and ds's hands when we're out?

CazEm Thats a bit crap that they're booking meetings and stuff for you without checking your appointments...
Hope your dh is on the mend. What a cock-up from your GP!!

Blueberries YUCK at the GTT!!!
. It's vile isn't it? I had mine on 30th Apr and it's so crap, the glucose drink makes baby go mad, then theres the waiting, and waiting, and waiting.... oh and the bloods Hope results are ok for you

GYA How many growth scans do you have to have? I think it's brilliant how they can guess-timate the weight at this stage just by a scan. And how lovely for you to see your lo again

Weehector and CazEm - hope the pains get better!!

OP posts:
girlsyearapart · 11/05/2010 08:23

know what you mean alice we have explained that when mummy's tummy gets very big then daddy will take mummy to the hospital and the doctor will help take the baby out..

Trouble is now every time I come back from ante natal apts she looks behind me and says 'Where's the baby??'

By the way that explanation is probably not good enough for lots of people on MN who like to scare talk to their v young children about birth canals and vaginas

Also v tired of the whole pregnancy thing now- had some major contractions last night, must've been BH but have never had them before. Was vaguely thinking that was it

CherryPie3 · 11/05/2010 08:29

Alice I have also had enough!! I find I'm wishing the weeks away just so I can be 35 weeks, thats my comfortzone for baby to be early as dd was born at 35wks.

I have a consultant appointment today and I'm going to ask her about the possibility of early induction because of this horrible lousy and inconvenient SPD (or PGP as they now call it )

Elusive Mmmmmm......cupcakes

Chulita Pregnancy does funny things to you...sponges?

OP posts:
Chulita · 11/05/2010 08:32

I just heard from my best friend that she's 1 in 710 risk of downs and she's really worried about it (she's a worrier anyway) so I've tried to tell her that it's still a low risk.
Another friend just had her 20 wk scan and was told that her little boy's head/brain aren't fully formed so there's no chance he'll survive being born They're praying for a miracle, that his skull will grow. She miscarried in October too so this is a double blow for her...it's so hard to know what to say...
I was the same as elusive didn't get any stretchmarks til 41 weeks, DD dropped and they popped up overnight...different story this time cos they never disappeared from last time [sigh] not a bikini body!
