I bought a moses basket on ebay for £15 last night with a rocking stand. Only used for 2 weeks and I'll get a new mattress for it so I'm pleased with that (on sale in Boots for £80 )

Hope you get a good night emster!

cazzybabs · 07/05/2010 22:48

Alicetheinvisible · 08/05/2010 07:52

Morning ladies

Cazzy wow 4D! Will you put it on your profile?

Baby woke me up at 4.30 this morning because it was kicking so hard

Going to Toys R Us sometime over the weekend to get DD a toddler seat to fit on our loo and they have baby change mats for £4.99 too.

Also need to go to Bathstore to look at stuff and find out a bit more. Getting our bathroom completely redone - very exciting!

Have a good weekend ladies

bouncingblueberries · 08/05/2010 11:10

Morning girls! Very jealous of your fish and chips emster - yum!

Must look at ebay for moses baskets - sounds like you got a bargain chulita!

Knackered again today - think I might be anaemic so I've glugged some spatone to try and boost my iron levels. My itti bitti d'lish nappies arrived this morning and they are gorgeous! I love my tots bots, so hope these ones perform just as well.

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend! You must be getting really excited now LCR!

ElusiveMoose · 08/05/2010 14:01

Ooh, Alice, we can be bathroom buddies. We're having a new one as part of our loft conversion (assuming we get planning permission). I've spent weeks drooling over walk-in showers and wet rooms - I fancy something a bit like the one on p.128 of the Bathstore catalogue, if you've got it . (But imagine it in a room about a hundredth of the size, with a sloping ceiling .)

On the subject of bathrooms - does anyone have a digital shower? My loft guy was raving about the ones from Aqualisa, where you have a button next to your bed to turn the shower on, and then it changes colour to tell you when the shower's the right temperature. Sounds a bit to me, but would be interested to hear any views...

CrunchieNutterII · 08/05/2010 14:32

Ooh, please can I join the 'Bathroom Club' Alice and Elusive. DH is doing ours next week. Very much looking forward to having a nice bathroom again. I've really missed my long hot soaks. Never heard of a digital shower Elusive, sounds expensive to me

Still looking for a cheap light weight push chair for my DS. Am e-baying for one but the ones that I like are going for quite a lot of money and as it's only a temporary pushchair until I start using my new tandem one when no.2 arrives, I don't want to spend too much. Oh well, back to it. After I've put my apple crumble in the oven that is yummmmmmmmmmmm!

Alicetheinvisible · 08/05/2010 17:08

We are getting the Savoy edwardian sink and loo
A plain square bath (has to fit into a space, and this shower above the bath.

Oh, and this radiator

Very exciting

Aussieng · 08/05/2010 17:27

We're still busy doing our ensuite - DH quitting his job slowed us up financially and then he was trying to get it finished before going away on his training course with his new job but PlumbWorld's slow delivery service scuppered that! We're putting in a wetroom floor-walk in shower and shower with massage jets etc. Should be nice when done and best of all will keep DH out of my bathroom

There's a thread on AIBU at the moment about DH's not shutting the door when they go to the loo. DH used to do this but a polite request from me has sorted the problem but I as amused to see how many people object so strongly ("hate") ensuites. Some Mumsnetters seriously don't have enough to worry about!

Elusive - never had a show like that but I like the idea. We did have a digital shower with various setting so you just hit a button and the shower cam on to your preferred temperature, spray and intensity which I liked very much.

Been a bit bored so been posting a couple of slightly inflammatory things on some of the politics discussions. Not said anything I fundamentally don't beleive but have perhaps expressed my views a little more uncompromisingly than usual Well you have to do something when the weather is rubbish!

Chulita · 08/05/2010 18:30

blueberries I love the look of the itti bitti but they leaked with DD. They were ok-ish for wee but any poo just sploodged right out They look adorable on though (although that's not the point )

I've had a crap day, started out to pick up the moses basket and spend the HiP on very important me baby stuff and ended up passing out in the car 2 miles from the house. DH pulled over and yanked me out and I opened my eyes to see rabbit droppings...lovely! I had been feeling lightheaded but thought sitting in the car would be fine...obviously not. Have spent the rest of the day sleeping, staggering around and feeling really silly with myself, no idea what happened there.

of all of you doing up bathrooms, rented army accommodation isn't worth doing much to.

I'm off to lie down again, my head's not in it today

ElusiveMoose · 08/05/2010 20:43

Chulita, that sounds horrid. I hate that faint/sicky feeling. Hope you're feeling better now - make sure you put your feet up tonight.

Alice, I'm liking your choices (radiator is lovely - sadly we'll only have room for a really weeny one). I'm considering the same shower, but I think I want one with a diverter as well...

Aussie, interesting to hear that you liked your digital shower. I'll have to see how much more expensive they are than a 'normal' one before I make my decision. And we're planning on a walk-in shower thingy as well. Trying to work out if it would be easier/cheaper to have a wet room floor or a long shower tray. It's all a bit complicated because the glass screens will have to be sloping and sunk into the ceiling. But I really love this sort of idea. This bathroom stuff is all very new to me, so I'm on a steep learning curve!!

Oh, and on the loo thing, it's more likely to be me leaving the door open than DH . He's much more concerned about privacy than I am. I mean, I don't deliberately leave the door open, but I never bother to shut it when I'm alone in the house, so I do sometimes forget the rest of the time .

cazzybabs · 08/05/2010 22:15

We are about to get our bathrooms done too - starts in 3 weeks and we are having a digital shower (not that I have ever got into a cold shower but anyway we are having one - dh does like his gadgts)

will post 4D scan photos - a week to go!!!!

HAd dd1's party - thank god it is over!!!! Over excitied 7-8 year olds - sigh and I have eaten too much...but did enjoy a naughty glass of wine

Alicetheinvisible · 09/05/2010 08:01

Morning

Chulita poor you, i felt like that a week or so ago, it is horrid.

Aussie i am the same. I always leave the door open when it is just me and DD in the house (so i can hear what she is getting up to!)

Cazzy sounds like fun

Anyone who's got a moment, would you look at my thread here please, thanks

Off to swimming now....

girlsyearapart · 09/05/2010 08:14

Couldn't live without my ensuite now I've got one! Ours is also in a loft conversion so is quite tiny- we bought a big rain shower head which had to be returned as too big but what we have is great.

chulita that sounds scary- at least you weren't driving..

crunchie we have an o baby circles stroller which I bought off the kiddicare site think it was around 50-60 quid. Am enjoying the time while I can when dd2 is in it and dd1 scoots/walks alongside.

alice also going swimming today- taking dd1 by herself as dd2 still not well enough and it's a bit of a mission with both on my own. Will look at your thread in a min.

Joey30 · 09/05/2010 09:48

Morning guys! Up way too early today- poor boyfriend woke me up coughing and snoring. He has man flu so I'll forgive him!

Alice and girlsyearapart I want to go swimming now too.... I'm so suggestible!

Alice had a look at your thread... what a sweet idea. I suggest trash magazines, a romantic comedy and chocolate!

Chulita- I hope you are feeling better today and getting plenty of rest

Chulita · 09/05/2010 11:52

I'm still feeling rubbish today, been in bed all morning just feeling dizzy. DH has been a gem and took DD out for a walk then popped her in bed. If I'm still like this tomorrow I'll phone the mw. I had a weekend of shopping and picnics planned, argh...

Alice I always go for nice smellies and chocolate - I reckon you can't lose with those!

cazzybabs · 09/05/2010 12:26

I feel crap as well today ... but have my parents and another friend coming round so have prepapred a lovely (touch wood - well paper does that count) roast .... I woke in the night really thirsty but couldn't be bothered to go downstairs to get a drink and now have a headache

Dh is also knackered - one still a side effect of his accident and two from staying up late playing on his playstation (when will he grow out of it?) .... so we are geat company today

Alicetheinvisible · 09/05/2010 17:46

Cazzy are you finding you are really thirsty at the moment? I generally don't drink enough but the last couple of days i have been drinking constantly. Hope the roast went well

Have had a lovely sunday, DD is getting really confident in the pool now which is lovely as i don't have to hold her up constantly with her pulling at my costume.

Looking up bathrooms again today and at Victoria Plumb, an almost identical bathroom is about £600 cheaper than Bathstore, despite everything being in the sale.

My bump feels very round and very hard today, it really is like a football this time. Just like the old wives tale - but how can that work?

pamplem0usse · 09/05/2010 17:55

Hi ladies,

Sorry I've been so AWOL (have you missed me?!) and I don't really have time to catch up.....

Have had a mad few weeks (several UTIs, attempting to get my midwife removed from my care -- which I'm told is impossible without a formal complaint, but then they won't even guarantee it with a formal complaint, which means I could potentially end up with an even more disasterous midwife-patient relationship!, the flu, and about 40k words written for my big Progress meeting, which I hope will be finally finished by the middle of next week.....oh and it's my Birthday tomorrow!).....

I trust you're all well and that no babies have arrived yet?!

Very jealous of all your new bathroom talk; our one in our house is very basic, but new and serviceable and so we can't really justify getting it changed.... have to tick of jobs anyway as we've just spent 3k having our sash windows renovated (finally the one in the baby's room doesnt rattle very loudly whenever someone walks up the stairs, yay!)........

Anyway must dash again but will do my best not to go quite as AWOL!

xxxxxxxx

CazEM · 09/05/2010 18:39

Hello everyone!

We've had a lovely "babymoon" weekend but both totally shattered now! Started off later than planned Friday night which meant we didn't reach Bangor until 11.30pm but had a lovely tranquil Saturday in Port Merion and DH has taken me for a retail Sunday on the way home today! (New skirt/top, new Xbox game for him and the rest of the bedding for baby!) Lovely!

Cazzy very of your 4D scan! I've been trying to persuade DH for weeks to have one but he is having none of it - says we have enought to spend without adding to it with things that aren't necessary! I'd love one, I think it would be really special to "meet" baby and see her in detail before she's born! Nevermind! Only 13 weeks or so to go and I'll be meeting the real little her! Can't wait!

Also of everyone getting work done on their houses!! I'm desperate for the attick boarding to be done now so babys room can be cleared of the junk and turned into a beautiful little nursery!!! I just can't believe how the weeks are flying by!

Time for relaxing now I think! Cuddle with the cat who hasn't left us alone since coming back home and read a baby magazine!

Hope everyone is well!

thecoffeelady · 09/05/2010 19:59

Just caught up on what feels like a million posts

Neenz it was my dd1 2nd birthday on thursday too!

Is anyone else really struggling to stay awake in the evenings at the moment? I am still working 70 hours a week but this is because we don't have the staff to replace my hours yet (and probably wont until my smp kicks in) combined with a 2 year old who really drags out bedtime and will only let me out her to bed means that by the time we get home, give dd her tea and then she has a bath, milk and stories its 8pm and I then have to cook dinner. At the moment if I am still awake at 10 I am lucky, I am behind with paperwork and I am always forgetting to do stuff resulting in a very stressful day the following day.

Chulita · 09/05/2010 21:01

thecoffeelady I struggle to stay awake in the evenings and I just look after a 17 month old all day - I take my hat off to you and your 70 hour week!
I've finally picked up, now that's it's practically bedtime and I can't do anything [frustrated] I did get the hoover out for the first time in about a month though, the dining room really needed it...who thinks it's a clever idea to carpet a dining room?? I love it when it's clean but never get round to hoovering not very houseproud!

cazzybabs · 09/05/2010 21:03

CazEM - only persuaded dh as it is the last baby

Alice - Roast was yummy...and I don't know about the thirst...I defiantly was a few weeks ago - I put it down to my body making more blood

It is dd's birthday - I am s stupidly excited about seeing her open her present - I hope she totally loves it (she s getting some riding lessons - not loads as we are not rich expecially with the impending arrival of dc4... but hey ho it's a start)

Alicetheinvisible · 09/05/2010 21:21

Cazzy did she like it?

Chulita i hate hoovering too, doesn't get done very often here either

I have always liked early nights, now i just have a good excuse!
