CurlyCasper · 13/04/2010 15:27

Thanks! and sure to the housewarming, you can all camp in my field-garden

reginaMonologue · 13/04/2010 15:57

curly that's super news! congrats on being all country life n'all

OkieCokie · 13/04/2010 16:17

whoop whoop for man from del monte house saying yes. I love a good house warming I do.

Yes honey, I like to think I am Nigella but I am so not. I have turned into a cliche since having a baby and I like to bake cakes on a Saturday night. Pubs and clubs are so last decade.

iggypiggy · 13/04/2010 16:23

Talking of red velvet cupcakes - I make them lots and this recipe is good: You have to scroll down for it I think is better than the humingbird one - cos have tried that too...

cokie have you tried the strawberry cheescake cupcakes from the hummingbird book? They were v. rubbish! Maybe is me - but i don't usually get cakes wrong... is odd...

OkieCokie · 13/04/2010 16:30

Yes, I did try those and I agree they did not turn out well. The fresh strawberries made them a bit too moist (I hate the word moist but it is the best description in this case)

I am going to try your red velet version on Saturday night

iggypiggy · 13/04/2010 16:42

Yes try it cokes

I dunno what I am - but i do make alot of cakes and I don't even have a baybee yet.... I have been a bit obsessed with baking since getting married

OkieCokie · 13/04/2010 16:51

I would like one of these. In fact I may take a leaf out of Pandy's book and indulge in a bit of retial therapy....

skihorse · 13/04/2010 16:53

Congratulations curly - that's fantastic news! I'm very much looking forward to photos now of the garden/foxy dawg and you in the paddling pool. Btw, pandy's new daughter photos - it's like looking in to your future doncha think?

honey Thank you, but puking iz wot I duz. . As for the nursery - given the way people fucking bang on about these places I thought they'd all be wipe-clean places filled with joy and minimum wage 17 year olds... Yep, they charge a fucking fortune and then pay minimum wage - makes my blood boil. From what I have read around these parts once you have 2 children and can find a local friend with one - you are definitely quid's in going down the nanny route.

I haz stupid question. I am not one to go to the doctor unless the offending limb is in my handbag and requires re-attachment. I looked at my tonsils in the mirror before passing out this afternoon and it doesn't look good. I've had v bad tonsilitis in the past - e.g., on oxygen in a nee-naw from Aberystwyth to Camarthen type stuff - so I think come morning I need to book a doc's appointment. Am I allowed anti-biotics as a differ? I do not want the boy going to hospital.

iggypiggy · 13/04/2010 17:03

ski you can haz antibiotics - deffo.

skihorse · 13/04/2010 17:05

Thanks iggy, I thought I probably would be - but you just never know. Someone told me I couldn't eat salmon (normal) on Saturday... so I picked up a bottle of wine and eye-balled him.

CurlyCasper · 13/04/2010 17:25

Thanks ski! (although moving plans have already resulted in mini row with him indoors)

I was on anti-bs for the first three weeks I knew I was pregnant. Think they're just careful about what type they give you. Hope your throat feels better soon.

yes, pandajunior piccies really made me smile. Colleague was looking over my shoulder and asked if the little girl in the picture was a relative. Or me when I was wee!

panda she and her "companions" are muchos adorable. Yet I fear I shall not be blessed with a mini-me but rather an Aryan Daddy's Girl.

CUNextTuesday · 13/04/2010 18:45

Oh poor you ski. Get them sorted out - you don't want an infection on the rampage depletin your stock of white blood cells...

Congrats curls the house looks lovely. Am v jealous

Ironic situation of the week: just bee chatting to stepson's girlfriend - she was asking why didn't I want to know sex of child so I knew what clothes to buy etc, explained about not being a fan of gender stereotyping, kid likely to wear unisex and play in mud, no cute dresses, etc etc. Whinged about how girls and boys are too often put into social 'boxes' in life and I would hate to think I was a party to that. All this whilst I was sweating in the kitchen over dinner whilst Hom and stepson were upstairs being noisy with drills and other DIY paraphernalia. www.craprolemodel.com

OkieCokie · 13/04/2010 20:50

Any advice on what is better in pregnancy Pilates or Yoga? I am thinking on doing a class but only have time for one.

pandora69 · 13/04/2010 20:53

Retail therapy is good! Okie, that's a smart looking mixer! I couldn't have one I leave out for all to see - it would be mostly covered with dried on bits of cake mix. I keep mine where the people eating my buns can't see it . We make lots of buns here - lots of eggs spare, you see! OH would live on buns if he could.

Cas congrats on the house! Will we have to call you 'Lady Cas' now?

Ta all for the piccie comments. I think DD is better looking than I was as a child, but there's not much photographic evidence to compare and contrast.

Cunty, DD is perfectly capable of jumping in mud up to her knees in her pink waterproof all-in-one and has been climbing in her treehouse today with friend's little girl while wearing a frilly skirt. I don't make her wear the pink - it's what she chooses. To balance it out she is obsessed with Roary the Racing Car and Thomas the Tank Engine. We have girly and boy-y stuff all over here!

pandora69 · 13/04/2010 20:53

BTW has ANYONE heard from Cheggers?

OkieCokie · 13/04/2010 20:58

Talk abour role reversals my little boy was pushing one of those little girls pushchairs around the nursery garden when I picked him up tonight. He does also like cars I hasten to add and it rather addicted to a rugby ball he has.

CUNextTuesday · 13/04/2010 20:59

getting fretful about Cheggers

OkieCokie · 13/04/2010 21:04

I reckon cheggers must totally have her hands full and perhaps is still in the hospital

SilverSky · 13/04/2010 21:28

Hi de hi campers!

How is everyone?? I am swell. Literally. My waist has gone South. Luckily my previous hour glass figure means that the trousers that used to be too big on my waist now are somewhat snug!

I've got my NHS scan on Thurs, be interesting to see the difference between the NHS and FMC. Also, I have to do a pee sample. The midwife said it needs to be a clean sample - can anyone enlighten me?? I assume that means just piss in a pot. Not sure what unclean pee would be?? Also more bloods.

A nurse called me yesterday as I have been referred by whom I am not sure but they are going to look into a condition that I have and to see if its genetic and could be passed to the baby. Also that my condition could make the Downs reading false in that it can come up as giving a higher chance of having a baby with Downs. I need to ring back next week to find out more after they have spoken to the geneticist. They asked me about tests I said only non-invasive.

So what's new here then?

I am not telling work just yet, I feel bad that work know before all my buds and so am hanging off telling them, though if my boss asks me if everything is ok when I go for another appt this week I will say I am having some tests, which is not a complete lie.

Curls congrats on the new pad.

Also, can't remember who made comment about "spawning a giant lumbering idiot" but boy did I LAUGH BLOODY LOUD AT THAT. Even Husband cracked a smile.

Family are already saying "oh Christmas will be different this year!" and my reply is "well hold off writing a letter to Santa cos its early days yet people"

CurlyCasper · 13/04/2010 21:28

okie pilates better for gentle core strengthening, but yoga would be my preference because my pre-natal yoga class focused on lots of helpful stuff specific to pregnancy and labour. No experience of a dedicated pre natal pilates class, I'm afraid.

Thanks for congrats all. still aspiring to country piles inhabited by pone and pand, but it's a step in the right direction.

cunty you have a vey large garden, that requires a tractor. I was very of that

CUNextTuesday · 13/04/2010 21:43

Slithery a clean sample is a midstream one where the rim of the pot doesn't touch any of your ladyparts, else it gets contaminated. Midstream will be sterile unless anything shows up - which it does every time on mine, hence I have to go and bother the AN consultant on Thurs about potential kidney-mither

CUNextTuesday · 13/04/2010 21:44

Ha curly did you see Hom in that FB video on his new toy? How we laughed! Much mirth...
