hi ladies here is our new thread

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Diege · 31/03/2010 17:13

Hi SORKY! Of course you belong here - not everyone's trying again for eg. TINKS, NAT, it's just that I have it on the mind at the moment

Playingatmotherhood · 31/03/2010 17:30

Hi Sorky. Of course you belong here, I was absent without leave for a long time and have just rejoined the fold. I would say most people are not trying, there's only 2 of us actively trying at the moment.

Deige - thanks. I'm ok now but just lost it for a bit. I'm sure it will be hard again for a little bit when I see her next but again that will pass. I fully expect to feel this way on and off until I get pg again. Hopefully it will be more off than on

essenceofSES · 31/03/2010 17:40

Playing - I could have written Diege's exact post. Unfortunately it will just crop up when you least expect it and stir the old emotions but it does gradually get easier. Take it easy - any wine or chocolate in the house?!

Sorky - hello stranger! Of course you belong here

Tink - glad DD1 enjoyed her Easter Egg hunt

GBL - hope SG settles well into the new room/group. It is another milestone though in growing up isn't it?!

O and I have had a good day. Last official meet up with post natal group this morning as work beckons for us all and not everyone has a Wednesday off like me! O will miss the Starbucks fruit toast so may have to take him there every so often
Then we did Jo Jingles and then toddler group at church. He has a v busy social life!

GruffaloSoldier · 31/03/2010 21:16

HELLO WAGONERS!!!

SORKY! I missed you! where have you been? oh and by the way, once a wagoner, always a wagoner. You cant get away from us that easily seriously its lovely to hear from you, hope all is well with you and your family

GBL - aww bless SG! she is growing up but she is going to have lots of fun in the next room up and have so much fun!!!

Diege - you make me laugh!especially with "The Hoobs" comment. I think you def use the emoticon the best ha ha!

SES - sorry to hear about your friend with the prem baby, I hope they are doing well!

LOL Tink - so I assume DD1 got to the Easter hunt ok??

Playing - sorry that you felt sad today. I guess you could look at it at just part of the process of coming to terms with your loss and dealing with it healthily as opposed to bottling it all up. So it is positive in a way, but probably doesn't feel that way. Anyway, you are doing well, and well done for talking about it. (does this make sense or am I just rambling???)

moosy - good luck with the routine! your place looks lovely on FB by the way !!

Well we had our last Tiny Talk session today which was really sad as we have been there for two terms. We had an easter bonnet competition and we did not win despite my best efforts

Also we have now been told DH's family are coming so now that all the food is sorted and ordered we have three extra people we hadn't accounted for

No seriously Im really happy they are coming!

Hello to anyone Ive missed!

GruffaloSoldier · 31/03/2010 21:20

LOL GBL that was supposed to say "she is going to have lots of fun and learn so much" sorry!

Tink - yes sorry, not really any symptoms - cramping, bloated, windy and freezing cold hands and feet??maybe thats just the bloody weather! and the other symptoms are generally what I have for AF although, not this early I didn't think? temp still going up nicely though.

I think I am 7dpo so not testing until at least 12dpo!

Moosy · 31/03/2010 23:34

Thanks Diege, I probably won't stick to it to the letter but it's something to work from. That seems to be a lot of daytime sleep though and not long between feeds, normally she only has 1-2 hours all day and goes at least 4 hours between feeds I'll see how it goes tomorrow.....

Nice to have you back here Sorky, and of course you don't have to be TTCing, I'm certainly not! I haven't had any messages from you since the one saying it was in the washer.

Glad your rellies came through in the end Gruff (pain about the food though ). Hope GC has a lovely party.

Good luck for the nursery room move GBL, I didn't realise nurseries had different rooms for different ages, makes sense I suppose!

Sorry you've been feeling blue Playing, sound advice from everyone else, I guess it's part of the process that you have downs as well as ups

Took F to the cranial osteopath today. She always lies with her head turned to the left and if I sit her up she resists bending in the middle and her head tilts to the left, also the left side of her head is going flat. The osteopath had a feel and said that she has a very tight muscle on the left side of her neck which is keeping her head down on that side and that she's very stiff all over. She worked on her for about 20 minutes and she's been a lot more flexible since then and has been looking to the right a bit more I have to go back again next week and maybe the week after that too (at £22 a go ), but she's definitely improving already

The barn's getting exciting too, 3 huuuuuuuuge window frames went in today, the glass should be ready for them next week, then there's another set going in soon, then 2 doors and it'll be weather-proof Sooooooooo excited! The For Sale board went up outside our house today too, should be on t'internet tomorrow I hope.

NatalieJane · 01/04/2010 07:32

Morning everyone

So sorry, haven't caught up at all not even last post, have been mad frantic busy, all the stuff for my course came on... Tuesday I think, I can't remember have been in haze of paper, pens and drawing boards since, not even come up for air! My friend is staying over on tomorrow, we're gonna have a girly kitchen night and a chinese, so housework is top priority today (It's a tip, not touched it since the stuff came, other than dishwashing and general tidying as you go etc. ) Also need to order food shop, we have the grand total of half a toilet roll left between the bathrooms - think DH is going to have to pick some up even before the shopping is del'ed (that's even if they can del' tomorrow with it being BH, might be full up?) And then this evening we're going to see the new house again, measuring up some of the rooms to check where the furniture will go and where the fridge/freezer will go.

But, I have got on great guns with the coursework, only got to create a logo for myself ( not entirely sure what that's got to do with ID but there you go!) 5 more reports, two more mood boards and just adding titles to the mood boards I've already done and then photocopying them and that's the first 2 assignments done I've done all of the technical drawings just need to add the logo and photocopy them all. And the essay was already done, so am pretty pleased with progress, bit scary though, once it's all done we're going to be in move mode!

Also sold the Bee, the straps were getting so tight on him, we got £317 inc P&P, and considering we paid £550 inc. the new born nest and the carseat (which are both long gone) think we did quite well! But of course now the hunt is on for a stroller that I can steer one handed, that's big enough for him, and that folds/unfolds with min. fuss - any ideas those buggy-holics out there? Don't want another proper buggy/pram type, just a lightweight Maclaren/Maclaren style type one, only reason I'm not already looking at them is because they've got the two handle thing going on, great for tipping up because --of- too much shopping, not great for one handed steering!

Arghh, am so rude, haven't even caught up and yet warbling on about me me me, sorry, if I get chance at some point today I will have a proper read through, if not, it's likely to be after the BH weekend.

Hope you all have a lovely break and Easter - Tink, don't eat all of DD's eggs at once will you?!! (Am still you can eat all that chocolate and stay so tiny!) Take care everyone xxx

maxxymoosmummy · 01/04/2010 08:17

morning all,
not been on for a while, well i have just havent had chance to post.forgot how busy you get with working, fitting everything else in too.
PLAYING sorry it got you down, but great advice as always from others smile] hope your ok now.
GRUFF good that the DHs family changed their minds, but PITA for it being so last minute with food etc.
sooo sorry cant remember anything else my mind has gone blank.
ohhhh
SES hope your friends baby and her are both doing well.
GRUFF same to your sister and her baby too.

off to my mums today, as not seen them since saturday, so taking DS to see them altho they do have him tomoro wilst im at work but ohwel haha.
work seem to be taking the piss with paying people, was meant to be payday with it being bank holiday and what a surprise we aint been paid :@

maxxymoosmummy · 01/04/2010 08:18

sorry NJ no advice on buggys really, the one i have is a nightmare to push, i want another as cant hack it haha

Starshinetiger · 01/04/2010 09:48

Hi All, sorry not getting the chance to get on here very regularly at the mo.
Playing - it must be really tough on you and I think you're coping brilliantly and that your friend's news was bound to knock you. Sending you a very un-wagonish
Nat - wow - great going on your course-work. Must be so exciting to be working on something you really enjoy (not that we'd know as you hardly ever mention it ])
MMM - glad work is going okay, but boo to not being paid, hope they get it sorted asap for you.
Moos - yay to barn windows and very of F's sleep. Neither of mind slept well at naps at 4 months old (despite DS being not a terrible sleeper at that age) - they really seemed to get the daytime napping at 5-6 months old.
Diege - have you got 7 other children coming over this weekend in addition to your 4 - Star keels over in faint!!! No wonder you need easy food in in bulk supply.
Ses - is a shame your Weds Starbucks meets are coming to an end, but sounds like you and O are still very busy!
GBL - hope DD has settled in well to next room up - sounds good that they try to keep the children with similar ages/learning developments. DS has always thrived on being around older children.
Gruff - yay to DH's family coming to DS' bday party - boo to them chopping and changing mind and mucking up food ordering.
Tink - hope DD1 got to Easter Egg Hunt okay?
Sorky - good to see you back in the wagon, hope your 4 are doing well. Did DD1 stay at school or decide it wasn't for her?
at anyone I've missed.
Am feeling a bit bad for my selfish moans about not being made redundant, seeing people leaving work this week. Might still happen, as still don't have confirmed line manager or long-term role, so will see what happens. Must buy lottery ticket this weekend
Hmm, really should do some work (think Easter feeling is kicking in early...)
The sun is shining - yay!!!!

NatalieJane · 01/04/2010 09:51

MMM, sound's like work is good, but busy!

Do you know what? After my driveling on how busy I am, I've not done anything about any of it! Well, I have ordered the shopping, got 3 kids up, dressed, fed, watered, and one out to school, and then just stopped, can't be bothered to move! Think I am going to have a read through on here what I missed, then set the laptop up to the printer (oh lord help me!) and then I'll have had enough of the laptop and feel up to the housework. Or that's the plan anyway! Right, catch up is on it's way...

Oh, is anyone else seeing a picture at the end of my last post? Have no idea where it's from, or why it's there?

gingerbreadlatte · 01/04/2010 09:53

Morning-

Playing- sorry to hear you were sad- but I think Gruff is entirely correct in her post- its part of the process really. Hope you are feeling ok today?

Gruff. Shame about the easter bonnet comp but good news for DHs family showing up for the party. That will be lovely for GC.

Sorky welcome back! hope you stick around this time. I am definately not TTCing ... well just yet anyway. I am only just finding my feet back at work. Hope you are well.

Nat- Its funny you said that about the Bee straps, we have found the same, which is a pain because it would last for ages and ages if the straps were longer. I hope we dont ahve to change it soon though. £317 is an amazing price. Was it in good condition?

Hi Moosy- hope the routine helps you out. The barn sounds fantastic. I will be so exciting when its all finished.

Hi to everyone else.

SGs first day at in the new room, apparently she cried when DH took her in. which is the first time she has ever done that.... I did ring just now and apparently she is happy now. Phew!

Better go and get on with some work.

PS anyone had any good April fools?

I particularly liked this one here

gingerbreadlatte · 01/04/2010 09:54

Rugbylovingmum · 01/04/2010 10:07

Morning all,

sorry in advance for me me me post but my brain has turned to cotton wool this morning and I can't remember what I've just read.

DD was much better yesterday - back to eating loads and just a little whingy. I can't believe how quickly they get sick and then just bounce back . We went back to the sleep training last night since she seemed well and it was a nightmare! Between 1am and 4.30am she basically just slept for 5-10 mins at a time then got restless, started moaning a bit and then cried. She finally settled at 4.30 for an hour then needed a quick pat and slept until 7.20. I am exhausted . I keep questioning myself - maybe I should feed her, maybe it's her teeth, maybe she's still ill ...... it's hard to keep going but we just have to stick with it. I'm getting so little sleep and I was feeding her 3-4 times a night but I think it's just for comfort rather than hunger. To be fair she seems restless and irritated rather than really upset or hungry. I just hope we see some improvement soon - thank god its a long weekend this week so DP can help more.

Oh yeah and the good news is DP has finally secured a transfer up north - hooray so he'll have less travel soon and will be here in the evening more often.

NatalieJane · 01/04/2010 10:24

Ah well you see it takes me 3 years to get to grips with FB, but Im good at accidently making pictures.... Really, have no idea why it's there, I haven't ever seen the picture before so it's not something saved on the laptop or anything??? Wish I could accidently link the laptop to the printer, if it were wired I could do it, but it's all wireless

OK have had only a quick skim read but here goes...

Gruff, hope your sister/DN/family are getting on OK? Roll on 12DPO!!

Tink, glad DD enjoyed herself It is sunny here, but cloud keeps billowing over, it snowed yesterday, didn't settle or anything, and then last night it hailed really badly, it looked like it had snowed by the time it'd finished.

Playing, also sorry for it catching up with you yesterday, it was bound to happen, and is likely to happen again, but as others have said, it's perfectly normal and natural. Hope today is a better day for you.

GBL, am sure the SG will be fine, she won't even remember the baby room by this time next week. Re. the Bee, yes, it was pretty much perfect condition, a couple of small scuff marks on the bottom of the frame but nothing awful. We put it on a buy it now for £295 + the P&P and a .99p start (with a £200 reserve!), put it on Saturday night at 9.15pm, it had 14 watchers by the next morning, then someone bought it Monday I think it was for the BIN price. Only accessories we had left were the raincover, the footmuff and the carseat adaptors for the Cabrio, we don't even have the DVD/instructions etc. well we do but they're in a box in the garage and I wasn't sifting through all of them just for that!

Diege, sound's like you have a weekend and a half coming up! Glad J seems to be on the mend bless him, fingers crossed he's over it this time.

Moos, the barn looks great! You must be so excited!

Star, Course work? What course work? Have no idea what you're going on about....

NatalieJane · 01/04/2010 10:30

Rugby, sorry meant to say, the house looks great! Good luck at the next viewing, did you say it's on Saturday? Second viewings always make me a little nervous, have habit of building the picture up in my head and then feel a bit let down when I see it again! Have done it with every house we've seen twice! Sound's like a tough night with DD last night, we did CC with DS2 though he was a bit older, would have done it again with DS3 in a heart beat if he'd have needed it. I am glad she is feeling better as well

Starshinetiger · 01/04/2010 10:36

Nat - I was only joking! Think it's great that you are loving the course and am very impressed at how you manage to do it with 3 children to look after and a house to run - you are SuperMum!
Will be posting photos of my kitchen on my profile soon to get your thoughts on colours for the walls, if I might be so bold!

Sorry for DD's disrupted night Rugby. It's not about being a good or bad Mum, it's about doing what's right for you and your baby. If it makes you feel any better, I had similar with DD yesterday evening and she's 1 for goodness sake! We are trying to move her onto bottles of oatmilk so we have more control over testing her for food intolerances by reintroducing them (if I'm not feeding her, what I'm eating can't affect it). Having mixed success - she will take a bottle in the evening, but still wants to feed from me afterwards then I still feed her once in night and her first thing in the morning feed. Last night she woke at 8.50pm and I thought - you can't be hungry, you had 8ozs plus a feed from me - she had really bad farts, so I think it was discomfort - each time she farted, she would snuggle in and then get uncomfortable again, eventually after 25 mins she went back off 'til 2am this morning when we had usual nappy change and feed - not sure if the heavy nappies are due to her condition, or because something is upsetting her digestion

Anyway, Rugby - that was meant to say - you are doing great! Fab news about DP's job too, will be so nice for you to be properly living together. Any news on the house?

Rugbylovingmum · 01/04/2010 11:13

Thanks NJ - I'm a bit nervous about the second viewing for just that reason! I need to calm down - even if we like it and they accept our offer it could be ages until we can move as I don't think they have a house yet. I don't know how I'm going to wait, I'm so excited.

Star - sorry you had a rough night too. Good luck with the oatmilk. Thanks for the 'good mum' comment - when I'm tired and C is a bit grumpy I start to doubt how well I'm doing. Too much time in the house doesn't help, I'm sick of this rain.

I meant to ask whether anyone fancies another northern meet-up? It would be great to see you all again before I go back to work (or afterwards if we do a weekend). I go back on 21st June so hopefully we will get some sunny weather by then . I promise to be less grumpy then .

Rugbylovingmum · 01/04/2010 11:33

Hee hee - just seen rabbit on another thread too - they love chocolate easter eggs.

tinkhastwoeasterbunnies · 01/04/2010 12:03

hello bookmarking

NatalieJane · 01/04/2010 13:55

LOL Star, if you'd have seen the state of the house you'd have seen that looking after the house didn't happen, honestly, am flaberghasted at how much mess there was, and it has only been two days, and it's not as if I hadn't done anything at all, I'd still cleared the toys up and sorted dishwashing sort of tidied, just hadn't moved things that get left where ever they drop, sorted post, picked up the dirty washing that seems to multiply on my floors, etc. Infact, writing that makes me realise just how bloody lazy they all are and am starting to get a bit cross - Best change the subject methinks!! Will happily nosy look at your kitchen Think that's one of the best bit's to do with this job, getting to see people's houses, it's like live Through the Keyhole!

Rugby, am dissapointed, seems they were doing the rabit/eggs for April Fools, was hoping they were doing it for Easter and they'd stick around for a while, oh well!

Still got to link the laptop and printer (can you tell I'm putting it off till DH gets chance?) DH is so much better at these things than me, I get confuddled with the tv remote, he just does it in a sort of 'superhuman, brilliant with these things' sort of way. (Incase anyone wonders, I am hoping he'll read this over my shoulder at some point and do it for me!! Big hint there Lee if you happen to be ogling my MN when you think I don't know you're looking ) He's so good with a lot of things, like when he puts the bins out(!), and when he erm... I give up, can't grovel anymore, go and bloody do it already will you please?!

Does the Wagon think it will work?

No, nor me...

Playingatmotherhood · 01/04/2010 14:46

Hi All,

Thanks for your kind words. I realised it would happen at some point, think as everyone said its a natural part of getting over it. Feeling much better about it today, although not sure what it will be like when she comes round for dinner on Monday. I think its more the dissapointment that I'm not having a baby in October. It was so perfect; a first term of school birthday, not too close to xmas, not too close to E's birthday, a small but not tiny gap, first trimester while E still has 2 naps a day so I can rest, summer time arriving in time to make dealing with the inevitable back/spd pain easier (lazy afternoons in garden) etc etc. It was almost like it was planned that way . I think it was easy until now to just think "oh well whats a few more months" but when confronted with someone else having a baby in October it makes me want to stamp my feet and have a paddy because that what I wanted! Plus, it would have been so nice to have been pg with someone else. Well, it just wasn't meant to be and maybe I still need a bit more time to resign myself to that, or maybe I won't till I get pg again, who knows, I just need patience.

Nat - you're always cleaning, I bet yor house is far cleaner than mine. Oh and what a great price for your buggy. Can't recommend a light weight buggy though as I am still using my bugaboo and loving it. I'll be sad to stop using it when there's 2 kids!

Rugby - I agree with Star regarding sleep. Oh and fantastic news on DPs job

Star sorry to hear you are struggling with DD. Hope it gets better soon.

GBL - sure things will settle down with SG soon. Hope she had a better day today.

Moosy - I saw the windows on fb, they look fab. Glad the osteo is having some benefits for DD.

Gruff - good luck with the party. Hope it goes ok.

Hi anyone I've missed.

Might not be on here that much over Easter so wanted to wish everyone a very happy Easter break and hope you all get some nice quality family time.
