Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
essenceofSES · 24/04/2010 21:11

Great shoe shopping all round then

Had a lovely afternoon. Got together with all our NCT buddies for a joint 1st birthday party. We had a Jo Jingles party and then a bbq.

Feeling v tired now as I worked this morning as well and was up for an hour in the night with O!

Diege - hope you're relaxing now (and MIL has gone!) I've still never been to Nandos! Must go sometime!
Sorry for teething problems. Hope you get a better night tonight.

Tink - hope DD2's teething improves too. Sounds like you had a lovely day.

LG&T - I am in awe of how you manage whilst pg and with your DH away! "We are not worthy chant"!!

tinkhasaspringinherstep · 25/04/2010 09:09

morning ladies

ses - hi

off food shopping today

Diege · 25/04/2010 09:51

Morning . Rain just stopped here and sun's come out - will hopefully stay as have promised dd1 and ds trip to park this afternoon. Dd3 and dd2 going to a party/friend's house respectively.
Your afternoon yesterday sounded lovely SES - what did the Jo Jingles party entail?
Feeling very 'periody' here, lots of cramping, so could go either way I think! Af not due till Friday, so a little early for obvious af pains (in fact I don't normally get them anyway)but entering that 'what have a done/are we mad' phase anyway and tbh would be quite relieved to see a bfn at the moment
Hope everyone is well - I'm aiming to list loads on e-bay today when I get the chance. Got to get some funds back into my purse after yesterday's splurge!

essenceofSES · 25/04/2010 10:47

Morning!

Hope food shopping goes ok tink. Are you taking DDs? Hope there's minimal squabbling!

Diege - JJ party was basically a JJ session but we could choose which songs, instruments, etc. We had the woman that leads our usual sessions so she hung around a bit afterwards which was nice and led us all in a round of Happy Birthday when we cut the cake. It's normally £75 for an hour for up to 14 children but as ours were all quite joung, she did about 45mins for £65 and we spread the cost between the 6 of us. She was probably there for a couple of hours altogether though!
It was all a bit of a rush for us to get there yesterday after I got back from work so I didn't take any photos but I'm hoping to get some emailed from the others.

Off to my parents' in a bit with O. They don't know about his new walking skill yet so I'm hoping he'll demonstrate! He did manage another 4 steps twice yesterday.

GruffaloSoldier · 25/04/2010 11:41

Morning all!

sorry I didn't manage to get on yesterday! manic day!

had a shopping spree yesterday - 2 bras, 2 pairs of 3/4 length trousers, 2 tops for me and 2 new outfits for GC and a pair of swim shorts. Also got him 4 t-shirts from next for him. was good

then me and DH made a lovely chilli con carne (combined effort) and it was bloody good!

Diege - LOL at dream! DH saw a dead adder on the side of the road on the way to work the other day! we have seen quite a few snakes round here in the last few years!

And as for symptoms - snap with cramps, also been very irritable with DH!oops.also had a funny coloured what looked like EWCM this morning and still funny pains in boobs. hmmmm....

Ses - party sounds good

Tink - enjoy the shopping!

Hello everyone else.

DN is in hospital (sis is with him) as he keeps stopping breathing if you could keep him in your thoughts/prayers I'd be very grateful. My poor sis just wants them to be back home.

Diege · 25/04/2010 13:35

SES your party sounds great, esp as cost was split, and a perfect way to celebrate first birthdays.
GRUFF, I'm so sorry about dn I know it can be common in premature babies (I remember one of my friend's twins being taken in regularly)but it must be one of the scariest things in the world to have it happen to your baby. I will be thinking of dn and his family xx On a more positive note, your symptoms sound very good indeed; I too have been very snappy, crampy, and also quite lightheaded. I am thinking Wednesday for testing.
It is throwing it down here,so looks like afternoon outing is off . This weather really teases us doesn;t it?

essenceofSES · 25/04/2010 14:27

Hello Gruff! Sorry your DN has been back in hospital. Thinking of him your DSIS and you all.

Diege - Wednesday as a testing day would be great as I'm not at work so could lurk for a honk (or 2 Gruff?!)

GruffaloSoldier · 25/04/2010 15:03

Thanks no news yet but my other sister is there and my Dad is going to visit them too (after stopping by here for a cuppa!) so that will be good for them all.

we are seeing them week after next so I will probably leave them be.

Ses - i think I will be testing Sunday if I can wait that long!LOL!

nice day here. sorting lots out, so been doing tidying. feels good!

Diege · 25/04/2010 15:21

Good to have a sort-out GRUFF, very cathartic!
Hvae realised that I have early work starts Tues/weds so will have Thursday instead as Testing Day (cd 28). Agaon, like Gruff not sure I'll last out that long!

essenceofSES · 25/04/2010 15:30

DH has just taken the dogs and DS for a walk. He says he'll be about an hour and I said I'd sort out all the old clothes in the spare room (ones too small for DS and ones potentially too small for me from pre-pg )

I must get off MN and go and do my sorting!

Maybe Wednesday could be the early testing day?!

Diege · 25/04/2010 15:32

Well maybe a sneaky one weds evening, with thurs am backup??
Good luck on sorting; my sorting day is tomorrow

I think we need a kebabbabbi van ajoined to the wagon . Hope you don;t feel too bad tomorrow NAT

Rugbylovingmum · 25/04/2010 22:16

Hi all,

my internet connection has been crap for the last week or so - it just keeps dropping off the network . I haven't been able to get onto mn and I've just had a quick read through so sorry if I miss anything major.

Playing - congrats . I'm so pleased for you. Hope you've had a good weekend.

LGT - congratulations!!!

Diege and Gruff - I have my fingers crossed for you both. What an exciting week on the wagon. I'm loving all the symptom spotting .

Ses - hooray for O's first steps! The pics of him on fb are so cute but I can't believe he is almost 1 already .

Nat - congratulations - that is fantastic . You have def found the right career for you! How is the packing going?

Tink - hope your arms aren't aching after all your hard work today! That activity table looks good.

Gruff - sorry your DN has been in hospital, it must be very frightening. I hope he is home soon.

Gyo - I hope you have an easier time at work this week, 20 e-mails a day sounds mad. GC sounds like she is really keen to get going now she is mobile . It's funny the way they don't seem to do anything new for a while then suddenly seem to learn something new every day IYKWIM.

We've had a lovely weekend. Yesterday we had an NCT BBQ to say goodbye to one of the couples who are moving down south. It's sad to see them go but hopefully they will visit often. It was a fab day for it and the babies seemed to enjoy sitting under the gazebo stealing each others toys . This afternoon when the sun came out we walked along the riverside path and gave DD her first tiny taste of icecream - she was and totally unimpressed . She has just started sucking her toes which is cute when she is lying down but hilarious when she is sitting . She has only just started sitting unsupported this weekend so she is fairly wobbly without trying to get her foot to her mouth .

Rugbylovingmum · 25/04/2010 22:28

Oh yeah, forgot to say the bank is being a complete pain about our mortgage. They seem to be completely confused by my maternity pay and my bonus and keep asking for loads of stupid paperwork to prove how much I'll earn when I go back (e.g. I had to write a letter swearing I would be going back to work after my ML). The annoying thing is when we applied just using DPs wage they said we need an extra £21 income a month to meet their requirements so we only need £21 a month from my job but they still say I haven't proved I'll earn that [hmmm]. They have now taken my child benefit letter as proof I have enough income [hmmm]. Anyway they should have everything now so please keep your fingers crossed it goes for valuation tomorrow.

NatalieJane · 26/04/2010 08:03

and (The goes for you too Diege!)

Rugby, oooh, exciting/nerve wracking day for you, very good luck with it, they don't try to make it easy do they? DD sound's very cute! Glad you had a good weekend.

Hope everyone had a good weekend, we did! Well sort of, was supposed to be going to see my bestest sister in Cheltenham yesterday but DS3 has been a bit poorly, nothing major but didn't want to pass it on, he slept Saturday for about half an hour in the morning (not unlike him) then he went back to bed at 2.30 (very unlike him!) slept till 7.30, I left him thinking he must have needed it, then he went to bed for the night at just gone 10, later than usual but obviously he'd had a long sleep, and I was expecting him up in the night, but he didn't wake up till 7.30 yesterday morning. He has a really sore throat, not much you can do for it

Right, really must go and get ready, not even done his lunch yet! Will be back later no doubt!

GiraffeYoga · 26/04/2010 08:39

Quick hi before the madness starts (having said that I've been here since 7- but before the others arrive!)

Gruff- sorry to hear of DNeph. I hope the hospital helps. My thoughts are definately with you all.

Shopping spree sounds great we did similar on saturday, went to get the SG some summer tops for nursery. They seems to get trashed so quickly with food stains and she is getting too hot in long sleeve tops now so we got her a pile of t-shirts.

Ses- party sounds fab and photos look great on FB Sorry for commenting about pregnancy potential... I am not sure why I thought of it... TBH, we've had similar issue relating to lack of occurence of the events that lead to BFPs...Think its not uncommon really. I am not sure how some people manage to fit it in several times a week!

Hi Rugby, great news for the sitting up

Nat- how is your head today?

LG&T sorry for the continued feeling rough, seems unfair that you start feeling sick so early.

How are the others waiting to test? do we need a list?

We managed to have BBQ at the weekend which was great fun, and it didnt rain.

Oh, and I did my last BF for the SG on friday night! I just thought thats it, it is time to stop and did. She took a bottle no issue so thats that. Will now try and move her to a cup for that feed in the next couple of months then I can get rid of the bottles completley. Feel so mixed about it. Feel free but also sad, glad I kept going after going back to work though (thanks again Star!!)

Taking SG for her 12mth jabs today so leaving work early WOOOHOOO!

Hi Tink and everyone else

Sorry for everyhting I've missed.

Will try and lurk today

NatalieJane · 26/04/2010 09:00

So sorry, in my drunken state error, I didn't read up last night,

Gruff, really sorry to hear your DN has been poorly, it is quite common with prems, didn't Ruby have similar problems at the beginning? Of course will be keeping you all in my thoughts.

Ses, party sounds very fun! And GY's right, the photo's look great!

Tink, Diege, Gruff and GY, very good shopping! Only shopping we've done was a small food and wine and kebabbabbi top up shop and we got DS3's highchair, so much easier!

GY, hope SG's jabs go OK, always that feeling of dread in the pit of your tummy when it's jab time. Am sure you've made the right decision re. the BF, everyone is different, and when you know it's time, it's time. Head is fine thank you, never get hangover just tired if it's been a late one, but we were in bed for midnight so not too bad!

Playingatmotherhood · 26/04/2010 09:21

Morning all,

Gruff - hope you have good news on your DN, my thoughts and prayers are with her and all your family.

Ses - party soudns great

Nat - love your drunken post

GY - understand that moving on feels like leaving the baby days behind and is a little sad but it will be fab to get your body back.

Rugby - glad they seem to have finally sorted the mortgage out and fingers crossed for the valutation

Tink - think the table looks lovely.

Well, I have resisted testing again but will probably do so tomorrow/weds as I do want to see a stronger line. Then thats it, I'm not going to keep testing as even if the worst happens again i know now that I'll still get a BFP. Normally I test weekly till about 8 weeks .

Had a lovely weekend here. 2 BBQs on Saturday at different friends houses which was a little manic but still rather nice. Got rumbled instantly at the first one (she knew about the mc) by simply saying "actually I'm quite thirsty I think I'll have a soft drink" she knew I classed Pimms as a soft drink so wasn't likely to turn a glass of that down . The second bbq, no one said a word but I could tell they knew but were being too polite to ask.

No way I'll be able to keep this one a secret as all my close friends know about the mc so I think they're all desperate for me to get pg again so they'll be watching for the second I turn down a cup of tea or drink. Decided that I don't really mind about telling people anyhow now, I've told everyone about the mc, so if it does happen again I'm gonna tell them, so they might as well know about the pg.

tinkhasaspringinherstep · 26/04/2010 09:41

morning

nat - ye for drink have a good day

playing - no more testing

hi to everyone else

how many weeks r u playing

hi diege

mum over from 10am today till 3pm tom

dark and cloudy here

Diege · 26/04/2010 10:05

Morning! Glad there's no hangover NAT - was giggling about your post as I went to bed last night
PLAYING, I agree with TINKS, stop testing!!! That's the beauty of the cb digitals I suppose - pregnant or not pregnant!(though I do think the conception indicator ones are a nervous breakdown waiting to happen - just read some of the panics on the preg threads about people going 'backwards' in wks, when things are actually fine - as my mw says, if they were that good they'd have them in place of early scans - right, rant over). Your weekend sounds very busy, though good - I follwo your logic about telling people too - I'll bet people are over the moon for you
RUGBY, what nutters those mortgage people are . Really hope you get things resolved today! Your weekend sounds blissful too by the river, can just imagine it.
TINKS, enjoy your day with your mum - agree with others, table great, but will you be able to resist buying again if she's getting it early?
GIRAFFE, enjoy your early finish, and hope jabs go ok. I'm doing the same weds with dd3 (pre-school booster straight after work)- trust me, the younger they are, the easier it is!
Right, it's cd 25 here in the Diege house...still mamaged to hold off testing, though getting the odd mad impulse every hour or so couple of days to test. Has helped thatn they are now stashed under the bed and not just next to loo New symptoms include very sensitive sense of smell (esp garlic, the toilet after dh's morning visit , the fridge...) Cramps very bad yesterday, but just a sort of heaviness today; coffee losing its appeal too..I tell you, if I'm not pg I will never trust my body again..
Working from home today, more mw interviews tomorrow, and then interviewing students weds, so most of day off work-based slog today.

Diege · 26/04/2010 10:06

Oh and PLAYING we need a due date for you!!!

Playingatmotherhood · 26/04/2010 10:39

I'm being good on the testing front, only done 2. I've got one left so I might as well do it as I would like to see a proper strong line but I will leave it at that.

I would say I am between 4-5 weeks. EDD 30/12 - 1/1.

Deige - really doesn sound good symptom wise!
