hi ladies here is our new thread

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
NatalieJane · 22/04/2010 20:44

I didn't "'hav it"! Good bloody job too, DS2 fell down the stairs earlier, seemed OK after initial scream, now he has a lovely big black eye, would have looked good wouldn't it?! DH coming home, me on the vino and poor G with a black eye! Also since he is so late home, and we've both had very hard days it seems only fair that I go to the takeaway, mmm prawn toast, t'is the only thing stopping me having a glass! Don't know if I told you all but a new chinese takeaway opened up in the village, it does prawn toast, other one doesn't, have been very good and only had it once since it opened so think that's another good excuse to have one!

Sound's like you're deffo set up and ready to go with a number 5 Diege, I am one of 5, DH is one of 5, it's good fighting practise fun!

Playingatmotherhood · 23/04/2010 09:18

Morning all,

got a very faint BFP this morning, came up in about 60 secs and does have a little colour so am reasonably certain its not an evap line but it is really really faint. So, of course I can't really believe it, meaning that my idea of just getting the one test so I don't keep testing is going to fail spectacularly, as I will be out later buying more tests and keep testing till I see proper line.

Nat - i agree with Deige, your post are exhausting me just reading them. Hope DS2 is ok this morning.

Deige - its sounding good on the symptoms front

NatalieJane · 23/04/2010 09:49

A very quietly whispered congrats is in order methinks Playing Doesn't sound like an evap line to me

DS2 is fine, it's not come out quite as bad as I thought it would after yesterday, it's a perfect circle around his eye, you know like on cartoons when they show a bruise? Just like that! Think I am going to leave his hair cut till next week, it's giving a bit of coverage at the moment!

Am going to bottom out the house, move all the furniture and hoover under it, clean the windows, get the feather duster out and go round the ceilings see how many cobwebs I can get! Will save a bit of time when we come to move out, though most of it will need doing again no doubt by then! DS1 has decided he doesn't want to pack his room up, so that needs doing, though won't take long, and then, I am going to sort through the toys, get the broken beyond repair ones out, pack up a lot of them and just leave a few favs out, it's only a couple of weeks, they'll have to live without.

So if I am on here before this evening, kick me out!

Diege · 23/04/2010 09:54

PLAYING that's great news!!!! . A line is a line, and all that . You should have honked dammit! I think it's a very positive result as I know (just based on my own experience) that 30 secs is a very good time scale to see even a faint line. My first 'lines' have been ones that I've obsessively retrieved from the bin 3 hrs later, then gradually darken over next week. So pleased for you, you really deserve it
Still got my symptoms here - sore boobs, mega indigestion, waking at 3am last night boiling hot. Bad cramps last night too, but fine now. I really am going to hold out till end of last week though - think I'd rather see af than a neg!

NatalieJane · 23/04/2010 10:00

What's your instinct Diege? You've had enough practice It's sounding good written down.

(OK OK, I'm going to do all of that above when I move!)

Diege · 23/04/2010 10:08

My instinct says yes, but my instincts are seriously crap most of the time

NatalieJane · 23/04/2010 10:20

Ah, instinct, it's always right sometimes

Right need to get off scrabble and get on with my list, in a little little little while...!

Playingatmotherhood · 23/04/2010 10:56

Thanks guys . I'm trying not to get too over excited, I want to see a proper line first.

Nat I love the fact you say "if I am on here before this evening, kick me out!" and 10 mins later you post again

Deige it does sound positive. I have been quietly trying to dismiss all my symptoms this month as "hormone is overdrive" or a crazy post mc cycle but even doing that I couldn't quite stop myself thinking that I might be pg. For me at least symptoms are pretty obvious and I don't get them normally.

tinkhasaspringinherstep · 23/04/2010 11:12

Playingatmotherhood · 23/04/2010 11:18

Hi Tink,

Sorry no Tripp Trapp advice to offer although my friend has a similar but slightl cheaper JL version which she likes.

I use a handysitt . They do a chair thing now for them (although I don't have that). Probably overpriced but as I used to work for the company that distributes them I got mine free, so am not sure what they actually cost. I do love mine though as I can take it anywhere I go, it looks smart on our chairs and can be used from weaning as a highchair through to a booster seat for an older child.

NatalieJane · 23/04/2010 12:12

Sorry Tink also no Tripp Trapp advice.

Just got my marking sheets back for the first two assignments. There are 18 different criteria they mark over the two assignments, and there are 3 levels, level 1, you need to redo the work, level 2, same as GCSE, level 3, same as A level. I got level 3 for each and every one of the 18 points! Feels like when I passed my driving test!

I can't believe it, I was thinking first assignments, first time I've studied anything for 10+ years, and it is tricky not being with someone who knows what they're doing to lead the way, was just hoping I'd not have to do any of it again and so I'd at least get a level 2, but level 3?!!!! Oh my goodness me, my head is growing bigger by the second!

tinkhasaspringinherstep · 23/04/2010 12:13

have decided to go for 2 mothecare ones aboue
i assume they can use them @ a round table 2
going to sell dd1s wooden dolls house and wooden kitchen to get the money as neither r played with
will put them in paper later

tinkhasaspringinherstep · 23/04/2010 12:16

wow nat good girl your hard work has paid off

what do your dds sit in @ meal times

NatalieJane · 23/04/2010 12:21

DS1 and 2 just normal chairs, DS3 is still in his highchair, it's a Hauck Up 'n' Down or something it was called. It is one of the big heavy padded ones, am thinking I might change it though just for a cheap plastic one from Ikea, Antilop it's called. I am sick of cleaning the pads on his, and I don't like the idea of the wooden ones

Can't believe it - LEVEL 3!!!!

NatalieJane · 23/04/2010 12:41

By the way should point out that I don't think there is anything wrong with the wooden ones, I just don't like the idea!

Diege · 23/04/2010 12:57

Wow NAT V well done . I'm not suprised you did so well tbh after all the hard work and your obvious talent. Def wine time tonight
Re: highchairs, I've got a wooden one - nightmare - actually ok to keep clean but they've all slid all over the place in them and ds still needs a cushion at the back so that he doesn;t slip down. Cost a bomb so have used for dd3 and ds2 despite it being so rubbish (style over substance as dh is constantly reminding me )Handitsit thingies - I think we had a one with dd1 - worked well if I remember, esp when out and about/
Oh and PLAYING if I may pry, what symptoms did/do you have??

NatalieJane · 23/04/2010 13:20

See that's the bit that I was unsure on: "obvious talent", it's one thing thinking that I can do it, it's another thing having someone that is working in the business (All of the tutors are working ID's) telling you you can do it! The comments she has written "good", "great", "fantastic", "well done", "brilliant start to the course", "great use of imaging", "you've shown great understanding of the schemes", "you should proud" god I could on!

This is it, this is what I've been waiting for, someone who knows saying I'm good enough for this. If these next two assignments go the same way, I am set for life - literally - the first four assignments kind of cover everything, the rest of the course is about focussing on one project from start to finish, with the last bit being to do with the business side of things.

So once I've got the marking sheets back for these next two, I'll know I've got the understanding under my belt for sure, the rest of it, well, that's where my imagination/creativity/whatever comes into full play.

I am still a bit gobsmacked. Would love to know how other people's first two assignments went !!

Diege · 23/04/2010 13:27

And NAT as a tutor myself we don't give 'top band' marks away on a whim. There's an invisible border between the 'very good' and 'excellent',and if you get top band marks it really is outstanding (ie, if we're in doubt we give high into the second band). Having said that, don't be disheartened if your marks drop a little somewhere along the line - everyones do (even those getting top marks at end)and it's the high acheivers that do struggle when this happens. You must be on top of the world! A good day on the wagon - Playing's BFP and NAT's world domination!

NatalieJane · 23/04/2010 13:39

I am quite expecting them to drop when we get to the window dressings, I know in my own mind I'm not hot on them, kind of a case of that I know what looks nice, and what doesn't, but I've no idea about how you'd go about designing them from scratch! Probably because I can't sew, can't follow a pattern, don't know what fabric is suitable for what, etc. etc. etc.

Will be many late night reading benders when it comes the time!

But hey, when I get through the courses and am obviously rich and famous the world over(!), I'll team up with some fancy-pants curtain designer, and problem solved

www.mothercare.com/dp/B002GIYV2C/280-4964972-9607546?_encoding=UTF8&mcb=core#customerReviews

getting these like the tripp trapp but alot cheaper

dd1 needs something so she be comfy and reach table
getting sick of dd2s messy highchair

only way to afford then is to sell dolls house and toy kitchen

NatalieJane · 23/04/2010 13:54

I have got two nutcases on my hands here, they are both stood up next to each other, legs apart and head on floor, so they are bent double, taking it in turns to smack each others bums, playfully obviously, really giggling their head's off. One, or both, of them is going to go head over heels in a minute!

Playingatmotherhood · 23/04/2010 15:25

Well got a FR test from town. Still faint but a def BFP. I like those tests cos they're pink so you know its not an evap line.

Nat - I thought we were supposed to be kicking you off if you came on here too early but as its such fantastic news I'll let you off. Well done you

Deige - course I don't mind. Sore boobs are the big give away for me as is the metallic taste in my mouth that comes and goes in early pg that I am having off and on. The other symptoms are not exclusively pg ones but I do tend to always get them, which are an uncomfortable stomach (both low down but also higher up) accompanied by bloating and I also tend to sleep poorly partly due to being hot in bed and maybe as a consequence or possible due to pg I get tired very easily. I normally get period type cramps too but haven't had them this time. Maybe its just a bit too early yet.

Tink - that lookes very much like the one my friend has and really likes

GruffaloSoldier · 23/04/2010 15:26

Hello all!

ooooooh playing sounds exciting!! quiet congrats

Diege sounds promising!

I hope I will be joining you both!but who knows?! shooting pains in boobs, cramps (quite strong) headaches, and ahem...funny feeling in my fanjo and up my bum?? oh and cm has not dried up ??quite similar to last month though

NAT - I have the ANTELOP from Ikea and so does GY and a bunch of other people I know - LOVE IT !!!!! GC has always loved it. sooo easy to clean -- could do it with my eyes closed Oh and good work!!

Tink - I dont know about mothercare ones but Stokke ones are great!
