hi ladies here is our new thread

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Diege · 20/04/2010 19:54

ooh LG&T that sounds rather dramatic and a tad nervewrecking, esp as you weren't ttc! I think you weren;t 100% certain that no.7 would be your last though, am I right? Are you feeling nauseous already? (my sickness starts at abouy 4.5 weeks so feel your pain) Many congrats again!
My boobs have gone really sore again and have quite bad period type pains too, though very much on and off...
Right, better tidy kitchen; looks like a bomb's hit it

largeginandtonic · 20/04/2010 19:58

Come on Diege we could be prg buddies

I think we had decided sort of that next year we would have another. Not this year of hell though!! Life is what you make of it.

Am head round it and happy now, if not a little nervous.

How long before you can test Diege?

maxxymoosmummy · 20/04/2010 20:19

LG&T congratulations does seem like a real shock. been to see the parents before they go away tomoro but feel awful again now so led in bed nice and warm and going to sleep shortly ( well trying my best to )

Diege · 20/04/2010 20:25

I'm trying my best LG&T though had only a feeble ttc attempt this month...Af would be due around the 29th April, so a while yet before testing. In fact I must get some e-bay cheapies in . Wouldn't it be great if you, me, PLAYING and GRUFF were all pregnancy buddies . TBH in an ideal world we would have waited a year or so, but I'm 40 in May so taking that into consideration too. You're def right about life being what you make it!
MMM you sound cosy and warm MMM! Let's hope you have a really good sleep and wake up a lot better.
Right, off to browse at Isabella Oliver do the bottles...

essenceofSES · 20/04/2010 20:42

LG&T - must have been a bit of a shock indeed! Hope you don't feel too rough.

My brother has just posted this "joke" on his FB status...
"Got to the cash till at Iceland with a trolley full of frozen and was asked if I wanted "'ash back"...!! (should've gone to Sainsbury's!!)"
I would apologise but it did make me chuckle!

Not so funny for those caught up in it all. I know someone stuck in Oz who was meant to be home last wkend, someone stuck here who was meant to be going to Oz for 4 weeks last wkend and someone that made it halfway here from Oz. She had a stopover in Malaysia and then couldn't get any further. This morning she just caught a flight back to Oz.
All v frustrating!

I'm feeling quite rough now so am going to head off to bed and hope the ABs kick in overnight.

Morning! Sorry to hear you and ds are still feeling rubbish MMM; might be worth popping back to GP as it does seem to be lingering?
Another 5am start here, though no doubt caused by the bright early mornings. Does seem to mirror my last pregnancy though re: early wakings during 2 ww!
Leaving shortly to do another midwife interview at the hospital..feels weird being surrounding by pregnancy in my work, and then thinking about it when I'm not there!

Hope DS is okay MMM - is horrid when they're ill.
Not been on for ages as having a manic week, but lurked a bit. Ooh, that reminds me - Congrats LG&T!! Hope you're not feeling too rough! Sounds like there could be a few more to follow (can't seem to get square brackets to do emoticons on my phone). Am on train, will try to get on later to do bettercatch up!

NatalieJane · 22/04/2010 09:21

Hello everyone

Firstly huge congrats to LG&T - wow! Mikey is 2 days after xmas day, not been a problem so far, except the obvious empty purse (and bank accounts, and money boxes..! )

Right everyone else, sorry not been around, and I've not really caught up properly, just went back to LG&T's announcement, so it seems there are a few important test days coming up for a few of you, best of luck to you all!

I have been doing as much of my course as I can, so that come the other side of the move I will hopefully not have too much to do to get it in by the deadline, if I have to extend it then I will, but would rather not do. Don't know when I was last on, but I sent off the first two assignments, still waiting to get the marking sheets back, am feeling a bit nervous of it, it's kind of make or break, if it's good then I am on the right track, if it's bad then oh my goodness me we've spent ££££'s for nothing!

So we pick the keys up Tuesday after next, then we're moving in the following Saturday. We seem to have inherited their rabbit for a week (can see the kid's letting that one go!) and their goldfish for keeps I did tell her every fish we ever had died, she didn't seem too bothered!

I am going to start the packing today, has been on my mind all week but still haven't actually done any Although, after 2-ish years without one, had huge migraine attack that started Monday and still feels a bit odd now, not hurting anymore but just empty spaceness! You forget how bad they can be, couldn't move without being sick, Monday night I couldn't sleep at all because the thumping was too loud, Tuesday I slept from 8.30pm - 6.30am the next morning! But, it is more or less over with now, must have been playing catch up for having a couple of years off!

Right, this is likely to be the last time I get on, get the feeling once I start the packing I'm going to realise just how much there is to do and we're not going to stop till we move, doesn't help that we've no weekend's, this weekend, Saturday DH is working in the morning, afternoon we need to get the boys haircut, Sunday we're going down to my sister's in Cheltenham for the day, then the next weekend DH is on call the whole weekend including the bank holiday Monday, so it is basically me packing up the whole house on my own

And true to form I have waffled again, oh well, you all have a break from me for a couple of weeks+! Good luck to everyone testing, looking forward to all the news when I get back, and hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine, supposed to be getting quite warm at the weekend, 20 degrees DH said!

Take care everyone x

tinkhasaspringinherstep · 22/04/2010 11:23

hi nat - chatty one lol

good luck with all the packing i hate it!!
yep enjoying sun here
we went to teddy club bracken luved loads of soft play things, balls and a bouny castele
she didnt stop moving
i sold swing last nite and have 2 things on ebay

Diege · 22/04/2010 12:31

Hello! Good to hear from you NAT, and good-luck with moving (I'm sure I sent you the same sentiment not too long ago!). Just have lots of lists, do it in little bits (with treats to reward you after each 'bit' in done) and be prepared for the point at which you say 'F&*k it' and shove everything into the back of the car
MMM really hope ds is ok and rash is nothing serious. Let us know how you got on when you get the time
TINKS, sounds a lovely day with dd2. Sunny here too!
OK, daily symptom update...woke up yet again at 5am...have lots of EWM..indigestion etc etc. E-bay cheapy tests also arrived today, and have ignored the 'can be used 6 days after ov' bit and am staunchly holding out now until at least this time next week before testing. Big worried as there's a case of hand, foot and mouth (fifth's disease) at nursery, which would be a worry if dd3 or ds got it and I was pregnant, but it was in a different group to them and was spotted very quickly by staff (they are sterilising all the rooms today). Arghh, worry worry before I've even got a bfp!
Good to hear from you STAR - are we tempting you with all out ttc talk?
Oh and isn't PLAYING meant to be testing around now??

NatalieJane · 22/04/2010 13:12

I am back! See, I can put you all off for so long, give in, then you don't get rid of me for ages!

I have packed the dining room and my course stuff (not doing anymore now till after we've moved) plan is now to make up 1 box for each room, we're going to cheat a bit and leave certain things in drawers (clothes etc.) and because most of the things are still packed up from last time, apart from the toys and the kitchen I don't think we'll need much more than 1 box for each room downstairs and maybe 2 boxes per room upstairs.

I just can't wait, can't wait for the keys, can't wait for the space, can't wait (though dreading it at the same time!) to get it all unpacked and actually fit in a house for the first time since DS2 was born!

Just need to be careful that I don't go and fill it up again! We do need to buy a couple of things, a fridge/freezer, a sofa (have seen gorgeous corner sofa thing!) for our evening retreat, and some of those big plastic tubs on wheels things for the playroom, oh and DS1's bedroom furniture needs replacing this year, it's starting to really fall apart, don't know if it's going to survive the move actually!

Just shows how overcrowded we are here, we'll be going from a small 3 bed/2 reception roomed house to a big 4 bed/6 reception roomed house and only need to really get a corner sofa, furniture wise!

There are obviously a few other things that I'd like to get eventually, I have some old fashioned gorgeous crystal glasses, (wine, champagne, whiskey, tall tumblers and brandy incase anyone want's to know, they are simply devine dahhhhrling!) that used to be in the kitchen glass cupboards at our old house, but we've nowhere to show them off, so I do want to get a dresser of some sort to go in the dining room, and the upstairs bathroom could do with some sort of old old old sideboard or something to hold towels, am thinking like an old French amoire thingy with glass doors, but again, it's more 'want' than 'need'.

See am waffling again, anything that stops the onslaught of the packing! - Diege, problem is with the Zafira, we can probably get the whole house in the back of it! I'd not need to pack anything!! Now that's an idea...!

Playingatmotherhood · 22/04/2010 14:13

Afternoon all,

Nice to see you back Nat, it was far too quiet on here without you . Sounds like you've got the packing all under control and your not going to know what to do with yourself in that massive house!

Deige, yes I did say I was probably going to test but I haven't yet and tbh I am only due AF yesterday/today/tomorrow, its CD39 for me today. Don't really feel pg, I have had some symptoms but nothing definative and both other times I just knew, so I'm not convinced and dreading seeing a BFN. Will try and remember to save fmu tomorrow morning and test, if I forget I will wait till Sat as I only bought one test and don't want to waste it.

MMM - hope you're feeling better and that M was ok in the end.

Hello everyone else who is lurking

NatalieJane · 22/04/2010 15:28

Right that is all of my books, shoes and bags, have left out a couple of pairs of "toe thongs" (hate that saying, what's wrong with good old fashioned flip flops?!) beaded type things and some heels, you watch now, bet it pisses down for the next 2 weeks! It'll probably be snowing actually knowing my luck!

I've done our bedroom except the clothes in the wardrobes, hair dryer etc. and a couple of pictures that will need wraping in bubblewrap of which we have none yet!

DS1 has done nothing but moan about how I packed his things last time so he is doing his own room this time, so that's done.

DS2 and 3's room is just clothes (that are staying in the drawers) so need to empty the clothes out of the wardrobes (can't do yet, they need stuff to wear!), and the rest is just toys that are already in plastic tub things, I'll be buggered if I'm putting them into boxes just to tip them back into the plastic tubs!!

Living room, there are a couple of pictures, but most of the bits and bobs are still packed from last time, and then more toys that I can't really pack up, they'd drive me crazy if they had no toys out!

Dining room is done.

My office stuff is done, and I've just done all of the house paper work type stuff.

Can't do kitchen and bathrooms yet obviously.

All the CD's, DVD's, Wii games, kids books, board games etc. are all still packed except a few favourites.

I'm not sure what else I can do. The fun bit is going to be the dismantling of the beds and some of the bigger furniture, but can't do any of that till we're ready to go out the door.

Am stuck.

Tell you what though, for all my cleaning that never seems to end, we're living in a hovel, the dust bunnies on the books were more like dust elephants, and all the paper work was spread all over the house. I moved the dining table to the wall in the dining room so I could pile the boxes in there and you should have seen the state of the carpet underneath

Diege · 22/04/2010 16:37

NAT I feel physically shattered reading about your packing (is that a symptom? )You've done amazingly well though in such a short space of time. I've read good thin gs about those robo thingies too, though not good with objects/toys/stray socks etc hence easier for someone like me to just do it myself rather than endure the horror of actually tidying loose bits away.
PLAYING, sounds sensible about testing when you say. I remember with dd3 who took 5 mths to conceive that I got to the stage when I'd rather af turned up than see a negative (I always talked myself into believeing the negs were just 'delayed positives', and felt even more disappointed.

tinkhasaspringinherstep · 22/04/2010 16:49

well done nat

oh diege

NatalieJane · 22/04/2010 17:41

Well you see, the idea of the toy boxes on wheels is that it will be easy to clear up the ocean sea of toys because we can wheel them around and chuck 'em in wheel them back to the playroom, then set the robomop thingmebob on it's way and Ta Da! One lovely clean tidy floor!

Obviously, this is a theory

Playing, you have 100 times more self disipline than me, I'd have tested at least 4 times by now!

I have just thrown all of Mikey's bottles away Did fleetingly cross my mind we've got two months to have a shot (excuse the pun!) at another one before DH is all clear, but then realised I wasn't sad thinking we'd never have another baby, just that he's grown out of them.

Right time to get dinner out of the oven, DH is on a late again, I shouldn't moan he is working all hours to see us straight money wise through the move, but, well, I guess I'm just selfish, feels like I'm going it alone with a paycheck at the end of the month. I miss him. Just hope these courses pay off and I can get a job asap. take a lot of the pressure off of him.

Anyway, dinner...!

Diege · 22/04/2010 18:51

Oh go on, live dangerously for 2 months
Re: storage, have some lovely fabric box type things from Cox and Cox, with shoes, dressing up, toys photos on front - I'm very impressed! Wheels make sense now re: robot!

NatalieJane · 22/04/2010 19:01

Hah! Not on your nelly, (what the bloody hell is a nelly?!), there will me no more kiddiewinkles around to mess up my lovely robocleaned floor thankingyouverymucho!

Boys and fabrics don't work, unless it's wipeable, washable, bleachable, and nuclear explosion withstanding!

DH still not home, am gasping for a glass of wine, don't think it's a good idea while I'm alone though! Oh but I do want one! Do you think it count's if I have lemonade in it?!!

Diege · 22/04/2010 19:37

'Ave it!!!...sans lemonade You deserve it after all your efforts today!
Hinted earlier to dh that I may be up the duff, and he was really really pleased...just hope it's not all a false alarm. Still, if not this month at least I know it'll be well-received if/when it happens!
