Diege · 17/04/2010 18:38

Wow TINKS you sound all shoe-ed out . My 'return' shoes are still awaiting collection by courier; I just know I'm going to have to brave the PO with them next week . Anyway, had a nice afternoon; ds's friends very nice, and my scones went down a treat too (added an egg this time and lots of baking powder - much better!).
Have decided not to 'gof' tonight (fertile day) and instead wait till next month when ds will be 11 mths. Figure I'd then get my bfp (dream on..) in mid-June which would be 12 mths since section...Day 14 gof was also 'fertile' day too though, so you never know for this month!
Hope everyone is enjoying the weather - scorching hot here this afternoon, though rain forcast for tomorrow.

essenceofSES · 17/04/2010 19:22

Diege - indeed, you never know!
Glad the scones worked. Were they friends from nursery?

MMM - hope you made it to the beach and M got his bucket and spade

Rugby - glad you enjoyed Harewood House. I went there a few years ago for a big hhot air balloon event. (I didn't go in one, just looked at all the pretty balloons!)

Gruff - v of your lie ins but you've got to make the most of it whilst you can!

Lovely sunny day here (think it was everywhere despite the cloud of ash!) Great for drying the washing and giving O his first proper time playing in the garden. (Not always easy because of the dogs). DH cleaned the garden after the dogs and then cut the grass and then we took O outside to play with us and the dogs for a bit. He seems to find the dogs absolutely hilarious for some reason!

I felt awful last night. O's sleeping has gone down hill again and he's regularly waking up twice in the night. DH offered last night to get up and try and settle him if/when he woke in the middle of the night. DH went off to bed about 10.15 so I sent the monitor with him and I stayed downstairs. About 10.45, I heard O stir so decided to delay going to bed as if he hears me, he often won't settle for DH. I felt really sorry for DH as O was doing proper screaming but after about 20-30mins, he settled so I went to bed. DH seemed to be awake so I commented on how he'd settled O well. DH said "Did he wake up? I didn't hear him!". Transpires that what I heard was O awake but no one went in to him! I felt awful but I know in a way it was probably good sleep training for him!

Hello Giraffe, tink, Cant, Star and anyone else lurking

Hello! Cold here today, such a change from yesterday. Going to see friend at our old house today - hope we don't overwhelm them, all of us turning up . Will be very odd to see the house, esp the dds with their room all changed.
TINKS, has your dd only just finished the easter hols? Commiserations if so..
Have a streaming cold and headache...no doubt due to change in temp.
Hi to all xx

Diege · 18/04/2010 13:21

Arghh I feel sick...not symptom spotting I should add..have just found an errant easter egg under the bed and have consumed it. All of it, including the 2 cream eggs at the side . Just felt I needed to share that. And d'you know what? I could eat it again

maxxymoosmummy · 18/04/2010 13:25

not so great about the cold headache and feeling sick
we both still have a streaming cold here and it will not shift.

tinkhasaspringinherstep · 18/04/2010 15:35

yummy i luv eggs

yes dd1 goes back tom

essenceofSES · 18/04/2010 16:14

Hello all!

For the last few years I just haven't bought any Easter eggs so I don't have the temptation there! O had one this year and all DH and I have had from it is 1 chocolate button each. I can see things changing in years to come though!

Diege - I hope you didn't feel sick for too long!

MMM - that's a really long time this cold has stuck around isn't it? Hope it finally ups and goes soon and you both feel better soon.

tink - I guess it will be good to get back into a routine with DD1 going back tomorrow. Schools round here are back tomorrow as well.

It's another beautiful day here and we've been off for a walk at Virginia Water with the dogs. I'd never been before and it's a really lovely place with lots of children, dogs and bikes!
I'm doing chicken salad for tea and we're all going to eat together out in the garden

Diege · 18/04/2010 19:21

Evening! Your planned afternoon sounds great SES; lucky you with the sun!And very restained with choc too - one button each?? Do you mean one button egg each??
MMM you have had your fair share of the poorlies Really hope you can shift that cold; are you back at work tomorrow?
TINKS, mine have been back a week now and still struggling to get back into the routine - seemed like a long easter somehow!
Afternoon at friends was nice, though I can't believe how we all fitted in that house! Back at work tomorrow, but wfh on Tues, intervewing again wed, then wfh Thurs so not a bad week at all. A bit of sun would be nice though!

maxxymoosmummy · 18/04/2010 21:58

DIEGE ye at work tomoro, its all fun and games haha.
just feel awful with this cold, and need to get the flat tidy, ut after work i just dont hae the energy to. need the cold to shift so ill be back on track.

Playingatmotherhood · 19/04/2010 09:22

Morning all,

Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend in the sun. We had a good one just pottering around the garden.

I assume most of you with school age kids have them going back today which is why its so quiet on here this morning!

Deige - I had a c-section 13 months ago now. I got pg 10-11 moonths after my cs. I had read all the advice (no one gave me any indication) and got the same things as you, a year being ideal and some even saying 2-3 yrs. I think the uterine rupture risk is so low anyhow and as long as you didn't have problems with your scar healing I cannot possibly see the difference between 10-12 months.

I heard some fantastic news on Friday. 2 of my good friends (from my NCT antenatal group) are 9 and 12 weeks pg. This is the most fab news for them. One had 2 rounds of IVF to have her DS1 and the other one tried for 3 yrs, then mc'd, then had to try for another yr to get her DS1. They are both completely gobsmacked and overwhelmed but of course delighted. It couldn't have happened to 2 more deserving people and to think I was really worried about telling them I was pg and how they would handle it.

Now I just have to catch them up, CD36 today of a cycle of goodness knows what length. Despite the fact we weren't really trying this month as I know its not a great idea so soon and the fact I'm sure I can't have ov'd before CD23 I'm still itching to test. Its such a crazy thing ttcing does to your brain, I know I am not due till at least tomorrow if not the end of the week so I will stay strong on the testing front for at least today. Plus its quite nice to still live in hope of seeing that BFP rather than seeing a BFN

essenceofSES · 19/04/2010 09:36

Morning!

Playing - how lovely for your NCT friends! I'm sure you'll be joining them soon IKWYM about waiting to test and so living in hope of BFP. I was just never any good at waiting it out!

Just a quick post via my phone at work as I'm interviewing this morning. First one is a telephone interview with a pharmacist. Then interviewing for a delivery driver! Variety and all that!!

tinkhasaspringinherstep · 19/04/2010 09:36

morning

back to normality

off for a walk in a min
dd1 looks so cute in new school shoes and checked summer dress

GruffaloSoldier · 19/04/2010 09:45

Hiya Playing!

Glad your weekend in the sun was good and wow that is great news about your friends pregnancies, how lovely!

we went to the in laws on sat (MIL/FIL, BIL and his GF) and then SIL and her family on Sunday for a family BBQ. we stayed over Sat night as they live in Hertfordshire. It was a nice weekend

I am on CD15 so 2 weeks to go for testing! Only prob is I think Sat would have been the best day for GOF but obviously wasn't going to do it at MIL's! Not to mention the squeaky blow up bed

Good luck for you Playing!!!

DH back to work today after a nice long Easter hol. He has an inset day today, kids are back tomorrow. GC was very obliging and let me lie in til 8am this morning

MMM - I can't believe you still have the cold - poor u!!! Hope it goes soon!

LOL at one button each SES! I don't let GC have chocolate so me and DH had to eat all the stuff people bought for him It was hard but its fo the good of his teeth and DH got some from pupils at school!

Hi to Diege, tink, GY, Star, Moosy, Rugby, NJ, Cant - anyone else Ive missed...

Diege · 19/04/2010 09:46

Morning! Yes, back to normality TINKS Feels good to have the students back here (in a way)and yes for dd2 to wear her checked school dress. Dd1 doesn't 'do' dresses', so has some rather snazzy shorts instead
SES, also interviewing here too; not great with a streaming cold! Sounds like you have a busy day on.
PLAYING, great to hear from you, and nice news about your NCT friends . Thank you so much for reassurance about the section, it's really helped. I agree, I can't see 2 months under the 12mths making any difference whatsoever. Like you, I don't think this month is the month as we stopped ttc-ing when I got the 'go' signal on the persona machine, but feel more confident about next month now when it will be 11 mths post-section. As SES says, there is something quite nice about the 2 ww. Will not be testing here until af very late, but know there's very little chance and am fine with that!
Hope everyone has a good week and that the sun comes back!

Diege · 19/04/2010 09:48

x-posts GRUFF! LOL about the squeeky bed I don't blame you Still, could be that you've done enough before then anyway. On day 18 here so not far ahead of you.

cantmummyhaveabreak · 19/04/2010 13:26

afternoon. Not managed to get on the rest of the weekend as been busy. Then took DD2 to baby group this morning, was nice and quiet- only 3 other LO's there.

Had a fabby night out on sat for my friends bday- had so much to drink and still seemed pretty sober by the end of the night!! only managed 3hrs sleep tho, and then was seriously hungover by yesterday afternoon

Diege · 19/04/2010 14:20

Hi CANT! Your weekend sounds fun (apart from the hangover...)
Have just got my blood test results back from gps and cholesterol level is 4.1!!! Very pleased as was 5.5 last time (have high hereditary risk of stroke, high bp etc).
Symptom spotting....very sore boobs which I never get unless pregnant, but would only be 4 days post-conception if I had been lucky so obviously a little premature...still, all part of the fun

tinkhasaspringinherstep · 19/04/2010 14:25
