cantmummyhaveabreak · 15/04/2010 16:49

Very quiet on here, have just spoken to Kayz and she's fine. She's just busy between work and her DS's. Said she'll pop on soon.

DD1's jabs went ok. She cried a little as they all do but seconds later ripped off the plaster they'd put on it! My brave baby!

To add to my day we had a little Ginger cat trying to make our house it's home. Came in the back door as the kids were playing out. Roamed around the house a bit and eventually got it out. It was very cute but I'm pretty sure it's our neighbours cat, not that I think they look after it too well! DC's fell in love with it and were adamant we were keeping it, DS even named it snoopy because he was snooping around our house!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 15/04/2010 16:53

Oh and we had the biggest spider ever in the kitchen! DC's saw it and legged it into the living room, slammed the door shut then shouted me upstairs. I could see each leg from the kitchen doorway and it was all the way at the other end of the kitchen. Brave mummymanaged to get it outside and made it run away... Just hope I don't see it again as it was enormous!!! I was a tad scared to say the least!!!

Diege · 15/04/2010 17:25

Hello! Eek to the spider CANT...did it have hairy legs?? . Glad the jabs went well today - did you all end up going after all? (I've done this with thr sw jab and other than the inevitable 'ooh look dd3, the needle is hugh!!! it's been ok!'
Glad you're ok KATZ, looking forward to having you back!
I must go as dd3 just arrived back, pop in later!

maxxymoosmummy · 15/04/2010 18:05

eening eeryone, DS is in bed already, so im making the most of it. still not feeling ay better, and DS doesnt seem to beeither poor lil man. tookhim back to thedrs and hes now been given an inhaler.
going to relax watch the soapsand get a bath and earlyish night ready for work tomoro. hope everyone is ok.

Diege · 15/04/2010 19:33

Hi MMM, sorry to hear things are still bad. Don't worry too much about the inhaler - we were given one for dds after weeks of coughing (in my opinion with no justification) and she never needed it. Hope work is ok tomorrow.
Happy birthday GC!! How time has flow!
TINKS, sound like you and dh had a nice time today - doesn't it feel so much easier when you get rid of one of them? . Is dd1 back tonight?
Well the ovulation strip says 'yes', so gof-time tonight . Never have I felt less like it. Will also 'try' (or not try not to not try..I think)next month, but then leave it till after Whitby hols.
Hope everyone is well. Interview for today was ok, though mw very much sitting on the fence and being 'careful' with her answers... Have another few next week, then one with a sonographer - eek!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 15/04/2010 19:56

Evening... Yep, spider had hairy legs- was very scary!

Had an odd evening, bit of a shocking call from DH's brother earlier... Not even sure of the outcome now either!

Diege- how exciting for you to be 'trying'... Seems odd that I'm not now everyone else seems to be!

I'm having my hair done tomorrow morning, looking forward to it, planning a bit of a change, few inches off the length. Might colour it too. All in preparation for my girls night out on sat!

GruffaloSoldier · 15/04/2010 20:42

Evening all!

A great birthday for GC today. Was a lovely day me, DH and GC had a family outing to the park. GC really enjoyed toddling around and going on the swings.

Thanks for all the happy birthdays

Diege - I too am in GOF mode. Am on CD11 so will be 'at it' for next few days I find red wine helps when not feeling up to it

Glad interview was ok, fingers crossed for next ones!

CANT - shudder at hairy spider. having hair done sounds good. I really need mine done, havent had it cut for well over a year!

Tink - day sounds nice

MMM- sorry to hear you are both still poorly. I hope you get better very soon!

Rugby - Hope you had a nice day with the NCT girls.

GY - Hope everything ok

Hi to anyone lurking!

Diege · 15/04/2010 21:02

Hi GRUFF! Hey we're nearly cycle buddies, cd 14 here . Sounds like you had a really nice time for GC's birthday; did you have birthday weather too?

Well, the deed is done (poor dh, if he were to read this)so I can relax with a creme egg and a cuppa . So now of course I'm having pangs of 'what have we done'...like it's a done-deal . Right, going to forget about it now for at least 2 weeks.

Hair plans sound great CANT - are you going anywhere nice on Sat? (though just 'out' is for me!)

GruffaloSoldier · 15/04/2010 21:09

Hiya Diege!

Yeah we had gorgeous sunshine and was very warm in the sun

LOL at the deed being done I do think "oh my God am I nuts??!!" everytime we GOF too as Im worried about whether its the right thing to do, but I am a firm believer in if its meant to be it will happen

Im just contemplating getting that glass of wine...

Diege · 15/04/2010 21:15

Go on,crack open that bottle...I know what you mean about 'am I mad?' moments...but I think there's something in what you say about things working themselves out. So when are you going to test then?

essenceofSES · 15/04/2010 21:28

Quick post from me to wish GC a happy birthday
Sounds like you had a great day!

Good luck to all of you ttc. In theory we should be ttc from next month but AF still hasn't appeared so I may have to be patient and wait a few more months

Cant - eek at spider!!
DD2 sounds like she's doing really well!

MMM - hope you and M have a good night and feel better tomorrow.

essenceofSES · 15/04/2010 21:31

Diege · 16/04/2010 12:43

Hello! Had a busy morning, first at GPs to get bp done and cholestoral testing (I have a funny 'gene' apparently from Irish ancestry, linked to a circulatory weakness from potato famine apparently )Very cynical of that, but then early strokes are in the family (mum had one at 50)so good that they're keeping an eye on things. Bp 136 over 86 which is brilliant for me, so feeling pleased Then we went to town and did a spot of shopping in H&M and Zara..followed by Scoop, and ds's first taste of ice cream...his face was a picture, like I'd fed him with poison, then he started screaming, much to the amusement of everyone in there.... Ds has also started pulling himself up and doing that thing where they stick their bum in the air and straighten out their legs..all ominous for further mobility!
SES, 'John' sounds an absolute nutter You must be flattered to have such attention .
TINKS, excellent purchases there by the sounds of things. I have a massive box of boden shoes that I am returning - their shoes are notorioulsy unpredicatable re: sizing, thank goodness it's free p&p!
Hope everyone's ok - lovely weather here again xx

Hi TINKS, sounds like the slide has gone down well
Pizza night tonight, so dds (and ds) enjoying a few slices. Seeing dh's friends tomorrow (he's invited a hosueful of people I don;t know, so feeling a bit as I get quite shy in front of strangers...Then Sun going round to see old house as now work with the woman who lives there!
May have to fit in another gof on Sat as ov stick still showing pos, and favour the zita west 'every other day' approach...
Hope everyone is well - v.quiet on here today!

Rugbylovingmum · 16/04/2010 18:47

Hi all,

had a lovely day at Harewood House with DD yesterday. We walked around the bird park and garden, played on the swings then sat and had a little picnic. It is so sweet seeing all the babies sat on the picnic rug (except DD who won't sit yet and just rolls across the mat ), it doesn't seem like that long ago we were at our first NCT class with our huge bumps ! Today we've been to the park then wandered around town, it's just so nice to have some sun . DD is now sleeping through from 7.30/8pm-6/6.30am about 2 nights out of 3 which is fantastic. Her second tooth popped through yesterday - I think that was causing the problem on her odd bad nights.

Diege - hope you have a good time meeting DH's friends tomorrow. I'm very shy with new people too but these things are usually better than I think they will be.

Tink - sounds like you have had a nice day in the sun too.

Ses - how annoying, I'd be really at 'John' checking up on me. Hope they back off and jus let you get on with your job soon.

Diege · 16/04/2010 21:55

Hi RUGBY! That does sound a good day out, and great too that you are benefitting from more sleep. Are you getting a bit greedy now and hoping for that extra hour on top?
Having a bit of a worry here after picking up on the preferred 12 mth break that's apparently suggested after a section (before ttc-ing). First I'd heard of it, but if successful this month would be 10 mths after ds born. Anyone else know anything more about the suggested period before ttc after a section? Just my luck that this will be my month

Rugbylovingmum · 16/04/2010 22:36

Hi Diege - ha ha, I am just starting to think "wouldn't it be lovely if she slept until 7" but at the same time I'm scared she'll start waking in the night again next week now we are used to the extra zzz's . After my c-section the doctor said that the cut should be pretty well healed after 3 months but the longer you leave it the stronger it gets. She said they suggest 12 months before ttcing but the chances of rupture/placenta problems are so low I don't think they have any figures to show that waiting 12 months is really better than 9 months for example. The rate of healing must vary from person to person as well so I'm sure 10 months will be fine (in my totally inexpert opinion ).

GruffaloSoldier · 16/04/2010 22:58

hey!

Diege - I was told day after c section by consultant that 3 months wait was advised, at which I replied "I think I'll wait 3 years"

changed my mind about that one...

dont worry Diege, if it happens, it will be fine. these are only a guide anyway. everybody is different in their recovery etc.even if it were 12 months, there will have been crazy people getting pg before 3 months, and more before 6 months and plenty before 12 months. its ok!

any better diege??

hi Rugby - yay for sleep

i got up at 10 am this morning i am going to have a nasty shock when dh goes back to work Monday hes let me have a lie in every day for past two weeks, except the day of the party. im not looking forward to getting up at 7.30am or whenever GC decides to wake!

am typing this with one hand - big glass of red vino in the other diege

maxxymoosmummy · 17/04/2010 07:59

morning everyone, hope everyone is well.
another day at work yesterday so didnt get chance to post anything, been keeping up and reading just not had the time to post.
another lovely day here, so plan to go to the beach at lytham with CANT and the DCs, along with our other sister and mum hopefully. going to try get M a bucket and spade before going
will be back on later no doubt.
hope everyone has great days

Diege · 17/04/2010 10:56

Hi! Feeling much better after your comments about c-section GRUFF and RUGBY . The stuff I've read seems to vary from a few months, to 6 mths, to 12 mths (most common) to 2-3 yrs . Now my ov thingy (persona) is saying tonight is the night, but I think, for the sake of leaving it one mth, I'll leave it this month, though as you say RUGBY can't see 2 mths under the 12 being crucial. On the other hand, if my day 14 gof has done the deed, I'm not going to obsess as would be 11mth post by the time I'd got a bfp. Hope you enjoyed the wine GRUFF
RUGBY, I too got 'greedy' and looking back probab;t coped better with the 5.30 starts than the 6.30, the latter being just too close to normal times. Not that I'm complaining..
MMM, Lytham used to be a hols spot for us - love it! Hope you aqll have a lovely day.
Right, better go and try the scones again for this afternoon's visitors
Back later x
