Feel a bit stupid for superstitiously posting now as my spotting turned into an early mc overnight . So won't be joining you Dec ladies. Good luck with your pregnancies and I am sure you will all get lots of support from each other - my first ante-natal thread is still going strong (Jan 09) and it really has been great being able to share the journey. Have taken myself off the list.

Hello and congratulations everyone

Can I join in? Tested positive on Friday and I think I'm due on 3rd Dec. Kind of want to tell my mum and sister, but they are useless at secrets so me and DP have decided to keep it to ourselves for the time being.

Feeling a bit freaked out but pleased, and absolutely knackered.

Missjackson

I'm getting off the bus too. After 2 consecutive positive tests and one neg one I started bleeding last night so did another test today and that was a negative too so but we'll try again as soon as we can though. It just looks like AF as arrived, no pain or big massive clots.

Good luck anyway ladies with you pregnancies, degrees and telling work!!!

Hi can I join please. Got my BFP on 1st of April and thought it was a cruel april fools joke. This is #1 for me so excited but quite nervous at the same time.

missjackson so sorry to hear about your MC. sending big virtual hugs to you!

trytobebrave · 05/04/2010 20:26

Sorry Bellared and missjackson I hope next month is lucky for you both.

Has anyone been to the GP yet? I'm going to try to get an appointment for tomorrow. I really want to go back to the fabulous hospital where I had my ds but we've moved house since then and aren't in the catchment anymore. I've only heard bad things about the two hospitals closest to where I am now from other mums so I think I'm going to have to plead with the GP to refer me to the original hospital. Fingers crossed....

OnlyWantsOne · 05/04/2010 20:35

I went to GP last week - I have the choice of 3 big hospitals (all an hour away) or community led midwifery centre - Am going to aim for there or at home.

Feel uber paranoid about mc this time

welcome to mumnerves hello!!!

OP posts:
Firsttimer2010 · 05/04/2010 22:41

Going to call my GP tomorrow. Not really sure what the procedure is where I live, hopefully will get some info of dos and don'ts as had green tea and a hot bath today and didn't realise I wasn't supposed to

OnlyWantsOne · 06/04/2010 08:48

why not green tea places cup of steaming green tea back on desk

I saw my GP at bang on 4 weeks - he booked me over the MW centre, who called me the next day (I was shocked at how promptly) who then have booked me in for the 6th May for my booking in appt. Apparently after this I will get a letter from the hospital asking me to come for a scan.

All seems wierd now, as have known for 2 weeks, used to the idea really, and yet, no bump, no symptoms as such... odd odd

trytobebrave · 06/04/2010 12:32

Firsttimer, I found this which might be helpful? I signed up for weekly pregnancy emails from that site too.

I went to the GP this morning. It was a very sweet young guy who I think must have been newly qualified because he said 'Oh wow, you're my first pregnant patient!' He had to go and get the head Dr because he didn't know what to do on the computer. Anyway, they are referring me to the hospital where I had ds but they don't seem to think they will take me as apparently lots of people have been trying to go there from our surgery but haven't been accepted. I have to go back to the GP in 2 weeks to see if I've got in. Going for bloods this afternoon too to get the ball rolling. Exciting!

OnlyWantsOne · 06/04/2010 12:47

bloods? how come x

OP posts:
trytobebrave · 06/04/2010 13:26

I'm not entirely sure. I didn't have them until my booking in appointment last time but I was at a different surgery then. I think here they do the booking bloods straight away instead of at the booking in.

SpanishLady · 06/04/2010 13:29

I am just about pregnant (4 weeks and 3 days!) but I wont join here just yet as want to see my doctor first (have appointment on 19th April) and see how this is going!

If this pregnancy sticks I am due 10th December

moomaa · 06/04/2010 15:55

Sorry to see you go from the list Bellared and missjackson. I was feeling a bit funny about joining this thread so soon, but it is good to have people to 'talk' to on here when it's not common knowledge in rl yet.

I haven't rung the drs yet for booking appointment, feels a bit early

Bellared, I don't know if you still want to know but yes I did get full SMP, the qualifying period was about a month after I started back I think.

moomaa · 06/04/2010 16:06

ok booking in appointment done Things must have got better since last time I was pregnant because they were struggling to get people in before they were 12 weeks but this time I was 'allowed' from 6 weeks.

It wasn't the same midwife as the last two times which is a bit sad because she was fab. Hopefully this one will be too.

4madboys · 06/04/2010 16:13

hello onlywantsone!! have you abandoned us on the nov thread? i hope you will poke your nose in and say hi to us occasionally, tbh i think i should be on the dec thread too, due 27th nov but all mine have been over two weeks late

onlywantsone is that the birthing centre at EYE, i think its called the gilchrist centre? i had a look around there when having ds4 but as it was a 40min drive away i opted for the N&N as i had a 3hr labour wiht ds3, then only had an hour of labour with ds4, so good job really!

good luck ladies and if everyone on my thread births before me, which i am sure they will do! then i may jump onto your thread once i am overdue!

RaceyLacey · 06/04/2010 17:07

Hi everyone

Bellared & MissJAckson, sorry to lose you both

I'm booked in to see my dr after the school holidays finish. Have had a really good few days & have lots planned for the rest of the holidays. That should keep me busy 'til then and then it'll all seem real. Not sure what happens after that though as it's a different surgery to the one I was at with the ds's and also the maternity services have all changed here recently.

I want a home birth this time round. Don't see any reason why not so fingers crossed I don't go too overdue.

OWO - I feel quite paranoid aout that too. I'm much more scared and nervous than I was the last 2 times.

Firsttimer2010 · 06/04/2010 18:51

Rang GP this morning, got appointment on Friday. Anyone had any cravings yet? I really fancied a fish finger sandwich at lunchtime but not sure if it was a craving or not

likethemapples · 06/04/2010 19:40

Firsttimer2010 - fish finger sandwiches are irresistible at any time!

Bellared · 06/04/2010 19:52

Thanks Moomaa

Good luck again ladies!! XX

mumnerves · 06/04/2010 21:28

moomaa I agree it's good to share the news, I haven't told anyone IRL yet, except DH and the receptionist at the GPs. She congratulated me and said 'it's going to be wonderful' That made me go all funny and weird as I think it's really hitting me now. Got to tell the boss tomorrow as well

Firstimer I've been craving carbs for the last week. pasta and bread especially!

Anyone else dreading the ms? Is anyone actually experiencing it already? I'm just worried about waking up suddenly with it and my bed is the wrong side to the toilet Also am planning to keep it a secret from my other work colleagues and I think if I go in green in the face they will surely guess what's up.

My boobs have already gone up one cupsize too and are just 'too happy' to see everyone! It's just as well I kept my bras from when I lost weight but I had to go out to get 2 new work shirts today in a larger size which will hopefully hide them away as my boobs are 'popping' the buttons on my current shirts

urghhhh feel totally surreal, dont feel pregnant - DP got week off next week so going to try and book a scan at my local hospital.

Think I'm about 5 weeks 6 days.

has any one else seen this here

OP posts:
RaceyLacey · 07/04/2010 11:19

Wow, that's a great site OWO.

I'm 5wks today, so will be weighing & measuring myself tonight on the wii fit. Last time I lost 2 stone by 12 weeks and then put on 5 by 41 weeks . If that happens the same this time round I'll be 14 stone by the end .

mumnerves - My boobs have also grown a lot. That's how I knew as I noticed it a few days before I got my bfp. I love pregnant boobs, if only they didn't go so saggy and empty afterwards!

haventtold -I had thrush right throughout ds2's pregnancy. My gp just gave me about 6 or 7 months worth of Canestan to see me through. Hopefully I'll avoid it this time round.

I have a friend coming round soon, she's the only person in RL (apart from dp) who knows and she is also pg, so we can chat about (non-existant) symptoms.
