mumatron that's crap then, they should at least offer you some tests.

notso How are you feeling now? I'd make a complaint about that gp if I were you. I hope the scan goes well.

spangle welcome

velvetcu I've been fairly breathless at times too, I think it's normal.

Hopeful I think walking should be fine, just take it easy and, as you say, stop if you feel any pain etc. Sounds like a lot of fun.

deepblue I know what you mean, the doppler will help you, once you've found the heartbeat once it will get easier.

OWO so pleased that the scan went well. I've not heard about clots but I assume it's not bad if they didn't say so? Hope it helped to put your mind at ease a bit.

Dueling I'll be 8 weeks tomorrow and that's the latest miscarriage I've had (also my first one) so I'm feeling a bit fragile tonight. Been playing with the kids taking my mind of things and have a day out planned tomorrow so, fingers crossed. I'm startiing to show now too so that helps a little. I think I'll get the doppler out later and see if I can find anything.

How is everyone? I'm knackered as usual, looking forward to a night on the sofa with the tv and some food! Maybe some tea too hehe. So much stress at the moment too which isn't helping but, what doesn't kill you and all that.

Wholelottalove · 14/05/2010 19:39

Hi all, sorry not got time to catch up with everyone but wanted to say hi to new joiners and also really pleased your scan went well OWO.

I'm another moaning minnie I'm afraid. I'm feeling a bit shocking really and it's starting to grind me down even though I know it will pass. Mornings and evenings seem to be the worst times at the moment for nausea. And very tired as well. Am now 9 weeks and seem to remember 9-11 weeks being the hardest last time in terms of sickness. My scan isn't for so long - another 4 weeks.

We've just ordered a pizza and I think it's going to be kill or cure...

crazykat · 14/05/2010 20:24

persnickety I'm with you on the migranes. I was lucky with my last pregnancys and didn't get one in either - this time i'm averaging one a week that lasts 2-3 days.

OWO that's great news about the scan.

notso I hope everything goes well with the scan.

Congratulations and welcome to the newbies.

I'm getting a horrible cold that DS decided to share with me. My throat feels like I've been drinking acid and food tastes aweful. On the plus side MS is putting me off eating anyway so at least I don't feel starving.

I've started taking vitamins too as my diet consists of mainly toast, pot noodles and banana milkshakes so at least I know baby's getting the nutrients s/he needs.

mumatron · 14/05/2010 20:34

so glad your scan went well ow

sorry cant catch up with everyone else but just so tired

i've been in bed since 7pm, i should be packing. we are mmoving house in a week. god know how i'm going to get it all done in time. can't get any time of work.

any one else feeling really emotional? i cant stop crying had lots of compliments for something in work today and i had to rush to the loo and cry. not good. also very short tempered with dp. i just cant spend time with him atm. looking forward to spending all weekend on here in bed.

WhatWillSantaBring · 14/05/2010 20:35

I'm glad I'm not the only moaning minnie! Luckily for me the sea bands are working a charm on the nausea (most of the time) but the exhaustion is incredible! I feel like such a drip. I desparately want to do some exercise but I'm too shattered to do anything. And DH keeps getting scared that I keep bursting into tears.

Read a good tip on one of the other discussion boards- tattoo on your hand the mantra "This will pass" and repeat it, hourly. Good advice, methinks.

notso - your gp sounds awful, I'd definitely complain. What if someone you knew was sitting in the waiting room. Terribly unprofessional.

How long do you reckon I should wait till I follow up with the local midwife services? They only work one day a week and there's only two more weeks to go till I get to 10 weeks? I saw the GP for a referral three weeks ago now so bit concerned I'm going to miss the window for getting an NT scan sorted. And I want to have a scan before 13 weeks is up so I can tell family when I see them! Garrrghhhh! Stresshead!

WalkTheDog · 15/05/2010 08:19

Morning all

Hope your morning is doing OK.

WWSB I need that tattoo today! OH away for wknd, feel already like a zombie - dogs needed out, they've had their brekkie and now asleep! Just managed and no more to stop throwing up my orange juice, grrr..

mumatron hope you get some packing done. We moved house recently and I don't want to do that again in a rush.

93pjb · 15/05/2010 09:21

Morning all

hope it is a good weekend for all.

notso - It is astonishing how bad some gps can be. Pity they don't have regular performance reviews like the rest of us!

OWO - pleased to hear your scan went well

WTD - I ordered some t-shirt bras from mothercare online - but when the rest of the order came it said they were a special delivery and would arrive in 1 -4 weeks!!

I am 9 weeks tomorrow and I think the sickness is getting a little better but the tiredness is relentless.

DuelingFanjo · 15/05/2010 10:32

Morning all and welcome new people.
I still feel so guilty as I don't seem to have any symptoms apart from being so spotty and constipated. I did wake up early this morning and lie in bed feeling a little queasy but it passed. Am in my 10th week now so maybe I have missed all the sickness. Hope so.

WalkTheDog · 15/05/2010 14:42

93pjb it was the tshirt bras I wanted from there. That is crazy up to 4 weeks, by then you'll probably need a new size! Maybe I'll just have to go on a big adventure to Inverness to do some shopping.

mumatron · 15/05/2010 15:11

good afternoon ladies.

im supposed to be packing but getting nowhere. i have not long woke up from a lovely nap

dueling i wouldn't feel guilty about being symptom free, just enjoy. have you booked in with a mw yet?

i really need to get some decent bras but i am scared i will jinx myself. when i had my first mc, i started to bleed the day i bought my first pair of mat jeans

im making do with leggings for now.

hope everyone else is feeling ok.

DuelingFanjo · 15/05/2010 15:17

Hi mumatron. Went to see the GP last Friday and am hoping the midwife will be in touch with me some time after Tuesday.

mumatron · 15/05/2010 15:25

well, if you are going to uhw i know they will try and see you between 11-12 weeks for your dating scan, so you shouldn't be waiting too long.

DuelingFanjo · 15/05/2010 16:17

The only thing which worries me is that I had a scan at 9 weeks and the GP kind of implied I might not get the 12 week one! I did ask about the Nuchal scan though so he's aware I want to know more about it.

mumatron · 15/05/2010 16:38

i would think you would be fine to have the 12 wk as well as the 9 wk was done through ivf wales.

i had 9 week scans in my last 2 pg's and i would of been able to have 12 week, not a prob. the epu run's different to the antenatal clinic.

not sure if they offer the nuchal though. going by the date i have been given i will be under 11 weeks when i have mine. i was so intent on getting an earlier scan i didnt ask about it.

WalkTheDog · 15/05/2010 18:50

ooohh all exciting, MW just called, booking appt on Thursday

maxpower · 15/05/2010 20:26

Hello ladies, can I join you? Slightly shocked to get a BFP this afternoon - have been ttc DC2 for 2 years. Suddenly realised my period was really late and there you ahve it. EDD 28th Dec I think.

Congrats to everyone else.

mumatron · 15/05/2010 21:10

hi max saw your other thread earlier.

congratulations.

SpangleMaker · 15/05/2010 22:33

Congrats maxpower You must be so chuffed!

I've been trying to catch up and read all the posts so I can get to know you all but now DH - who took my laptop to work today - tells me he's left the charger there and I now have only 45min of internet time left between now and Monday evening - how will I cope?!

OWO glad you had a good scan. I'm not sure about clots. I had quite a bit of bleeding in my last pregnancy (none so far with this one, touch wood) but I don't think they knew what was causing it.

notso very unprofessional of your GP.

Do most of you have nuchal scans available on the NHS? My hospital is introducing them from October - not very helpful for me! I went to a really good place last time so I'll go back there. I'm 39 so my age risk is fairly high.

DuelingFanjo · 15/05/2010 23:14

Congratulatins maxpower

SpangleMaker I don't think I get the Nuchal scan on the NHS. I'm 40 so my risk is high too.

Still not sure what to do because even if I get a high risk I am not sure I would go through with an Amnio.

We just went out for a curry with my FIL. My DH doesn't really see him much despite him not living too far away. As I hugged him goodbye he said 'look after my grandchild' and it made me think 'oh WOW! I'm having someone's first grandchild!'.

cher31 · 15/05/2010 23:39

The joys. Decided to tell best friends and family this week. My DP was v happy that his dad and sisters were delighted about the first grandchild. His sister was so delighted that she put a message on facebook to tell the world our good news. Now everyone at work seems to know and we are now deleting messages and frantically telling all those who should really hear it from us. So much for keeping quiet for another 3 weeks. Be careful xx

DuelingFanjo · 15/05/2010 23:51

Oh no Cher that would really annoy me.

heading4home · 16/05/2010 08:05

Morning all, sorry I'm not doing very well at keeping up with the thread. I am reading it all though.

Haven't been feeling too great, nausea, tiredness and headaches getting me down. I wanted this baby so much but now I'm pregnant I'm wondering if it wasn't all a huge mistake. Finding it impossible to just relax and take it day by day, my mind just keeps racing ahead to how on earth I'll ever manage when I have to go back to work full time at 16 bloody weeks (Swiss crappy mat leave). Don't want to leave tiny bean for 10-11 hours a day at less than four months old and keep thinking it's not fair which is a bit pointless

Anyway, sorry for not responding, I hope that once I get my energy back, things will look better.

fordypops · 16/05/2010 08:32

hi evryone!!

I have had a mixed bag of a week, I had a couple of days where I felt better and not so sick at all but the last couple of days have been tough, work has been super busy ( I am a hairdresser and on my feet allll day) and my nan has been taken into hospital so I am up there evryday too.

But the good news is I have a date for my scan only 13 days to wait!! and I have my booking in app with the midwife on that day too.

So glad to hear the scan went well OWO and NOTSO thats so rude of your gp,93pjb I got some t shirt bras from marks and spencers and they are fab,so so comfy.

Well I hope you are all having a nice weekend I am going to get my butt moving as otherwise i think i could stay in bed alllll day!!

likethemapples · 16/05/2010 09:06

11 weeks today and I have been hit with the exhaustion and vomiting stick just in time to cook Sunday lunch for some friends who don't know. DP has a complicated plan with drinks that look like wine, but I hope I don't blow it by throwing up. I can't wait until I can come out of the closet.
