Snap ML, but then it's all over! It's just a bit fierce and frantic when they go though isn't it. I tend to get back to back contractions for the last 1/2 hour then pop them out in 2-3 pushes. Exhausting but thankfully over quickly.
I'm on my 5th DC here too. Good luck to you, hope it's all over soon.

pamelat · 15/04/2010 20:26

luckyc many congrats, beautiful name too.

I had a 2 hour nap whilst DH took DD swimming. Cant beleive I slept so long!! Hope I sleep tonight. Had 3 lots of plans tomorrow but cancelled 2 in an attempt to "relax". I find it more stressful to be in the house with DD than out and about, just meeting a friend for a cup of tea at a play place.

Midwife did say that because bp high they unlikely to try to turn my breech baby so prob c-section and prob around 38 weeks, which would be 27 April, eeekkkk this month.

TomlinTowers · 15/04/2010 20:26

Many many congrats to LuckyC and Forces - that is such lovely news. Looking forward to full birth stories soon, and pics if possible!

Good luck ML - will be checking in regularly to see how you are getting on.

Love the new list SK thanks very much!

Massive Congratulations to LuckyC and Forces
Thinking about you Memory and hope all is going well.
Can't believe we have two, nearly three May babies here! It's all feeling very real now

Rachel - Really feel for you over the mice. Hope your DH can do something about them.

Pamelat - Hope you had a good sleep this afternoon.

Really sorry, have got behind with personal replies. Hope everyone is okay

I have my usual growth scan and consultant appointment tomorrow. I am really hoping that they may give me an induction date, but that might be asking too much!

Gils · 15/04/2010 21:08

Wow 2 new babies, congrats to Forces and Lucky C. ML hope things are keeping moving for you.

So excited that babies have started to arrive. Jealous too!

Pamelat so glad you enjoyed your afternoon off, totally sympathise with looking after DD. Its my last day at work tomorrow but also aware that I get more peace and quiet at work than running about at home.

Rachel, sorry to hear about the mice. Stand firm with DH. Play pregnancy card, be emotional!

Pigley - hope DD is better soon. I had a moment with mine other night. Went to check on her before I went to bed and she looked so angelic, poor thing isn't gonna know what hit her.

Heffa/sweetkitty - I have no idea what I am having (wish I did!) MIL says def DD work thinks def DS both based on bump shape!!

Hollyoaks, I am fine. Unfortunately just something I'll need to deal with. He is back tomorrow but away again on Tuesday, just really want him to be there and would feel terrible if he missed it. I would marry a lorry driver.

Really feel this pg taken a lot more out of me. Lots of strange movements and pains. Sometimes bump is just so sore to touch, esp round belly button and back has been agony. Really hope this baby arrives early DD was 11 days late.

Had midwife today. Everything fine, back in 2 weeks. Baby still not engaged but did hear might not for 2nd

Off to watch Greys. Night all

mustbemadno3 · 15/04/2010 21:15

congratulations luckyc and forces hope all going well with you Ml

Look forward to the birth stories asap.

Cant believe how quickly this thread moves I swear I cant keep up.

Been work today finally just tidying few things up going in 1 day a week til baby arrives.

Brought a tens machine yesterday it was 30 quid to hire or 30 to buy??? So brought it and plan on hiring it out to others!! haha!

Also have started using almond oil on perinium as I used it with dc2 and I only had small tear that didnt need stitching so fingers crossed it works this time!

Sorry not replied personally but just checking in and trying to keep up!

AprilMeadow · 15/04/2010 21:17

Congratulations to you May ladies. I am May07 and my DD1 was due on the 3rd May but arrived on the 10th April. She was and is still very petite. It's a great time of year to have a baby, enjoy x

MarquiseDeMerteuil · 15/04/2010 21:41

Crikey, lots has happened today!
Congratulations Forces and Lucky C, and good luck ML - am very impressed that you're managing to post such frequent updates!

Pamelat sounds like you had a lovely relaxing afternoon.

Rachel - what a nightmare with the mice. Can you maybe just call in Rentokil to deal with them? The thought of uninvited creatures in the house isn't pleasant! For me the nightmare scenario would be spiders (shudder).

Can I ask a favour of the next person to update the list? I don't want to clog this up with loads more copies for trivial things, but if someone's doing it anyway, please can you update my age to 34?!! Have been putting off doing it!

Was going to type some more personal replies but MIL just called and was on the phone for 20 minutes, and now I've forgotten what I was going to say, sorry.

MarquiseDeMerteuil · 15/04/2010 21:43

Oh, x-post with you MBM. I seem to have missed a few posts while on the phone. - Glad you mentioned the almond oil. I bought some a few weeks ago to keep for when I got to 34 weeks (which is when I think they recommend starting) and then completely forgot all about it. Probably subconsciously blocked it out! Will give it a try.

AnAngelWithin · 15/04/2010 21:43

ok ML i am really sorry.... I posted on here like you asked and it disappeared

Congratulations to luckyc and forces!!!

Not much to report here. Very tired. Stripped the paint of the bathroom tiles and dissolved the sealant all round the bath. Have repainted the tiles too. Shattered now! But it was a messy job and a job well done lol. DH has been busy doing assignment and revising for an exam on monday bless him. House has been quiet as ds1 and his attitude have been at a friends all day. He's come back feeling sick and got a headache, so I daresay he has been hyper there all day! His poor friends mum! Got to reseal round the bath and I might start the bulk of the wall painting tomorrow if I can find the energy!!

hormonalmum · 15/04/2010 22:09

Many congrats to LuckyC and Forces .

Hope ML is doing ok - won't be long now!

Rachel - the mice thing - argh. I have a massive phobia and could not cope with them in the house. Had some in the house before christmas and my lovely dh spent hours chasing them and getting rid of them. He often came home to me hyper-ventilating as I had seen one. I am going to have some treatment before next Winter in case they come back in when it is cold.

Pamelet - your dh sounds lovely - what a nice thought.

Mustbemad - I bought a Tens machine for the same reason - same price to hire. I will probably sell mine after I have finished with it.

Car seat update - now have a carseat that will fit onto pram. The lady bought me another one (completely different colour to my pram though) to "put me on" until she gets mine back. I wonder why she just did not get it sent back by courier from where ever it is. I wonder if I will see mine again. Feel a bit narked that the new seat is not matching my pram but she is confident I will get my seat back soon.....

Sorry, must go to bed - getting lots of bh today and my back is aching like mad. Dh and I are putting dd's new bed up tomorrow, so will need to be on top form!

brightredballoon · 15/04/2010 22:27

Congratulations Lucky and Forces ML good luck , also very impressed at your regular updates, makes it even more exciting.

Pamelat not only this month but 27th is just 12 days away! I am no expert and know there are lots of us on this thread who have had/are having a csection so if you have any questions please fire away. My biggest tip is ask them for PEPPERMINT OIL in hot water for the wind pains, it is fantastic.

AnAngel how did you dissolve the sealant around the bath? I only just noticed our is very grotty underneath and lots of it will peel off but I would like to help it on its way to quicken the job.

Rachel sorry to hear about your Mice, my friend had a few in her house and put down some traps. She seems to have got rid of them without filling in holes etc (hers is a really old semi). She laid human traps with a smear of nutella (have heard smooth peanut butter also good) as the bait. I think she caught 3 in total.Have you found any droppings? Apparently they are very clever at moving their own food so might not be in places where you keep food.

SK glad you have got an induction agreed, is it definitely going ahead on your due date?

Slings, I have decided on a babyhawk Mei Tei, cant wait to get it.

I have really enjoyed the easter holidays with the children off toddler groups and nursery but my word I am really looking forward to Monday bringing return of routine since its my last full week before baby arrives the week after .

sweetkitty · 15/04/2010 22:38

BRB - have appt with MW at 39+1 for a VE and sweep then she is going to book me in sometime before my due date.

ML - am off to bed now I hope your lack of posts means we have another new baby.

memorylapse · 15/04/2010 23:40

Havent been examined yet. Contractions stronger. Have just had a very scary hypo and dh brought the wrong lucozade so my blood sugar has just shot the other way and now baby is going berserk and mw has told me off!

KatnKankles · 16/04/2010 00:49

Lol sounds like great fun ML! Hopefully i won't be much longer for you.

Congrats to forces and Lucky, am very . So ready to evict this little one now.

memorylapse · 16/04/2010 06:07

Managed to sleep a couple of hours. Im not classed as be4ng in established labour until 4 cmsand they wont examine me till 8. If ive progressed they will break my waters. Lots of pressure down below and bloody mucous

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 16/04/2010 07:38

ML - glad you've had some sleep, hope everything kicks off properly soon. When I was induced they left me during the night because I wasn't really dilating but I was 10cm at the morning check and DD born 10 mins after that. Good luck!

sweetkitty · 16/04/2010 07:40

Just checking in

ML - looks like you are going in the right direction though, fingers but not legs crossed it is today for you

Anyone else up for a baby today?

I was thinking I could quite happily get this boy out now am so fed up now, think theres a thread called "I have had enough" and no I didn't start. I just want to be able to move without it hurting. Still be over with soon and all be worth it, feel bad saying that as if I am ungrateful.

Anyway it is a lovely day barring volcanic ash.

OP posts:
Hollyoaks · 16/04/2010 08:23

Its a lovely morning here, hope everyone else is having a sunny day. Load of washing in nearly ready for the line, big pile of ironing and some school work all ready for me. Dsis is taking dd for a couple of hours to let me get it done.

ML - keep us updated, fingers crossed your lo is here by lunchtime.

SK/BRB/Pamelat - how exciting, your babies will be here soon. Very jealous as starting to ache lots now and getting fed up.

Hormonal - very about the car seat situation, sounds a bit fishy doesn't it. At least you've got one to get baby home in, but annoying that it doesn't match your pushchair.

Hope everyone has a nice day.

Carikube · 16/04/2010 08:38

Morning! Quick me question - sorry!

MW told me yesterday that as I had an epi last time I am more likely to tear this time as the scar tissue will be weaker. Has anyone any experience of this?

Still thinking of you ML and hope it's not too much longer!

pamelat · 16/04/2010 08:39

balloon wind pains?!

I might be better to start another thread but been so worried re bp and reasons why the baby breech (google can be a bad thing) that not really thought about the actual birth

pigleychez · 16/04/2010 08:56

Lucky- WOW! Huge congrats. Bet that was a suprise! Cant wait to hear more details.

at these new babies, Feels like I have ages left.

This sounds really strange but part of me too is fed up with being pregnant. However another part of me doesnt feel like im ready to have another baby yet. Kinda like " im over the wanting to be pregnant thing, now lets get back to normal" Hard to describe really. Guess its just realitly of a newborn again hitting.

DD slept for 3 hours yesterday afternoon and still went to bed at the normal time and slept straight through. Seems much better this morning. Temp has gone and much perkier. Shes already had a tantrum from not getting what she wants so def better!

Gills- With you on the sore bump. Sometimes the skin feels so stretched and ready to split open

Pamlet- Not long for you then

Hormonal- Glad you have a car seat finally but that its a new one and not your original one! Does sound alittle suss.
Shame it doesnt match but at least you have one now.

Angel- Sounds like youve been busy.

ML- Hope things arent too much longer for you and you get to meet your daughter soon

Well today is when the gasmen are meant to be starting on the drive/path but they are currently still working on next door so who knows!.

memorylapse · 16/04/2010 09:00

Pamela. Google is the work of the devil! Do not google!
Been examined. Still 3cms. Just had waters broken. Consultant was jigging los head around! Stronger contractions now

sweetkitty · 16/04/2010 09:17

ML - am loving your updates, virtual birth thread, hope you dilate very quickly now your waters have gone

carikube - I had a bad tear with DD1 and with DD2 I made them aware that I was scared of tearing again, the MWs were fab made me slow down the pushing stage and the MW actually held a warm flannel over the scar to protect it
