Congratulations brb!! Have you decided on a name? xx

Re everyone's chitchat about trimming downstairs, I went for a wax today. 4 words -OMFG!!

SquirtsMum · 27/04/2010 20:56

BRB Congratumalations

39 weeks today and bloody of those that have their new little bundles of joy already - have barely moved from the sofa today what with low pains in fanjo and bum, back ache and BH, DP has said no to baby coming tomorrow as its his day off lol

xxx

memorylapse · 27/04/2010 21:04

Congratulations BRB

pigleychez · 27/04/2010 21:06

BooBoo- Ive packed enought for an overnight and day.. Any more than that and ive got another bag with extra's in it that will be kept in the boot if needed. Hopefully not.... I want to be in and out as quickly as possible this time. The post natal ward doesnt have the best reputation and I couldnt wait to leave last time.

Happenedagain- at being in slow labour! Hope baby holds off till after your exam!

30ish- I too didnt get any BH's with DD. This time is completely different.

MDM- Congrats on being an Auntie You can get some practice in now Theres only 8 weeks between my DD and her cousin.

ML- Yay at Olivia being official now

Angel- Sounds like a nice but busy day.

Den- Enjoy your last day at work and Enjoy the wedding

Pamlet- Glad the ECV worked Sorry it was so painful though
Fingers crossed he stays that way round now.

BRB- Fantastic news Congratulations

Thanks for thinking of me... I had a sleep when DD went down for her nap which really helped. Think it might be my body finding it too much. Have a midwife appointment on thurs morning so will mention it all to her too.

Thankfully nothing planned for tomorow so i think a day in the garden is due... especially as its meant to be very warm.

booboomonster · 27/04/2010 21:14

BRB congratulations, lovely news. Do let us know her name!

Pamelat brilliant news on your ECV, well done! hope you feel better enough for your pamper day tomorrow - sounds like you deserve it.

Good luck to those with exams - and respect for having the mental capacity!

I'm shattered despite a 'garden day' today - off for an early night.

pamelat · 27/04/2010 21:17

Congrats BRB! Welcome to the world baby girl

kateyjane · 27/04/2010 21:31

Congratulations BRB

Sorry I haven't posted all week. Have got a heavy cold and been struggling the last few days. I will try to catch up with personal replies tomorrow.

Hope everyone is okay - think I am joining those having 'latent labours'. Never experienced this before and it's not pleasant!

Take care everyone

sweetkitty · 27/04/2010 21:44

oh oh oh a new baby

Congratulations brightredballoon, you didn't know you were having a girl, you already have one of each is that right?

schipo · 27/04/2010 23:34

BRB congrats on your new arrival. Looking forward to hearing more. Are you home already?

Happy the turning procedure worked for you Pamelat - although it does sound like quite an ordeal! Hope you can have a good rest now.

MDM - congrats on your new niece. Are you close to your DS? I hear my SIL who was due a week after me will be induced next week! It will be a first having cousins so close in age in the family.

First1 - welcome back. My waxing is tomorrow and your four words are already what I'm feeling about it. Stupidly it's scheduled for after a massage. They're in different places and I can't switch order now.

Our birthing pool is inflated in basement right now The ebay package arrived today at work today and I'm quite touched dh brought it home and has been working all evening checking it out. Even if we don't use it for the birth I'm sure it will be fun to give baby his first swim in it.

Not sure what you're all talking about with latent labours, but like to think it's got nothing to do with the heaviness and cramps and shooting pains I'm getting from time to time - hoping that's just the baby growing and moving. Itshappenedagain - hope your slow labour remains very slow for a good while longer- and good luck for your exam - really don't know how you do it either.

alle01 · 28/04/2010 06:31

brb- congrats, happy to hear you are both alright, let us know her name.

alle01 · 28/04/2010 07:13

i am still half asleep but, my due date is tomorrow and had been having latent/false labour (call it what you may) for a few days, ... my boobs are bigger today, i thought it was my imagination but i put on my maternity bra and is bursting now,
happened to any body, any thoughts? does this mean labour is close?

sweetkitty · 28/04/2010 07:33

Morning all quick message, 39 weeks today.

Schipo - latent labour is used to describe usually second plus labours where you have a sort of prelabour stage with loads of BHs, shooting pains, pressure downstairs. Also once you have had a baby your cervix never closes properly so you are always about 1cm dilated. Hence, second labours are usually faster and easier than firsts. I didn't even have a twinge with my first baby before my waters broke so wouldn't worry if you are not having any pains. Well done on getting your pool upso hope you get to use it, homebirths are fab especially afterwards when you can use your own toilet, shower or bath and get into your own bed with your baby. I quite fancy having a pool just to soak in just now though.

alle - labour is close whatever way you look at it

Not much else happening here, DP off today so am taking it nice and easy. DD1 has a school trip to a local park and it is pouring down bless her, raincoat and wellies coming up.

alle01 · 28/04/2010 07:35

hi sk, it's been nearly a week since start-stops started, close is a very relative word for me now, should i change it for imminent?

Hollyoaks · 28/04/2010 07:46

Morning all, very quick post as I have to go to work

BRB - congratulations Let us know her name.

Pamelat - glad ecv worked, doesn't sound like much fun but at least your on for a natural birth.

MDM - congratulations on becoming an auntie, lovely name, hope it wasn't your girl's name .

Alle - fingers crossed for the full moon tonight.

Booboo - potty training is on hold, dd keeps asking to use it but so far hasn't produced anything actually in it. So, we're going with the flow (no pun intended) and taking the lead from her. I think she's too busy playing in the garden with the rabbit with all this nice weather.

Hopefully manage an update tonight.

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 28/04/2010 08:10

BRB - Congratulations!!! Looking forward to your birth story

Pamelat - glad your ECV was successful, you must be relieved!

MDM - congratulations on becoming an auntie, beautiful name.

I only had 2 hours sleep last night after contracting throughout, getting more intense. Finally managed to fall asleep around 6am but kept getting woken up by them and am up now for the day. Feeling a bit in limbo since they're not really painful enough or close enough together to go to hospital Guess just lots of waiting around while DH goes to work.

alle01 · 28/04/2010 08:21

found a hilarious thread, especially for first time mums-to-be, see if i manage to copy the link,www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/954655-Things-you-said-thought-about-having-chidren-before-yo u-had
is the when i have kids in the discussions of the day anyway...

pamelat · 28/04/2010 08:29

20thcentury when is your due date?

Its very odd but I am excited about labour!

DH and I have not got on so well as last time . He was brilliant and for once, I was completely happy to let him take control/reassure me. Normally I am too independent.

Thank you all for ECV comments. I am really glad it worked and its very nice to have kicks higher up, they were very uncomfortable in my pelvis and had an ok nights sleep. 10pm - 7am, probably only waking once or twice and not needing to get up!!!

I dont even feel too bruised today, no visible bruising at all, miracle doctor!

Its my mums birthday today, think she was kind of hoping DS would arrive today, few weeks now yet, hopefully!

AnAngelWithin · 28/04/2010 08:37

Congrats to BRB!!!

Heffa fingers crossed something happens one way or another for you!

FIL has taken DCs to school for me this morning. Washing machine repair mans coming between 8 and 10. I am shattered after yesterday and got a headache so have (reluctantly) decided to have a lazy morning. DD2 finishes nursery at 11.10. FIL is fetching her for me. (first time as well for him being able to help in the morning and in the day, he's just retired from working nights last month!!)

Baby is really 'grating' down there, maybe the walking yesterday dropped it a little lol. I can hope!! I was nearly sick last night eating my tea. Did that in the last week before I had all the others so you never know! Especially dd1 who i went into labour with 24 days early. I'm 36+2 today. It can come whenever really, I am ready for it!

Hobnobfanatic · 28/04/2010 09:01

Big, big congratulations to baby BRB! Can't wait to hear your birth story.

Am really panicking that that's one more crossed off the list in front of me. There are only a few left before I'm top of the table. Arghghghghhg.

Though I think the next baby is down to Alle or Heffa by the sounds of it. We'll have to start running sweepstakes to liven things up!

Pamelat - so glad the ECV went well. It's incredible that it's possible to move a baby this late - there can't be much room!

Baby now 4/5 engaged; SPD a nightmare. Am feeling a little more prepared, but could do with another week or two to finish up bits and bobs, especially as I'm still working and have to get as far ahead as poss so as not to use up my 10 Keeping In Touch days too soon!

Have had a few 'is this it?' moments - with prolonged contractions etc. I didn't know last time I was in labour; I bet I'm equally clueless this time!

Sorry for so few personals - so much to catch up on!
Good luck to those sitting exams - I really, really don't know how you can sit in one place for more than 20 mins without getting achy, let alone have the mental capacity to face an exam!

DP is off to a funeral Fri - so I imagine, sod's law, that's when the baby will decide to come, when he's the other side of the country... Sad that baby didn't come sooner, though, so his aunt couldn't have met her.

Carikube · 28/04/2010 09:18

Hobnob DH is off to an interview 2.5 hours away from home this afternoon so I think I'm like you in that sod's law says LO will decide to make a move this afternoon. I've suddenly started getting a lot of pressure downstairs and felt a bit bleurgh over dinner last night so having read what others have said about latent labour, I'm wondering if these are all signs (am 37+5). DH is also off to a gig in London next Weds evening so I've got a friend coming over for dinner but she's petrified that I'll go in to labour whilst she's here. I'm sending out vibes to LO to wait until May 6th when MIL arrives so DD has someone to look after her.

Hobnobfanatic · 28/04/2010 09:41

Carikube - cross your legs and hope for the best! I'll be doing the same. Tbh, you'll probably find that you will hold on until May 6th. I know lots of friends who, once relatives have arrived or are close at hand, they relax and then labour starts!

Like a few here, the odd bit of nausea has started - never had that with DD1. And late cravings too... All very peculiar.

Hope your DP gets the job!

Sassles · 28/04/2010 10:14

BRB Congratulations on your new arrival. Well done!

Carikube fingers crossed for DH and interview.

Pamelat Glad the turn went well. Hope wee bottom stays upright. Don't know much about these things! Totally clueless.

TCH & alle01 and others having tightenings etc. I must admit I can feel things going on, but canlt really tell if it is baby having big stretch and moving about or any kind of BH. I have been getting some period like pains on an off, but nothing major and think you can get these for a while before anything happens(?). Due date week on 8th May.

itshappenedagain totally sympathise with the needing to cross legs and get brain in gear. I spent yesterday and will spend today cramming for my interview tomorrow. Can not wait till it is over and I can just concentrate on enjoying a few days/weeks of mat leave. Can think of so many things I would rather be doing than studying. Is your exam long? I have a three stage interview over about 4 hours including a stupid role play (who makes these things up), but get breaks in between each stage, so hopefully not too bad. Do you think you can will your body into not going into labour?

ML glad that the Mastitis is getting better and thanks for the BF advice re milk flow etc. I will def be trying to give it a go and not be pushed into topping up right at the start.

Interview all booked in for tomorrow, but email sent from boss still trying to persuade me not to do it and that if he feels I'm not up to it, he will cancel it. Yeah right! Like to see him try. He had no problem with me working this week when I was originally not going to start my mat leave till this friday. Think he is just trying to make sure I don't feel like I have to do it out of niceness (is that a word). He did also write that although they have agreed to interview me early, I need to keep in mind that I might not here the result for a month and a half while they finish the other interviews. Really nice when he was telling me prev I had to interview in week of 10th or would not be fair to keep others waiting for result, so they could have interviewed me much later on, but def think it is better to do it now v preg rather than after the birth. Couldn't care less how long they take to give me the result as long as I get a good crack at it.

Sassles · 28/04/2010 10:16

P.S. Think this thread is about to collapse. My mumsnet had it at 90 pages long, then it changed to over 10 pages for last few days, now saying 39 pages? .

AnAngelWithin · 28/04/2010 10:28

hope you don't mind ladies I started another thread here maybe it will last us all til we have all popped??

LuckyC · 01/05/2010 19:07
